Rated 5 out of 5 by from always out of warrenty (come on linksys) like the other version of linksys the AC1900. light on the front went out. you can not see the lights on the front of the router. tried all options from updating the firmware to switching the light on and off from the management panel and no luck. contacted linksys and as always product hardware is no longer supported, they used to make good products....thx linksys :(

Bought this router a little over a year ago and am now experiencing severe slowdown and dropped connections on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Unfortunately the reliability of the device is not what I've come to expect from Linksys and would not recommend to anyone who needs a more stable router for gaming and 4K streaming. This router has too many glitches and hardware failures to justify the high price point.

User friendly linksys app to see what is on your network and to modify and adjust all setting via your mobile phone or cpu. LOve it and its ease of setup and use is well worth its price tag.

In the 2 years I've had this router it's been constant disappointments on all the fancy features I paid extra for: AWFUL GUEST WIFI - It's an open network and your guests MUST launch a web browser to confirm they want to join. You CAN'T just set a password to connect to wifi and be done, so you can never join any device that doesn't have a web browser. Even if your guests do join, they may be cut off from internet if they don't launch the browser after joining. FILE SHARING IS A NIGHTMARE - You can connect an external HD to the router and share folders. But the router uses deprecated SMB version 1, which is so old and insecure it's disabled by default in Windows 10, Apple iOS, and most Linux distributions. To make it work you actually have to enable unsafe v1 in your computer's settings, leaving you open to security vulnerabilities. When you set permissions for shares (users and passwords) the account that has full read/write rights MUST be named "admin." LINKSYS DOESN'T UPDATE THEIR FIRMWARE - In the 2 1/2 years I've had this router only a single firmware update was released. Not surprising they don't care about patching security vulnerabilities when they're forcing use of legacy protocols. POOR PHONE SUPPORT - If you call in they're eager to help. But first let's get all your info and serial number. Ah ha! You need to pay us if you want us to help you solve your issue! ORGANIZING DEVICES IS BUGGY, AND WILL NEVER BE FIXED - You can log in and find devices that are on your wifi. If you input the device names you'll find that totally unrelated devices show as a single device with same name. Example: I named my SmartTV, then found that the thermostat was now "SmartTV." It has a different MAC address, different IP. So I name it "Thermostat" only to find my SmartTV is now "Thermostat." Why? LINKSYS IS SPYING ON YOU - I set up my own DNS server, gave the IP address to the router. My DNS server shows that the only device in my house that's asking for IP addresses is my Linksys router. It's tracking every address I resolve by serving as a man-in-the-middle. The reason I was able to find this is because this behavior causes Hulu to crash on my SmartTV. I could fix it if my SmartTV were asking my DNS server directly, but Linksys intentionally blocks that. TLDR- The hardware is pretty good, but Linksys found every possible way to make the router a piece of junk and shouldn't be allowed to advertise all these great features given how they've made each one terrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stable router This router is amazing it has the latest when it comes to Wi-Fi technology. You can install an open source firmware. The one thing that I wish that this router had would be a Qualcomm chip instead of the marvel chip and maybe in the near future have a collaboration with a software company like netduma to take this routers ability to the next level. I would also want LEDs to change colors. When it comes to installation its fast and easy. A lot of people who review this product sometimes don't have the knowledge on how network works and they end up connecting this router incorrectly and they give a bad review. I used to be in family and friends and then Linksys took me out of the program so I am not writing this review because I got something for free I bought this router with my own money. If you are having issues make sure your modem is not acting like a router. The mobile app is solid, the user interface of the router is solid as well. The RF signal is strong for both one floor or two floor or three floor. In conclusion I recommend this router if you are a fan of the WRT family and you want to either install your own open source firmware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a good router Nothing but issues from the first day, tech support has been unhelpful, they drag problems out until warranty is over, no way of securing router if there are already intruders without a full reset, cannot communicate well with other routers even on LAN, and and many more just look up this router on google and you will find all kinds of issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible buy. I bought this from Best Buy and was having the following problems. 1. I had to power cycle reset the router every other day. 2. The 5Ghz channel which was manually set to one channel would just change channels on its own requiring a reset. 3. Once I plugged in an external HD to the USB 3.0 slot, I was unable to safely remove the device without performing a work around. I took this product back to Best Buy and exchanged it for another one thinking the problem was specific to one unit. Turns out the second Unit had the same problems. Talked to Tech Support and never really reached a solution. Just found myself being told someone wold call me and until I got angry about that, nobody ever called. As this problem was dragging on, my ability to return the second device and get my money back was running out. I decided to give up on Linksys. Too bad really. I've been loyal to Linksys for about 15 years. I like the blue box, I like the lights that tells me when I have a 1 Gbit connection and I love the menu system. The WRT1900AC that I have has never given me a bit of trouble. Just the lights burned out. I wanted to upgrade and clearly this was not the upgrade I wanted. I've had to move on to a Netgear X6 3200 Tri band for about the same price. The WRT3200ACM is only Dual Band. I just feel this product was rushed to market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really happy with my WRT3200ACM I wanted more bandwidth than I could get through my Linksys E2500. As both my wired and wireless speed tests have confirmed, the WRT3200ACM has delivered in spades. Setup was a breeze. I followed the recommended quick start process and was connected to the internet in moments. Configuring port forwarding was also very simple. Next, connect all of the wireless devices to the new SSID and it was done. All told about an hour for the complete process. I configured both 2.4ghz and 5ghz to the same SSID and like that each device can choose it's preferred band.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WRT3200ACM Set-up: End user is responsible to attach the four antennas, an unexpected step for this brand, I would expect the unit to be ready for connections, not final assembly. Connections and configurations are straight forward, note - AC cord really need to be longer. Direct connection the one Desktop for configuration was easy and after and uncomfortable long pause, the set-up screen appeared, easy to use and very nicely laid out. Two WiFi devices connected without any issues, good range and bandwidth performance. Unable to go any further with this unit, it started losing its Internet connection intermittently, tried power cycling the unit, no change. It lasted slightly over an hour of operation, before it became unstable and unusable. For this unit and incident, it gets an overall poor rating for its early life failure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Was very impressed When I saw the box and opened it, it was quite intimidating. It looks so big and blue. But after reading the small instruction pamphlet I started the installation. Because of the size and color I wanted to hide it but still have it in a place with the best reception. Decided to hang on the wall.(I wish it came with a template for the screws). I followed the instructions, very simple, and was up and running in no time. Once I connected to the WiFi it was simple to change the name and password. The connection is strong and steady, the whole family connect and had no issues. Everyone was "Surfing the Web" without a hiccup. From the set up it led me to the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi web site where I signed up and had instant access to the router and all kinds of information. This is a WiFi Router that's worth every cent. I mentioned it to my family and friends. My brother went out and bought one that week. If you can get by the large size and color, it is one of the best routers I have ever used, and I have been through several of them. I recommend purchasing to family and friends.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Settings reset after a few days Running router with stock linksys firmware. Within the last week, personal settings on the router mysteriously reset on it's own. Prior to personal settings being reset, I was getting an error after login so I performed a hard reset and re-input all my personal settings. This fixed the error message from appearing after login. After about 2 days of running, unable to access local UI on router. Needed to power cycle the router to login to access router's local UI but personal settings for the router somehow lost. Need to re configure router again but within 2-3 days unable to access local UI for router, also router settings lost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from yes indeed! Linksys WRT3200ACM I just turned this router up off a cox cable modem and got 70meg out of 6 different devices. (not tested at the same time). It took every bit of 15 minutes, ez as pie. I hung my Apple Airport Time capsule (10 years old) off of LAN port 1 with a IPV6 in the bridge mode it still works as WIFI router, backup disk, and switch. So far so good no problems. Ask me tomorrow after I hang all the rest of my junk off it.

Once online it updates automatically which is great. The speeds are up to par and steady. The WiFi runs very fast with a strong signal throughout. Slim profile, indicator lights let's you see what is connected which is always a plus. All in all I am happy with my purchase.

I wasn’t expecting faster speed out of an unchanged internet connection but lo and behold, that’s exactly what I got. And as an added bonus, there’s a noticeable boost to the coverage range. Areas in my home where the connection used to drop? Not a problem anymore. Upgrading was a snap using the backup and restore tool, making the router swap quick and eliminating any usual configuration hassles. Everything just worked exactly like before. Couldn’t have asked for a smoother process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Set Up And Fast I have been a fan of Linksys for a long time, they make the best routers. The WRT3200 ACM MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi router is on top of my list for routers. This thing is fast, my Roku now loads Netflix super-fast no load buffer at all when choosing a show to watch. The coverage is also very impressive, I now have full bars in my living room where I only had 3. The set up was a breeze took less then 5 minutes. It took longer to remove the old router and plug this one in then setting the router up. I also connected a Wi-Fi extender in the kitchen to boost the signal to the back yard. Now I can sit under the canopy and listen to Pandora on my Wi-Fi. Connecting the extender to the router with the app took 2 minutes to set up so easy. I am looking forward to see how it will do when my 7 grand children come for a visit and they all have a device to connect. The old one had trouble some times when everyone was connected, 11 phones 4 teenagers they watch a lot of YouTube videos and Netflix for the little ones. I have no fear the WRT3200 ACM MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router will live up to the task. All in all, Linksys has lifted the bar when it comes to Wi-Fi routing, this thing is fantastic.

So far it has been lag free even while streaming HD video on three devices simultaneously. Finding the perfect position on the external antennas was alittle tricky but they definitely help improve coverage in problem areas . Setup was easy , I would like to see a option to transfer previous wireless networks and data through the Linksys app to ease setup and prevent haven't to reenter passwords on all devices . Overall this has been the best router I have owned to this date .

I have to reboot the router every day to get wifi working and sometimes twice a day. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Quick and Easy Setup, Good Coverage I received this router a week ago from Linksys as a test product. As with previous tests, I attempted to set this device up using my cell phone. I received a browser error that I needed to use the app. Since I already had a device setup with my app, it would not recognize the new device and kept connecting to my existing device. I then used my laptop to proceed with the network installation, which was very fast and easy. From initial sign-in to completion was less than a minute (it took me longer to type my preset key in than the rest of the configuration). I was pleased with the responsiveness of the user interface, and especially the network map, which replaced the old “Device List”. An updated section of the network map includes an internet usage tab that shows real-time usage of the connected devices (pretty cool). The rest of the settings were on par with those of previous Smart Wi-Fi devices. I then turned off the existing Wi-Fi and duplicated the SSID and key settings to the new router so that all my devices would connect to it instead, which they did. One aspect that continually irritates me is the addition of USB ports that cannot handle much throughput. I attempted to copy a short video file (300MBish) from the network to a 16GB USB 3.0 flash drive. After about 3 minutes it indicated 2 days to completion. I cancelled that file transfer and then stated one from the remote computer to my laptop, it took less than 1 minute. I then tried to copy that same file from my laptop to the same USB drive and it transferred it in about 2 minutes. I then used the built-in DLNA mini server to my streaming device. When streamed from the original source, my streaming device indicates an HD level stream, but from the connected USB drive, it was barely maintaining a low SD quality stream. While the performance of these USB ports is disappointing, I do not buy Wi-Fi routers based on these extra features. As a Wi-Fi router, this device performs as indicated. The range was better than I expected, which for me is the single biggest driver for my purchases. As far as top speed, my only 802.11AC device is a network bridge, but based on connection speeds, they are higher as well. I would recommend this to friends, family, clients, as well as using it myself in both home and small business settings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unusable product, half finished Linksys have produced a half finished product that works with a mind of it own. You would be lucky if it does not boot ever so often. The parental control does not work. Guest network is pathetic. Scheduling is almost unusable. The much touted open source ready is a lie. Linksys/ Marvell have provided a half finished software for it and they just one person working on the development, who is not available to work on it and keeps pushing features even like MU-MIMO to a future date.

From the day the router arrived in carefully engineered packaging to ensure safe arrival to the simple straightforward setup instructions to flawless integration into my network, I could find no fault. While the aesthetics leave something to be desired, I am confident that the design was prioritized to achieve maximum performance. I have over 12 devices on my network spread over the 2000 square feet of my home. All devices operate efficiently with adequate signal strength and bandwidth … even those that have previously failed regularly with other routers. The IOS app is simple and allows remote monitoring of the router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Price Frustrations! I bought this 2 months ago and have nothing but WiFi signal drop. I use Sonos, Smart TV's, Xbox and many other wireless devices. I constsntly have to reset router multiple times a day to reconnect all devices back to router. Forums and call in to Customer Service has resulted in "Try ThisTry That" with no true solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far pretty good I have had the WRT3200ACM for 2 weeks now. I have some computer experience. I have Rise Broadband as ISP. I had to install the router manually because the ISP did not recognize my device. If I had not done this with older Linksys routers, the instructions would have been woefully inadequate. Also, I could not get the ethernet connection to work until I established an internet connection. Once connected to the router, I was able to log on to the ISP. Magically, then the ethernet connection activated. Was a little unstable the first day, but has been fine since. Then tried to use the USB 3.0 outlet for a flash drive. The instructions were missing, just a picture of the back of the router. Took me about 2 hours of fiddling with 192.168.1.1 to get computer network to recognize the thumb drive. Still not completely sure what I did that worked. If Linksys is going to offer the option, it needs to provide instructions.

I am absolutely pleased with the performance of this router. I have four smart tv's, two of them have firesticks, I also have two desktop pc's and one laptop, two smart phones, four tablets, wireless security, two wireless printers, and a host of kids and grands that have their devices when they visit. Not once has this router failed to deliver under the most extreme conditions. I highly recommend this product for anyone who streams programs and surf the internet on multiple devices at once...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weak wifi radio, don't buy for Wi-Fi... Look elsewhere if you want a wifi router with any range. This router only works at near-full wifi speed within 10 feet of the unit (720Mbps max). Its radio is very weak. At 20 feet it has a maximum connection speed of 200Mbps. Outside that you get between 5-30Mbps. I'm running the latest firmware and have no interference issues. I've worked with Linksys customer support. I've even returned/replaced this router thinking I got a bad one. This router does NOT support 2.6Gbps speeds (or even 500Mbps speeds), it does NOT support "beam forming". It does NOT even support "tri-stream". I have no idea why all this is in the specs and printed on the box. On the plus side... This router has the fastest wired file transfer speeds I have every seen. Just don't try to use it for wifi.

I received my new router about a month ago and waited to really put it to the test before I gave it a rating. 5 Stars is really not enough. I have streamed up to 9 UHD movies at one (Wirelessly) with my family without any lagging or buffering. Multiple X-Box One's, live tv streaming, and large downloads all at once had no effect on its performance. Very little signal loss through my concrete walls in this 4000sf house. I have been able to remove all of my repeaters as I get full signal strength in the farthest reaches of my house on every story. By far the most impressive router I have owned. I highly recommend it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Router with nice features and great Looks. I received this router in exchange for my honest opinion. As always with Linksys routers it was very easy to setup, I set the router in a repeater mode and it has been running perfectly with no drops or hiccups at all, Very fast, very stable! This router helps me extend my network even further, I really love it, and of course it looks beautiful, the only thing I can say is maybe a con is the power brick is pretty big, but really that is no big deal unless you are using a power strip and you have little space. If your a fan of the WRT line of routers then you can't go wrong with this router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would Not Function Properly I currently have "blast" internet service with speeds over 200 mbps. My current (older) router easily achieves those speeds (200+ mbps) on the 5g network and I achieve over 100 mbps on the 2.4g. I installed this WRT3200ACM according to the instructions. I disconnected and actually turned off my older AC1900 router and I unplugged the modem for over 5 minutes and then followed the installation instructions for the Linksys WRT3200ACM. It took several attempts for any wifi signal to come out of this router. I used the Linksys app to update the firmware and it required me to once again reboot the modem and re-install the Linksys router. I performed every recommendation required. Finally, I had wifi from this router. However, on both frequencies, the 5g and the 2.4g the highest speed I could achieve was 6 mbps, even sitting 5 feet away from the router! I once again rebooted the modem and the router only to find I had no more than 6 mbps. I used several different speed tests to verify this. I tried reinstalling this router from scratch by resetting it and going through the same setup procedures again. And again, all I could get was up to 6 mbps. I disconnected the Linksys WRT3200ACM, rebooted my modem and re-connected my old AC1900 router and I was once again achieving 200+ mbps on the 5g and over 100 mbps on the 2.4g. I can only conclude there is either a design flaw in this router or the one I received is defective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wireless Range and Speed Setup was a breeze. Once I connected to the router with the provided password I was easily able to connect the router to my Linksys Smart WiFi account and set up the router password as well as change the name of the WiFi bands. The interface for the router is very easy to navigate and provides you with many options that are useful in any network. There are features for device priority, device names, dns settings, and even open vpn. The router even supports DD-WRT and OpenWRT firmware it you want. The wireless range is also great. It covers my entire house. I get signal all over and its a strong signal. I love the design of the WRT line of routers too, it keeps the look of the orignal model. Overall this is a really great router if your looking for fast wireless speeds and lots of features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for long distances This WRT router performed very well for my household it handled all my devices without a sweat. My Xbox is 86 ft. away in a straight line with many double thick walls between it and the router. A detailed network test on the Xbox said it has around 46% connection strength. It still plays just fine. The Linksys smart WiFi app makes setting up and managing this router a breeze. It gives you instant access to a lot of important settings. I haven’t used any of the other features this router has so I can’t really comment on them. Finally this is great router it did everything and more than I expected it to. I like the throwback look of original Linksys wireless G.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5ghz band turns Off & On This is the second (2nd) unit with the same issue. It's simple, the 5Ghz band just turns Off. You can reboot/restart the router, turn Off completely removing the Power for hours and still no luck. It turns on when it wants.. Yes, with latest firmware, yes, move channels around to channels not conflicting w/ other houses. The 2.4ghz band is still good but the 5ghz it's just gone.. :o( Use Acrylic to check SSID, channels other houses are on, speeds, etc. and gave you a second chance buy replacing with another unit. Well, it's going back to Sam's club to get my money back to purchase another brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WRT3200ACM BRILLIANT ROUTER Let me told you about my experience with this router, I ordered Wrt3200acm from Amazon last December and I got it on 30th,Dec,2017, directly I setup the router in my home when I look on the firmware it was 1.0.3.175384 which is the initial release, I keep it as it and start doing all tests as I already read about some issue with wifi before and already communicated with Linksys and they told me that lets use the router first to see if there is any Wi-Fi issue, the router worked great except with some minor bugs,then I did firmware update to latest firmware from Linksys website version 1.0.6.181063, and it seems that it's working fine. Today is the day no 9 of using Wrt3200acm with no major or even minor issue,as I would like to test each option in any device I have so I tested each option&mode in router and changing all sittings. Everything still working smoothly with great performance. Now let me told you types an numbers of devices connected ,8 Samsung android mobile (most of them latest devices like note8 and S8), 2 Samsung Smart TV, 1 Playstaion,4 Laptop with windows 7&10, 2 Iphone mobile and 4 linksys access point or range extender as I have very large house) and 1 DVR camera with 5 full HD camera) and everything working brilliant even though that my ISP give me speed 100M download/upload I got WIRELESSLY with 5g wifi 118M download and 101M upload with ping between 2-4. If you compare WRT3200ACM with my previous router WRT1900 AC ver1 there is significant improvement as I did many many tests, improvement in 2.4g in speed and range. improvement in 5G range around 20% better with 3200acm, no disconnecting happen to any device connected, also with1900ac I had problem in switching between router with extender or access point as the networking drop down then re connect now with 3200acm it's seamless like a magic no and never dropping in Wi-Fi with my mobile happened (I did within these 9 days more than 100 tests) even the speed and location of Linksys range extender that I have (EA6300, 1200ac) is show more speed in both 2.4 & 5g and the spot finder between extender and router show me like I move the extender near the router, even I had some dead spot with wrt1900ac but with wrt3200acm no dead spot at all, even wifi signal is STRONGLY STABLE(I am using Linksys high-gain antennas that I gave it before one star on Amazon as I used it before with 1900ac but it seems the high-gain antennas work perfect with 3200acm) , actually no thing in performance similar between wrt1900ac and wrt3200acm except externally they are the same in shape...I did many many speed and ping test the router was very stable and strong even downloading large amount of data through external hard disk connected to USP 3.0 in router was excellent speed and it did the job in short time, even wireless connection speed between my desktop and router reach to 867.0 Mbps. actually I never thought that I will get better performance with this router it's look exactly same as 1900ac but I found that the only common thing between these two router is the shape and color also I got with router (LINKSYS AC600 WI-FI MICRO USB ADAPTER) as Bonus with the package. I HAD NO SINGLE ISSUE WITH WRT3200ACM

I definitely notice enhanced capabilities with this new product and I am extremely happy that I have it. I believe the coverage has definitely increased, and I have found that all the connections are strong throughout a three-story house. I would get this router again in a heartbeat.

It downloaded an update while I was setting it up and that did something to the 2.4 ghz signal and some of my older equipment didn't see the 5 ghz signal. Took a few days for them to get back to me, but now it works great.

