For IT professionals responsible for managing virtual infrastructure, System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2007 - a member the System Center family of system management products - provides a straightforward and cost-effective solution for unified management of physical and virtual machines, consolidation of underutilized physical servers, and rapid provisioning of new virtual machines by leveraging the expertise and investments in Microsoft Windows Server technology.

Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2007 Workgroup Edition - li is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from SCVMM is as close to a useless tool as you'll ever come. First of all what you see isn't in realtime, so you constantly have to manually update your view to get the right picture. There is no performance monitoring, cluster management or storage managment and you will find yourself having to use other tools to manage your VM environment(eg. hyper-v manager, failover cluster manager and misc performance monotoring tools). We manage about 2500 VM in our environment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I've used it in production and lab environments for several years - it's a great product, but it's got a price tag that other virtualization and cloud management platforms can beat. Still, for a pure-Windows shop, it's the best thing out there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The 2012 R2 version of this software is great. Although the one problem I have with it so far is that they removed the P2V option from it. Made my days a bit longer to virtualize some servers.
