The device is compact, although it can present problems with blocking other plugs at the electrical outlet. If you plug it into the bottom socket, there is enough room for another electronic device to be plugged into the top socket with a conventional plug. Setup is easy - I used my phone to aid with the initial setup, which took about five minutes. This is a convenient to have extender for the price. My only complaint is that the instructions state to place the device in direct line-of-sight of the WiFi router during normal use (not just during initial setup, which really does defeat the purpose of using a WiFi extender.

And, as a bonus, if you have a computer (like the Raspberry Pi with an OS that supports Ethernet but doesn’t support WiFi (like RISC OS), no problem! Plug an Ethernet cable between your computer and this WiFi Extender and you’re good to go!

It connects to the router great and my smart phone and tablets connect to the extender well. The problem I have had is connecting a smart TV to the network on the extended. Next I placed it on my second floor (2 floors above my basement. It still connected to the router and it connected to my mobile devices, but even 10 feet away from the smart TV it would not connect. I assume this is an issue with the TVs (I tried two) and how strong their WiFi signal is. I ended up having to connect to the TV with an Ethernet upstairs and left the main router in the basement.

The extender does its job and the dead rooms have wifi - success. The speed however is in the 50MPS range. I was hoping for more but maybe that is not their function. Netgears support was exceptional.

Outside gaming if i connect it to other devices the connect is smooth and no connection drops

I bought this extender as a last ditch effort and it worked. It was super easy setting it up and the computer immediately picked up the signal. My son was so happy because he could not play with his birthday computer for the first 24 hours but now he has zero problems connecting to the network, thanks to this extender.

As more people are working and staying at home presently, this might be a solution to weak Wi-Fi signals throughout your home. I can now continue a remote meeting without fear of freezing when someone uses the microwave. This is an inexpensive, yet effective, alternative to rewiring or upgrading your cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needed some tech support but now working great I set up the extender a few days ago but kept getting kicked off wifi. Prior to purchase we’d been having the same problem. After fumbling with it for a half hour I opted for tech support to call me and troubleshoot. $200 for a 5-yr security subscription and 1 1/2 hours later I’m up and running. I guess my computer was infected by too many IP addresses accessing my wifi. I’m happy that all was fixed and am hoping wifi won’t be dropped again. However if it does I’m covered for five years by subscribing to Netgear’s security system. Keeping my fingers crossed.

It was super easy. Be patient at the beginning for the light to turn green. My connection issues have disappeared since using this product. I haven’t noticed any degradation in speed on our internet/WiFi. I would recommend this product.

The team of volunteers were having a hard time picking up the WiFi signal in the back areas. The addition of the AC 750 greatly improved this. The install was super easy and the a non-techie group easily attached it it. This extender is highly recommended for a cost effective measure to increase your WiFi signal.

Gaming was tough due to lag before getting the extender. Really great that it has both 2.5 and 5.8 Ghz frequencies. The installation was very easy and you get things up and running in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend this to extend the range of your wifi signal.

The distance between the router and the this extender is a lot with a long maze like hallway in between the rooms the router and the extender are located at. However, I still get great WiFi signal on all my devices and there are 8 devices connected to it. It might cut off sometimes, but not often. So for where this extender is situated at and all the devices connected to it, it works really well. I definitely recommend this extender and absolutely recommend NETGEAR. Would like to add that the tech support is awesome. They are very knowledgeable in what they do and how they service! I am a very satisfied and pleased customer!

I use it to reach beyond my home in order to enable WiFi access from my detached garage. It extends both the the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands transmitted from my main WiFi router. Very easy set up using an intuitive web interface, with its Smart Setup option. Basically, it receives and retransmits WiFi signals to reach nooks and crannies, and far away locations that your main WiFi router may not reach. Highly recommended.

I plugged this into the center room of the house - seems to have improved our browser/upload/download speed.

We’ve basically been quarantined for the last 8 months so I decided to buy an electric drum kit and take online drum lessons while we’re at home most of the time. The problem was that the Wi-Fi in our basement had been very hit-or-miss (mostly miss). My drum teacher recommended getting the Netgear AC750 WiFi Range Extender and we haven’t had any problem with dropped calls or freezing video. It’s been a real game-changer! Thanks, Netgear!

Initial setup is not nearly as easy as described and the instructions suffer from lack of clarity and potentially wrong information. Once the device is setup it provides ability to extend the range of my router from upstairs to portions of downstairs where the router does not penetrate due to walls, pipes, hvac ducting and other impediments. There is no free lunch and the throughput of this device is noticeably less than that of the router. It works well for internet connected static devices such as thermostats, electrical switches, outlets and such but is noticeably less responsive for active connections such as laptops and tablets.

