Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have been using a LifeProof case for many years. I carry my phone in the pocket of my bathing suit at the beach. It has been a comfort knowing that it is waterproof and virtually damage proof. I would recommend this case to everyone. I rated it a four because 4.5-4.8 are not available. Two minor issues prevent me from giving it a 5. First: I had to replace my first case. This was as esy as advertised. No hassle and friendly service. I had the replacement spot quick. My disappointment came when I read a note provided with the replacement that informed me that I could not replace the second case if it failed the test of time as well. The second case continued to protect my phone until I replaced my phone. This required a new case which I purchased immediatel on line. This brings me to my second minor issue. Second: My new case came in a case that didn't appear new. This isn't an isuue more than a eyebrow raiser. I place my new phone into my case and was again comforted knowing it was protected. I discovered shortly after using the case that the ringer automatically turns off when placing the phone into the case. This was resolved by carefully and precisely lining up the phone and sliding it in from left to right. Not a major issue since I won't be opening the case again. It did take a few days and several attempts to figure this out. A final concern is that the lid that covers the charging portal does not lock as tightly as either of my previous cases. This could be a problem when in the water so I will contact SafeProof today and see what they recommend. Again, this is an exceptional product that provides peace of mind from damage due to water or dropping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd Gen is horrible! I have had this case for over four years now and I loved it, BUT now it is the worst case I have ever had! I used my warranty on my case in august and they sent me the second-gen case and it is horrible. If I receive a phone call people can not hear me I have to physically take the case off every time I get a phone call. I want the first-gen case back! I took my phone into a repair shop and they told me of course people can not hear me there is plastic covering the speakers. The original case had mesh whereas the new case has hard plastic. This is a serious design flaw and I am extremely unhappy with this case. DO NOT BUY!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool case. Had to wait 2 weeks. I purchased the case online when I bought my new iPhone 8. I have had a lifeproof case on every phone I’ve owned since the iPhone 4. Only case I’ve used is lifeproof. Best cases on the market. So I was disappointed when I received my new iPhone 8 case and it was missing pieces and I couldn’t use my lifeproof as it was intended until. It took awhile for my first case to arrive to me which I was surprised. My precious cases were sent to me in days. Then the case was broken so I had to wait another week and a half for replacement case. Just wasn’t happy to receive a broken case from the beginning for how much I paid for the case. Other than that the case is amazing. I love lifeproof and will continue to promote their cases. Also, I wish they had the same colors for the 7 as they do 8. I love the second wind grey color. I settled for drop in color. I don’t like the lime green accent color. There should be a custom options for these cases. Otter box has that option. Just a thought.

When I got my iPhone 8 for Christmas, I immediately ordered a Lifeproof case for it. For anyone who doesn't believe, here's a story that might convince you: Last fall, my husband was at a construction site and had left his phone on the back of his truck. It was only after he was back at his office for several hours that he realized he didn't have his phone. He knew it had probably fallen off his truck when he left the work site, but two searches turned up nothing. Find My iPhone confirmed that the phone was still at the site, but we couldn't find it. More than 24 hours later, he searched again and found his phone in a mud puddle. The site was on top of a hill and temps were probably in the teens or twenties that night. HOWEVER, the Lifeproof case had kept the phone dry and protected. The case itself was easily cleaned. You would never know it had sat in a mud puddle overnight. This is why there was no question that my new case would also be a Lifeproof.

Specially because it has a screen cover included. Only once my phone fell in the snow in my backyard and stayed there for hours until I realized I've lost it. I found it in sound state. I strongly stand by my Fre iPhone, and the other waterproof cases.

This one has similar build quality, and feel great in your hand. It also doesn't add as much bulk to the phone. The charge port door even opens up nice and wide! But the fatal flaw is in the charge port door. It opens much too easily. It opens on accident without me realizing it. This makes me nervous to use it in places or situations my iPhone might get a splash or two. Basically, the reason I got a LifeProof case in the first place.

The official lifeproof waterproof FRE case works GREAT for 3-months, but after that the voice ports get clogged with pocket lint, and the person I call can't hear my voice. Cleaning it helps a little, but not enough to make it worth the price. However, the waterproof seals work for more than a year with proper maintenance, if you just need an adventure case.

So, I just use the button to turn the sound all the way down and that works just fine. I love the LifeLock brand.

