Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid but light After two months it is doing great. Had to get a replacement when the first one had a dim screen, but Lenovo sent the second machine so I could see them side by side. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Laptop Bought this at Costco. Excellent choice for the price. An integrated RJ45 for Ethernet would have helped. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery and portability My first own thinkpad. I just started my own business and needed a reliable laptop that doesn't need to be babied. I walk around alot with the device, travel frequently, and extensive typing is part of my job. I switched around ALOT of pcs this past year as I was still figuring out my needs and the compromises I can make. This X1 Carbon was the first and only device to check all the boxes. It lasts me minimum of 9 hours- often 12. I don't even pack my charger anymore. X1 is so light I don't even think about grabbing a backpack for it either. I grab it like I do a notebook. All I grab is this X1, my phone, and a small batterypack for my phone and I've recently worked from 9am to 10pm at my office. Keyboard and trackpad are exactly how I'd expect from lenovo: solid. The best feature however is the trackpoint for me. I can sit deeply into my couch with the X1 resting on my lap, and having the trackpoint is so much better than a touchpad in this position. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No detail missed The X1 Carbon is really a flawless laptop. We live in a day and age where laptops sacrifice decent keyboards, camera placement, and other very practical features in the interest of saving a little weight, thickness, or bezel space. And that's just the parts we see. Under the cover many modern laptops are anemic in performance because of thermal and price constraints. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon doesn't skimp on practical features that many laptop makers have abandoned to stay small, and still manages to out-do the competition in aesthetics and size. This laptop is light weight, small, sturdy, with a well-placed camera (unlike some of the competition) and with an excellent keyboard. Performance is also fantastic with a 4-core i7 processor that seems to have adequate cooling to maintain its performance level. The screen is good (and there are several options, none of which are bad). The memory is ample, SSD is fast, thunderbolt 3 implementation is solid, pass-through USB charging is great, and so on.I'm a software engineer, and have been handed many laptops over the years to use at work. This is the first time IT has handed me one that I liked so much that I went out and bought one for personal use too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing like a Thinkpad I used Thinkpads for 20 years. Then my company switched to Microsoft Surface Pro laptops. Now with a new employer, I get to choose laptops. I'm back to Lenovo. From the trackpoint to the build quality, just so much better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Laptop I have purchased. I have had several laptops over the years. I travel and have struggled with the right machine to take with me. The ThinkPad X1 has been excellent. It is light weight, has a thin profile, has plenty of storage space and RAM and the battery holds the charge for a long time, allowing me to use the laptop without having to plug in all of the time.. Due to the solid state nature of the hard drive, it is quite fast in booting up and functioning the way I desire. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
