The McAfee WebShield e250 Appliance is an integrated solution, combining anti-virus and content management software with enhanced hardware, delivering protection in a configure-and-forget system that quickly resolves your major virus security worries. The e250 scans e-mail traffic (SMTP), web traffic (HTTP), file transfers (FTP) and dial up mail traffic (POP3), delivering protection in a configure-and-forget system that quickly resolves your major virus security worries.
The WebShield e250 has been designed to easily handle mail throughput of 30,000 e-mails per hour over SMTP, and is capable of handling 250k of HTTP traffic per second. This throughput makes the WebShield e250 Appliance one of the most flexible and scalable e-mail anti-virus solution to date - perfect for organizations with less than 500 nodes.
The WebShield e250 Appliance provides graphical reporting on key virus activity at the gateway. Detailed reports are also available on content filtering rules that have been triggered, and attempts to access prohibited URLs. In addition, if ePolicy Orchestrator is used in conjunction with the WebShield e250, full virus trend analysis and reporting is available, ensuring the administrator always has a bird's-eye view of infections.