This is my fifth Linksys router in the past 10 years , I thought the AC1900 I had before is an excellent router but the new WRT3200 is by far the best I ever had !!! The internet speed test showed the download speed has increased by more than 100% compared with the previous one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing speed. More perfection from Linksys. First, I received the WRT3200ACM in exchange for an honest review. Here goes. Compare the speed of a bicycle to a rocket. That's what you get with this amazing router compared to other products. I have tried them all, and Linksys consistently tops the list with quality, reliability, innovation and ease of use. The increase of speed was amazing and there was no lag with multiple devices running at the same time. The 1.8 GHZ processor blasted through everything I was able to throw at it. And this is the first router to cover my entire home without a signal booster. Set up was a no brainer. The Linksys browser interface is easy and intuitive for even a novice to set up like a pro. And the straight forward design with all the information and lights on the front panel is a welcome addition. I did my best to stress this router to try to find a flaw, but it performed perfectly no matter what I did. I would highly recommend the WRT3200ACM to anyone who desires the fastest possible speed, easy set up, and reliability. Linksys did it again. But no surprise here.

It is fast, integrates smart home technology, and can handle modern day needs for wireless connections. I am so impressed with this router! Even though it has the traditional Linksys look, it is a high-tech, state of the art router!. The connection was the easiest I have ever encountered, and I love that it can sit up vertically, as I like to place mine on my desk, behind my monitor. There are so many features: Dual Band (2.4 and 5Ghz} Double band width for lightning speed on 5Ghz, A fantastic smart wifi interface gives me control 24/7, even when I am not home, through a smart phone app- I can see and control my network from my smartphone! It has a It also has Guest access, prioritization, port forwarding, to name just a few. The router can be customized through open source, too. This router is powerful! I have 14 wireless devices in my home, and they are all operating beautifully. One hint, if you have AI devices, security, etc. on your network. Name this router the same as your old one as soon as the connection walk-thru prompts you to. It'll connect to you other devices instantly, since there is no change to name or password. The dimensions are 9.68 x 7.63 x 2.04 in., without the antennas. The gigabit ethernet port is fast, as well- 10 times faster than fast ethernet! I highly recommend this to anyone with a large home, has multiple wifi Users and devices, or for anyone who just want to have the best! And the open source capability would be excellent for those who work from home.Did I mention that the the interface for the smart wifi is the best I have seen? The mobile app is great, too! Fantastic router!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed! I have been an avid fan of Linksys since my original WRT54G router back in 2002. I then upgraded to a WRT160N until my home security monitoring company said they had issues with Linksys routers and I then upgraded to a D-Link. Fast forward to February this year and I needed to upgrade coverage to my daughter's room so I came back to what I believed was tried and true and bought the WRT3200ACM. The setup was extremely easy and the coverage is outstanding. The admin interface is great for the novice and the advanced user. So why am I rating this router so poor? This is my second WRT3200ACM in just over 6 months. I kept loosing internet connection - which may be due to the MTU setting on auto was set to high.. I needed to back this down to a manual setting. And I keep loosing access to the administration page - both from a hard wired computer and via the Linksys smartphone app. 2 cases with technical support and I have exhausted all normal troubleshooting. I am currently awaiting a call from the advanced team... Perhaps I just got a lemon the first time, that why i went the RMA process. But 2 different routers with the same issue? Stay away from this model until someone finds the fix for this. I'm highly disappointed and think the next tool I use to work on this router will be my 3lb sledge hammer before I pick an alternate manufacture...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb router Running for two weeks. I live in a three story townhouse with a home office on the third floor. The router is on the first floor. Setup was simple and only took a new minutes to be up and running. I am consistently seeing 1300 Mbps through out the house, which is the fastest wireless adapter I own. I wish I could find a faster wireless adapter. I have about 20 devices connecting to the router and speed does not seem impacted. Very impressive router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Router! I received it last week and installed it right away. The setup was easy but I had trouble connecting to the Internet through wireless. After few tries I got the connection and it was all downhill. I use separate names for 2.4 and 5.4 band, my adapter is not that smart, and I use channel 1 for 2.4 band and 149 for 5.4 and all works fine. I got the long antennas with my router and they make a big difference for the place where my laptop is (the opposite end of the house). The signal strength is almost double for what it was with standard antennas. So far everything works fine, the signal is great and I hope it will stay this way. It is a replacement for Linksys EA6350 which was loosing the connection every hour or so and needed constant rebooting.

This router is not for gaming, no matter what i do; there are random ping spikes. it seems that I am not the only one suffering from this problem. Even if you connect your PC directly via ethernet disabled practically everything(eg. firewall, upnp, wifi) there will be random ping spikes. makes playing any games that rely on a stable internet connection unplayable. My ISP router doesn't even suffer from this issue. for everying else it's okay for a 1900 router, which it is, not a 3200 series router, which is misleading.

I just built a house and have spray foam insulation in all the walls and ceilings. This affected the internet speed. I got average speed results from the speed tests. That was the only reason I could not give it five stars.

From daily use the connection is stable i haven't had a drop since I started using it. If I had to complain about anything concerning this router it would be the wireless signal doesn't travel very far. I wish I could find a way to tweak the setting to increase the range. It would be the best if not one of the best I have ever own. Overall, I highly recommend picking this router up to help with connection issues!!!

For three years, I have been using another brand dual-band router with no problems; rarely ever needed to be rebooted (it lost power more often from local grid outages more than I had to initiate a restart). But my wife and I wanted something with easy-to-use parental controls. Good: Android app is terrific. I love being able to see what's going on from anywhere - in the house, across the country, etc. - I can get into my router wherever I am using the android app. Very cool. Fantastic parental controls. It is so easy to turn on and turn off wireless access to devices. Pretty lights on the front panel. Very pretty. Bad: You'll find people complaining about this all over the internet - and the complaints go all the way back to previous models and extend into the EA series (all of these have the same fundamental problem): dropped internet connections and/or dropped wireless connections. They first tried replacing mine, claiming my original one was faulty; the replacement was absolutely no different whatsoever. Then they tried replacing it with a newer model at no charge; I learned quickly the newer model is virtually identical, under the hood, as the one I have, and it had problems within 2 hours of me setting it up, just like the last two. The on board mass storage support is as poor as the rest of the market, so don't buy this expecting good mass storage support. Also, even with a perfectly fine partition on a perfectly fine drive, the firmware always shows a Partition Problem error. Yet another Known Problem that they can't/won't fix. The media server is equally as poor as the rest of the market, so same comment there.

Pros: - Very fast on 5 Ghz - Very easy to install - Great interface - indication lights Cons: - Expensive (look for sale) - not sure if it provides that much range (depends on you kind of walls) Had a problem with the first one after working for 3 days and died - had to exchange for another. Still have my old router as a backup.

I have owned this router for about 7 months and so far so good, love all the features it has and I have never had such amazing Wi-Fi coverage before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy router installation and setup I was provided the Linksys WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router to evaluate and provide a review. I retain ownership of router after completion of the testing. I have been testing the router for eight days now and can say I am impressed with the speed it delivers. Setup was so easy. Upon receipt of product I set it up in parallel with my Linksys 1900ACS router to compare the two side by side. Setup was the only difficulty I had - but that happens when you forget your password to the Smart WiFi page to add the router...OK - personal error. The setup without my forgetfulness was simple and quick. Plug in the router, connect it to my cable modem and then simply pick the SSID (broadcast name) provided by Linksys and enter their provided password - you are up and running. I then chose to go through Smart WiFi to make adjustments to the router - SSID name, password, permissions, etc - all very easy once you sign in. I am very pleased with the speed too - with the 1900ACS I was consistently hitting in the 275 to 282 Mbps range....with the new WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router I a consistently hitting in the 297 to 305 Mbps range on my wireless devices (iPhone, iPad and three laptops). Distance of coverage is good enough to cover the entire house from upstairs office (router location) to the main floor and into the basement. Signal remains strong. Maybe one day I will set them up so my 1900 ACS feeds the new router and extends the range unless I move toward separate plug in devices for that purpose - just to increase coverage outside of home. Have plugged in external memory storage and have had no issues with using that part of the modem either. I am very pleased with this router - maybe now is the time to look at VPN....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Router Improvement over 1900 The 3200 router is definitely an improvement over my previous router, the 1900. I've been getting a stronger 5Ghz signal ever since installing it, although the standard 2.4 signal is also excellent. Setup was easy, and I was even able to use the 1900's original power adapter. Great router. I noticed a slight increase in my speed, not significant although I did get a 4 point improvement in ping (consistently). As far as distance functionality I didn't notice an improvement over the AC1900 but it already has good coverage for a 5600 sqft home with two floors.

If you go to the chat discussion on linksys you can see all the people complaining about this. Nobody can figure out the fix it even with fireware update.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn’t work I didn’t want to write this review because of my previous experiences with linksys, which have all been excellent devices. I expected no less from this router. Upon setting it up and running a quick speed test, it appeared that this was going to be a fast router, however, within a half hour of setting it up, it lost internet connectivity. No matter what we did to regain connectivity, we could never get it to last more than about half an hour. Calls to tech support confirmed that there was a problem with the router. We tried to get tech support to send us a new router to test but they refused. We told them they could send us a new router to review, or we would review the one that didn’t work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this router!!! I have had this router for 1 week now and I am absolutely in love with it. Taking it out of the box and getting it configured was very easy (although I have had other Linksys routers in the past so my online account was already set up). I like that Linksys takes security serious with their routers as witnessed in their unique initial SSID and passwords, the option to use encryption in transit (SSL) on the router’s login page and the option to disable remote access (from the internet) to the router. The most important thing this router has for me is the MU-MIMO. With all the gadgets that I own I now have 40+ devices on my network. This router can service all these devices with the same speed and performance. The features on this router really impress me. I love the fact that it has USB 3.0 and eSATA ports to plug in external storage (movies and photos) that can be accessed by all my network devices. I also like that it has gigabit ethernet ports so I can move large amounts of data between devices quickly. As far as speed and performance of this router, I was very impressed. The tri-stream 160 seems evident when I am streaming 4K video from the Internet to my TV stick. All the connections (phones, tablets, TV sticks and laptops) to this router seem strong and the range is impressive (even on the 5Ghz band). I have not had time to mess around with it but I like the fact that this router is open source ready.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys WRT3200ACM Router Review I received this router in exchange for my honest review and feedback of testing the product. With that being said, I also want to state that I am not "IT Person". In fact, I'm just a mom who enjoys technology and the devices that are out there today. This is my 3rd router I have ever set up and it was by far the easiest and fastest thing I have ever connected. The product is really straight forward and simple to follow. There are much more advance settings that can be adjusted, but for the average non-technical household, there really is not a need to adjust these. However, its nice that they are there and available for the more knowledgable and super users. Once you are connected to the router and you login to the router, Linksys has a Smart Wifi dashboard that goes beyond my expectations. IT allows you to see exactly which devices are connected, their activity use and my favorite part is the Parental Control. Prior to this router, I would have to confiscate my son's laptop, iPad, xbox one, etc. if he was grounded from them and also the internet, or turn my router off to disable his access which in turn disabled all of our access which was not a favorable idea. With the parental controls, the router will block access to the internet by selecting which devices can be on and which can't. For example, I can have all of his devices routinely blocked from 9pm to 7 am during the weekdays and and 11pm to 7 am on the weekends. You can tailor each device for each day of the week without sacrificing the whole family! Additionally, I know this router can perform at speeds much higher than I am capable of getting, but I did max out on 100 mbs for downloads and 87 mbs for uploads. I only have 100 mbs with my provider and I'm certain that my upload speed is limited from the ability of my computer. However, this router is capable of gig speeds, I just don't have a way to test that. The only drawback I have for this router is that it is quite large. Its definitely not going to blend in so if that bothers you, find a location that you don't mind looking at it.

I was able to install dd-wrt on my old wrt1900ac, but for some reason it wont install on the 3200acm, after installation it reboots a few times then goes back to stock linksys firmware.

The first router that was shipped to me failed to successfully load the updated firmware during the automated setup. I completed the setup, manually updated the firmware, and everything seemed fine. Until I tried to log into the router again, and I couldn't. Then the wi-fi died. Then, even though it had a solid white Internet light, the Internet connection died. After 3 calls to customer service, they finally agreed to replace the router. When I got the new router it successfully completed the automatic setup, and everything seemed just fine. Until I couldn't log into the router. Then the wi-fi died. Then, even though it had a solid white Internet lilght, the Internet connection died. I called customer service, and they tried the same things they tried with the last router, re-install the updated firmware and reboot the router. After that everything worked fine, but you know the ending. Same thing after a while, couldn't log in, no wi-fi, then no Internet. That is when I went back to my trusty WRT1900 ACS. I've had that for 2 years, and never had a single problem. I'm going to hold on to the 3200. Maybe one day they will design firmware that works for everyone. I've very disappointed with Linksys. This product has been available for over a year now and they haven't come close to fixing the problem. From previous reviews I've read about this product (mostly from Amazon), it seems that some of them work perfectly, while others have the exact same problems that I had. If you like to gamble, order this product. If you need a nice stable router, consider the 1900 ACS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a Beast Replaced a Netgear high end router that would not work with Spectrum giving me unstable speeds and poor connections having to restart the router manually every day, the technician came to the house and having fiber optics did not find a problem I called Netgear support and wanted over $150 for troubleshooting and remote acces to my computer. Decided to give it a try and Sales person recommended Lynksys. I am really happy not only it looks great but it is fast hable over 22 divices including 3 streaming boxes, 1 PS4 plus computers iPhones and iPads, it handles everything easily and very fast, the range is outstanding 2500 sq home and I have signal well beyond that range. The app is fantastic, parental controls, DNS settings etc... and I love not having to manually restart the router every day but if necessary I could do it remotely. I test the speed daily and always constant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Router, Fast, Easy Set-up, Multiple Features I received the Linksys WRT3200ACM router about two weeks ago and couldn’t wait to take it for a test drive. Upon opening the box and removing the router, I noticed that there’s not much more in the way of items to unpack. All that remained was the instructions, four antennas, two cables, one of which is the power cable and that’s about it. The set-up was rather simple once I read the instructions, disconnect your old router, plug this one in, go to the web page and follow the steps there using the user sign-on and password supplied with the new router. I let the program manage most of my settings but made a few changes and was sure to change the router name and password to my own unique ones. Syncing all my devices to the new router was simple, but due to the number of devices I own, that are dependent on a WIFI connection, it was a little while before everything was reconnected, no fault of the router. To give an idea what connected devices I own, here’s a quick list: 3 smart phones, 2 iPads, Kindle, HP Desktop, Apple MacBook Air, 2 Think Pad work laptops, 2 smart TV’s, Chromecast, security cameras, Sony smart blu ray DVD player, Amazon Echo, as well as 3 more smart phones belonging to frequent family visitors, and two more Kindles for the same visitors. You don’t realize just how many things you have linked to the router until you have to reconnect them. As we have frequent visitors at our house on a regular basis, I appreciate the ability of this router to allow me to create separate guest SSID’s and passwords for them. The parental controls allowed me to limit internet access for my young grandchildren. Not that I don’t monitor what they’re viewing while they’re with me, but having that as an extra layer of protection is nice. Once the router is up and running, you’ll notice that the 5gh performance of the WRT3200ACM is a bit faster than other routers on the market. The range and strength of this router is great, movies on the iPads play without buffering and the video responsiveness of my Ring doorbell is much improved, no more blackout delays. And of course, the TV’s, DVD player, smart phones and other WIFI dependent devices experienced smooth, uninterrupted access. We enjoy watching a movie in the evening once we settle in from our outside activities, and with our Netflix, Amazon Prime, and VUDU subscriptions, we have various choices to pick from. Watching a movie through each service was great, no buffering, they all played smoothly. The nice thing about it was that no matter where in the house you were, if watching on an iPad, the movies continued to play without any interruptions, even if other family members were watching a different movie in another part of the house. As mentioned, I’m about two weeks into using the Linksys WRT3200ACM router, but I’m very pleased with the ease of set up and the performance of it. I’d recommend it to family and friends without any reservations. Please note that this router was a free sample from Linksys. It was provided to me for my review in exchange for my honest feedback.

The wifi speeds increased with hardly any drop off. The 2.4GHz is still faster than the 5 GHz but the 5 GHz increased dramatically. Its almost as fast as the 2.4 GHz. My laptop is about 35 ft away from the router that's going through 2 walls. Its up on top of my bookcase.'I'm using optimum cable at 50mps. My download times are at 55 and 56 with 2.4 and 53 to 55 mps at 5ghz. OOKLA. speed test. None of my wifi are Mu Mimo devices. So its much better than the EA9200 which dropped dead after 2 years. I hope this one lasts longer. No upgrades on the firmware yet for Version 1. But they already came out with a version 2

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Getting better with time. 4.5 Stars. I have a single band (2.4 GHz) FiOS wireless router/modem that has difficulty reaching the far corners of my ~ 3,000 square foot home. Repeater helped with signal strength but cuts the throughput in half so I was looking for a stronger router with dual band capability. There are 17 WiFi devices on my network. Setup was initially very easy. I have set up a dozen or more WiFi routers at home and work but this one was by far the easiest and most intuitive. To minimize frequency interference I disabled the FiOS wireless and used the same SSID for the WRT3200. The WiFi Smart Assistant App logged in immediately but subsequent attempts were hit or miss where I would have to close my browser and reattempt multiple times. Smart phone App was random as well. Once I was in I was able to prioritize the streaming devices in my home. It allows 3 devices for priority. After everything was set up I had 4 bars of signal strength in all corners of my house with the router centrally located. Now for the 1 star deduction. The first 3 days I had it set up it disconnected from the internet 2-3 times/day. Powering it off for 10 seconds and back restored the internet connection. Day 4 and 5 it disconnected once. Since the last power off/on reset it has remained connected for ~2 weeks with no disconnects. I enabled the automatic firmware update feature during the setup so I'm not sure if it got a push that corrected the disconnect issue? Since then it has been performing at the 5 star level hence the 4.5 stars comment in the Review Title. In summary: The $199 sale price from Linksys was better than Amazon plus it came with a free set of high gain antennas ($99 retail but $69 on Amazon). Set-up was easy. WiFi Smart App is buggy on my WIN 10 PC and IOS devices. Power out is excellent. 2.4 GHz reaches well into all of my large back yard but 5GHZ falls off as expected (Physics) near the back corners. Have not measured throughput but I no longer have buffering issues while streaming videos inside. Load times on our smart phones, tablets and laptops is much quicker using 5GHz. Additional ports for NAS, computer or printer expansion if needed. Immediately recognized my portable HDD for network storage and backups. Despite the initial internet drops I am very happy.

I also really like the fact that I can control and connect to this router using the Lynksys application. Also having now so many channel to select from I have notice a significant reduction of interfering on my smart home devices.. This is very important to me since I know that I have a lot of difference frequency in the house ( z-wave,WiFi,Zigbee, Bluetooth, etc). Now the reason I gave this router 4 starts and not 5 is because some of my devices did not connect automatically. Meaning I have the same setting (same password and SID) in the routers as my last one and most of my devices connected automatically to the new router, but not all of them, so having to go back and setup some of this devices was time consuming.. But other then that the router is great..

It is a new router Linksys had put on the market and I was taking a chance but I relied heavily on the Linksys name as I had older routers from them in the past. At this moment I am very pleased with it. I've given it a 4 star instead of 5 only because I've had it a short time although I suspect it will be as expected in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Broad Coverage I received my Linksys WRT3200ACM router on February 14, 2018, and had it setup the same day in less that fifteen minutes. The Linksys Smart WiFi App makes setup, configuring, and management of the router simple and effective. It is almost impossible to have a problem with the setup with the easy and intuitive step-by-step process. The Linksys WRT3200ACM router replaced my Linksys WRT1200AC router, which was about two years old. The speed of the two routers seem about the same since they are both dual band routers with a 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz frequency. But, the big difference I see in performance is improved whole house coverage, which is probably the result of the four antennas on the WRT3200. I, also, noticed that the WRT3200 seems to utilize my Spectrum cable speed of 100 Mbps more effectively. With the WRT1200, speed test usually were around 70 - 80 Mbps; with the WRT3200, the speed test are usually around 100 - 120 Mbps. The setup of the two routers were identical, but for some reason the WRT3200 router maximizes the Spectrum Cable speed. I am more than pleased with the WRT3200ACM router. I have never had a technical problem with this router or any of my past Linksys routers. And, I have always been a demanding user since I was a college instructor who primarily taught online courses which required large files to be both downloaded and uploaded. I have recommended Linksys routers to family and friends for years, and I never heard a complaint about their router experiences.