(Dumb mistake I know!) there was absolutely NO damage to my phone, or the case really, but it had separated in the flight, and I just wanted that extra peace of mind, incase there was damage to the seal, it connection port area. I have invested, religiously, in Lifeproof cases since they came out, and will never (NEVER) chose any other product. Always Lifeproof!

There was a gap between the screen and the protector, so I had to press the screen really hard each time. And the start button at the bottom was also hard to press. There's no way I would be able to use this case so I returned it. I hear Lifeproof makes good cases but not this one for the 2nd generation iPhone.

I was very happy that I did as I dropped it a few times and submerged it in a river at one point with no damage to phone or case. What I’m really grateful for, though, was when I fell down a steep hill while hiking alone with my dog. I had my phone in a side pocket of my backpack so I could easily access it for photos. Unfortunately, ended up falling down a steep hill, and it fell out of my backpack. I was in a lot of pain from the fall, and I could not put pressure on my left leg. When I was finally able to retrieve the phone using a large stick, I saw some scratches on the face. The phone worked perfectly, however, and I was able to call 911 for help. I intend to be a LifeProof customer for life.

I work outdoors and rely on my phone for GPS navigation so it's essential that it stays in tip-top shape. I've used it for months in Antarctica and months in very wet rainforest. While I have needed to replace the case about one a year because it starts to wear and is no longer waterproof, my phone is still in great condition despite some pretty gnarly drops.

The only thing I had an issue with is the clear plastic over the screen scratches easily. Doesn’t really affect the functionality of the phone though. Not bad enough to deter me, I just bought a new one. Originally wanted an all black case, ended up with the one with the green glow band.. actually worked out better. I can find it in low light or if it’s buried in my tackle bag , etc.

I needed a case to protect the phone from sweaty pockets, pop up rainstorms, and accidental drops on to machinery, rocks, etc. This is my third lifeproof case and I've been happy with the protection it's provided. After about a year the case is scuffed, scratched and beat up but the phone inside looks like new.

We have 12 grandchildren so the cases have been tested in more ways than you can imagine! It’s kept my phone safe when it ended up in the toilet. It protected my phone in my back pocket when I fell & landed on my bottom. It’s impossible to be removed from my phone by the prying fingers of many little ones. Lifeproof is exceptionally easy to have replacements sent when something starts wearing away. Thank you Lifeproof for always being there to keep my phone safe.

I didn't have to worry about water on it at any point during the trip. One small item to note that when you switch to silent mode for it works from a leverage so one needs to press it the opposite way you would without the case. Great case!

I only had it one day and the bottom door on the case where you charge the phone, fell off. Secondly, once I place my phone in the case, it shuts off my ringer. The tab on the left of the case does not work. I wish I still had my old case on my phone. Unfortunately, the new phone is larger that my I-5 so I will need to seek out a new case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fre case for iphone se 2nd generation review I'm ok with the new case except I find that the screen somehow allows dust inside and it also gets scratched up pretty fast - I had an older version of this case with my iPhone 5s years ago that had other issues such as the screen seal breaking -- this one seems to have a better seal but a lesser quality clear screen -- and the little flap where you plug in to recharge feels like it isn't going to last very long - All reasons why i got it have to do with being sort of rough on my phone -- I do a lot of outdoor farm work and I want to protect my phone - the lifeproof is my choice but i'm not thrilled with how it is getting scratched up - I only recommend it because it offers the protection i need - but i'm not happy on how it is taking the wear and tear....in such a short time

My first phone was stolen and thrown from the theif's car onto the road where it was found-totally intact. Since then I have dropped my phones, including into the lake while paddling, while in their FRE cases with NO damage. I wouldn't use any other case. I need the grippy texture as my hands are very dry which makes it hard to hang onto slippery things. The only negative feature is that I have to constantly reload my fingerprint as I assume the membrane over the print window changes the print pattern.

The case seems to big for the for which leads to the need to press down harder or multiple times in the home button in order to operate it normally. It has the same effect when navigating the phone screen where due to the raise off the phones face it requires more redos when attempt to perform a function.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Off the car I left my lifeproof iPhone 7 case on the back of my car after a run. Pulled out onto the road and as I approached 40 miles per hour I heard it hit the pavement. Turned around and got it. Slight scratch on one corner you could barely tell and NO cracks on the screen. This all happened with my first one 3 years ago. It finally began to wear down but I never had a screen crack. On my second one and I love it.

