I am using it in conjunction with my Netgear Router. The modem was easy to setup and Comcast added it to my account and it was up and running quickly. I also use it for my landline phone with Xfinity. It works flawlessly. I have been sold on Netgear equipment for many years. I also have a Netgear range extender in my network. My internet speeds are greatly improved.

It immediately activated through my ISP's web activation page! NO calls to my ISP! (That alone is worth it's weight in gold!Then I connected my Netgear wireless router to my new CM500V. I decided to change my router's LAN IP subnet in order to have connectivity to the management page of both devices (because they both used the same subnet by default).Now my new CM500V is providing fast internet (clocked at 60 Mbps, which my ISP advertises) to my home network of 3 laptops and 2 streaming TVs.The VOIP phone also works great; it is our home phone and is nice & clear.If you need a voice cable modem, I highly recommend the CM500V! I was surprised by the ease of installation & setup. It is excellent value for money!

I am highly impressed with the sleek design of the modem and its efficiency. I am now enjoying non-interrupted movie streaming using CM500V. Netgear's customer and technical service is also superb - they helped me with device connections and troubleshooting.I recommend Netgear's product line for cable modem needs for high speed internet, particularly as an integrated unit for telephone/voice service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Modem For Phone ServiceWe recently eliminated our landline and went with Comcast Triple Play with phone service. My previous modem was no long supported by Comcast anyway and wouldn't support the phone service, so we replaced it with this CM500V modem. Setup was a breeze and then the phone call to Comcast to have them set it up went flawlessly as well. Once all setup, we were able to disconnect the phone lines from the outside landline box, run a phone cable from the modem to the jack in the wall and just like that we had phone service on all our landline phones! Very satisfying install. I would definitely recommend this modem to anybody looking to replace their landline phone service.

Comcast self-installation a little balky to do slower than expected responses from Comcast - not a Netgear problem. Required one modem reset from Comcast after installation (easy to request via Comcast automated phone response system. Smooth sailing ever since.

Called Comcast to assist with setting up cable and phone service and no problems with it to date. Not tech savvy so postponed buying too long.

When it drops, i'm on the phone with my internet provider seeking for answers and a credit on my account.

I have two friends who bought a different brand and both had difficulties setting it up. I paid $20 more for mine than they paid for theirs, but I definitely got the better deal. I would definitely highly recommend this modem!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent ModemCurrently in use for nearly a month. Unit has 2 phone port but just one ethernet port. It would be better if it was the reverse. Service provider charges add fee if second port requires a service phone line. All you would need is just one line wired into your home phone wiring after disconnecting the local phone provider. (eg.Verizon). Had to wait a month to get the unit due to back order. Phone voice quality is excellent through the modem.

Took about 10 minutes to complete as I had a phone jack near the modem and could simply plug the phone out into this jack, Had both internet and 2 phone lines installed. The speed is great and the voice quality is wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacing expensive Comcast "rental"I found on Comcast's web site that this device was an acceptable replacement modem for the Arris modem that I was paying $10.99 per month to "rent." Hooked this up in 5 minutes, called Comcast to make the switch and 30 minutes later, I was using my two phone lines and had an additional internet option. The break-even on this purchase is going to be 10.5 months. I probably "bought" the Comcast modem 10-times over. Good riddance!