When it comes to routers reliability is essential for me, and for my internet needs, this router covers this aspect of my connectivity

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Flop?? My new WRT3200ACM purchased from Linksys arrived a little over a week ago. Reading the reviews here led me to believe it would be a cutting edge router with all the great WRT features I have loved on their earlier devices, but with additional signal strength, speed and stability. I configured the settings just like the WRT1900AC it was replacing and did the swap. All my wireless devices (cameras, security, tablets, computers & phones) seemed to connect just fine, however I noticed that signal strength indicators in both bands did not show as many bars as with the WRT1900AC it replaced. It is located in the exact same location with antennas set the same way. I have now played with the antenna orientations and rotated the router to different angles, all to no avail. I now find connections are not as stable as with the WRT1900AC. Cameras and security devices that virtually never lost connection before are now dropping out from time to time and not reconnecting. My laptop seems to stall occasionally as does my wife's. I hope Linksys is able to do something with firmware to improve this device soon or I will have to go back to my WRT1900AC, face that fact I threw away $250, and declare this thing a flop.

This happens regularly. Also settings are unreliable. I have DHCP client reservations set, but they frequently get dropped or mixed up, which is weird. Overall, this has been a very unreliable router and not one I would recommend.

During this set up I replaced a different linksys router with this new one. I used the same SSID and passwords to simplify client setup. This led to some machinations to get the new wireless router to kick in: At first I couldn't connect wired or wireless. I then restarted cable modem and restarted PC Then could ping 192.168.1.1 but not http. I restarted wireless again, then could connect. It would be nice if installing a new wireless modem could be done without all the restarts. Setup forces 5.0 network name based on 2.4 network name. if want different name I can't change at setup time. But I could change it once the setup was done. Using linksyssmartwifi.com is tricky since I used the same network name for 'new' and 'old' router. But it works well enough if you assume it only reports information about an active device. I was able to use terminal services to get to another computer on the network. This is a major improvement and one of my main requirements. With my ancient linksys this worked without issue. With newer Dlink and Linksys wireless modems, Terminal Services didn't work. It must be some 'bridging ' setting that I don't know how to set up. I was delighted to see it worked out of the box with the wrt3200acm modem. The browser setup doesn't entirely work with Firefox 49.0.1 (my default browser). Panels showing how to update firmware and how to change channel, do not display. Seems Firefox should have been tested with linksyssmartwifi.com (or 192.168.1.1). It works fine with the Microsoft Edge browser. So I was able work around this glitch once I realized that Firefox wasn't showing me everything I needed to see. It would be nice if there was some sort of search capability with the browser interface. The linksyssmartwifi on line router management is nice, but a recent Consumer Reports on security said its safest to turn this feature off. The modem can be managed locally without enabling internet management access. My internet speed limited by Time-Warner Cable (TWC). Max I can get is around 24Mbs. I do wonder how much can a gigabit router helps if max internet connection is 24Mbs? 5.0 connection gets around 23bps upload. 2.4 connection got half of that out of the box. Linksys support had me change the 'channel' from Auto to a specific channel. That fixed throughput issues on the 2.4 connection and reliability issues on the 5.0 connection. See attached photo of setup that worked. 5.0 Roku connection seems faster than earlier linksys router achieved. No hard data on that. I don't have a good way to measure it. But it feels a bit faster sometimes.

Before updating to the WRT3200 I was getting 38.87 Mbps Download and 21.57 Mbps Upload. After installing the WRT3200 I'm getting 216.55 Mbps Download and 22.52 Mbps Upload. I also like that the WRT3200 is designed to handle multiple users at the same time without dropping speed or users. I haven't had any problems with this. I like being able to sign into the WRT3200 from anywhere on my Android phone to control my network users remotely. I have several computers, printers, 3 Xbox, 4 DVRs, 3 Blu-Rays, 2 Internet phones, 2 Smart TVS, security cameras, and our family stream different movies at the same time without any digital distortion. The WRT3200 handles all of this load with ease !! Even the clarity improved to the HD cable TVs. reception.

Always a favorite for advanced users that like nearly unlimited customization. This router has next generation 2.6 Gbps Wi-Fi speeds using Tri-Stream 160 technology. Linksys is able to bond the 5 GHz band and double the throughput of older routers. Something interesting we noticed is that the 5 GHz band seemed very fast on our mobile devices and tablets. We are thinking that Linksys optimized the 5 GHz band overall. Buy this router if you operate multiple devices on your network. Linksys has the secret sauce that enables each device to get the fastest speed possible. Along with legendary support and reliability, you have a winner!

I must say the Wi-Fi signal was great, but the general performance is a complete failure. the router will work for few hours and suddenly there is no internet signal despite of the existence of Wi-Fi connection and there is internet connection between the computer and router through an Ethernet cable. When I reset it it will work again for few hours and back to the same problem. I called Linksys customer service and they decided to replace my router with a new one. Mahir Nouraldine

I was looking to replace my wrt1900 with something that could handle multiple devices more easily. This unit seems to do that and does it quickly!! When I think about how many devices use Wi-Fi in my home it's astonishing(2 xbox ones,1 ps 4, 2 laptops, 4+phones etc...). In my house range has always been an issue the 3200 has great range I am not even using my range extender!! The WRT3200acm makes all these things run fast and smooth(meaning no resets!!) I am really pleased with this device as with all my Linksys products and their performance is great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Familiar Friend! There was just something comforting about opening the router box and seeing the familiar blue color of the new WRT3200ACM router. I owned the Linksys WRT54G, like many other users, and came to depend upon that router's consistency. This router has that quality and more. Tri-stream routers have become the standard and this router has many features to put it at the head of the class. Double bandwidth, a fast CPU, and MU-MIMO all bring high speed and simultaneous streaming to your network. Then there's the option of using open source software if you so choose. You can talk about all those features but it's really in the setup and use that it all comes together. Setup was easy through the Linksys Smart WI-FI app. Each connection through the router is optimized through the proper band which means I no longer have to manually assign them. Most of all, the signal strength throughout the house was excellent no matter where I was on either floor. I never did find any dead spots. Speed was fast and smooth. Quite impressive indeed, by far the highest performance I've seen in a router!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built/designed well, great performance I have the AC 3200 currently running 10 or so devices: 1 desktop computer, 2 laptops (Windows computers), NAS, wireless printer, 2 android smart phones, smart tv, 3 tablets and a couple of guest devices with a 200Mbps cable internet service. I do not have the most challenging network environment, a bit over 1000 square foot apartment plus deck, though there are a very large number of adjacent networks very close by. The AC3200 may be a bit of overkill for my network but I consider the router to be the anchor of my network and did not want to have to worry about it lacking at any point either in connectivity/range or slowing down data sharing within the network and this addresses that need well. I am not a gamer but do stream music and movies between devices. I love the design/construction of this router. It is constructed solidly, nice durable antenna, easy on the eyes front panel lights (bright enough for easy readability, but "soft" not glaring) to let you know what is going on. This has more the feel of an enterprise piece of equipment rather than home quality. Set-up through Smart WiFi was a easy as can be. I like having the choice of using DD WRT, but Linksys native firmware meets my usage well. *As with any router, the default settings while certainly "usable" were not ideal for my network set up. Tweaking settings was simple, however, I knew that I was still not getting the best performance form my 2.4ghz band. I used Linksys on-line chat and they got me a call from their tech support. After a little further adjustments they helped me get the 2.4ghz band to the best settings. Kudos to Linksys tech support, much appreciated! The end result is that I have rock-solid connectivity, wired & wireless speeds that meet the max of my ISP's package/tier. Streaming from my smart tv is flawless, transferring data from my phones/tablets/laptops/NAS is very fast. Range throughout my apartment including the deck is better than any other router that I have used, on both the 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands. Note: While set up is easy enough for the most novice user, most users will get better performance if they fine tune their router's settings for the devices and environment that they are in. The AC3200 is an easy to use router (set and forget) for a newer/casual user while having plenty of power and flexibility for the more demanding user.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great range and features but intermittent? I decided to give the Linksys WRT 3200 ACM MU-MIMO router a try since it is a Tri-Stream router with both 2.4 and 5 GHz channels. This allows the user to associate devices to either the 2.4 GHz frequencies or the 5 GHz frequencies. I have found that I have some devices (cordless phones, microwaves, etc) that tend to interfere with some of the 2.4 GHz affecting my signals. The router is also designed to provide fast Wi-Fi speeds to multiple devices at the same time, which has been a challenge with multiple smart TV’s, tablets and game systems all wanting a piece of my limited bandwidth. Installing the Linksys WRT 3200 ACM MU-MIMO router was a little more cumbersome than previous Linksys routers I have used. I started by unboxing it and then attached the 4 adjustable antennas. I then plugged in the Ethernet and power cord and waited for the power light on the router to turn on. However, it didn’t. I rechecked all the cables, outlet and breaker and found no issues. Then upon closer inspection I noted that there was a small toggle switch on the back of the router just to the left of the 120DC power inlet that was in the OFF position. Not sure how it got that way, but when I turned it on the power light finally came on. I was then able to proceed with setting it up using the Linksys App. However, when the router info came up it indicated there was an update for the router that would take a few minutes…20 minutes later it was still in the updating mode with a locked screen so I shut if off. I attempted to then finish with my App but was unable to so I used a lap top to log into my account and manage to finish set up with no further complications. My initial impressions of the router were very favorable. I installed it in a 3 sided concrete walled basement closet where all my Ethernet cables converge. I then used the 4 outgoing Ethernet ports on the back of the router to hardwire my game system, dedicated PC and smart TV’s. I was very pleased with how easily it worked and additionally how strong of a Wi-Fi signal I got on my 2nd floor in the opposite corner of the house. I have needed boosters to get the same coverage with previous routers I’ve used. This great range may be due to the 4 adjustable antennas. I also liked that the phone App also gave me the ability to turn the internet on or off to any of the connected devices (wired and wireless). I can also set up a schedule for these devices. This is a great tool if you have kids that will not get off the internet. However, I soon realized that there was one issue that started after installing this router that is driving me and my family crazy. For some reason we seem to get disconnected from the Wi-Fi randomly. Doing web searches the tablets/PC freeze and I am told the device is no longer connected to the internet. While my kids are playing online games it suddenly stops responding. I have also been notified that my thermostat and or other devices are no longer connected to the internet even when no one is home and there has been no power loss to the home. I have reset the router and performed other tests and have not been able to correct the problem. With the exception of this intermittent connectivity issue the router has been great. However, I’m not convinced yet that this is a router issue and not an internet provider issue in my neighborhood. I will continue to trouble shoot and plan to update my review when more information is available.

I have been down with a brutal case of the flu, and ended up in the hospital for a number of days when it bumped itself up into pneumonia. So I didn't even get a chance to open the box till just a few days ago. Thankfully, I'm feeling much better now. :-) I received this new router as a part of the Linksys Friends & Family Program. I have to say that I was quite surprised to receive a blue router! The last couple of routers I've had have all been black, so this was a nice change. Every time I get a new router, they are easier and easier to set up! I put the four antennae on the new router, took some pictures, and then moved it into its new location on my desk. I disconnected the old router, powered down the modem, and then hooked everything up to the new router. Started up the modem and let it boot completely up, then powered up the new router. Voila'!!! I walked through the setup procedure with the online version of Linksys Smart Wi-Fi, and was up and running with my Dell laptop. I also connected my BlackBerry Passport to the Wi-Fi, as well as my ASUS Mini laptop. Everything works flawlessly, and I'm absolutely thrilled with this new router! Of course, I went out to Speedtest dot net, and ran the first speedtest with my new router. Check the picture for the speeds -- absolutely awesome!!! I am extraordinarily pleased with this new router! The speeds are beyond amazing, and I really appreciate being able to test "the latest and greatest" from Linksys. It's a joy to know that Linksys continues to make superb products, and I will continue to recommend them to family and to friends.

Firmware is says is up to date. I had better wifi connection with my Apple Airport Express. Return it to the store and getting a Netgear router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall Great Router The set-up of the WRT3200 was a more difficult than any other Linksys router that I’ve tried to set-up before. I usually go thru the Linksys app on my smartphone and it is a breeze, however this time was plagued by the router changes not being updated thru the app. I then proceeded to just go thru a web browser and try to set it up the old fashion way. This worked but again, took a little longer than I’m accustomed to. The speed of the 2.4ghz is average but the 5ghz bands are amazing! Im clocking at 1.2GB download speed tests. The range is decent for both the 2.4 and 5ghz bands. With a large apartment 1200 sq ft. Im able to get 5ghz anywhere in the apartment which is a considerable upgrade from other 5ghz band routers where I would get 1 signal bar. I set eveything up on Auto, which is also a change for me as I usually try out other channels to see what is the fastest. Again, speed and range are impressive on the WRT3200. The reason Im giving it 4 and not 5 stars is because of the set-up and speed of the 2.4ghz band. If one of the two issues I mentioned were better I would give it a prefect rating.

First, the item was well-packed in its box - good padding on all sides, without the usual Styrofoam. Thank you! Physically, the unit is VERY sturdy, but definitely not compact. There is nothing cheap or flimsy about the construction. Plugging in cords won't cause this baby to tip on its side. One negative: the AC adapter is configured to be horizontal in an outlet. That's fine if you plug it into a standard wall receptacle, but a nuisance if it's plugged into a surge protector or UPS unit, where the outlets are side-by-side (my situation). The set-up instructions were extremely easy to follow: screw in the 4 antennae, plug in the power cord, plug in the cable from the modem flip the power switch on and wait. Once powered up, I used a Kindle to watch the automatic software update. It did appear to hang at the end, probably because the Kindle was getting its internet over this unit and the unit reset itself during the update. That was very easy to get past. Using the Kindle and the Wifi Analyzer app, I performed a series of Before and After WiFi signal strength measurements at various locations in and around my home. While I don't claim the Kindle is a precise measuring tool, I believe that it is fairly consistent. The Before wireless router was a Linksys Velop, which I have had for about 6 months.The new Linksys WRT3200ACM is the After router using the 2.4GHz zone. Both routers were in the same location in the basement during testing. Here are the non-scientific results. Numbers closer to zero (like -40) are better than larger negative numbers (like -80). In my experience, a signal strength of -40 is spectacular; -60 is fair; -80 is iffy. Location Velop WRT3200ACM Basement Bedroom -53 -56 Basement Desk -50 -50 Main floor Desk -46 -55 Main floor Bedroom -63 -66 Main floor center -47 -49 Patio (outdoors) -61 -58 I concluded that the differences between the 2 routers in signal strength is negligible. The Velop router had a slight, but insignificant advantage in several locations. The WRT3200ACM was slightly better from an outdoor location. I was fully expecting the new unit - with its 4 antennae sticking out of it - to blow away the Velop, given its minimal footprint. That didn't happen. I then conducted a standard internet Speed Test comparing the 2 routers. If there was a difference I couldn't detect it. I then connected using the new router's 5GHz zone and repeated the signal strength tests. I couldn't detect any differences in the WRT3200ACM results from the 2.4GHz zone. WHAT I LIKED: Excellent packaging Extremely easy set-up; didn't need to install an App VERY sturdily built Multiple internet out ports - handy if you have PC(s) nearby Good signal strength throughout and outside my home WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE: Design of the AC adapter Large footprint Disclaimer: I did not test any of the more advanced features of this unit, such as the USB and SATA ports. So there are undoubtedly other benefits of this product that I did not see. BOTTOM LINE: this unit is totally adequate for my needs. But it really makes me appreciate my Velop wireless router, which matches the range of this much larger unit but is almost invisible on the desk.

As it had been years since I had setup the Apple unit, I was a little concerned about the Linksys setup but it was very easy and took less than 10 minutes. I now have a home system that is fast and has excellent range.

It requires a restart every couple of hours due to dropped Internet. Rolling back the update does no good.

My internet service is 200MB Down and 35MB Up. my old WRT1900AC gave me 188MB Down and 32 Up in the wifi speed but this new router WRT3200ACM gave me 50 Down and 25 Up. so is almost slow down my both internet speed in all of my wireless device. example Iphone7, Samsung S5, My new MacBook pro 2016 or 2017 and also my new iMac 2016 so i look up the internet and I saw many youtube video some people also have the same problem and some of the video said if you don't want to slow down the speed so you need to download OpenWRT or Dd-WRT firmware. And also it doesn't support IEEE 802.11b it only support wireless IEEE 802.11a IEEE 802.11g IEEE 802.11n IEEE 802.11ac so i need to changer all of my old laptop wireless card because is only support wireless 802.11b...... So is have two problem on this router one is slow speed and one is doesn't support wireless 802.11b

It was very easy to set up and access on my PC and it has given solid performance since installation. I am very happy with the router, it does a great job for me.

Just recently I purchased a 6TB drive to attach to the router as a file sharing drive on my wireless system. Windows 10 could not access the drive because Windows 10 has stopped using the 30 year old SMB1 protocol because it is not secure. In todays cyber world, security requires a new standard. I haven't found any firmware updates to this router that used SMB2. Will have to wait to see if Linksys will update the firmware beyond the current Ver 1.0 on their web site. You will be happy with this router unless you want to share a drive through this router.

Setup was a breeze and it's performance is remarkable. WiFi is faster than anything I've ever used. No more lagging when internet is loading or switching pages. In addition, the router's range is consistent through out our home and into the yard. Cell phones no longer switch between WiFi and 4G LTE when inside house, garage, or in the yard around the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Router What do I like about the WRT 3200 ACS? Easy answer, Everything. Have had both the original WRT 1900AC and the upgraded model WRT 1900ACs, both are solid performers. What is great about the Updated WRT 3200ACS, faster processor, MU-MIMO Technology, the ability to operate on OpenWRT, and blazing fast Wi-Fi. Read the specs, it is loaded for its price range. Have been reconfiguring my network system more intensely the last few years due to the huge ramping up of Wi-Fi usage, it has been an uphill battle. You should be aware that the Wi-Fi Bandwidth usage is just not within your home, but is all Wi-Fi systems that are in range of your network. Just like the freeway at rush hour there is only so much space on the Wi-Fi band for the data traffic. For one, I do not like going slow on the network or Internet. My network is highly used with over 20 devices that are directly connected either through wire or Wi-Fi (page one of my Network picture is attached) with a network backbone of three Routers, two switches and a repeater (for the garage.) The WRT 3200ACS has been setup in wired Bridge Mode to expand the wired as well as the Wi-Fi on my network. This provides me with four more wired connections on the far side of my home and Killer High Speed Wi-Fi throughout. What do I like, it is giving me rock steady maximum 2.4 and 5 Ghz throughput on my Wi-Fi. Attaching two pictures, one before and one after of my laptop connection speed. Before my 5 Ghz connection would be choked down to 520-585 Mbps now it remains steady at 867 Mbps, where my Wi-Fi adapter tops out. Since the addition of the WRT 3200ACS to the network I have “Finally” become a Happy Camper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faster than the WRT1200AC, same easy setup, config The WRT3200ACM is a virtual clone to the WRT1200AC that I was replacing as far as the physical appearance. Same blue/black body, same ports in the back, same power on/off toggle switch, even the same power brick (which is pretty large, so make sure you have space on your surge suppressor). The only distinguishing visible feature are the number of antennas. The WRT3200 has added 2 antenna on the side to supplement the two on the rear. It takes up the same space as the WRT1200Ac and uses the same indicator lights on the front panel in both color and location. Upon unboxing the WRT3200ACM and swapping it into the same location of the older router, I powered up my modem and then the router. Boot up time of the WRT3200ACM was about the same as the older router and as soon as a connection to the modem (and the internet) was detected, I proceeded to connect to the router interface to setup/configure the WRT3200ACM. This line of routers gives you the option to connect using the Linksys app to connect to it's line of Smart WiFi routers, where you can get to the configuration page of a number of Linksys routers all from one place. Or you can use a browser to access the line of Smart Wifi routers, again all from one online account. Set up the account and then add the routers as you add or update the hardware over time. It's convenient if you use multiple routers in your network. The first time the router is accessed via app or browser, a wizard is used to guide you through setting up the router, with several settings pre-selected or predefined in what most users will probably use for their networks. SSIDs, passwords, security settings, WiFi settings, etc. are pre-defined and at this time you can change them or use them as they were defined from the factory. I assume the SSIDs/passwords are randomly selected from the factory, but if you want to be certain you have locked down your WiFi, then go and make changes as the wizard walks you thru each step. The one thing you definitely want to change is the router password. Linksys sets it to a default, which is widely known throughout the internet. I noticed that the settings/configuration options were very similar to the WRT1200AC router that I was replacing, so I opted to manually configure the WRT3200ACM and not use the setup wizard. I wanted to go through all the configuration screens anyway to see if there were any new options that included in this higher performance router. Outside of a few minor changes to the menus where settings were buried, I did not see anything out of the ordinary. One word of note is that you should learn some basic terminology about networks and routers before digging into manually setting up any router. Even using the setup wizard would go smoother if you knew some basic terminology (SSID, channels, IP addresses, DNS, NAT etc.). One of the configuration utility pages allows a visual representation of the devices connected to the router that can be used to keep track of what is online or offline. You can name each device and assign an icon to customize what is displayed. I did this orginally when I set up the WRT1200 AC and for the most part, the icons and names carried over. Some of the icons got lost and were replaced with the default device icon and some of the names were replaced with the name that the router picked up from each device, but a quick edit replaced all the lost customizations and I was up and running without losing any devices. The location of this router was on a 2nd floor hallway table, fairly close to the center of the house. Signal strength/speed was substantially better than the old router. Using the app WiFi Sweetspots on an iPhone6s Plus, I was seeing numbers in the 140-180 Mbps range on the 1st floor with no line of sight and a wall between my phone & the router. The older router saw numbers of 20-60 Mbps. So coverage in a medium size home should be decent with the WRT3200ACM. If you need more coverage or speed, you'll want to look into a mesh router system. Overall, if you have an older router that you can't get enough signal or speed out of, this router should be more than adequate for most household needs. It should handle multiple streaming, gaming, or general internet browsing with no problems. The ease of setup was nice and in my case it was almost a straight swap with my older router with minimal tweaks to get my home network up & running.