I've worked in the rain and been fishing on a boat at the lake without any worry of my phone getting wet. I have taken my phone ATV riding at off road parks and had it covered with sandy muddy water without a drop of water getting to my phone. These phone cases are amazing! This is my 2nd case from lifeproof, and they do not fail. Other cases are not waterproof and are much thicker than lifeproof. As long as the quality of the case does not change, I will be a lifeproof customer for life.

I feel I should start the review this way because I will be somewhat critical of one aspect of this particular case. The fit and everything about this case is great however one issue I have found has been the “oil slick“ type look from the screen protector. I cannot seem to get that bubbles out from between the screen protector and the iPhone screen. Other than this, I’m thrilled with this case!

Excellent case for sporting activities in all weather conditions. The protective screen cover is very responsive as is the touch id cover. The only small issue is that microphone pick up and sound can be a bit unclear due to the completely enclosed design.

It absolutely lives up to its name. I drop my phone countless times, and my LifeProof has saved my screen from so much as cracking. I used to have to take photos in the pouring rain (before Apple made a water-proof phone) and my LifeProof enabled me to do so without a ton of extra bulk while maintaining ease of use of the phone. I even once dropped my phone into a bucket of (water-based) paint and with a quick rinse, my LifeProof-encased phone was still in perfect working condition! Unfortunately, that rinse off led me to realize that water was able to seep in under the clear plastic square on the back that showcases the Apple logo. I would rather have a wholly waterproof phone than show off a logo. Additionally, the part of the case that protects the side button to turn the screen on and off gets ground off fairly rapidly. I don't know if it is because it is sticking out and made of a different material, but it is quickly worn down. My biggest complaint is that when I try to use my phone to call people, the people on the other end have a very hard time hearing me when my phone is in its LifeProof case. Yes, there are work-arounds, but this seems like a pretty major issue for something that is supposed to be for a phone. The only other (VERY minor) complaint I have is that the speaker covers fall off almost instantly. The customer service is phenomenal. When the gasket for the charge port door fell out of my prior case and I could not find it, the sent me a new one and were straightforward and easy to work with. They responded extremely quickly and made it a pleasure to deal with them. Overall this case absolutely lives up to its name and claims and will protect your phone from the falls and drenches that are part of life, but it could use a few tweaks to be perfect. I will continue to be a LifeProof customer and hope that they make little tweaks to continue to improve their product.

The only shortcoming I have ever found is the adhesive which holds the home button window in place fails. Lifeproof has not addresses this issue. Oh sure the warranty gets you a new case after a person jumps through the hoops to submit a claim, but that is only during the first year then you have to buy another case. I tried others but they don’t compare. They could address the adhesive issue, or offer a replacement window, but they don’t. I know that there is better adhesive because I did reattach the window on my SE case and it held

I had an Otterbox at one point and my phone screen smashed in the case. My phone now in this case has not be scratched now or drapes and the screen is very much in tact even though i’ve Dropped it many times. I can shower with it, swim with it, drop it as many times as I fall in a day and it still works magically! I’ve been using LifeProof for years now, and I’ve noticed two things about my current case that I don’t love. 1. It distorts my sound a bit on the iPhone SE. 2. The bottom flap for charging is very loose, I don’t hear that nice click like I did with my 6s cases (I had a 6s for 4 years. I will still buy this brand because of my past experience and the trust I have in it but I’m just a bit concerned that with the money I spent I may not be getting the best quality. It may just be one dud case though!

I replace mine every year because they go through significant wear and tear- and if my phone stays in like new condition- it’s worth it to me. My phone has traveled with me outside, everywhere, mud, rain, sleet, snow, on tractors, in trucks, dropped on all sorts of surfaces, around pigs, chickens, other livestock. The case holds up great- and has kept my phone in great condition.

Unlike an imitation I had recently (which, by the way, cracked within a few months, so that I had to use an old Lifeproof case until I got my new one), this case allows all the buttons to work properly. I have horses, so I need a case that protects against dust, dirt, and water, as well as hard surfaces. In future, I'll make sure I only buy this brand.