I was able to get a hold of support but they gave up saying that my equipment was bad. After I ended my call and online support with them I got a pop up right away. They said they were from Netgear. Ended up they were not from Netgear and I believe I got tricked into purchasing a service I did not need. However they were able to set up netgear for me. Isn’t that odd.So beware.

My router is in the basement in a closet, my son is also in the basement with a complete array of computers for gaming and streaming. My office and my printer are on the main floor and my two high school students and their laptops are on the 3rd floor. This extender works perfectly for everyone in the house. The set-up was super easy and the directions were easy to follow. Great buy and great price. I would highly recommend this product.

I have placed this extender over 100ft away from the router, without putting it in direct visual line of sight. It picks up the signal and boosts it for about 25% of my download speeds. That is quite excellent considering it is picking up wifi signal. It connects we ease using the wps. It also has the ability to change ssid to whatever name you want. Thus, I am able to keep the wireless networks and passwords the same for seamless switching. Good purchase.

Also, it you renamed / changed the password, it will use the default if you set it up directly from the router. Otherwise, this works really well for us to have our cameras further from the router.

The EX6100v2 was placed in a stragtegic location and the laptop speed increased by 100 percent. Would definitely recommend purchase and may purchase another one for guests upstairs.

It provides the needed WIFI power to the rest of my house while allowing me to plug in an Ethernet cable for my office computer. Zero loss on speed when wired. Great that it also allows both 2.4 and 5 ghz bands as well. Perfect upgrade for my previous extender that only offered 2.4 ghz. Definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well I have had this for a few months, working as an extender on a an older Comcast data/phone modem. It corrected my coverage in the far end of my house. Setup was easy and the range/ reliability prompted us to use it as our main wifi access throughout the entire house ( and out 1800 sf. We recently had to swap the Comcast modem,(it failed) and now have a new Xfi unit. We had some issues with the 2 units working together. I switched to a Netgear Mesh extender to fix that issue. I ran an ethernet cable to my deck and relocated my ac750, switched it to access point, and now I have excellent coverage out to my grill and fire pit.

I am using it as an extender. Which pass word is correct my computer pass word or the one for the WiFi system. I like net gear I had one that lasted me 6 years. I just need to get this one set up.

Only downside is my speed decreased dramatically. I went from 200 mbps down to 40 mbps. Not going to work when I’m streaming Netflix, SlingTV, and Tablo OTA channels. Returned it and bought a WiFi mesh system. A little more expensive but I have full strength of my WiFi signal throughout the house.

But I noticed when streaming to the TV my laptop wifi speed dropped or was delay before going up to speed. Then I used the web and discovered that by using Fast Lane (5G in, 2G extended I was able to get 80 out of 100 Mbps on my laptop while streaming to the TV.

Even with ‘Fastlane’ enabled, I couldn’t get more than about 65mbps at endpoints, and mostly it was 30-something mbps. I guess that’s plenty for email

My room was getting a very spotty connection from the wifi router and the speed dropped very low. With this wifi extender, I am getting a lot higher download speeds in my room and the connection has been more stable. I also like that this wifi extender is dual band so I can connect to either the 2.4ghz or 5ghz band. I would recommend trying this product.

The Netgear AC750 once set-up and located in the basement, provided a strong signal. Finally my Sony TV was able to maintain a strong connection to 5Ghz channel with good speed and no buffering.

I lost the login information and was unsuccessful in resetting it both online through Ethernet connection and with the device itself. I can no longer use it.

It broadcast to the areas where I needed coverage and had good speed tests. However, when I left for a business trip, my spouse said most of our devices were attempting to switch between the 2Ghz/5Ghz on the main router and the AC750’s signals. After turning the AC750 off, the switching stopped but the far reaches of the house once again lack WiFi coverage. Hopefully I can find assistance.

My WiFi router is in the basement , so I installed the extender on the first floor and I’m very happy with the results. I have TVs in the basement, first and second floor and the WiFi signal Now shows “very good” everywhere. 2 of my TVs are older and I use Roku and Amazon Fire stick - was easy to set up and they work great now. Once lost a signal on the extender, had to reset it and since that works with no interruptions

First one easy to set up worked great for years, then when we got a new modem couldn’t get it to work (no help from Netgear either. Bought a new one (twice the money) over 3 hours with support to get it working. Not as effective because it’s only connected to the 5G and not other network.

Without this extender I was getting 3-5 mps only now I am getting 45-50 mps from my total of 100 mps modem. Makes a great investment. Best of all it works with 2.4 and 5 GHz. I have the main router in the family room downstairs in one corner of the house and this extender in another corner upstairs. Not only it uses the same Wi-Fi name, it also amplifies the signal and best of all provides an Ethernet outlet for my Desktop which requires hard-wired Internet connection, thus avoiding the need to re-wire the Ethernet connection.