The WRT3200ACM router looks like the WRT 1900 AC/ACS series of routers produced by Linksys. This device was sent to me free of charge by Linksys in return for a review. The box consisted of the router, 4 antennas, ethernet cable, CD, and power cord. The only disappointment was the size of the plug on the power cord as it is huge. It covers up two and a half power outlets on my power strip. Configuration took only minutes. Once connected to my ISP, I did a speed test and was amazed at the speed - 230 Mb/Sec - I am paying for 250 Mb/Sec. I then disconnected the ethernet cable and switched over to wireless. Wireless N works fine - speedtest rates similar to the ethernet connection. Moving on to check out the 5 GHZ bandwidth, my newer laptop did not see it, but I was able to connect using my IPad without any issues. Speedtest speeds were similar to what it was using ethernet and the 2.5 Ghz bandwidth. Of note, I have a total of 15 devices connected to this router and have had no issues streaming video, using the internet for other things or using any of the other devices that I have on my network. The network range is a little disappointing as I have a smaller house - less than 1500 square feet (one level) and the signal strength is about half of what it was in the room in which the router is located. So far, I am extremely satisfied with this device and would highly recommend it to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Linksys WRT3200 I bought this couple day ago, so far love it, the only problem I have is that for some reason some mobile devises get kicked off, I wouldn't mine if it was my phone! the problem sometimes my wife is the one that her phone, MacBook & iPad get disconnected, that is what I don't like because its a pain to have to be reconnecting when she will like just to get on and use with no problem, other than that speed is great no buffering, videos load so fast for like YouTube, range wise is no different than previous one, I had apple AirPortExtreme and the range on that one was a bit stronger but i highly recommend it its worth the investment even with the minor problem i currently have.......

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific in every way. I have been using only Linksys routers for as long as I can remember. My first one was a Linksys WRT54G I purchased around 2002 or 2003. From then on, I always upgraded to another Linksys every couple or three years. So now, I have the Linksys WRT3200ACM. I have a 2300 SF home and all my computers (three of them) and phones never have a problem finding and keeping the Wi-Fi signal. My Samsung S6 phone even remains connected to the Wi-Fi outside past the end of my driveway, about 120 feet from the router and through walls. I would never use any other router brand. Only Linksys.

I've had my hands on this product for about 3 weeks now and after first getting it on line I could not believe how far away from the WRT3200ACM router I could connect to it's WIFI signal! I have a large property and contemplated about going through the hassle of pulling a CAT 6 cable to one of my outbuildings for WIFI. With this unit I have more than 2X the range from my not so old Linksys AC Duel Band Router. I am so very pleased with this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horrible Router I bought this router mostly to replace a Netgear VPN router, which had proven to be very frustrating. I saw that this router allegedly provided an OpenVPN server. This router has proven to be far more frustrating than the Netgear I replaced. I used a manual setup on this router in that I have a unique networking situation in my home. I first manually updated the firmware (offline), did the factory reset, and then setup the unit. Things looked like they went fairly well. The routing speed looked good. However, when I attempted to test OpenVPN, I discovered that the OpenVPN did not setup correctly. When I saved the client config file, it was empty and useless. Googling revealed that I had to do a factory reset to get it to generate new keys (BTW, this is a common problem.). This is totally unacceptable. Before I got around to doing the factory reset, the unit crashed and burned multiple times. I kept losing the Web interface. Sometimes part of the configuration was reset, and on one occasion, the router fully reset to factory settings. When I finally did the factory reset, It looked like the OpenVPN service configured correctly. My joy was short lived. I could not enter user names, or I should say they were not persistent. When I attempted to connect with an OpenVPN client, the keys obviously worked, but, the error reported was user authentication error. This proved the server was working, but the user accounts were really missing. After one of the factory resets, the OpenVPN seemed to fully configure. I successfully connected to the server on this router. I thought it was happy time again. Wrong. What I discovered was that evidently the routing generally was not occurring from the LAN ports out to the Internet side. Neither could I connect to the WiFi using either band. I kept getting authentication errors. However, I successfully connected via OpenVPN. The last few times I factory reset, I could not get routing to work or WiFi. I got the conditions already stated. When I pushed an older, saved config file to it, it brought me back to the point of the router basically working, with the non-persistent OpenVPN users. I considered flashing this router with LEDE (OpenWRT follow on), but decided to try customer service first-since I paid so much for this router. That was far more frustrating that the original experiences! None of them could seem to grasp why I could not simply do a factory reset and then "talk it through" nor why I wasn't using WiFi to set it up. My home is fully networked. When I factory reset the Linksys device on my network, it wreaks havoc in that it interferes with existing services. None of the agents would RMA the device unless they went through the "factory reset" script. They would not elevate the trouble report either. I explained to them that I had factory reset at least 12 times and set it up from scratch. I got nowhere. For some reason I decided to try configuring the OpenVPN through the cloud interface. When I did, the router blew off line, and I was sure it had reset itself again. However, when I finally got back on it, everything was fine, and it has operated correctly since then. As an engineer, I am baffled; as a customer I am infuriated.

We have the latest smartphones, two tv-streaming devices, two tablets and three laptops running at all times. On top of that our two children visit from time to time and bring along up to five more devises. WOW, that's a load for even two-year-old technology. Instaling the WRT3200ACM and being able to prioritize devices has been the cat's meow for the tv streaming devices and of course my wifes' smartphone. Reliability seems very good and there haven't been any problems. Speeds are quite fast in both the download & upload ranges, however this is also affected by your ISP. Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Improvement Over the WRT1900ACS Even though the WRT3200ACM is a year older than the EA9300, I had high hopes from the reviews and research I did before receiving this router. It's not a bad router. It just doesn't have the range, for a large house, I was hoping for. Unboxing the router, it looks like the previous models (WRT1900AC and WRT1900ACS) I have tried in the past. The one thing I noticed is that the box size that it arrived in is about half the size of the previous models. Way to go Linksys for thinking about the waste footprint. Hooking it up was a breeze. Antennas and cables were self explanatory and ports were nicely marked. For the web interface though, when manually setting up the router, I would suggest making configuration backups from Linksys routers cross platform from one model to another. It would be nice to backup all of my settings from my EA9300 and upload them directly into the WRT3200ACM. Not a big deal but, would have saved me about 10 minutes plugging in all of my MAC addresses. Speed testing was OK. Hard lined, the WRT3200ACM matched the EA9300. I have a fiber connection and both routers averaged more or less than 900mbps. Wireless didn't go very well for the WRT3200ACM. I tested the range and speed to an iMac 50 feet away from the routers. I received 112mbps over 5ghz from the WRT3200ACM, and I received 189mbps over the 5ghz from the EA9300. I also noticed that one of my wireless cameras in the same room was having difficulty displaying frame rates on the cams web interface. Overall, I think the WRT3200ACM is a awesome router for the price and it out performs many routers I have setup. The only downside I see, for my needs, is the lack of range that I need living in a larger house. I did not feel comfortable installing the open source firmwares. So, I don't know if doing that would have improved any of my testing. In my opinion, what comes installed should make the product shine. I'll give it 4/5 stars.

The last week of usage I had to keep rebooting the router to keep wifi working. The SSID could be seen by devices. But they couldn't connect without rebooting the router. Sometimes 1x/day. sometimes every hour. Luckily I didn't throw away the old router. Also the Guest Wifi support is unsecure, a bit moronic how it works. Brought up another old router to use for guest access. This is turning me off to linksys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent speed with good (not great) range SUMMARY: Excellent speed, awesome features including the ability to use open source firmware. Lacking in ports but as tech evolves everything should be wireless so more than 4 ports is probably unnecessary. The range is somewhat disappointing in my testing but I'm comparing it to what is in my opinion one of the best on the market, if not the best, the EA9500. This router will work well for most households, apartments and businesses. DETAILS: My internet is Xfinity Blast and typically clocks in around 240/12 anywhere in the house with slight loss of speed in remote areas but still over 200/10. The router placement is on the 2nd floor and not centralized, but currently that's not an issue. I have 3 TV's each with a stick/box for streaming, multiple computers/laptops/phones are typically on simultaneously. With the WRT3200ACM the speed is basically identical to the EA9500 on the first and second floors, however, in the basement is where I see the range become an issue on both wireless bands. On the side of the basement closest to the router I see a 10% drop in speed. On the other side of the basement the speed is about half of the EA9500 and inconsistent. I noticed the WiFi on my cell phone dropped a bar so I assume the range is at fault. With that said, I'm still running somewhere around 100/10 in the most remote section of the basement which should be good enough for most purposes. Also, this significant drop needs to be put into perspective. At this spot in the house I'm essentially 50+ ft away, down 2 floors and behind several walls and doors. Also of note: In the past I've tried using Linksys routers as bridges and usually encounter difficulty with the setup. I tried entering bridge mode with this router and it worked like a charm first try. If I did not own the EA9500 I would give this router a 5/5 but because the range on the EA9500 is beast-mode I have to take 1 star away. I'm confident you won't be disappointed with this router. I would like to thank Linksys for sending me this router in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup I love the ease of setup with the Linksys AC320. I load the app on my phone and then step through the helpful screens on the app to setup the router. Was setup and completed in less than 5 min. Some additional time for the parental controls which work really well in controlling the time my kids can connect. Speed was very good and as expected no mater where i wet in my home. The Range was excellent even on a different level than the router. Excellent router over all and happy to have this device in my home.

The firmware update was automatic. My old router is a Linksys EA7300. The signal strength went form -55 dBm to -45 dBm at the farthest point in my house from the router. I highly recommend the WRT3200.

While I may not have the technical knowledge to break this device down into data that only an IT nerd can appreciate, I can tell you how it performed for me and the devices connected as part of the evaluation. I must say I have seen others reviews for this device and unlike some of the negative comments, my experience was excellent. Signal strength and coverage area is excellent. After a quick and easy setup thru the device web address, I took to the yard and street outside my home and was able to easily connect. Over the course of testing, my two grandsons played their Kids YouTube favorites, one television streamed Netflix and another television had Roku going, all simultaneously with no service hiccups. I also checked my email through my own tablet. At one point I had seven devices actively engaged and all performed as expected. My internet download speed is 25 Mb/s with an upload speed of 3 Mb/s if you wish to compare against your service. If you're looking to upgrade from another brand or earlier model Wi-Fi router with fewer features, speed, or coverage, Belkin's Linksys WRT 3200 ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router is a solid dependable router. There are certainly bigger dogs on the block, but this dog will get off the porch and fight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart router with the latest and greatest I have used many of the smart routers that Linksys has produced, and this iteration is the best yet, in my opinion. I have used this device for the last two weeks and I have had to reboot it a couple times due to channel traffic issues in my neighborhood, but I think I have that sorted out now. I had it set to auto, but after analyzing my signal against the others, I found most were using the same channels I was using. I changed them and haven't had any more problems. The smart features on this unit are what you would expect from Linksys. Accessible from anywhere that has an internet connection, I can monitor and administer everything from my smartphone. The speeds are great and the signal is good. Some remote locations around the home with many walls between devices may have lower signal quality, but this is to be expected. Overall, this is a great router and I would recommend to my family and friends.

I have a ranch house with full basement and I was using an extender on the lower level. I no longer need the extender and all streaming has been perfect. We have 9 items hooked up and no problems.

Some extender do not work with this unit. Have some disconnection from my smart phone. Gets confused on seperate G5 and other. G5 is faster. All is good for a 2600 sf ranch.

The router and antennae look like they are made much more high quality than EA6900 and all the other routers I have owned and seen. Setup was a breeze. Web interface looks a lot like the EA6900 but with additional options. The range is much better than EA6900. The Best part is that I can now stream media to my Galaxy S7 with MU-MIMO on 5 GHZ, Sony Blu-Ray 2.5GHz, and my Speed test to my Wireless AC 5GHz on my HP laptop at the same data rate, as when I had it hardwired to the LAN using Cat7 cable. Does EXACTLY as advertised! It is completely future proofed. I am going to make sure all my upgrades are have MU-MIMO.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perhaps Their Best Yet! I cannot find anything bad to say about the router's functionality! A good, solid router so far! I got it after their was a firmware update, so I probably missed the typical intro issues. The only suggestion I could make would be a more user-friendly access for the ports that are plugged in and out of (USB, eSATA, etc). For some reason, Linksys ALWAYS puts these ports on the back side, making it difficult to access.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super-fast, reliable router! My 5-year old N-router stopped working. I found this one at a reasonable price, only a little more than an equivalent. I will admit I had to use the 800 number for help to get it working, but in 30 minutes, I was connecting to my Samsung (Barnes and Noble) e-Book, and getting fast downloads to it (music), AND I believe this router, with the 1-year 800 number support, will meet unanticipated future needs, which is why I sprang for the extra cost. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it especially because of the apparent knowledge of the support team and international supportability, which is a possible future need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Biggest mistake I made was buying this router I have fought on and off for the past 6 months with this router, often giving up on Linksys and reverting to my much cheaper and slower Belkins, however they NEVER EVER drop signal. Either the firmware is BAD or the WiFi chip is BAD (or both ). I have never had a router give me as many problems.

At the other end of the house, streaming videos was almost impossible. Rather than re-wiring to the center of the house, I decided to upgrade my router to the WRT3200. I can now stream videos at the other end of the house!

The best part is that my internet is faster and has better signal reach in my house. I can hook up an external hard drive to it so anyone in my home has access to files we want to share. Very nice router and the "Smart Wifi Setup" make it super easy to set up even for someone with little or no experience.

I contacted tech support and after reaching level 2, the router was replaced with a new one. The new one had the same issues; speed issues. I have 30 wireless clients. They would all connect. Most are wireless cameras. With 41 clients connected, website would timeout or not connect at all. If I limited the number of clients, there was no issue. Have been working with engineering support but no fix at this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor Performance and Reliability I purchased this router new from my local Best Buy. The setup of the router was very straightforward. No disc was required. The web interface and android app were very nice and easy to use! Here's the bad part of the review: The reliability stinks. Flat out stinks! Within 24 hours of using the WRT3200acm the 5GHz radio began to dropout. The firmware was updated to the latest version but still the radio dropped out. Shortly after, the 2GHz radio started dropping out until both radios were completely gone. I did a 30-30-30 reset and it appeared to work until I finished the setup and the radios dropped out again. I took the router back to Best Buy and exchanged it for the same model. The second router lasted a few days longer but the 5GHz radio began to switch channels and bandwidth on it's own. I would reboot the router and it would go back to the channel I had assigned but after about 20 minutes it had changed channel again. I understand the router utilizes DFS on channels above 52 - 140, respectively, but I was sitting on channel 48 when it switched. Earlier today it started to kick me off the 5GHz radio AGAIN!!! This time I didn't even waste my time with a 30-30-30 reset and I returned it. I thought I would try my luck and shell out a few more dollars for the EA9300 (you can view that review at the EA9300 product page). I was hoping for a positive experience but was met with more disappointment. Linksys has definitely gone downhill as of late. Everything, except the reliability of this router, pleased me. The range was far superior than my previous router, and even better than the EA9300. The construction was a familiar design, as I've owned many WRT54G routers. The ability to customize almost everything w/o installing 3rd party firmware was pretty impressive. As I stated before, the web interface was definitely awesome and is what won me over the competition. Before both routers went haywire I experienced twice the internet speed than my previous Belkin router. It's truly unfortunate that such great looks, range, functionality and customization is absolutely shadowed extremely inferior performance and reliability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right out of the box - Perfect! I got the Linksys WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router one week ago. Because of my crazy schedule, it took me a week to find the time I thought I would need to set it up. Boy, was I surprised! First a little history. Up until this point I have been using a WRT1200AC Dual Band router. It worked great - its a Linksys product - right? That is it worked great when I had one laptop and one smart phone sharing the WIFI signal. But, after adding another smart phone and making my desktop wireless there were times when all were operating and the drop in bandwidth could be noticed. Therefore the WRT3200ACM was just what the Doctor ordered. The router came very securely packaged in a sturdy box with tight fitting foam inserts that kept all parts separate in shipping. Included in the box: router, ac adapter, 4 antennae, ethernet data cable, quick install sheet and user manual CD. I very much like the manual on a disk rather than having to go online to access important operating information. The quick install information was very clear. I took the old router offline, rebooted the cable modem so it had a clean handshake ready, connected the antennae, plugged the ethernet cable into the yellow port on the router backside, plugged the router in and using my laptop - connected to the router for setup using LINKSYS SMART WIFI. Within ten minutes I was online using the WRT3200ACM and very shortly after that all my wireless systems were on the network. Immediately I realized the data transfer rates were increased greatly just be the speed that my devices operated. I also noticed that where I had experienced a decrease in signal because of distance and walls within my house before, I was now noticing a zero drop in signal in my home. Linksys Smart Wi-fi is an excellent management app for setting up and managing your network. Simple enough for a neophyte yet offers options for expert IT people to create their own VPN, and much more. This router has a very secure and robust Firewall built in. You can even add an IPv6 firewall using Smart Wi-fi. I am very happy with my new WRT3200ACM. It's potential is great and I will explore the many options still available to me when can make the time to do so. Such as: setting up my own VPN; using the router as a web-server; create a hotspot and so much more. I will report back as an update to this review when I have explored these options. For right now however, I give the Linksys WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router 10 out of 10 and 5 Stars for - EASY SETUP, FAST DATA TRANSFER, MULTIPLE DEVICE POWER, and POTENTIAL FOR OPEN-SOURCE SOFTWARE MODIFICATIONS.

Interference caused the wireless to have issues, but Linksys support was able to make minor changes to get the performance where it should be. Open source software is also available for more technical users who need more configuration options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features and easy setup For the past few years I've relied on my ISP to furnish me with their Gateway device to serve as my modem and router. Previously, I had always used Linksys routers. Actually, the Arris gateway from my ISP was functioning adequately enough but I wanted to be sure I had the most up to date technology in my home network. So, I added the AC3200. I began to scour the web for an accurate set of instructions to put my ISP gateway into bridge mode, to allow me to supply my own router. It seems simple enough, but all of the directions I found on my ISP's web site related to this procedure, give you just enough rope to hang yourself with, and pretty much don't address any of the actual steps to complete it successfully. I finally found some helpful posts and was able to get everything working. Setting up the AC3200 was a breeze, and thinking back to my previous Linksys routers, they've all been easy to set up and user friendly besides. I was able to name both my 2.4 and 5.0 wireless networks the same as I had them when using my ISP's gateway, which made it extremely easy for all of my devices to just simply connect as usual. I have anywhere from 20 to 25 devices of all types connected at any given time on the 2.4, 5.0 and hardwired networks. I've had nothing but very smooth connections over all my devices. I haven't had any noticeable stutters when streaming and everything just seems to work with the least amount of user interaction (which is not to say that you can't if you want to, and I have). Before I switched, I had pretty good wireless connection speeds but thought that they could be better. I honestly expected a bump up in that department. What I got was about the same or a little lower than I had (around 25 to 30Mbps on average to my PC's). Since I pay for 150Mbps, I was a bit disappointed. Playing around with the antennas had a small affect on speed, but nothing worth noting. I attribute most of the lack of speed to the setup of my house (walls with HVAC ducts and returns, equipment older than 2 years old, etc.). My house is not an open floor plan. When using the Ethernet ports, they show my true connection speeds as up around 180Mbps (30 more than my internet package). I've always had good experiences with Linksys products and this one is no exception. The downloadable android app is a really slick way to access your router settings from anywhere you happen to be, and gives you access to all the same details as you see with the web application. A really nice touch. Aside from my overblown expectations, I really like this router. It's extremely stable and directs network traffic well. File transfers from my NAS drive are smooth and streaming is clean and fast. I've actually ordered the 8-port 4008 Linksys switch to go with it. If you're looking for cutting edge ac technology that's easy to set up and gives you a secure stable home network to add any device you can think of, this is a great choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but not great. I purchased this router to get high-speed 5.0 GHz coverage for my TV with Wi-Fi capabilities. My cable router is on the 2nd floor of my house, so I have the WRT3200 connected to it on the 2nd floor. My TV is on the first floor and the 5.0 GHz signal is too weak to connect to the TV. I have to resort to the 2.4 GHz connection. My home is not very large (about 900 sq.ft. per floor), so I am very disappointed that the signal isn't stronger. Perhaps it's because I have plaster walls and not drywall. I would recommend this router for perhaps a one story home that us not too large.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to setup and flawless to use - only one gripe I have been using this router for less than a week, but in that week I have found myself constantly impressed by the rock solid reliability of the device. Right out of the box I was impressed with not only the build quality of the device itself but the the packaging and setup instructions. My first adult router was was a Linksys and I have many found memories of tinkering and running third party software over the life of that first device. But over the years and through the acquisitions of Linksys the quality of the products waffled and in turn my brand loyalty waned. However, things have changed since my last interaction with the brand. From the first touch this router felt not only solid, but extremely well polished. It’s hard to explain but the product just felt good. This device was being swapped out with an Apple AirPortExtreme and though the Linksys lacked the modern stylings of the Apple product the Linksys felt equally refined and of a similar quality. If I am being honest I was a bit shocked. The next step was to setup the device and customize SSIDs. This was the step in which I was truly impressed. The device quickly booted and began the automated process of updating firmware and preparing me for easy management via the Linksys app. It’s worth noting that though app use is becoming a fast standard for routers, but a great many of those apps lack any real purpose or are mere portals for a web page. The Linksys app was shockingly capable and did not fall prey to adding in an app for pure marketing purposes. It’s worth noting that the other actively used router which is made by TP-Link has a pretty much useless app that is presently crippled by a glitch in my router’s firmware - multiple attempts to upgrade said router’s firmware have only resulted in heartache and headache so I have resigned myself from further attempts. Once setup was complete and the app was installed the work was done and I was left to enjoy the fruits of the Linksys Team’s labor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stabile WiFi, but router's time not syncing Overall the router has stable WiFi networks, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. However I'm experiencing issues with router's time sync and logging in with SmartWiFi cloud services. And since I cannot set the time myself, then parental controls and WiFi scheduling are not working (i.e. some of the router's advertised features are unusable). I've been in contact with Linksys tech. support, but with no success and the issue was not resolved. Hoping for a firmware update that will fix this, otherwise I will not have these features. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys "DOES" make a difference I received my WRT3200ACM MU-MIMO GIGABIT ROUTER a little more than a week ago. The first thing I want to say is just WOW. Set-up is so simplified using the Linksys Smart Wifi web setup or the LINKSYS Smart WiFi Android App. Initial set-up took only a couple minutes and from there the rest was easy. The router itself looks beautiful with its sleek design. The face indicator lights make it easy to see which devices are connected and seeing traffic along with signal strength indication. The back of the router has 4 ports for a wired connection if needed, a USB 3.0 port, and a eSATA/USB 2.0 port. Once I completed set-up, I port forwarded my gaming system. I then ran the built in gaming system speed tests and I couldn't believe my eyes. My speed test results were showing a 10-15 Mbps increase over my previous router. Not believing the results I then connected my laptop and ran speed tests using speedtest.net. Again, I was just amazed as I was seeing the same increases on another device. I ran more speed test using my Android device and the proof was in the pudding. I've attached screen shots of my before and after results. I took a walk away from the house and the signal range is unbelievable. I was getting full bar WiFi signal well over 300 feet from the router base. Amazing results on all tests I’ve performed. By far the Linksys WRT3200ACM router is the best I've ever owned. I will highly recommend this product to my friends. I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for my honest feedback.