I’ve dropped my phone so many times and always come away with no cracked screen. It has been a lifesaver. The only issue I have is that I always have to put my phone calls on speaker or the person I’m speaking to cannot head me. Once kayaking season is over I switch cases to an Otterbox for that reason.

Therefore, even with my new iPhone SE being water resistant, I still want a waterproof and shock resistant case. The new fre cases were not in stock so I bought three other cases trying to find something that would meet my needs. I used an otterbox until the fre became available. It protected my photos through the drop and I didn’t have any water issues. I still prefer the fre and ordered it as soon as it became available. I love it and will never use anything else. Hopefully they will continue making it. I gave it four stars due to the price even though I am willing to pay it for the quality and to protect the investment of my phone. It is a little overpriced in my opinion.

I have had water splashed on it with no problem. I do try to keep a hold on it so no immersion yet. The touch ID has worked much better than my previous one, which has been a relief. The only issue I have is, that sometimes it is hard to hear. That could just be my age not sure. For peace of mind it is great.

I own a wildlife management company and work all over the country in harsh conditions and do not like technology. I credit lifeproof for not only keeping my phones safe but my sanity in not having to change phones due to breakage or even wear! iPhone 4 -8 years, I phone SE-4 years, new SE- we will see.. the new cases charge door is so loose and flops open when dropped putting my phone in my pocket. I don’t feel this new design is as tough as the old. I had to get a few replacements with my old SE, this case isn’t even a week old and the door was weird since the beginning. It’s definitely concerning as I do want and need total protection from the elements...

Sense then, I’ve never seen a case be able to handle so much work, these cases are the best overall case you can buy especially if you need a a waterproof one that’s not bulky, but as with anything, they eventually wear out too which. The camo case in particular does not have the Apple logo cutout in the back which is another sealed place that can eventually leak after enough use which is how my SE got wet, I was forced to buy a new phone and was excited to order this one since they discontinued most options for older phones. If you want a case that can withstand literal life as long as you pay attention to your seals overtime, you won’t find a better one.

I started buying them a few years ago when I couldn't seem to remember to remove my phone from my pocket - and it ended up in the wash. (The sound of a ker-THUMP in the washer still terrifies me!) After I drowned an unprotected phone, Lifeproof has saved my phones from 2 trips into the washer, a drop into a mud puddle and a fall onto the brick aisle at the stable - without damage. I have replaced the FRE along with each new phone over the years, and most recently again now as I noticed the corners have worn down (from the friction of putting it in my pocket over a few years, I suppose). I also have a Lifeproof case for my iPad Mini, since I read that device in bed and am prone to drop it as I fall asleep. (That is a little heavy and hurts when it falls forward onto my nose, but worth it!)

The first case provided four years of excellent protection for the iPhone. The only flaw in the original case was that it was very difficult to use the case buttons to turn the phone on and off and also to adjust the volume control. The same problem seems to exist in the Second Gen SE, however, Sprint Tech Support instructed me how to perform these tasks inside the phone itself. I've been using this case for a couple weeks and I am continually impressed by how light the case is. I really like how it keeps the phone suspended within the case using a set of cushioned strips, instead of relying on an exterior rubber case to absorb impacts. The screen protector doesn't seem to degrade the sensitivity of the touch screen, and the sound quality isn't significantly reduced. One of my very few problems are the buttons are difficult to press--I usually have to take my gloves off to get them. I am very happy with my purchase. If the lifecycle of the case meets the lifecycle of my phone, LifeProof will be my new case of choice.

I tested the case before going to the pool, I left it submerged in water for longer than the recommended 45 min. I think it was an hour and a half. I opened it up and there was very tiny tiny bits of water that barely got through the cracks. Impressed me! I put a dry paper towel inside the case and when opening it up the paper towel was completely dry. Just the area where the charging port had a very tiny bit of water. If a beetle could cry it would be the size of its tear drop. Anyways highly recommend!

In June, I purchased a new iPhone SE and wanted to purchase a new case. There were only 3 color choices and one design available for the new phone. I had to purchase a case exactly the same as the original one. I really liked the new eco cases for the colors and designs, yet they are not the complete case as is the Fre.

