Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buggy and crashes all the timeI would like to write a positive review, but I am sorry I cannot. This is my second Lenovo tablet. The first one was great so I thought this one would be too. But this one is buggy and crashes frequently. I can't depend on it for note taking. I've resorted to pen and paper. The split screen would have been nice because I could have worked with a word processing program and my reference material. The sound quality is another feature that I found deeply disappointing. I am unable to listen to music as I did on my previous tablet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really bad decision to buy thisThe basic expectation fails for this tablet as it is even slow to type the pin at one go. It is very slow even to browse the youtube. The batter drains so fast that it is practically unusable. I have to keep it charging all the time. I would not recommend this tablet to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's time for a Android one tabletthe tablet is looking good with its size. But, specs wise Android tablets are never good enough cause it is always the bad hardware specs! If most Chinese's phone OEM can out a decent phone ( midrange specs) with a budget friendly price (a SD630/SD660 with 4GB /6GB RAM, and it's around $200 and lower), then Android tablets could do the same.OEM needs to understand by now, people don't want too many unwanted app in their tablet or anything add to it, if it wasn't useful. So, stop wasting time on the Android OS, and just give people a clean Android OS ( like Android one and pair with some decent specs) SD400, SD600, as well as high end SD series. That would make people wanted these Android tablets more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice, basic tablet perfect for media use!Great price and quick tablet. This tablet is great for the price. The stripped down OS, Android Go, helps make it run smoothly. It is perfect for the toddler or adult for watching shows or reading books while traveling. The battery life is less than our Tab 4, which is a little disappointing. Again though, for the price, one cannot really complain. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good valueThe tablet, is no doubt, sleek, and easy to fit in your hands. Apps run efficiently, and it can run apps like OneNote, Microsoft Word, and Gmail, impressively. However, it's more of a phablet. It matches the idea of a ginormous phone, which has its pros, and cons. One thing that'd make you regret the idea, is how Google runs on the device. Keep in mind, that the tablet does not respond to any 'Ok Google' commands, even if has options to do so. Also, the Google app, and any type of browsing online is dreadful, on the Lenovo Tab 7 Essential. It also has poor Wi-Fi connectivity, often taking long minutes to finally connect to a wireless network. But, the silver lining, is that this device is perfect for reading, on. Apps like Amazon Kindle, and Google Play Books, give you the best experience, for reading. It would replace any type of Kindle, as the size of it matches a real book. Perfect for photo editing, but both cameras are of poor quality, at 2MP each. Also, most movies, whilst being viewed in SD, are comfortable to watch. So, for leisure app activities, reading, and for apps like Netflix, and HBO, are awesome on this strong device. So, yes, it is excellent for its value. However, if looking for something to browse online on, this would be an awful thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little tablet, great value!I purchased this for my mom but she ended up not needing it. Because we have a baby, my wife would lie in bed in the evenings with the baby watching shows on her tiny iPhone screen while I would read and watch shows on my YogaBook.I suggested she use the unused tablet just sitting there. She installed the kindle app, the HBO app, Amazon Video, Netflix, and Spectrum. Now we can both sit in bed together and watch our shows or read without disturbing the baby. Great screen, great battery life. Does everything it is supposed to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size, but could be better.I purchased one of these Tab 7s (the regular one, not the Essential- Lenovo's naming does make it confusing) and it's okay, but really could be better. The design and screen are perfect for carrying, couch surfing, and media consumption, but unfortunately, the tablet struggles with speed. Opening apps requires patience and sometimes even the keyboard is delayed in opening. I also bought a Lenovo Tab4 8" and it runs much smoother/faster than the 7". I really, really, wanted this Tab 7 to work for me, but it's likely going to be returned. Lenovo needs to take the internals from the Tab4 8 and put it into this 7" format. But for now, this model just isn't going to meet my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PerfectI needed a 7" tablet to replace my basic Nook -- which met an untimely end after it became waterlogged. The Nook, with only 8GB built-in memory was exhausting -- with Google bloatware occupying most of the memory.I had learned to navigate its limitations by disabling most Google apps, and downloading books to an SD card. Finding a 7" tablet was a task in itself. I travel a lot with two laptops and I didn't want to carry a massive tablet to boot. Long story short, the Tab 7 checked all my boxes -- perfect size, 16GB built-in memory, MINIMAL bloatware. Added bonus -- Nougat.I only use the Tab 7 for reading and watching movies in-flight. I have all of my library and e-reader apps loaded, and all of the airline in-flight movie apps, a chess app and journaling app -- with plenty of memory to spare. Another great improvement, no lag in response as with the Nook. For my purposes, I've only had to navigate through two blemishes on the Tab 7's perfection. First wifi doesn't play nicely with Bluetooth. So after listening to audiobooks, I immediately disable Bluetooth. Second was finding a TPU case cover so I could mount it in my Klever Case. I was finally able to locate one on eBay, which shipped fairly quickly via China Post.I like the Tab 7 so much (as well as my Moto G5 Plus) that even though I have not been fond of my work-issued ThinkPad, I plan on getting my husband the 10.1" Lenovo tablet to replace his good-for-nothing Samsung.
