Enhance your purchase

Lenovo ThinkPad USB 3.0 Basic Dock - docking station - DVI is rated4.00 out of5 by8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It helps, but could be better.I didn't read the discription clearly or I would have realized that it does NOT have an HDMI port. Very suprising. There is only a single DVI out. If you are used to running multiple displays you will sitll need to run a separate cable to your labtop, and you will need a $6 DVI to HDMI cord. Otherwise it works as you would expect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, But not as good as it could beThis docking station was everything that I was looking for, but with one BIG exception. It will not charge my laptop! Why make a docking station that doesn't do one of the most important details that most people want in a docking station? Because I knew in advance that it would not charge my laptop, I'm happy with the purchase, but I still wish that the charging solution was available. Rated 5 out of 5 by from USB 3.0 Dock was everything I expected!I bought the ThinkPad Basic USB 3.0 Dock so that I could connect my ancillary devices to my ThinkPad X1 Tablet when working in my home office. The instructions and device itself were clear and intuitive. All my ancillary devices are connected and my productivity is back on par!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not charge laptopBought this dock for use with my X1 Yoga (2nd gen). The dock doesn't charge the laptop! Lenovo needs to be MUCH more forthcoming about that little detail. I read through the description before purchasing, but I guess I missed that point. It didn't even occur to me that someone would make a dock that doesn't charge the laptop. (That's the #1 feature I'd expect from a dock.) Other than that, the dock seems to work fine. But I wouldn't really recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with Windows 10, no so much with Windows 7My Lenovo X1 Carbon (3rd Gen) had Windows 7 when I first got this dock. It loaded the drivers and started working right away when I plugged it in. Configured a new network connection over wired ethernet, and set up my monitor all on its own. Great! Then I connected/disconnected a few times... when that happened my Audio service stopped working. I put in some workarounds, but those interfered with the hotkeys (no idea why)My employer (who manages my laptop) had a Windows 10 upgrade available. Once I updated all the problems went away. I now have a fully seamless experience using the dock. Only gripe is that it's a little too light, so it gets bumped around on my desk a little bit by other cables. That's a super-minor gripe, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not specified docking station does not chargeNew thinkpads are charged through a port that is at least physically the same as an USB C. I was unpleasantly surprised the thinkpad is connected through a USB B. Also, in general one expects that a docking station also charges the notebook. If at least it was clearly stated the docking station does not charge, it would have been better. Indeed the docking station does what it is supposed to do, which is very little.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic DockThe product works well. It was plug and display as advertised and a quick setup. This docking station does not charge your laptop and allows the extension of one monitor. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