Took work to open the empty case but once open I and several others have tried to close the case with the phone in it and with the case empty and no one has succeeded in closing the case. I had to buy another case in order to protect my phone. The phone is an iphone SE 2020 which should fit this case. Would not recommend to anyone as it certainly not user friendly, especially if someone has hand dexterity issues, though others without dexterity issues were unable to close the case as well. I also believe that the buyer should be made aware of the no refund policy before purchasing the phone.

They were protected through and through. So we knew we wanted to continue that protection after so many years. It was only the charging area that cracked and door would not shut.

Well, that was a mistake! After receiving the "Fre" case and Lightening lanyard, I opened the box and was shocked. Both items were well below my expectations, and appeared to be cheaply manufactured. I have written to Lifeproof ( 11 may 2020) for an authorization return number(?) but have yet to receive that. I feel Lifeproof bombed out on this case and I feel their customer service sucks as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking and rock solid. I had this wrapped around my phone less than 2 minutes after performing a waterproof test. It looks sharp and is certainly rugged. I obviously accept the necessity for opening the charging door and closing it thereafter, but I cannot accept the failure of the volume keys to reach my iPhone 6 and actually control the volume. So, sadly, after using the product for a few days to evaluate everything else (weight, ruggedness, fit in my pockets which was less than ideal), I had the case back off my phone and in my basket of keys. There it shall remain until I determine that an upcoming trip to hostile environs supersedes my need to adjust volume in various settings. For other folk, I would suggest purchasing this case if ever asked, with the caveat that mileage may vary.

It protects my phone really well (I have actually fallen off a horse onto my phone and it survived without a scratch or dent). I have used it in pouring rain with no problems. The swipe, texting everything works as normal (although the top camera buttons are quite stiff). Downsides....I needed a Google video to help me fit it, the instructions seemed inadequate.With Lifeproof case number one the charging port cover stopped closing just outside the warranty (by about a week) which meant it was no longer waterproof and therefore of little use to me...at this price, I feel it should be more reliable...I need to get it in and out of a pocket quite frequently and evidently that is where the closure was catching.

I have had lots of colors of cases in the past, some light colors (I had a light orange years ago) and none showed dirt and grime like this one. I’ve had it a couple of weeks and it looks filthy. Luckily the quality is still great though!!

I water tested the new one and of course it worked like advertised. No leaks. I decided to leak test the old beat up LifeProof case and much to my surprise it is still water proof. I guess I was misled by the appearance of my old LifeProof. I now have a backup because my phone is with me on every run and bike ride.

I like to go on walks in the rain and take photographs, so a fully waterproof case was necessary for me - given how much iPhones cost these days, I didn't want to rely on my phone's own water resistance. I've submerged this case several times without any leakage. It doesn't interfere with the sensitivity of the screen to any noticeable extent. I wish there was a plain black option, but that's alright. My one actual gripe with the case is that the screen protector isn't always evenly in contact with the screen, and this creates some colour distortion where the contact is uneven. I've removed and replaced the phone several times, so it's not that I'm putting it in wrong; it's just the nature of the case. That said, it doesn't really interfere with functionality - it's just vaguely irritating. Overall, a good case for when you need something completely waterproof that also provides a bit of drop protection.

For $100 including shipping, I expected this case to be more or less difficult to break. However when I tried opening the case to do the water resistance test, it was extremely difficult and I ended up chipping/breaking the seal. I'm disappointed in feeling like I wasted my purchase because of silly mistakes, even though I did my best to be careful after reading all of the packaging and pamphlets that came from the box. The flap that covers the charging port also broke off after one time dropping the phone on pavement from maybe 3 ft off the ground as I got out of my car. May I suggest making waterproof cases out of more durable silicone as opposed to brittle hard plastic? Definitely disappointed in the lack of environmental friendliness of the materials as well.

Unfortunately mine never make it more than a year. Every case I’ve purchased has the same problem. The ring/silent switch gets a tear in it. No more water proof when this happens. My last case didn’t even make it a year. This is aggravating. Unfortunately their are no comparable brands to replace it with as of now.

All the other guys (I looked at) silence. The case itself has already proven its worth as my phone has been dropped several times, accidentally submerged, and abused by a cat (with no visible damage). Pros - Touch screen works flawlessly and excellent sound quality on both ends of the conversation. It also stands up quite well to abuse. Cons - The side buttons are a little difficult to work but once you learn the trick it's easier.