Re-loaded the firmware still a piece of garbage. Tech support has been very helpful and they're sending me another router, an EA8300. hopefully it will work better.

I using it for 3 levels of the house without any dropped signals. I was particularly pleased with the set up. I took the cables from the old router and plugged them into the new one...fired up the system...and followed the onscreen instructions. All the items in our home connected without a problem and are working great. This is the best router yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 8 months of frustration Unless you like being frustrated, don't buy this. I bought one directly from Linksys and it worked great, at first. We do a lot of streaming in our home and this unit seems able to handle all the TV viewing we want, but the problem is streaming low bandwidth things, such as internet radio. We have a number of devices that can play music from such sources as Tune In Radio and Pandora. The problem is that the router keeps losing the connection. Playback lasts for about 3 to 4 minutes and stops. I've spent a number of evenings on the phone with Linksys and another night of online chat and the problem was finally resolved. Or so we thought. They had me eventually reset the unit to manufacturer settings and the problem went away for about three months. And about every month since then I've had to do the same thing, reset the unit to manufacturer settings. And now, even that does not work. Even after resetting the unit the problem reoccurs almost immediately. I asked Linksys to replace the unit as it obviously has issues but they seem satisfied that resetting the unit was a solution. The sad thing is that the unit is great when it works, but if you want to listen to streaming music I would suggest you look elsewhere. For $250 I expected high quality, not some junk that needs babysitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great modem but horrible media prioritze The device is beyond amazing, but I had many major issues that made it seem as if my internet was down or just plain not working. as I ran speed test I found that I was able to get 360mbps down and 30mbps up wired but as I did wifi I could only get 110mbps every single time, I am not sure why and I had my media prioritization on and this made things better so I thought. at the end of it all I was just about ready to return and decided to take off the media prioritization and out of no where every single device is able to reach 250mbps minimum on wifi now and with this fix I was satisfied but did not understand what the issue was and I am running the stock firmware and no modifications what so ever, with out the media pri I would say this is a great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up, fast 5g speeds. I have been running the WRT 3200 ACM over the past month with little to no issues. Set up was fast and easy. I opted for the DD-WRT software installation as I am not ready to attempt any open software installations. (That is a new adventure that I am planning on exploring). Upon testing, I found that my direct wired devices showed a substantial increases in speed over my previous set up. I am using a cable modem and had topped out at 98 mbps. I thought that my limit was 100 mbps so I was very pleased to find that my system is now running at 115-120 mbps! This bump in speed allowed me to download a 1.5 gig file about 15 seconds faster. I have used the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi for several years and am familiar with the program. No new surprises here, everything I expected was present and very easy to access for tweaking. The Android version has a new look that is more stream lined and easier to navigate. I don't use the Smart Wi-Fi when not at home so I can not comment on its performance. The 2.4 ghz band coverage is very good compared to my old set up. The ranges are about the same with comparable signal strengths. My set up consists of a two story stick built home in an suburban area. My router is centrally located upstairs with the majority of devices scattered around the first floor. There is no basement. The entire living area of the home has a strong reliable signal. Outside is decent coverage of 20 foot outside the back (lots of windows) to 10 feet outside of the front (brick and garage). The 5 ghz band was where I noticed the greatest increase in speed and range. Inside the house, my 5 ghz devices noticed a dramatic increase in speed. My Android smartphone almost doubled the speed from 45 mbps to 80 mbps. Other devices showed increases also. I found by trial and error that the 5 ghz signal traveled further through the house than the old set up. Outside coverage is substantially less. Of course this was expected due to the nature of the 5 ghz band. I have a 5 tb HD connected to the WRT 3200 ACM for accessible storage. Access is fast and easy. I have had zero issues with HD access. I am connected via the USB 3.0 port. The device itself is attractive and very reminiscent of the familiar WRT-56G. It appears to be very solid and well constructed. The 4 antenna screw firmly into the router and can be bent to almost any configuration. This is NOT a light weight cheap device! I did activate the Guest Access feature for some testing and it functioned as it should. It is a very simple operation to turn on or off this feature for when you have company. I do not leave it activated full time for security reasons. Overall, I am very happy with the WRT 3200 ACM in its design as well as function. I expect many years of reliable operation and look forward to being able to configure it with future features using open source programming.

Then a firmware update was pushed that broke the router, it's not worth the hassle, time and energy to buy this. Look elsewhere for your routing needs. The customer service is terrible, I would rather just have money back but instead I'm taking a chance on a different router. 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz wifi drops constantly, the coverage in my 900 square feet apartment is spotty when more than 5 feet from the router. It's just not a great router and is priced far higher than what it should considering how poorly it works. Stay away unless you want to waste hours of your life with technical support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best router I have ever owned I bought this Router from amazon.com a month and a half ago and unfortunately after some time using it I had serious problems with it and contacted Linksys support line for help, and they were so nice and professional in resolving my issue that after several attempts to fix my Router they decided to send me a new one, I am so very happy with this Router because it is one of the best I have ever seen, Linksys is my preferred router ever since I can remember but this one is just top of the line and I am very impressed with the signal level in my home, it covers very easily approx. 4000sqf. I highly recommend this item to anyone that needs a real power house of a router. it is the best.

The Router Auto updated and auto connected to my devices. I have a total of 12 devices, smart phones, TV's, Laptops, desktop, 2 printers, My Cloud, Rokus etc...The AC Wireless devices stay connected at a full 866.7 mbps. Also connected to my ac wireless Linksys range extender with no trouble. So far, has been a good performer with no down time. I normally will manually tweak the settings in the router but have found no need to with this particular router. Streaming movies such has Netflix was smooth. You will not be disappointed!

Netflix and Amazon rarely buffer anymore!! I have approximately 16 wireless devices and they all work great with this router. I have had no problems with dropping the wifi.. I really like this router

Just changed the cables from the old router to the new one...powered up...and followed the on-screen instructions. Easy. It automatically found everything. I do believe I am seeing faster performance on both wireless channels too. NO COMPLAINTS.

It has a faster Central Processing Unit (Dual Core 1.8 GHz vs 1.2 GHz) than the WRT 1900 AC, it has double Flash and Ram Memory, it has same connections in the back, and most importantly it has the tri Stream 160 which can achieve speed up to 2.6 Gbps (double its predecessor). The MU-MIMO feature helps stream separate TX signals to multiple devices and maintain the same speed. The Setup took less than 5 mins, you can use the existing Wireless Network Name and password or you can use a web browser to launch Smart WIFI Router setup so that you can use the online app and control the WIFI settings from anywhere in the world. The Linksys App can be downloaded from the Android Play Store or the Apple App Store. You need to register and follow the online steps to complete the setup. I love the parental Control and Device prioritization features in the apps. This is definitely an upgrade over the existing WRT 1900 AC, it can handle more devices and reach more areas in the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fastest router I have ever seen! It arrived in a well packaged box. Once opened and put together, I started configuration. I did all my configuration via the iPhone Linksys App. Typical configuration, even for a novice is about 15 minutes. Mine took longer because I took photos and I also did network speed testing though out my home. I had to time the setup carefully while my family was asleep because I had to take down the entire network which is a big consideration for large homes or small businesses. I speed tested by putting my phone into airplane mode and only turning on the WiFi connected to the new network while going to the furthest corners of our house and it worked extremely well on the 5.8Ghz network -- even from 2 floors below, it was was almost like I was in front of the router with the throughput I was seeing. I was even able to get decent reception and throughput from the street in front of our home. I also tested device prioritization as well as parental controls. I telecommute so I need to ensure that my work computers always get preferred bandwidth. I was also able to turn on and off connected devices and validate that they were unable to connect to the internet. It has everything a family or small business would need to keep anything and everyone in line with best practices for safe computing. I would recommend this router to anyone thinking about upgrading. The retail price is very reasonable for the amount of router power provided. I am permanently leaving this as part of my Linksys network and making it my superhighway to the outside world!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install Bought this to replace WRT1900 which was working fine. I have 6 items connected at all times. Both wife and I work from home and need reliable/fast connection. She's plugged into router but i'm at other end of house using Wifi. I'd say i'm a good 60-70 feet away and around 3 different corners in the house. (ranch style home) I immediately noticed connection to the 5GHZ was faster. I had 2 bars and now 5. Our isp says we get 100Mbps. My wifi connection went from around 50 to 85 but i've noticed at times (as you can see) it drops off. Probably not the routers fault. We're out in the country using Wave Broadband. (only choice) The 2.4 side is a very strong connection throughout house, back yard and garage. Even across the street. I have range extender for that. I use a max stream AC600 wifi micro usb adapater for nic. It's by my feet under the desk. Probably not best location. Overall- The router is a bit spendy but works very well. Happy user. I rated speed a 4 star, only due to the wifi to this PC- Maybe Linksys will send me a new dual band range extender... :o)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now my phone works along with everything else! I run a home based business and live in a remote area outside of any metropolitan areas. I needed a router that I could assign one channel just to handle my cellular calls over wifi since I have no towers near me. My former router was not able to run both of my computers, tablets and phone on separate channels. In addition, the router throttled down the speed to 20 megs over wireless even though the fiber coming to the office was at 100 megs. I was never able to figure out how to override that setting. When I unboxed the new Linksys WRT3200ACM I anticipated a long process getting things set up and running. It was a pleasant surprise to see the router begin working immediately. Using the Smart WIFI setup I was able to view all of the equipment running on the router and easily assign the phone its own channel and now works with every call instead of dropping 3 out of 4 calls. I keep my main work computer cabled to the router and was pleased that no conflicts appeared as was the case with my past router. I have the full 100 meg speed while hard wired. I did notice the speed dropped to 80 megs on my laptop using WIFI. That is still much faster than before. The USB 3.0 was quick to find the external hard drive and I was able to access it right away. The Linksysmartwifi.com control panel is very nice to work in. There are a number of settings that a novice can use to create a unique profile like I use. I did see where an advanced user can create very customized settings. I am not that person. I appreciate that the router is made for average users and pros alike. I did purchase the extended range antennas (optional) and that seems to allow me further range than before. I cannot attest to the reliability of this router as I have only had it a week. I will update this review if I develop problems.

The router has developed a fault in which well-documented at https://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/WRT3200-ACM-dropping-internet-connections/td-p/1089636. Further research has indicated that this issue develops over time, just beyond the return time of our retailer. The warranty only covers a replacements, probably with refurbished gear, which will only have a 90-day warranty. The product is fundamentally defective.

My WRT3200ACM remains rock-solid in terms of signal strength, range, and connectivity...in fact I have had no need to re-boot it since I set it up. An observation: Most folks who buy the WRT series of routers tend to be really "hands-on" router users who like to get into the finer details of their network settings, and of course, this is a great choice for those who do. However, this router is every bit as good for those who prefer to "set and forget" but are still looking for a router that gives them great performance and reliability. If you have a lot of devices on your network, need to cover a large home, and/or have a fairly robust Internet Service plan, you do not have to be a DD-WRT/third party firmware user to get very good performance from this unit, and the Smart WiFi makes this a very, very easy router to set up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Router of the Future I received the Linksys WRT3200 ACM router from Belkin International for review. I had the WRT1900ACS. I was extremely happy with its performance. The new router is definitely worth the upgrade. The outside design is identical to the older model but the inside is a huge improvement and packed with many powerful features. The setup was a breeze. The setup instructions were very easy to follow. When I got the router running, the WiFi speed was doubled on the 5GHz. Did not see any difference in speed using the 2.4 GHz band. The signal range is phenomenal. With this router you do not need a range extender. I have multiple laptops, iPads, iPhones and a WiFi security system in my household. All devices work beautifully on the two WiFi networks I set up. The Smart WiFi dashboard is well organized and user friendly. Not sure about the Tri-Stream 160 technology feature. It is supposed to deliver the fastest 5GHz band on the market. I called my internet provider technical support to inquire if they provide this technology and the answer was No. So, hopefully some day this technology will be available and I'll upgrade having this router already available. Additionally, the Linksys Smart app is very intuitive and easy to use. Love the feature of managing my WiFi settings from anywhere. This router is a total package of speed, range and future technologies that is definitely worth upgrading to. The photos show the WRT1900 and WRT3200 side by side, and a speed test screen shot of the phenomenal speed the WRT3200 delivers.

I haven't really noticed a big increase in speed over my older Linksys router, but the range is definitely better. What used to be pretty much dead spots in my house now get a strong wifi signal from this router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Dissapointed I received this router free from Linksys with the agreement to make a review for it. Well it is not the best one I have ever used for sure. I have a 3000 sq ft house and I currently use the Velop system from Linksys in it. The WRT3200ACM is very dissapointing in 2.4ghz range. I have to restart the thing all the time. I used it with the standard software and with a custom software as this router allows the use of DD-WRT software as it is open source. I still get the same problem with the 2.4ghz range no matter what firmware I use. I was really excited about using the custome DD-WRT firmware for my gaming streams but alas I could not get it to run for more than 8 hours before I would have to reboot it. Now as far as setting up the router it was easy. I did it through a web browser. I used chrome and it installed and was up and running it minutes. I used Linksys smart wifi app on my android smartphone to mess with the setting of the WRT3200ACM and everything was very easy to adjust. The looks and design of the router are very sharp and the added USB ports are great. I hooked up a 3.0 usb drive to it and was able to share the drive over the network with ease. All in all if this router did not lose the 2.4ghz range all the time it would be a great router for the price. Hopefully Linksys figures this bug out and maybe releases a new firmware that fixes this. Though I really like the ease of using custome DD-WRT firmware with ease without having to hack and risk bricking the router as was the custom in the past.

My "connected" home has 15 connections to the router and all work well with no interruptions. My only complaint is that the coverage hype never lives up the claims. While adequate at the fringes, the coverage is no better than my previous AC1200, even with the optional longer antennae.

Overall performance verses my 4 year old WD N900 router is much better; improved signal strength, improved throughput and so far no drop outs. I started getting drop outs on the old router when we exceeded 12 devices, the WRT has run flawlessly with up to 21 devices so far. The unit runs quiet and cool – no fan needed, which is nice since fan noise can be quiet annoying. I manually configured the router (enter 192.168.1.1 into your browser) and used “Smart Setup Tool” to get connected to the internet and do a basic configuration, the setup tool makes this very easy. After that I manually edited a few parameters to “personalize” the network, simplify management and optimize performance as follows: Changed name of the 5GHz network rather than accept the default of “Name of 2.4Ghz” appended with _5Ghz. Edited the guest network names and password and turned it off, I will switch it on if needed. Renamed some of the devices on the network map so that it is obvious which device is which. This make the network map much more useful. Edited the Host Name and Network Name, personal preference. Turned off the ability to manage this router wirelessly via Linksys Smart Wi-Fi (Connectivity – Administration tab) to reduce the chance of a wireless hack. Wireless networking defaults were not optimal for our network so I made the following changes: Set the 2.4 GHz network to 802.11gn. This router does not support 801.11b so I don’t think there is a difference between the mixed setting and the 802.11gn setting. I don’t have any legacy b only devices so this is not a problem. Not supporting 802.11b avoids the 2.4 GHz radio having to do gymnastics to talk to any b devices this helps 2.4 GHz throughput and avoids the slight decrease in n or g throughput that results from a mixed (with b) setting. I thought about using n only but since g and n can play together (the overhead associated with sending a legacy preamble before the HT preamble is small and g devices can interpret the n preamble) I left g available. I left the channel width setting on auto and it selected 40 MHz i.e., twice the width and double the data rate of the legacy channels. Set the 5 GHz network to ac only to allow optimum 5 GHz performance, I left the channel width setting on auto and it selected 80 MHz i.e., four times the width and four times the data rate of the legacy channels. I am not quite sure what they mean in the advertising info with regard to 160 MHz channel width since this device only has 4 antennas and 6 are needed to get 160 MHz bandwidth. I left the channel selection on auto for both networks. Restricting the router protocols has some potential disadvantages: 1. Legacy devices that are restricted to 2.4 GHz b and/or 5 GHz a and n only will not be able to connect, so if you have older devices this might be a problem. 2. If there are devices running 2.4 GHz b and 5 GHz a and n nearby they might interfere with your network and your network router might interfere with them. I am too far away from my neighbors for this to be a problem but if your neighbors are close you should probably use mixed mode. Given that the 802.11g protocol was released in 2003 and that manufactures built 802.11g chipsets before 2003 I doubt that many people have many 802.11b devices only. I would like to know if there is a difference between the between the 2.4 GHz mixed setting and the 2.4 GHz 802.11gn setting. Does the router listen for 802.11b signals and back off to allow legacy transmission to a legacy router when 2.4 GHz mixed is selected? I called tech support but the person I spoke too did not seem to know what I was talking about. Some users have reported signal strength gains, I measured the signal strength (using a Wi-Fi Analyzer on my phone) before and after installing the new router (in the same location). On the 2.4Ghz band the signal strength increased by an average of 3dB (double the power) running g and n protocols. This is not a huge improvement but will help in areas with marginal signal strength that are prone to signal drop outs. The increase in signal strength on 2.4Ghz varied from -1dB to 8dB, in looking at the results it looks like beam forming is working and increasing the signal strength in the areas with 2.4Ghz devices with up to an 8dB increase and an average of 4.5dB. On the 5 GHz band the signal strength increased by an average of 16dB (40 times the power) running mixed mode. This made some previously unreachable (for 5G Hz) areas of the house usable for Wi-Fi and is a great gain in signal strength. The 5 GHz radio designs have probably got a lot better in the last few years and this result alone is a good reason to buy this router. The increase in signal strength varied from 11dB to 20dB and did not seem to be affected by beam forming (possibly due to the fact that phone that I used to take the measurements was on the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network when I took the measurements). It is a good idea to back up your router configuration (Troubleshooting – Diagnostics tab) to allow a quick restore in the event you have to reset your router. The Troubleshooting Status report pages are very nice to have. It would be nice if you could search the router help information embedded on the router. The user guide does not cover as much as the help information on the router and he use of screen shots in the manual limit your ability to search (e.g., you cannot find Backup or Restore by searching the user manual). I am very happy with this product.