Over the years I’ve bought many of their extenders and to this day they still work and provide internet in parts of my house that my wifi does not reach, they have great customer service, and they have an app so that you can control your extender which is amazing. Overall a solid 10/10 for net gear overall not just the net gear extender AC750 that I have.

It works great, originally I only had 1 to 2 bars on WIFI at my Desktop Computer, once the AC750 was up and running it never goes below 3 bars and most times stays at 4. I now have a very reliable connection.

I am now able to go above 100 mbs which I needed to stream movies without interupions and blurred picture quality. The LED indications are very useful to figure out the quality of reception. I wish Installation instructions could have been documented better in the box. I had to google and get the full pdf manual to understand it well.

I had 3 set of in under 24 min and kids were already online using the Ethernet option directly in the unit. Since getting them we have not had any dropping of service anywhere. Much better than pods and cheaper.

It became most of the time, when I'll be connected with full strength with all bars on and will not have internet. When I go to the room with the router and connect directly to it, it works. When I run the diagnostics, it shows nothing wrong with the extension connectivity, and that internet should be working. It became very annoying and I'm considering switching or sending the extension in the recycle bin so hopefully, something better will come out of it.

Once I bought the AC750 wifi range extender, it solved my problems with my internet signal, and now I get perfect signal in all the rooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Netgear Extender EX6100v2 I live in a mobile home and their construction, notoriously, inhibits the range of wireless transmissions. This extender is wonderful. It was simple to set up and the range it provides is great. Not only do I get a strong signal to the bedrooms that hardly had a signal in the past, I even get a signal out in my carport. I cannot recommend this enough for people who are having signal strength issues in their homes.

Setup was very easy, took me only about 15-20 minutes and I was up and streaming the internet and gaming upstairs in my house where the signal barely reached before. I’d definitely recommend these to friends and family if they needed one.

We have noticed our internet capabilities have been much better in our dead spots. Also we like the mesh aspect of the extender so we are not constantly having to switch between WiFi sources to get the best signal.

Setup is simple and I have not found a router they won't work with. Embedded management software is easy to configure. Whatever feature you don't want can be disabled in the advanced settings. Takes around 15 minutes from open box to full use. The longest part of the setup was typing in the password for the network I wanted to connect it to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works well I have had the NetGear AC750 for a few months and have tried it in three different rooms to extend the Wi-Fi better in the house (one story 2000 sq ft) . It works well to provide more consistent Wi-Fi throughout the house (as long as it is within range of the router). When placed in a window, it even extends the Wi-Fi about 100 feet outside (in line of site). I noticed after a power loss, some devices needed to be linked to it again, so now I have it and the other devices on a battery backup. The ethernet port can be used to bring your network signal to the device (from the router), or it can be used to take the signal out to another device. Instructions on how to set it up are explicit.

I did not use the app (I am old school) - I logged on its inbuilt webpage, and configured it without any hiccup. It does not drop connection though it and the router sit at the extreme ends of the house, in the basement!

My only complaint is I occasionally have to reboot it in order to get actual data connectivity again, if I've been gone for a long weekend. It doesn't seem to like being idle for long periods, however I've never lost connectivity during a work day.

But once it was set-up, I decided to run multiple speed test, and always seem to had even worst signal than I did before I installed it, and so I decided to return the item. My WiFi wouldn’t reach my front door for our RING doorbell camera, so I bought this extender...every night, it would go into sleep mode and disconnect the RING! Major safety issue. I would have to do the whole Ring connect process over every morning. Only kept for 4 days, then returned it. Ended up getting a whole new router instead, and now my RING has full signal and stays active 24/7.

Since the router has to be downstairs I thought about getting a new router since mine is about 10 years old. I did some research and discovered that I could buy a WiFi extender and extend my signal. I chose the Netgear AC750 because of the price and the simplicity of the device. I now have better coverage upstairs. I’m glad I made the decision to buy the extender.

They have a VPN phone system that connects to their platform where customer calls get directed to the agents. As a results, having a strong WiFi is imperative. However, I moved to this month by month hotel stay and the WiFi provided by the hotel wasn’t cutting it, even though I hoped that it would be strong enough for me to be able to work effectively. Not only was it not strong enough, I was not able to work at all due to the VPN phone not recognizing there was WiFi! I quickly called my dad for some ideas of what to do because packing and moving back was not an option, and not working and risking getting fired from was also not an option. Being the genius that he is, he did a quick Google search and realized that there was such a thing as a WiFi extender. And since the VPN phone had an Ethernet cable that needed to be plugged into a modem of some sort, he reasoned that the NetGear might just do it by “tricking” the system into thinking it was directly connected to a modem. It worked! And has been extremely helpful. I did lose a day of work. However, I didn’t lose my job. Thanks NetGear for coming to the rescue.