The phone didn't overheat and the case kept it safe from all the times I dropped it onto the concrete and into puddles. My only complaint is that it's a little difficult to press the lock button through the case, because the iPhone is designed with a lock button flush with the phone chassis.

It’s really thin when u actually take it out the pack and I wonder how good it will protect if it really falls let’s say on a corner and hit the screen. I think I’ll be going back to a screen saver and a case since the screen saver can’t go under the case with this product.

It’s not a phone. It’s an expensive hand help wireless computer with a phone app. I am willing to spend some coin for the best protection I can. I have been impressed with otter box. This particular case, though, has been a disappointment compared to my last several, which were so solid and easy to use. The unresponsiveness of the screen cover in particular is a major frustration. Some areas of the screen even seem to have "dead zones", where my phone will not respond regardless of how many taps or swipes. I fear I may need to look elsewhere the next time I need a new case.

My new SE has had no issues responding to the touch screen or home button. Seems to be easy to clean the outside as well as take apart. The buttons on the outside do the job but take a bit of effort to engage which could be a pro or a con depending on what environment you find yourself in.

Anything can happen to it and I don’t feel worried anymore knowing it is protected. Great sensitivity through the front screen to the phones screen. Needless to say my phone wasn’t in my hand when I regained myself and my kayak on shore. After about 10 minutes of looking my friend walked up river as I’d about had it to give it one last look. After 15 minutes underwater my buddy pulls the phone wedged between 2 rocks from the water with music still playing and all. Not a drop of water made its way in through the case. You don’t charge enough for these cases. Thanks again, not only are you life proof but life savers!

Once I didn't realize it fell between my car seat and the door. Once I realized I was missing my phone I went to the car and when I shut the door it squished the phone. My heart sank and when I took the cover off that was bent my phone was perfectly fine. Thank you life proof for the best product ever!

It was everything advertised and I was shocked others failed to protect their investment. Well worth the investment when I look at my screen crack free after six years. The case does take abuse so I requested the warranty replacement when it failed. The replacement was not waterproof as the original so when I had a chance to spend the money on the real deal I did. I don’t mind paying to get things I need. If you value a phone. You need a life proof case to protect it.

Their only weak point is that the area surrounding the charging port tends to develop a small vertical crack which prevents the flap closing tightly and thereby compromises its waterproofing so I tend to replace them almost annually but they are well worth the money.

I followed the instructions and made sure it didn't leak before putting the phone into the case. I had a bit of trouble getting the case to seal, but I needed to apply a bit more pressure than I thought. I have had no trouble hearing my phone calls nor has anyone said I sound muffled when I speak to them on the phone.

Had to replace one case as the little knob to silence the phone wore out. Just got a new Iphone SE and a Lifeproof case. I've dropped my phones many times and the case saved me. This new case is difficult to turn off the phone, silence, or change volume. iPhone made the "knobs" smaller and consequently the Lifeproof case is more difficult to use the iPhone functions.

The latch that covers the charging port opens very easily, defeating any kind of waterproofing for the whole case. I’ve found it open on its own just from catching fabric when I put it in my pocket. Hoping this case was an anomaly and the other cases have a more secure closure latch.

I'm involved in Conservation and the Environment as well as salt and fresh water fisherman, upland game and whitetail hunter as well as a hiker and now, a biker. All my buddies have been telling me to get a case for my phone but I was reluctant because the phone without the case, fits easily into a suit or dress pants. I finally pulled the trigger and got a Lifeproof phone case for my iPhone 7. I got the camo version. It was easy to install the phone into and it fits the dash holder (vent type and cell phone holder on my bicycle. I haven't dropped it in the water yet and fished two lakes and a river this past weekend. Neither have I dropped it on the floor or pavement as I also hiked and biked this weekend. Perhaps just having the case will be enough insurance and I won't have to buy anymore phones!

I can hear the people I’m talking to but they have a very difficult time hearing me. I’ve made sure nothing is blocking the microphone and even turned off the noise cancellation settings but people still say that it sounds like I’m talking through a very long tunnel and it’s causing a buzzing sound whenever I do talk. As soon as I remove the case the problem immediately goes away so it has nothing to do with my cell service. I do like the color, that’s really the only positive thing I can say about it right now.