When unboxing the router, you will notice that the product build quality is second to none and even the box it comes in first class. Not the average cheap vanilla router box that is an indication of probably how the router was built and will perform. Set up was a breeze even for a novice-the router automatically updated to the latest Linksys firmware available, which is a nice feature. I have put the WRT3200ACM to the test and have had many routers over the years from different manufacturers. We are heavy users of the internet and streaming on a consistent basis. The WRT3200ACM is a rock solid performer- no connection drops whatsoever and provides great signal coverage in my home. My home configuration and numerous wall structures made it difficult for other routers to provide signal coverage range. Also many homes nearby that made wireless congestion a major problem for less quality routers. No so for the Linksys router-we have great signal in all rooms in our home and congested signal in our area were no match for the WRT200ACM. We use AT&T Uverse internet and are finally getting great connection speeds we are paying for on a consistent basis. As indicated earlier the initial router setup program walks you completely thru the initial setup process. The router's web interface is very easy to access,use,and understand. Making changes to the router settings is quick and easy to accomplish. This is the first router that I've had in recent memory that I do not need to "babysit" on a consistent basis because of connection issues or needing to constantly change settings to keep it going. The WRT3200ACM is a recommended buy and can be summed up as a high quality router that provides great performance on a consistent basis in any environment. My review title says it all-solid high performance router & a quality product. Congrats Linksys on a job well done with the WRT3200ACM.

It does't play nice with Apple products. I have spent some time with technical support which helps but we still have occasional issues with Apple products. It works great with Windows computers and Android devices. I would highly recommend this Wi-Fi Router for an environment without Apple products.

I have a $80 Netgear N750 that is giving me straight-from-modem speeds of 100-130 mbps when wired, and about a 10 mbps loss to around 90 mbps on wifi, depending on distance. The Linksys gave me half of these speeds, ethernet cable or wifi. I spent hours with Linksys support, who did try hard to solve the issue, but ultimately told me the router was defective and that there was no other reason why the router would be giving me half-speed. Disappointing, especially considering the price point. I took the router back though Linksys did offer to have me ship it in for warranty work. Nah...I think not. I'll stick with my working out of the box Netgear.

After setup the router did an update which went perfect. I've been using this router for about 2 weeks now without any drops in wifi and the speed is awesome! The coverage this router gives is great with no dead spots in my home, which is about 1900 sq feet. I stream everything to my tv's, iphones, amazon fire boxes, computers and printers with no slow down. Linksys hit another home run with the WRT3200ACM, I highly recommend this router.

After running diagnostics and downloading updates, it went right to the set up page and essentially walked me right through the set up process. The jump in speed and range is impressive. I also liked the option of giving your "guests" 2.4GHz and 5GHz access. It's been working perfectly since I plugged it in. I Replaced a WRT1900AC router which I’ve been using for the last four years, and never had one problem with it either. I’ve been using Linksys routers and switches for over 17 years now and have never had one problem with any of them. My configuration of the WRT3200ACM sits on top matching Linksys Switches that are connected into the this router. Printers and other ancillary items are plugged into switches so we are using both wired and wireless features of this router. This router exceeded all of my expectations, by far the furthest reaching 2.4GHz and the 5GHz Wi-Fi bands I've ever experienced, amazingly handy included features like device priority, and it handles 8+ full time devices in our home, and I don't regret updating from my WRT1900AC for this premium router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Setup, Works smoothly I received the Linksys WRT3200ACM 2 weeks ago, and I have been happy with the router so far. I am comparing it to my current Velop 2 node system, and a prior WRT1900ACS. Setup: Very straightforward and easy. Even simpler than my Velop, which required use of a smartphone app and bluetooth. This only needed a web browser and was done in about 3 minutes. The setup was done automatically, and almost all of my devices re-connected immediately (since I used the same SSID as before). The web interface was simple and easy to follow. Signal Strength: I found that the WRT3200ACM made it easily to all parts of my house, without much strength loss. It is easily on par with my 2-node Velop system. Speed: My internet speed isn't the fastest at baseline, but the speed throughout the house was able to max out the speed provided by my ISP, and was equal to my Velop system. I wasn't able to test "intranet" speeds, but I imagine that it will be no different than prior routers. Perhaps if I had more MIMO type devices, I would be able to confirm increased throughput. Ports: Has the standard USB, and USB 3/eSATA for an external hard drive. 4 ethernet plugs as well are standard, all of which is similar to my old WRT1900ACS. My Velop 2 node system only has 3 available ethernet ports and no ability for external hard drives via USB. Definitely helpful to have more ports for my smart home bridges, etc. Overall Evaluation: For most users, a router is meant to be a set-and-forget device. Setup needs to be simple, which Linksys has done a great job with. If you have multiple MIMO capable devices or need a future proof router, go with the WRT3200ACM. If you don't need the top of the line, a slightly older Linksys router may save you a few $ but will serve your needs as well.

That’s very impressive. Not a single week spot in my house. Even in my new family room that used to be a two car garage. I was worried about the brick fire place blocking the wi-fi in the new room but it did not. list of everything I have hooked up. Wired Wireless 1 Computer 2 Computers 3 DVR's 4 Tablets 2 Roku's 1 Fire stick, 2 Chrome Cast Xbox One, 360 5 Cell phones, Printer PS3 5 Alexa's, 2 echo's ,3 spots and 5 TP-link plugs, Nest T-stat 1 Smart TV I have the router in the center of my house about 5.5 ft. up on computer hutch. Not a single problem handling all the devices and speed test all at max when testing in different rooms. Set up was easy and has exceeded all expectations. I like the simplicity of the LinksysSmartWifi for managing the router. Lot's of opitions to play with. Overall, it’s the best router I have ever owned. Bonus it matches my custom Lego X-wing that I made.

Multiple devices would not function properly - wildly fluctuating upload / download speeds - dropping connections. Poor Linksys support. Re-installed my old Linksys WRT 1900 ACS - and everything back to normal. Solid connections with good Mbs/per sec speeds. Returning the WRT 3200 ACM to Linksys for a full refund.

No complaints though, these things don't last forever! The Linksys 3200 was recommended by a friend and was super easy to set up and configure. Performance so far has been great! Seems much faster and connectivity has been rock solid. Not in a huge house, but range seems to be great as well. Really cool cell phone app to help you manage connectivity and grant access to visitors. So far, it's all good!

I highly recommend creating a Linksys Smart Wifi account that way you can manage your router from your mobile device. This router has many more improvements than its predecessors (WRT1200 and WRT1900 ACS). The network map is by far one of favorite features of this router's management console at Linksys Smart Wifi. I have multiple devices connected ranging from Windows, Mac, OSX, Android and Linux operating systems. No issues on any thus far and the total count is 15 devices ranging from personal computers to IoT devices such as Nest products. The multiple Ethernet and USB ports are very beneficial especially if you wish to connect a NAS to it. The lights on the front provide great visibility on the various status of the router such as Internet, WiFi Bands, ports and USB connections.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GARBAGE ROUTER 1st router wouldn't allow changes after logging in. Would get stuck at "waiting" or "2118" errors. Waiting was indefinite. Top of router smelled burnt. Was hoping it was just a fluke. Amazon RMA was excellent and sent another brand new router. 2nd router also didn't allow changing any of the settings...always getting 2117 or 2118 errors, or simply stuck on "waiting". This means I can't update firmware, can't name the wireless network, can't change the wireless security type or password, and can't even change the log-in password from the default of "admin". Why is it that hard to produce a router that actually works? If you buy, plan to get use to "waiting" "waiting" "waiting" indefinitely. I tried multiple hard 10-second resets, multiple browsers, multiple computers, different operating systems.... and NONE can change routers settings without errors or getting stuck in a "waiting" game forever. This product is LAME! BTW, I also don't care to use Android/Iphone router bloatware apps or PC aps. So, if you can't produce a router that allows changes using 192.168.1.1 with any browser, then its time to buy Netgear or DLink.

Had a few rooms that my old router had slow wireless but after installing the WRT3200ACM AC320 I had good to very good reception. I would recommend this unit if you are looking for a GREAT Router.

The speed is great for any use, even streaming movies and gaming. The range is more than enough to handle an average size home, so no worries on having dead spots. This router was received for free for review. The only way for a company to get better is to have an honest review of their products. I could find no real complaints or faults on this router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work like I was hoping. Although I'm sure this is a wonderful router, I have had much difficulty with getting it set up. When attempting to go to the page (192.168.1.1 or LinksysSmartWifi.com) I would either get sent to my ISP page or get a message that the page was not found. I am a power user, not a novice with these things, so this was very annoying. When I finally managed to get into the setup that part was easy, as usual. Once the router showed up as an available connection I could connect to it but had no wifi. It worked once, then quit. I have not given up on it and hope to add to this review once it's up and running. I could only get a 2.5GZ the one time it did work. I am guessing I need to update my adapter. I really like Linksys products and am disappointed. It should be as easy as the last one was. I will not give up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would not keep a wireless connection I bought this router due to the great specs and many good reviews. After install things changed. I spent two days frustrated on why it would not open certain web pages and would keep dropping the wireless connection about every 15 min and then maybe auto reconnect, sometimes needing a power cycle to restore. LAN was rock solid and always connected. This mystery had me call the tech support, with though was friendly was no help at all. They kept insisting I needed to restore factory defaults and I kept telling them it is brand new and that is not a solution. I tried updating latest firmware and then reverting, no fix. All in all it was a very depressing and time wasting experience and I have returned the router to the place of purchase. I hooked up my old N600 while I wait for a different router to be shipped and my wireless has not skipped a beat! Until they work the bugs out of this model I stay steer clear of it at all costs!

It won't reach that bedroom. and constantly drops the signal everywhere. I've tried adjusting channels, I added a Linksys extender and when it drops the signal, everything drops. I've owned eight routers over the years and this is the worst one. I would not recommend it. The features are worthless, if it can't handle the basics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Network Load... No problem! I have a heavily taxed network with over 100 smart devices. This router held up very well to the heavy load requirements. With all the hubs and smart bulbs, phones, tv, extenders and everything rose this router rarely has gone down. The tri-band frequency really helps out in times of high network traffic and the latency on my devices was minimal. It handles itself better than the Nighthawk R8000. The Linksys software made it easier to setup than most others that I have owned. It is a great router and I would recommend it to others.

The 2.4 and 5.0 networks handle a house full of people on WiFi without any lag or drops. The LAN Gigabit handles all 4 of my streaming smart TV's also. I recommend this router wholeheartedly. It gives great range, no disconnects in a 3400sf single level home, even out on the patio it has plenty of signal strength. I am very pleased with the WRT3200ACM performance. It runs cooler than the WRT1900AC which it replaced and is giving more strength bars and seems to have faster speed. Visually it looks just like the WRT1900AC, which I really like. The looks just give off a feeling of a very powerful piece of equipment. It has been stable from the very beginning, been using it about a week. The set up was very easy, about 10 minutes. I used my previous SSID and password and all my devices have logged on the very first try. Sreaming video is great without the typical buffering problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still needs some improvements to go. I had trouble getting my max. internet speed on my belowed TP-Link C7 1750v1 router. Bought the WRT32000ACM + WRT004ANT. I had some expectations with the antenna upgrade, but the network signal is about the same as the originals and are about equal to the TP-Link on 5Ghz. I have only one floor level in the house. I can though get my max. internet speed stable from the router, and most times it seems superstable. But i had one day issues, with it dropping the internet speed to less than 1Mbit (i've got 75Mbit), and were unable to connect to the router, even though i could see the SSID and signal strength fine. Restarted the router and it worked for a while, but then did the same less than 30 mins after. Turned the rooter off for the night and now it has been stable for 5 days again. Turned the guest network off, don't need it. I would like as TP-Link C7, that you get the option to choose to use 40Mhz only for 2.4Ghz and not just Both or only 20Mhz. <---- Big update needed. I must say i have tried the DD-WRT on it, and it seems slow by some reason compared to the original firmware, even though i got better options to choose channel width + the standard options as wireless channel and protocols to use. DD-WRT i got much better coverage on antennas though as i put the gain on 2.4GHz to 4, and on the 5Ghz to 7. Got a lot of mixed feelings about this router, as the pricetag with the high gain antennas doesn't make me feel the wow factor compared to TP-Link C7. The TP-Link C7 is far more better in their router setup with options, and Linksys seems to aim more for the average i-know-nothing user, which seems perfect for such targets. Waiting for Linksys next move or DD-WRT/Open-WRT for a while. Super cool design though, but it's like a Veyron running only 50%.

As soon as you open the box you know that you have made a good choice, any company that puts as much thought into the packaging of its products can only mean good things for the product itself. The setup doesn't get much easier. Very simple directions to follow for hooking it up and then the easy setup guide on the website makes it a breeze to have it up and running in no time. (pro tip - if you set up your new router with the exact same name and password as your old one, all the devices you have on your network will automatically reconnect to the new router) As I continue to grow my Smart Home devices, having a really good easy router is a must. Having the 2 different channels is great when you have 12 devices on your network like I do. As you can see from the pics the 5 ghz channel is quite a bit faster than the 2.4 ghz. (101 mpbs vs 39 mpbs) The Linksys App also makes managing your network a breeze. See all the devices connected to your network at any time and manage each ones access. I highly recommend this router. Rated 5 out of 5 by from uh hmmm I bought this specifically to re-flash to DD-WRT, just like it said on the box. Most importantly, I needed more NVRAM for filter scripts. After flashing, it had trouble establishing association to the wireless. Most importantly, the throughput was horrible. I eventually had to reflash back to the linksys OS. Other: -The linksys build was otherwise fine. -The WAVE tech who did my install remarked that Linksys is falling behind in the hardware race. -FYI, wireless throughput is really only about %80 of its rated value, due to protocol overhead. And, God only knows why I need 2.6 Gbits of wireless throughput when my subscription speed is only 1 Gbit from WAVE. In my case, I have other systems in the house that can take advantage of the higher wireless bandwidth (NOT speed).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Wonderful Router with Superb Speed and Range The Linksys WRT3200 ACM Gigabit router is very impressive to say the least. It provides exceptional wireless connectivity for all devices in a household thanks to its unique design and wide range. I received a router to test through Linksys's Friends and Family program, and my review of the router is below. Router and Contents The box contains the router along with its four antennas, an ethernet cable, a quick start guide, and a power adapter. The design of the router is very nice, with its blue and black chassis scheme. It has a nice, nostalgic asthetic feel to it that reminds me of older Linksys routers. Setup Setup was straightforward. I plugged in the power adapter, plugged in the ethernet cable, turned it on, and continued with setup through my computer. On the website that I was directed to in the quick-start guide, the remaining process went by quickly and easily, allowing me to finish setting up the router for testing. Testing I tested this by comparing my old router via Ookla Speedtest. At best, I got a download speed of around 42 Mbps and an 8.88 Mbps in the worst case with the old setup. All things considered, that's not bad. With the WRT3200, I got roughly an average of 3.93 Mbps download speed at worst, and at best, it was 44.11 Mbps. These speeds were really impressive. Similarily, the upload speeds were no joke, reaching 19.92 Mbps at best and 1.25 Mbps at worst. The dead spots in my house contributed to the weak performance, but thanks to the range of the WRT3200, I can at least get a signal, albeit a weak one, when compared to my old router. It's been a week and there hasn't been any problems thus far. Usually, things happen around this time that cause issues with the router for me, but I'm glad to say that there aren't any issues thus far. Final Thoughts Overall, the router performs exceptionally well. Its range makes it suitable for a good household size, and its fast speeds allow for a lot of devices to share the Wi-Fi smoothly. With an easy to use setup, anyone can set it up and use it immediately. I highly recommend this router for any household.

The guided setup makes it easy and it also includes a firmware updating process that is also super simple for anyone to follow. I have almost 20 devices in my home and they all connected without issue or lagging. I also bought the more powerful antennas to boost the signal and now I have a stronger signal than ever before in the other end of the house.

It has most current firmware and rebooting does not solve the problems. You will find dozens or hundreds of other users who have had to junk their wrt3200acm and buy other brands. This Linksys AC3200 more than performs and has a wide reaching spectrum. Currently have 8 devices and we have not seen even a peep of slow-down on any of them. I got rid of my range extender when I got the EA7500 and still have no need for it with the AC3200. 3700 sq ft is covered and I can still get signal on the lot by the creek 75 yards from the house. Setup was a breeze; working in less than 15 minutes, but I played with the settings for over an hour since there are so many. I have MU-MIMO on my computers wireless adapter and , as far as I know, have never lost signal. I like the 'old-time' design. First friend that saw it wanted to know how I could be so high-tech and have that dinosaur as my router :). If your looking for one of the best on the market I highly recommend the Linksys AC3200. Money well spent for an easy to use, wide ranging, full of features wireless router. Can I give 6 stars for range?

I have been using the wireless router that comes with my internet access and it was fine until the wireless would randomly start cutting out. I then bought a $15 or so refurbished **koff, koff** Belkin AC Wireless router and it worked kinda...but then I got this baby! Woot! I have a small apartment but my desktop is obstructed by a couple of walls. My connection is fast and my internet connection felt more robust even with my older (the last driver was released in 2012) Linksys AE1000 Wireless-N Adapter. The one knock would be the web interface interface is kinda "networking on training wheels" and I wish there were fewer clicks to get to the nuts and bolts of manual setup but I can't take a star for that. This is really making me rethink how much a "good" should cost.

In the box was the router, antennas, power adapter ,Ethernet cable, quick start guide and a disk with the user manual on it. It cost $249.99. It is advertised as a dual band 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz. http://www.linksys.com/us/p/P-WRT3200ACM/ I removed my old router and installed the new one. After powering back up, I had internet right away. I like this router very much. It is faster than my old Linksys E2000 and Linksys E3000. I would recommend this router. I would suggest that if you are thinking about buying this router to get a 5Ghz band that you call technical support and ask, will this router work with my PC. You need to have a dual band NIC that supports 802.11ac or get a USB adapter for 5Ghz.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fixed issues with WRT1900AC This replaces a WRT1900AC. The 1900AC had severe issues when auto-changing channels, the WAP acting as if it was rebooting. All devices would disconnect and a minute later re-connect. The WRT3200AC took care of that, not an issue with that problem. The MU-MIMO is great, I get full bars whether upstairs, downstairs, or on the front porch or back yard. I live in the city, in a townhome, built with plaster walls. The plaster is spread over a metallic grid, and the house is brick. Always had issues with performance, with previous routers. The AC3200, has resolved all of that. When changing from one location to another, i.e. back yard, my device will initially show, less bars, and a few seconds later it reverts to full bars. I presume that is MU-MIMO kicking in and focusing the beam. I love this device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Innovative, strong & powerful w/ room to improve I received this router about a week ago, I connected this to my modem and started configuring it rather easily. The configuration isn't hard, it's really straight forward, plug into modem, connect to the router using the provided credentials on the bottom of it, login and password printed on the sticker. Now, performance wise, I have to say it was great, it definitely boosted up my signal all over my and the 5Ghz band was great to stream things faster, although, like with many similar routers, the 5ghz band depends on how far away are you, so it will have an effect on the performance based on where you are standing in the house. The first thing I recommend you to do, if you get this router, is to update the firmware right away, this will save you the trouble of having to troubleshoot other issues that might arise due to old firmware. I play a lot of video games, I play wired mostly, since that's the way to go in my case, I have to say, this router did not disappoint, in my experience, it allowed me to play for long hours without having a single drop in connection. I do have to say though, for the current price, and for even more features, you could find other routers similar to this, but if you are like me, you will stick to what works, and Linksys has always done a great job for me. Please note this review is based on my neutral experience, I wasn't paid to write anything, this is my personal experience, and I was not charged for trying out the product, but I can tell you, it was a great experience and I hope this helps you choose a good router. I really liked that I was able to save my configuration from my WRT1900ACS and load it on the WRT3200ACM with no changes needed other than changing the name of the router. It was able to transfer all my DHCP Reservations and Port Forwarding which is a huge time saver for me. I have been using the router just about 2 weeks and it has been solid. I'm very fortunate to live in a place where the 2.4GHz range doesn't have many networks and my network is the only one broadcasting in the 5GHz range. Because of this, I decided to experiment with giving more bandwidth to the 5GHz channel by making it operate in AC mode only. I did notice a slight speed up on my phone (the only AC device I have) when it was configured this way. However, since the speeds are acceptable in mixed mode, I configured it to allow N clients. Disclosure: I received this router to evaluate after having previously receiving the WRT1900ACS router as part of the Linksys Friend and Family program. Before that, I had a Linksys E8350 that I had bought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy! Hardware poorly made. Don't buy this thing. This has the same hardware build as the WRT1900ACS and the ethernet ports on the back will fail! This thing is poorly made. I went to unplugging a cable (yes I know how to push the plastic tab in to unlock it), and the metal surrounding the port pulled out with the cable. See the posted picture. This shouldn't ever happen. Upon calling Linksys' tech support the lady told me I was out of luck as it happened after the 1 yr warranty period. So now I'll be shopping for a new router and Asus will be at the top of my list. I was very disappointment with Linksys and their customer support, and they've lost a customer for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you have many deviced you can not miss this one I have a pretty solid cable connectivity that tops at about 80-100Mbps... I knew people have more, but this is what I realistically can achieve. I also have several people in the house that will use very different devices at the same time. The range is from video streaming in different resolutions and formats and with devices that are either completely new or up to 6 years old, to smart house "internet of things" IP connectivity to the garage door for example. With my old routers it seemed that the slowest device slowed everything else down, but this is not the case with this one any more. I do not feel the "I could do more, but network is lagging" effect anywhere. If I compare it to the previous router I do not feel faster speed for a single device, but I do when I have many devices in use at the same time (which is my main use case). The other thing that positively surprised me is the range. With previous router I had to use two range extenders to achieve coverage through the house (three floors with about 5000sqft total), but I have about one bar more reception available with this router than before. No need to extenders any more. It took me about 30 minutes to adjust antennas in the right way, but works now without problems. Installation was a blast and done quickly (with exception of the antenna direction mentioned about that took about 3 times as long as the setup itself). I can only recommend this product. Btw. I used the original software, not any post market open source. While I rated reliability excellent, this router is in use for a week... long term reliability was not tested.