I only had 2 bars of internet in my middle bedroom and one bar in another and none in the third. I installed my Netgear AC750 in my kitchen area and now receive full bars in all areas of my home. And the router is located in the living room of the main house that is completed on the other side. Like complete opposite side. Our internet literally sucks we sometimes don’t get any wifi for days so I figured I’ve give this thing a try. The set up needs patience, but is fairly easy. We used the app as instructed and it’s basic instructions nothing complicated. I think it took ours awhile to connect because we didn’t want to interrupt my in laws in their home to access their router. But it connected and it took about an hour for it to reach our phones and tablets. It’s really good. Like it lags a little bit, but that’s only happened twice. It’s a great product. I am very pleased with. Feels good to have service in my little place. One side of our hone had a complete dead zone like all the wifi connection in the world and it did not get service. Now we are live and enjoying it a lot. Highly recommend this product.

I was skeptical about buying a WiFi extender because I honestly didn’t believe it could improve the internet throughout my house, but I am happy to announce that I was very wrong and pleasantly surprised. The NetGear WiFi extender exceeded my expectations. Not only did it increase the speed of my internet, it extended all the way to our back patio with no lagging or connectivity issues. With 3 kids and two adults all virtually working and learning at home, this was a constant problem. Not anymore!! Now my family and I can enjoy being outdoors watching the game or playing the Xbox or doing our work/school all at the same time with zero issues. Thank you NetGear!! I will definitely recommend this product to my family, friends and associates!

Recently I have purchased at least three different Netgear Extenders, and they were all simple to hook up and use, but the EX6100v2 has been my biggest challenge yet. I downloaded the app and got everything almost connected but I keep hitting a roadblock. And I am not sure what it is because I have followed all the directions exactly! It is just frustrating. If it is my fault I will come back and add more stars to my review, as I am fond of Netgear products!!!!

The extender also felt extremely warm to the touch when I unplugged it. Did all the usual rebooting and reloading to try to fix it but no dice. It was returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth Streaming We recently purchased an extender because our modem and Netgear router are in our living room in the center of the house and I guess due to many walls in between, our back bedrooms do not have the strongest signal. This makes it challenging for our daughter to try to have Zoom meetings or FaceTime calls or for us to try to stream the occasional show from bed from our phones. That wasn’t so bothersome, but the freezing Facetime calls with Grandma and the Zoom meetings having spotty reception was an issue, so we got one and gave it a try. Setup took a little longer than I thought, but we figured it out. Our hallway is the “in between” point that is suggested for the extender, but we don’t have many outlet options, so we gave it a try in our daughter’s room. The signal was strong enough to work and it has amplified it to a full strong signal. She now happily Facetimes Grandma and her BFF without freezing and silence. She is also able to clearly stream her Zoom meetings, which lets her feel more comfortable and herself vs. the living or dining areas. It picked up both our standard and 5G signals and amplifies them both. We definitely give this a 6 thumbs up- 2 from each of us! Very satisfied!

It was necessary to contact a human being to help me set up. Although the tech folks walked me through the set up steps, I still have no idea if this extender is helping or even working at all. I could not set up on y own, so i contacted customer service and they walked me thru the set up. It now works perfect. The new extender has a less complicated way of extending the networks created by my router. Took multiple set up attempts to get a stable connection. Does extend wifi about 30 feet but speed suffers very much. 12 Mbps at router and only 2mbps when devices connected to extender. Installed all the latest updates and does not give option to connect with different speeds as install directions say. Is acting more as a mesh system as same network name as router is extended and same password. Easier to connect devices this way but connection speed should not be this slow when extender is within 40 ft of main router

It would regularly lose its connection although it had been fine previous to the new router. The signal strength was fine...not a large house...but I took a shot and purchased this extender. The signal strength is about the same, but the connection is now stable. I don't know if the extender acts as some sort of filter or otherwise reinforces the 2.4GHz frequency to our older laptop, but we are happy. I installed it both ways, using the automatic sync first then reset and reinstalled using the manual procedure. Much prefer the manual procedure.

Our internet provider didn't do anything to fix or help the situation although we pay a monthly fee for their services. After purchasing and setting up my NETGEAR I haven't had any issues with my internet connection. I'm able to stream movies, play games online via PC and console with no lag. I was able to setup my own password and name as well. It's almost like having personal WiFi/Internet! Awesome! Thank you!

So frustrating! The NETGEAR wifi extender has totally eliminated that problem with my wifi, evewn with me being in the basement, a fair distance from our modem.