But I'd prefer all black like I had before, not mostly black and fluorescent lime green. Maybe gray instead. The mute button needs to be used with my nails at it's very end bit. I expect this to be the first point of failure as a result (not ok). Sometimes I have to play the switch it for a while before it actually switches to what I want. Other times it works like you'd expect. No rhyme or reason. On the plus side, people can hear me on the phone. Them or iPhone, I don't know what did the trick with that fix.

Her toddler had not destroyed her IPhone due to the LifeProof case she had. I try hard to keep my phone safe but I have been known to drop it on concrete areas whether in my garage or at work. The only problem I have had is my first 5S cases would tend to tear on the corner since I carried them in my back pocket. When it happened the first time I called customer service and they sent me another one (all I paid for was the shipping)! The second 5S case did the same but after YEARS of using it! I had to purchase a new IPhone recently and hurried home to order a new case. The only one I want is a LifeProof!

My job and life are rough on smart phones, in and out of lake, working around dirt and dust, and easy to drop. As long as the case is intact and sealed properly, the phone stays dry and does not get damaged by drops. Not recommended, but it often times resist being run over by equipment. If the case begins to wear out in less than a year, Lifeproof ships another for only the cost of shipping. I do not ever want to be without a Lifeproof water tight case - they work and have saved many devices for me.

The phone spent 9 full days submerged in the water until I finally found it. I took the phone out of the case to my surprise there wasn't any moisture on the phone. Plugged it in and it fired right up like nothing ever happened with ZERO damage! This may be an extreme experience but none the less true! I have already recommended this product to a lot of people and is well worth the price!

The case I bought previous to this larestvone lasted less than 2 years. Purchased in Sept 2018 for an iPhone 8. The inner structure inside the charging port door broke off and I could not close the charging port door Thus I needed to purchase this last case. We will see how long this new lasts I also wish they offered more colors to choose from Just 3 choices on the website.

It seems very well made so should last a long time, if/when it needs to be replaced or I get a different phone I'll definitely be buying another one. I myself had also had a LifeProof case for my iPhone 4s years ago and my phone looked brand new. The downside to my experience was that o paid with Visa debit and had an issue with payment coming out twice. I emailed LifeProof and received prompt attention to the matter but it has lead to numerous debits and credit issues on my account. At last check with my bank I believe everything is straight now.

Also, it’s hard to hear her talking to me when I call since we put the case on. So far the protection is good, but I worry. I did the water seal test but the corner would close right without the phone. How it will protect with the phone with that corner not as tight, I don’t think I trust it.

Lifeproof cases that I got for my old SE did not work at all while trying to utilize that feature. The side button is difficult to operate. That is a bit of a disappointment. My mother has the same phone, the New SE. She has the Pelican Marine case. Waterproof. I need to see if her case allows for easier operation of the side button. Other than the use of the side button issue, my gripe would be the pricing. It is simply too expensive.

I drop my phone so much, it's inevitable and I accept it.. not only drop it but will sometimes randomly fly out of my hands.. onto concrete.. a meter away from me.. and underneath that case, my iPhone still looks brand new. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more gasping when you drop your phone You know what I’m talking about... the moment it slips out of your fingers and you know you can’t recover before it hits the ground... that gasp, slight cringe, maybe close your eyes, hoping the phone makes it out unscathed...you’re on your own little buddy, godspeed, hopefully this isn’t the end!!! Yeh, that is a thing of the past with this case!!! It’s like letting your toddler wander off on an adventure knowing they are fully encased in bubble wrap, have on helmet and knee pads and there is no possible way they can get hurt. Go crazy buddy! I carry my phone in my hand when I run and my running partner hit my elbow one day accidentally and my phone went flying, I didn’t even gasp. She did lol. I said “no worries, it’s in a lifeproof case!” She bent over to pick it up for me and instead kicked it and sent it skidding down the asphalt road! Still no worries from me, not even a tick up in the blood pressure. Sure enough the phone was unscathed. The case took a little road rash but it did its job and protected my phone. All the phones in my household get lifeproofs. The peace of mind not worrying about dirt, water and drops more than outweighs the cost. The only reason this review is 4 stars and not 700, is because the cases (I’ve had probably 6 on my phones, not including my family’s) all have the and failure mode. After 8-10 months, the rubber button cover on the silent/vibrate switch cracks and falls off and then I don’t trust the integrity of the covering anymore to be waterproof or drop proof. We also tend to lose the charge port cover grommet and cover as a second and third failure mode. Customer service is FANTASTIC and replaces the part if it’s the grommet or the entire case if it’s one of the other pieces with no issues. We’ve done that several times. I just wish it didn’t happen. Buy the case. You will not regret it.