At present, there is no available wifi driver for the WRT3200ACM on either platform. Linksys should either release their proprietary driver (used in the stock firmware) as open source or remove these claims from the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast Router, Excellent Wi-Fi Coverage! I’ve been using Linksys Routers for years and this one didn’t disappoint. I set this router up in about 10 minutes. The initial setup wizard walks you through everything you need to get started. As for speed this beats my older router by 10 fold. I have 2 boys that are constantly streaming movies and playing video games and not once have I had and speed issues. I like the having the USB ports so that I can attach my external drive and stream my movies and music from the router and not have to have a PC turned on all the time. As for the wireless connections. I have a Cape style home with my router in the basement. I was able to access Wi-Fi from every room in the house without and issues. The ability to have a single SID/Password for wireless is a great feature. Overall I would definitely recommend this router to my friends and family. Another quality product from Linksys.

My son is a "game-a-holic" and even when he is online, there is no lag for the other machines in the house. This router replaced another router AND a bridge (both Linksys). Rated 5 out of 5 by from Specification is great but firmware is not I have had this router for a month and give the amount of money spent on it is a massive disappointment, the firmware is unstable, i have to reboot the device at least once a day to keep wifi stable and performing. There is a lack of response from support to get new firmware out to address the problems. The opensource community is having similar problems with this device.

I also went and Changed out my aging Motorala modem with a Linksys CM3016 16 channel Cable modem at the same time ... All my dropped connections have virtually disappeared . Highly recommend this router to everyone !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast Router with Excellent Coverage This router replaced a n600 router and the improvement in coverage and routing speed is quite noticeable. Setup was easy and quick, and thus far it's been solid with no drops. It's handling 12 devices around the house very nicely, and a 240mb/sec (downstream) cable connection at full speed. Short review: Recommended. The fact that there are alternative firmware loads from Open-WRT and DD-WRT that have Linksys (well, maybe not support, but encouragement) are real bonuses. That having been said, there are a couple of features that are missing that would be really nice to have (hint, hint Linksys:^). 1) It would be nice to see the WAN IP/netmask/gateway etc on one of the tabs of the Network Map or Connectivity pages; you have to go to the Troubleshooting page and fish the information out of the report or logs. 2) It would be nice to have a wifi analyzer in the Troubleshooting section so that you could see the SSID's and frequencies being used by your neighbors. The Official Linksys firmware seems to be a work-in-progress with regular updates, which is a real plus. Linksys seems to be making a commitment to continuing development and security updates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and easy setup but not reliable I agree with all the write-ups that this router is powerful and has an amazingly easy setup but the 2.4Ghz radio it is NOT reliable at all. The 2.4 radio either turns on an off constantly or doesn’t come on at all even though when power cycled it shows it’s testing fine. The APP says the radio is on but it is not. Half my home automation only works on the 2.4Ghz band so half my home is off line most the time. I bought this WI-Fi router to get away from Comcast’s modem but this is seeming to be a huge mistake. I may have a bad one but Linksys won’t help with that, I’m sure it will be my fault somehow and I’ll have to spend weeks trying to figure it out. I’m very loyal to Linksys products but this one is a huge disappointment. Beware, it may need more time on the market to shake out the bugs.

Things ran great but then started to notice some issues with the 2.4 GHz band... Called and upgraded firmware and everything was fine... Then stopped broadcasting after warranty ran out. Was good for 16 months.. was top of the line when I bought it now it's being discounted, wonder why?

Parental Controls and the Wireless Scheduler for instance, lets you control viewing to certain age limits like PG13 or under. The Wireless Schedule times you want your Router to turn itself on or off. A great feature for video gamers who will not go to bed on time. Thanks Linksys for such a Great Router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features but Reduced Coverage I installed WRT3200ACM to see how it compares to my existing VELOP 2 node mesh system. The WRT3200 added features, especially wired connections, that the VELOP lacks; WRT3200 has USB, eSATA, Ethernet Ports and a much more informative display but provides seriously less range coverage (despite Mu-MIMO) than the VELOP 2 node mesh. Our home is just over 3000 sqft which VELOP covers with WiFi signal in all bands greater than -70dBm; the WRT3200ACM signal was more than 20dB below VELOP at the far corners of our home to levels below -70 dBm. WRT3200ACM signal would probably be good if optimally located near the center of home, but that would require new coax cables or power line links. I would love to use the WRT3200 as our primary router with the VELOP mesh wirelessly bridged to it, but VELOP supports wired bridge only. I would recommend WRT3200ACM for homes up to 2000 sqft and only if the router can be centrally located. For larger homes and some outside coverage I would recommend a mesh network.

Right away when I logged in, I was able to check for any updates and apply them. I was able to configure the network and addressing all within about 15-20 minutes. I like playing with my home network, constantly throw a wrench in the works and fix the issues; and with the addition of a new router, it brought everything down - LOL. I immediately connected my modem to the AC3200, powered the modem on and let it sync up, then powered up the router and connected right away. I then took my main router, and made it a wired access point. So, here I am in my office, with the new router and having everything in this room blaze along online, and my family in the other side of the house moving just as fast as me. We were streaming 4k material and listening to music all through the house. I then took my Linksys range extender and configured it to the router and placed the extender on my back patio and BOOM!, streaming my music just fine. Then I brought everything down again, and configured my original network back up, and this time, made the Linksys AC3200 a wired bridge to my office - I had no conflicts or slowed response to my work. I then reconfigured it to be a wireless bridge for my office and put my laptop, workstation, tv, casting device on the wireless network - all working flawlessly. Currently, I have it configured as a wireless repeater. The signal is strong enough that my son (upstairs over my office) and my buddy in the garage, and my wife in the backyard (through our brick wall) are all getting wifi and working fine. I am so impressed with the ease of access and configuration of this item, I may very well replace my main router with this item to run my network; and demote my main router to an access point. Linksys has always provided strong products that it doesn't take a systems analyst to configure. Also, Linksys is always improving on their interface to be more robust but not difficult! I love this product!

I've noticed faster wireless speeds compared to my previous router when multiple devices are accessing it simultaneously (multiple desktops, laptops, tablets, phones, a file server, and a game console.) My network speeds have increased typically by 20% - 30%. In a real-world example, I was able to transfer 14GB of files to my server in about 20 minutes. Keep in mind this was while 2 to 3 other devices were also accessing the network during the same period. If you are familiar with the latest generation of the Linksys Smart Wifi dashboard, you will feel right at home. If you're not familiar with the Linksys dashboard, you won't be disappointed. It is much more user-friendly and seems to be more stable than the previous dashboard.

This was no surprise because Linksys routers install without installation disks, just the Smart Wi-Fi app is used. The first thing I noticed was the incredible speed. My laptop increased by 33 Mbs on the download 3Mbs on the upload. I noticed the speed right away. I was thinking of replacing my Ipad 2 because it's old and slow, but even this ipad picked up some gusto. Adding devices to my network was quick and easy, punch in the password hit enter and bang, you're on the network. Everything is fast fast fast, and you won't be disappointed with the range of this ac router either. Another great thing about this router is it's a go for the future, ac 2 if you will and the 160MHz pipeline to move data. Awesome power and at an affordable price. You won't have to upgrade for a long time with this router on you're network.

I de-installed my old router and installed the High Gain antennas on this router. Started it up and within about 20 minutes my network was back up and fully operational. Applications which access the internet during startup and starting up faster and going thru the internet connection process quicker than before. Using IE or Chrome web browsers open to the home page and load much faster without any delays. Using wireless seems to be faster than before. To date I am very please with this router and would recommend as one to purchase.

The signal is strong, even in congested areas like condominiums, where multiple wireless routers are broadcasting their signals. Setup was very easy, after I worked through an initial issue. I tried the setup in its manual mode, which it didn't like very much. The Internet light was amber instead of white, so I reset the router and followed the Guided Setup. It was very quick and easy, and after I was able to make the customizations I wanted after. Speed is amazing!!!!! With multiple people surfing the web, Instagram, and YouTube, I was still able to get over 300Mbps over wireless with no problem!!! I highly recommend this router, as its another quality device from Linksys.

Great Linksys reliability with set-up being simple for any novice and for the more advanced user they will not be disappointed either. I have had the WRT3200 ACM for over a month and I have not had any issues with it in any way. Plugging it in and not having to worry about touching it, makes it a great product in my eyes.

As I needed a better performing router to connect my nine wireless devices I installed this beast on my network and WOW!!!! Setup was not difficult at all and it took me fifteen minutes to set up and change my password along with logging on my other devises. The Smart Wi-Fi App is a welcome advantage also. No more buffering and my devices stay connected! My Smart TV just loves this new router viewing is a pleasure no buffering or dropping of the connection. As I pull into my driveway my android phone connects to my network from a 125 feet away! Linksys did a nice job on this router I would strongly recommend this router for anyone needing the power to connect and stay connected using numerous devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant and simple to setup with great performance As I have come to expect; the router was well presented in the box: protected well with the fitting foam cushions. The antennas, power supply, instructions, CD-type quick-start folder, CD, and network cable were neatly tucked into cutouts in the lower foam piece or into compartments beneath this formed in the box bottom. Nicely, done especially with the top foam piece being glued to the box top. The foot print is identical to the WRT1900 ACS WiFi router and WRT 8-port Gigabit Switch so swapping out the one router for the other was very simple and straightforward. Other then having to then wait for every thing to come back on line, it is easy as cake. And, truth be told, it did give me the chance to clean the area up some and reboot all the hardware. Setup was very easy, once the hardware firewall device was disconnected. I suspect that I could have completed the setup with it on-line, but is was simply easier this way. The WiFi network was immediately accessible on my phone and connecting was simply. I'm really glad to see that the default password is not quite a simple as they once were. A bit more trouble to type in but much more secure; secure enough that I would not have to change it though I did to a totally unique one of my creation. The LinksysSmartWiFi.com address works, but having a Linksys router already, I just used the stored link to 192.168.1.1. From their it was trivial to change the network name, install passwords for router access and the like and set the dedicate IP addresses for some of the equipment on my network. Restarting the hardware firewall was totally transparent and in a very short amount of time the entire network was up and running the same as before the WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router Gigabit router was swapped in. So far the wireless signal strength seems to be more stable and stronger in the farther reaches of the house: it will take a while before i understand exactly how much stronger but at least getting the Echo to reconnect was trivial and something in the past that could be a bit of a challenge due to signal strength. Signal strength is certainly a bit better outside: but given the aluminized foam-board insulation, it has always been a bit of a challenge. Though, outside use is not exactly a need, so that doesn't even really enter the equation for me. Overall, setup was basically a no brainer and quite easy. Performance is very good to great; but only having it in place for only a week means that a definitive "great" will need to wait for more testing and time. I would certainly recommend the WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router. Nicely designed and very functional.

The default router setup provides both a strong and secure setup for my wireless connections. Besides running laptops and Ipads we have Iphones and Android tablets. All these devices seem to be perform well with this router. The dual core processor and 512MB ram provides very quick response to apply change of settings and to reboot device. This router is customizeable with OpenWRT and DD-WRT to tweak setup for special operation and functionality.

It's much more futuristic than the older Blue models and less fluid than the more recent black routers. It definitely has the aggressive look I have come to see with more modern high-performance routers. FEATURES Stackable One of the best features that was lost on many of the sleek black versions was the stack-ability of the hardware. The WRT3200ACM can stack with other devices from the series and remain quite stable when sitting on a horizontal surface. Mountable Another feature lost on several of the sleek models was the wall mount-ability. The screw slide-points were missing from many models and I myself had to rig-up zip-ties through the tiny breather holes. It was a welcome sight to see actual mount holes on the underside of the legs return since I mount the routers up high outside my office which allows for a clean signal straight down the main hallway. Wired Connectivity One WAN port to connect to the Network Five Gigabyte Ethernet ports for any non-wireless devices. One USB 3.0 port for connecting external HDDs One eSATA port for High Speed external HDDs Wireless Connectivity The router supports 802.11AC, and is backwards compatible with all the 802.11 standards at either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz simultaneously. Most homes now are inundated with wireless devices and having so many can cause "traffic jams" and the like. To mitigate this the router supports “multiple users, multiple inputs, multiple outputs” also known as MU-MIMO. The MU-MIMO keeps all of your devices sorted so they act as if they are communicating independently and don't step on each others signal. The cleaner the signal the better the experience. SETUP Setup can be quite easy and straightforward. In most cases the router can just set itself up and you just need to watch the lights. The setup wizard effectively made the router "plug and play" after a few simple questions about what you want to name it and what you want your password to be. After this initial setup I was able to do a bit more configuring manually through menus organized by category with clickable tabs in each. PERFORMANCE I have walls in my house, and more wireless devices than wired. I have the router mounted outside above my office door. This gives me an open hallway to send/receive down. This router replaced a 1750AC which worked quite well through the walls to every edge of the home, but the new 3200AC router was a noticeable improvement. I immediately saw less disconnect issues caused by various factors due mostly in part to the amount of wireless devices in the home. I had good strong signal with the old router but the new one doesnt even flinch when I go outside and a couple houses down. It's remarkable. I have almost 300mbps into the home and I don't feel any of my devices are starving, even when all are in use. PROS Everything about the device itself has been a pro. This was an upgrade I have no regrets about. Cons The only con I found was in the documentation. The template for the wall mount is too small. It wasn't sized right even at 100% for the printer like it says to do. I just made my own and POOF done.

When used as primary router it offers great range on the 5 GHz band. However, his is not the case for the 2.4 GHz band as it had serious signal degradation at 60 ft. It advertises as fastest 5 GHz available and that proved true compared to the other 3 modems I've tested from Linksys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome router with great speed and coverage! Setting this router up was very easy. Plug everything in, run the software, give the networks names, and that's pretty much it. I was replacing a router so I gave it the same name and password as my old one, so all of my computers and 38 devices connected automatically. I love the network map that comes with the software, It lets you see everything that is connected to the network, along with their MAC addresses. If you know the MAC addresses of your computers and devices then you can edit the names and their images on the network map to easily identify everything. I did set this up to give high priority service to some devices like Ooma (Voip) and that worked well too.

Just plugged it in and using same network name and password as before, all my devices were automatically connected. No issues so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The real deal This is a replacement for a Netgear Nighthawk R7500v2 that kicked the bucket just after 8 months and their costumer service offered help in exchange of $119 for 25 minutes of remote service so I decided to give the Linksys a try and I am very happy I did, from the outside I can tell you this Linksys is much superior and it looks great the antennas are shorter without sacrificing performance the plastic construction is of high grade compared to the Netgear that looks like and feel like a toy, I am not a computer expert just a demanding user, I stream lots of HD movies and have 18 devices connected to it and the Linksys handles everything easily unlike the Netgear supposedly with about the same specs, with the same internet connection I am now able to stream without a glitch the speed and range are constant and very reliable. I like the Netgear Genie application where I can change the security settings and the DNS to OpenDNS but the Linksys app and the internet based wizard or what ever they called are superior in all aspects, more flexibility easy to use powerful interface and it looks great. I don't know how costumer services are but anything can be better than Netgear. I have been a loyal costumer of Netgear but no more, just like the cable guy told me Netgear is expensive and over-rated. I am just a normal user that demands quality and reliability and Lynksys have it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Upgrade from WRT1900AC I was offered the option of receiving a free WRT3200ACM in exchange for a fair and accurate review of the product. I used it to replace my WRT1900AC. The installation was just as easy as my previous router. It works just as well, but also give me more range to reach the far corners of my home and into the back yard. It is another great product from Linksys. The only issue I had initially having random dropped connections. After some trouble shooting, I disconnected all of the cables and reinstalled them recycled the modem and router, and the issue went away. Could have been a poorly seated connection of the Ethernet cable from the modem. All is good!

The display that shows power, internet etc is so dim it's barely visible. It doesn't affect much, yet. I tried tech support today, waste of time. N o point in adding photos, you can't see the problem anyway. This should not happen on a router this expensive.

Support says they can fix the issue, if you conveniently pay because the year of support for both technical and hardware is over. Do NOT PURCHASE THIS

The majority of witch run at the same time and we never have threwput issues. It has beam forming tech to make sure your devises get the best signal available. If you are into open source firmware, you can do that too. Bottom line, if you need to upgrade your router get this one and be set for years to come.

The This review is very hard for me since I have a WRT32x router that I use now. The difference in these two routers are that the wrt32x is built for gamers and the wrt3200acm is for the rest of us. Setup of the WRT3200 was very fast, I installed the router manually the first time and it was extremely quick, all 16 of my devices were found immediately. The speed was a little bit faster then my wrt32x which came as a surprise to me. I have had no disconnects with this router like I had with the wrt32x before Linksys came out with a firmware update. After the update my wrt32x purred like a kitten. The wrt3200acm has been purring along just fine. I am starting to like this router better for my needs, and you can run open source firmware on it. I really have found no reason to upgrade the firmware since Linksys firmware has been getting better year after year. My speeds on my laptops are almost as fast as the server the modem and router are connected to. I do run ac speed only on my laptops and its great. I have had no lag whatsoever on my android boxes or my rokus and it has found everything that I could throw at it. I use a wrt1200ac as an access point at the other end of my house and setup was a breeze with this router. This router has mu-mimo (multi user, multi input, multi output) and tri-stream 160, for the 5 GHz channels. Convert your devices to run on 5 GHz and enjoy fast speeds. I reset the router and decided to use the linksys software to set it up, I wanted to try both ways of setup. If you intend to run an external drive I would differently use the linksys software setup. If you want to bypass the software for your phone ,you can. Everything went great and everything was setup immediately. It changed from my original setup but did exactly what I wanted. For most of the people out there I would use the software provided by Linksys and you should be running in 10 min. So far this is my favorite router to date. If you have a large family and a lot of streaming going on, Buy this router and you will have no regrets. Baxter

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed with the WRT3200ACM and Linksys I received the WRT3200ACM through Linksys for review purposes, and I used it to replace my existing WRT1200AC router that I was already very pleased with. The WRT3200ACM is one heck of a router. It builds on the features and performance of the earlier WRT series routers and offers many improvements. I now have more bandwidth that I can saturate with quite a few streaming devices in use. I had been able to saturate the WRT1200AC on rare occasions, but not so with the WRT3200ACM. I also find that I have greater range on the WiFi when I am outside of my home. I'm the type that loves to try out enhancements that increase performance, and when I received the earlier WRT1200AC my intent was to dump the stock firmware and reload it with DD-WRT. As time went by, I found that I really liked the stock Linksys firmware and have stayed with it. Linksys has recently provided a firmware update for the WPA2 KRACK vulnerability on this 3 year old router, and that impressed me greatly. I have owned routers from other vendors where firmware updates after product release never happened. Linksys deserves credit for supporting their products that are long out of warranty and I hope they continue to do so. I'd definitely recommend the WRT3200ACM based on my experiences with it and Linksys in general because they stand behind their products even after their legal obligation has expired.

My laptop is connecting to the router at 1170Mbps (the best I’ve ever seen). Our various wireless devices are used throughout the house and we haven’t experienced any dead zones. We maintain good connection speeds everywhere. I have Apple TV and a Blu-ray player connected via Ethernet to the router. I have not experienced any lag or buffering, just smooth video. I also have external storage connected to the USB 3.0 port. Gaming is also superb on the router. My ping times are great and I get excellent play. I am very pleased with the performance of this router!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps Dropping Wi-Fi I purchased this about 1 month ago to replace my Linksys WRT1900AC router, hoping for improved reliability and increased performance. Unfortunately, the one major negative with this router is that it keeps dropping the Wi-Fi signal (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz) about every 24 hours, usually during the overnight hours when network wireless activity is nil. This condition can be corrected by rebooting the router, however that's not how it's supposed to work. For the price, I expect 100% reliability out of the box, which is not the case right now. This situation is not unique to me. There are dozens of complaints on the Linksys Community Forum about this issue with the WRT3200ACM (http://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/WRT3200-Connection-issues/m-p/1064542#M329731). Linksys states in the forum they are aware of the issue and working on a fix. Since the most recent firmware is dated Oct 2016, I hope they are close to releasing an update to the firmware which will correct this issue. Otherwise, I'll need to replace this router with another, more reliable brand. C'mon Linksys, you can do better than this!