The Fre has been fantastic so far as well and I expect it to last the duration of my phone contract again. I’m a water plant technician so the fact that this case provides waterproofing AND shockproofing is a huge deal for me. Any other case brand is a waste of money. Even if you don’t work in water every day, it’s extremely unlikely that you’ll be able to keep your phone getting dripped on or dropped in water. If you’re looking for longevity in your phone, nothing beats lifeproof.

Buttons on screen can be a real pain. Several times throughout the day my fingerprint isn't recognized through the case and I have to manually put in my code which is also very difficult to put in. Due to the case I have to either press very lightly or firmly to get any success with on-screen buttons. So overall, not sure if any waterproof case is totally free of these issues, but just be aware, it is a hassle, if not a phone saver.

Approximately two years later the charging latch failed , l called lifeproof they sent me a new case no questions no charge. Again after about a year an a half later the latch failed Again I called lifeproof they sent me a new case no charge, this case had a new latch design and screen cover. 2020 I upgraded my iPhone and purchased a new SE Lifeproof case 1 week after installing my case latch cover was not working properly did not snap shut and would open when I took it out of my pocket. I contacted Lifeproof Customer support , no questions asked they sent me a replacement (had to pay for shipping not a problem. This case is great !! When I submitted the next screen says, "oops something wen t wrong" and does not direct you to the problem. Also, in the processes for getting warranty they charge approx. $10. In my opinion that is 10 times the cost of the case. Life proof is not worth the money spent !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LifeProof is for Life I originally got a NUDD LifeProof case when my Iphone 7 was new. IT SAVED MY PHONE NUMEROUS TIMES!!! Same with my husband. As his was worse, LifeProof lived up to their product and replaced our originals with the current FRE. So far GREAT........

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed I’ve had lifeproof cases since they came out over 10 years ago. There was a significant decline in quality when they were acquired by otterbox, but but the fre was still the most protective case on the market (in my opinion). These cases are great for the first 3 months, but they only last for about 3 months now before they start deteriorating. The cover over the home button comes unattached, the back bubbles out and causes shadows in pictures, the speaker won’t align properly with the hole so no one can hear you, if you can get the cover over the charging port to last more than 6 months, it’s a miracle. I still have my case from 2012 on my old iPhone that I just use as an iPod now and it’s in better condition than my warranty replacement that I got 4 months ago. The only positive thing is that they haven’t gone up that much in price (if at all). However, I’d much rather pay more for a product that actually works. At this point, I’m not even going to put in another claim because it’s not worth paying for the shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not up to scratch. Bought a case for my iPhone SE 2nd Generation last May. By December the rubber had started to peel away from the sides of the case. I contacted Lifeproof and they replaced the case. 12 months later the new case started to do they same thing. Sent them a pic of the case in January telling them I wasn’t happy with the case and although I loved it, I wouldn’t be recommending it. I received no reply. Not real good service when you pay about $89 AU.

Why the weird angle on the charging port door?!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nobody can ever hear me on the phone I have the iPhone setting turned on that reduces background noise like many suggest, but still nobody can ever hear me on a phone call. Speakerphone is out of the question, and when I have speakerphone off, if I move slightly or don't have the receiver right next to my lips, it just muffles my voice. It's become very frustrating because I need the shock and water protection of LifeProof cases but phone calls have become entirely burdensome and unpleasant. I replaced my last Fre for this reason and the new one I have is no better. I've had this model for a decade and this has always been a slight problem, but it has been bad 100% of the time for the past year.

It worked good for the most part other than the cover basically being attracted to dirt, the rubber wearing really quickly, and the dust filters coming off. But yesterday I was taking the case off to clean it and the plastic snapped in half. Really nice case but disappointed it only lasted a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I work with POO water. When you work for an industrial wastewater treatment facility, there is nothing out there that is better than a LifeProof case for you cell phone. It has fallen from great heights, been submerged in some pretty nasty substances and I have no major issues. Only minor downfall is the screen lock button is rather difficult to use.