In the box was the router, antennas, power adapter ,Ethernet cable, quick start guide and a disk with the user manual on it. It cost $249.99. It is advertised as a dual band 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz. http://www.linksys.com/us/p/P-WRT3200ACM/ I removed my old router and installed the new one. After powering back up, I had internet right away. I would suggest that if you are thinking about buying this router to get a 5Ghz band that you call technical support and ask, will this router work with my PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Upgrade for Our Business We purchased this a month ago to replace a router that had been "zapped". Immediately, the difference in speed was palpable. The old one purported to be fast, but was anything but, especially when even a little bit of traffic hit it. We have VERY high-speed internet access at our facility and this router allows us to make use of it - both wired and wireless. We have switches, WAPs, repeaters and more to reach all the areas of our buildings. This holds up to all of it. Set up was shockingly simple - I am just not used to being able to plug in where the old one was, turn it on, go through the logical set up and have it run the way it is supposed to - but this one does. One caveat - you have to make sure all your wire infrastructure is upgraded to at least CAT-5. This router does not work (at all) with old CAT-3 cable.

I am running Win7 and my internal help says it is missing a driver. Makes ya think they would provide a CD to MAKE it work and set up an Acct even if not hooked up to the Internet. Also when I went to site it would keep referring me to my Dads acct for HIS unit, which works correctly, and ask me if I want to use this one....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Im not sure what happened. I got this to replace my Google router, and the first 2 days worked really nicely. 2 days later, I'm not sure what has happened. Wifi keeps going off periodically. Then I tried out dd-wrt on this product. And for another 2 days, it has been really nice. Just now, it died like I have never seen. I cant even connect to the host (192.168.1.1) with wired connection. I was surprised by how bad the product can be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good and nice looking router Linksys AC3200 WRT3200ACM is a nice and good looking LAN/Wireless Router with great potential that you can create your own little network storage. It’s USB3 (highest on the market) and combo of USB2/eSATA. I put a 4t storage (not a SSD drive, regular 4t SATA Seagate Drive) to the eSATA. The network storage transfer via 1Gbps of LAN connection (10ft away from the router), I got 135MBs/170MBs and the Read speed 145MBs/180MBs. Very good average speed on the network storage. Off-course the longer LAN cable you have, the network storage speed will decreased, law of physics. Forget about LAN connection, nowadays we are all into wifi. 1st MU-MIMO means multi-user, multiple-input, multiple-output device, lots of people confused about this by thinking is a technology device. No, it means handling the multi devices are better, same concept of cpu, multiple-cores within one cpu. Thanks to the strong antennas, I have no wifi issue with this router. Unless you are hidden the router into the ground, I placed it on the middle of my home (1000sq ft), great signal strength and performance over my two rooms, bath rooms and living room. All my devices (2 phones, 2 ipads pro, 1 tablet, 1 desktop and 1 laptop) have either full/almost full bars. With easy typical Linksys style software or download the app, you can easily setup a guest network. Honestly, I don’t have any wifi issue due to small home. Also, internet speed is due to your ISP provider. My S8 phone has a speed of download 73.5 MBPs and 5.75 MBPs upload. All over I have a very good wifi speed for me, see image. Pros: Triple band connection with MU-MIMO with great stable single strength to perform all your needs at home. Easy to setup. Cons: Stock firmware is nothing special and could make it better. Feel little over pricey for this router, if it can drop down below $200 will be perfect.

Had good signal strength but what good is that if you cannot get it fully configured? I am returning it tomorrow, after just one day of messing with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No technical support for over 11 days. I purchased router and modem from Linksys site in January 2017. After 10 months, router connectivity is dropping up to 10X per day. I have contacted Linksys help and am still waiting for resolution for over 11 days. In the meantime, my home office productivity is poor, my home security and other home automation items are down. My cell phone charges are building due to no wifi. I have done everything Linksys requests and maintained detailed logs. All help desk personnel and technicians are pleasant and tell me they understand my frustration. However, I still have an expensive router with unreliable service. I expected better from Linksys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY Pleasantly surprised! Have hi-end Asus router, and I really only purchased this to load open source firmware and use OpenVPN. I am nearly in AWE of how good the stock firmware is, and mostly how insanely fast it is compared to my Asus, Netgear, TP-Link and Apple Extreme routers. Looks really nice as well, retro and modern. My throughput speeds are all high, mostly NAS to NAS, or workstation. I have a hi-end Windows 10 worktation with the hi-end Asus PC-88 quad band card, it connects at 1.3 Ghz from 15 feet away. My Hackintosh has the top end Hackintosh Bluetooth/802.11ac card in it, and I get a solid 1.1 Ghz. My Macbkook Pro connects at 1.3. All nearby over 5Ghz band. Everything else in the house, including phones, tablets, PLEX gear is on the 2.4 Ghz band, and it is solid. Going to add the matching 8 port switch (wish they had a $400 8 port 10 GbE!)!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dreadful. WiFi dies forever after a few months. After a few months (4 months), WiFi dies after a few minutes and only reset fixes it. No help or software support. Only the obvious diagnosis which is useless. Even with DD-WRT - it still dies after a few minutes, and only reset fixes it... for another few minutes. No new version. No fix. Useless. Doesn't worth the electricity it consumes. Ah, and also the range... 5GHz is very weak at about 3-5 meters (visual sight, no walls in between).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance and advanced features! The Linksys WRT3200 ACM MU-MIMI GB Wi-Fi Router is a great router for more than a single reason. It has super fast, simultaneous high bandwidth multi user performance. I have over 13 Wi-Fi devices and 20 wired. The WRT3200 is also pretty easy to setup for the connected family home and small office user. This is due because of the Linksys wizard driven setup process. It also has great functionality that at an advanced user would like to see out of the box. Setting up this router probably could not be simpler. I am an IT professional with knowledge and experience in networking, servers, Linux, CLOUD and so on. But I kept mindful about how the setup would par for someone that is not in the IT field. For let us say the average homeowner. For my setup I decided to try two of three options. The first way was to login to the router locally and manually configure the router mimicking the settings from the one I was replacing. The second option of setting up the router was once I logged in and gained internet access I uploaded a saved configuration file from a Linksys WRT1900ACS router. This saved a lot of manual customized setup time for all advanced settings such as VPN, DHCP reservations and port forwarding. Not to mention Wi-Fi network SSID naming and password. The last of which is not really a big deal but it reduces the time spending getting all the Wi-Fi devices connected again. BTW a bit extensive. It is a great time saver for those upgrading from similar devices. I do not know if this is actually supported by Linksys but it worked fine for me. The third setup way that I did not run was via the Smart Wi-Fi cloud based option. My reason for not using this was simple, it is what I see as a compromised network security. The potential issue with using that option is that it opens the routers management access to the internet. Also there is no option to change or otherwise increase security of the default admin user. So all you need is persistent brute force to hack at the password after finding the WWW address of your router. There should be a way to change the admin account username. As well as a simple checkbox option to disable the Smart Wi-Fi cloud based management if you decided later to disable it. For my own non-commercial use I run a test web-server on a port other than 80. For this I like to have a DDNS service to enable my own ease of access. There are other similar uses for DDNS as well. Enabling the DDNS option under Security | Apps and Gaming and setting it to use such a service as DynDNS introduces the same security risk mentioned previously. This option again opens the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi management WAN side logon page to the internet directly. So by simply pointing a browser to your url you have that same entry point open to be exploited by hackers. Unfortunately simply disabling the DDNS option on the router does not disable that interfaces access. What seems to be the only way to reverse this is to reset the router to factory defaults and start all over from scratch and do not Use the either the Smart Wi-Fi cloud setup or enable DDNS services. In summary the setup and advanced options are great. The generation two MU-MIMO performance is fantastic as several of my device - 2 x Apple TVs in HD, 3 x Amazon Echo's streaming music, and YouTube vids on my laptop, can stream all at the same time. The advanced networking features such as port forwarding and OpenVPN are exactly what I need for my environment. These features are very useful for running small a business where there are applications that need or could take advantage of those options. Aside from the Smart Wi-Fi cloud setup and the DDNS security issues this router is a top performer with plenty of bandwidth and advanced features for home and small business users. I’ll give the WRT 3200 ACM MU-MIMO Wi-Fi router 4 stars out of 5 overall because of the potential security loopholes I pointed out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best router I have ever had! This router is an improvement on the best router I ever had - the WRT1900AC. So, this means that this is now the best router I heave ever had. It has more range, better features and a few less "drops" than the WRT1900AC had. I have noticed a Wi-Fi speed increase throughout my home and like the fact that it has more memory (512 MB vs the 256 MB my WRT 1900AC had.) and it also has a faster CPU (the WRT1900AC CPU was1.2 GHz and the WRT3200 ACM has 1.8 GHz CPU.) It also has MU-MIMO, which mu WRT1900AC doesnt have, which is supposed to increase speeds for multiple clients. I haven't yet had a chance to try it, but I am thinking it will increase the adaptability of my router, which will make it even better yet. Overall, this router is the best router Linksys has ever made. If you have high-speed Internet and many users/devices at your home, I highly recommend it.

I had been using a four year old Linksys E4200V2 which worked fine.I didn't expect to see an improvement as all my computers and devices only need wireless N capability,but I was wrong. My home has multiple computers,a Roku3,Amazon firestick and a Verizon Wireless"Network Extender". I had noticed the internet would seem to be erratic and sluggish at times and my cell phone would frequently drop calls. I blamed my connectivity problems on my cable company as I am using a provider which is one of the lower rated companies. The WRT3200ACM completely solved my connectivity problems,the internet is noticeably faster in actual speed and lack of latency,and my cell phone no longer drops calls on my end. Installation of the WRT3200ACM couldn't have been easier. I connected the router to my computer using an Ethernet cable,immediately a configuration screen appeared. I entered the desired settings and passwords and it was ready to use,the setup took less than five minutes. I am located in the mountains in western North Carolina, cell phone service is poor in many places requiring the use of a femtocell. I am suggesting to my friends and neighbors that they upgrade to the WRT3200ACM,the range is fantastic and the speed seems to resolve the problems of connectivity especially if you must use a "Range Extender".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EASY TO SETUP! REALLY FAST 5GHz Linksys WRT3200ACM AC3200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router works as promised . . . It supplies really fast 5GHz connection for your Wi-Fi network. The setup was easy. Just plug the unit in, load the app to your phone and you’re pretty much done. That said, this unit is flexible enough so that you substitute the router's supplied firmware with open-source firmware that allows you to customize settings and provide for advanced monitoring capabilities. Alternatively, you can make it a dumb router by putting it in bridge mode and leaving control of your network elsewhere. This unit works on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. Also, it has tri-stream technology. My only complaint is that the 2.4GHZ throughput seemed average. I would have liked it to scream like the 5.0GHz throughput did. The bottom line: This unit works as advertised and will be ready with tri-stream tech when clients are available to use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Piece of Junk After 3 months of use it's already under RMA. Issues began occurring yesterday in the 5GHz frequency and have now spread into the 2.4 range. Issues include: 1. Clients showing as connected to the wireless network yet cannot reach the Internet 2. Clients connecting to the wireless network then immediately disconnecting 3. Clients unable to connect to the wireless network The support at Linksys is scripted and there is no way to penetrate the bureaucracy to speak to someone who is knowledgeable about the product or networking. Furthermore, the issue that I'm experiencing is WIDELY documented across the Internet and yet...No one at Linksys has ever heard of the issue. How odd. I expected more from a flagship product and the fact is that in the interface itself there is no way to confirm nor configure any of the advanced features that this product claims, such as beam forming. The divestiture of Linksys from Cisco to Belkin has resulted in a poorly engineered product (which I am sorry to be stuck with) and a company that provides a poor customer service experience. Caveat Emptor.

Out of the box is a great experience, but what really makes this router shines is that it is super simple to install the openwrt firmware. This not only improves the speed but has a more "simplified" to power users interface to adjust the settings

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Router!! One word could review this router... Wow! The initial setup was a breeze and I finished it very quickly. This router feels very well built. The four removable antennas are connected to the unit with metal connectors, not cheap plastic ones, making a very solid connection with the base. I had no concerns about breaking these when I tightened them down. The power brick (Wall wart) is huge but designed so it doesn't block the other outlets on a standard power strip. Overall this router is quite a bit larger and heavier than some of the others on the market, which speaks to the build quality. The web-based admin site is very easy and intuitive. It lacks a help menu, but with a few clicks, you will easily find the settings you're looking for. This router also is fully compatible with DD-WRT and OpenWRT for those advanced users who want to control every aspect of their device. This router is also compatible with the Linksys app (available for both Apple and Android). This app gives the user full access to their router from anywhere, providing they activate this feature. The signal strength, both 2G and 5G bands, was far better and stronger than expected. From over a block away I was able to maintain a stable connection to my network, I also noticed that my signal was quite a bit stronger than my neighbors even though I was just outside their house. Overall this is an excellent router for anyone looking to upgrade their home network. Would disconnect and slow down in speed, also notice it does not like Western Digital USB drives, it would not unmount drive, had to power off router to safely remove drive. Support could not fix problem, I gave up on it and use it as a wireless bridge which works fine.

I decided a few years ago that I prefer Linksys for my wifi router, and have upgraded each year since, and am now at this level. I have not been disappointed in the past and am certainly not disappointed now. This is an excellent router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful Router with great range After receiving this router, the initial impression was that it was definitely a Linksys product. It reminded me of the old WRT54G model. It was easy to put the antennas on out of the box, and an envelope size quick instruction guide was included. After reading some of the other reviews on ease of installation, I was encouraged that this would be a quick swap out with my current router system, a Linksys Velop mesh network with 2 nodes. Unfortunately, this is where I ran into some issues. I kept the same SSID name as my old one, as I did not want to update 15 or so connected devices with a new SSID name. After following the provided installation instructions for a local setup, a restarted the router and was waiting for a seamless installation. However, none of my devices were connecting. I tried to reconnect to the 192.168.1.1 address, and it kept redirecting me to a Velop homepage. After about an hour of messing around to get it working, I finally figured out the problem. I have the Linksys app and account on my smartphone that initially setup my Velop network. This apparently takes priority over the local setting setup on the new router. Renaming the SSIDs and then changing them back on the Linksys account finally resolved my issue. Resolving this issue, I was finally able to test the horsepower on the device, and it does not disappoint. I was pulling over 210 down and 10 up on my cable modem. I have had it up for over a week now, and have not had any drops in connection. The range is incredible. I have a 5 bedroom 2 story house, and it covers every corner of it. This is the same, if not slightly better, coverage that I had with 2 nodes on my old mesh network. I have 2 devices that still use the 2.4 range, and they are working like a champ. One of my previous routers autoswitched between frequencies, and I was continually dropping my Ooma wireless phone. I have not had any issues with this router. The administration configuration is OK. If you are looking for a wide array of configuration settings, this is probably not the device for you. But it does have more than some other companies, and actually more than the Velop does. Overall, I would recommend this product, just be aware of possible conflicts if you have a Linksys account that you used to configure a previous router. Pros: Incredible coverage, very reliable, can handle multiple networked devices on different bands with ease. Cons: Minimal instruction set that should mention issues that could occur with their own app/account configuration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a difference in speed! Wow! So far so good. I was having trouble with my wrt1900ac router, so I decided to take a chance and get this. What a great decision by me. I bought this from Amazon. Got it Monday. I tested the wrt3200acm for 7 hours. Setup: It took about 5-10 minutes to setup everything to my liking. I had experience with the wrt1900ac so setup was easy. Nonetheless, instructions is smooth and everything is automated. The device takes you through the steps as soon as it detects your network. First Impressions: My service provider is Verizon Fios 100/100 internet Videos: No buffering on YouTube. Video automatically played at the highest quality Gaming: My PS4 is a lag free experience. PS4 is showing 100 down and 90 up My wrt1900ac was lagging for some strange reason, but the wrt3200acm its been so smooth. Thank you linksys. I'm enjoying it so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY unstable, daily reboot required I've had this router for 3 weeks now. The WiFi intermittently drops, sometimes the 2.4GHz frequency, sometimes the 5GHz frequency, sometimes both. Either rebooting the router or turning off the WiFi frequency and turning it back on are required at least 1-2 times per day. Their technical support was unable to help resolve this. I'm fed up of LinkSys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup; really great app for PC and tablet This unit replaced a Netgear Nighthawk X6 (R8000) that I had for 2 years that completely failed. Had extended warranty and it could not be fixed. That does not bode well for Netgear products. I have had most brands of network equipment but stayed away from Linksys because their setup was ridiculous in the past. So much easier now. I added a RE6500 AC1200 Dual-Band Wireless Range Extender to cover my square footage, and so far I am impressed with coverage. I truly enjoy the app that allows me to tweak as needed.

Something has been modified in the last 6 months The older one s DD-WRT ready (as advertised) DD-WRT can not be installed on the newer one . DD-WRT forum cover the numerous failed attempts to install on the newer production runs and identifies the apparent component change involved A decent router, but (currently) blatant false advertising on the box

I have 16 devices hooked up and all are working flawlessly. My first time using a MIMO router and I already know it's sending signals way faster than my last Linksys router. It's only been a day but I am sure that this router will work great like all the others I have purchased from Linksys. I would definitely suggest this to anyone that wants their home network to be super fast. I received this as a promotion to try out for free with my review from Linksys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Retired the old Linksys upgraded to the latest and greatest Using a wireless connection wife and step daughter are on Facebook constantly sharing new grandson stuff and viewing streamed movies. Also I use a wireless connected laptop to mainly surf the web and research stuff on you tube. We also have an old tower Dell hard wired into the new router. All that said, wife says she sees the improvement in the movies and I notice everyone scrolling away on their phones while I'm surfing, so it must be working. We have the basic setup out of the box. Only complaint is it was confusing. that you dont need the internet to initially set up the router or maybe I'm saying that wrong. Because they want you to make sure you have an internet connection available , but also tell you you won't have internet until setup is complete. Location is a 2 bedroom ranch and signal was strong all through the house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best one yet... super fast wireless speeds My review in nearly after two months of use as I wanted to thoroughly use and test this router before posting my review. First, I have to say this is by far the best router I have owned. Upon opening the box and picking up the router, it is one of the best designs out there. It has a very solid feel to it and weighs more than what you would normally expect from a router… not your typical thin plastic shell. The four antennas are firm, easily adjusted and built as if they were going to be used on the battlefield. I initially setup the router using the wizard and within minutes was up and running. I was up and running in minutes. It even went and checked for updated firmware, which I went ahead and applied. I was able to quickly connect and use the Smart Wi-Fi app to change settings, monitor how much bandwidth each connected device was using and perform speed tests all in the router settings menus. I am using all four LAN ports and typical have about 10-15 wireless devices connected which does not appear to cause any slowdowns whatsoever. I have an extender downstairs that I needed for my old router (BTW, it connected seamlessly to this router) and I still get a better signal from the WRT3200ACM (upstairs) while I am down there. I went ahead and reset the WRT3200ACM so I could set it up manually and had no issues. Although you have the option to use open source firmwares, I have no plans on even using them. BTW, this router includes an OpenVPN Server…the first I have seen on a consumer grade router. The transfer speeds are fast, I am talking fast, even when others are steaming online videos and online gaming (8 people in my household). I have not experienced any lag and typical latency test are <10ms (usually under 5ms). I am using the media server as well which is connected to a 4TB hard drive via the USB 3.0 connector. Streaming videos and music works flawlessly… I ditched my dedicated media server in favor of the router onboard server. I have it mounted on my wall using the mounting holes in the bottom. That helps when you have limited room to place the device. So, after nearly two months of use, I have not experienced a signal disconnect or encountered any streaming video buffering events. The fact that I can connect to it from anywhere via my smartphone and control it helps keep the kiddos inline for mom when I am not home. Using the parental controls, I can set times windows, block specific devices and/or websites. The media prioritization works as expected, finally. If you are looking for a reliable router with blazing fast Wi-Fi speeds, this is your answer. You will not be disappointed, of that I a certain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for multiple users supports multiple devices at one time no problem. It is a little harder to setup than other routers I have used, but it is worth it in the end. We have a lot of devices online at any given time and it handles them all, no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT ROUTER BUT?? I just installed this router and has been running for about a 2 weeks. Working great, with a 128gb usb 3.0 drive as remote storage. Well 2 days ago the drive stopped being detected by the router. So , I took the drive out and put it on my PC. Nothing not detected on PC. Then i bought another 128gb usb 3.0 , put it on my router and nothing the drive activity lights flashing but again not detected by the router. So i put this one on my PC Nothing. Now that is 2 thumb drive's that have been rendered un-recover-able and or smoked. Being a glut in for punishment i try a 500gb usb hdd on my PC first, works great. Plug it into my router, activity lights blink, again not detected ?? Plug it back into my PC, FAT tables destroyed just like the other drive's, the only difference i can see and recover the HDD not the thumb drives. This in noway is a reflection on the performance of this router, this is great. Just it keep eating my drives and if this can be addressed it would be great. Thanks
