I was originally told that their current production/shipping timeframe was 3 weeks, so it looked like it would work perfectly. However, I was pleasantly surprised when the speakers arrived in just one week! The quality and customization are both awesome and our employees absolutely loved their gifts.

Was very satisfied with the quality of the speaker but the battery life was terrible and then not even 5 days later, the thing wont charge nor will it turn on. Insane.

I bought my JB Flip6 3 weeks ago and had it personalized and I really like it, the only problem is that I have to return it and get a standard black one because as soon as I opened the box I noticed that the pink wrap was coming apart and I can't afford to get it personalized again they said which I don't see why because it was their designers fault and didn't do a good job which I'm upset because I think they should design me a brand new one instead of replacing it with a standard black one. I should have just gotten a Bose like the system in my car. Very upset customer..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Big Sound Quality from a Speaker This Small After going on a holiday "toy delivery" group bicycle ride and hearing a couple other riders playing holiday tunes on this speaker (conveniently placed in their 2nd water bottle cage), I had to get one for myself. The sound is much better than the average Bluetooth speaker. It's the best audio I've heard from a package this small. There was a brief glitch getting the Bluetooth to work, but there's a chance that was the fault of my phone and not the speaker. I've loved every JBL product I've ever bought, and this is no exception.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Connectivity issues I love the custom JBLs. We recently got three for the office. They look great! Colors are more vibrant than expected but something we can live with. They're great for what we were looking for (the ability to adjust the volume in different areas depending on use and personal preference). The one negative is connectivity. It is difficult to pair multiple speakers to the same device (i.e. they do not seamlessly connect. It oftentimes takes several tries to pair the audio together.)

With it being ip67 i can take it on site at work or out and about with mates with no worries. The battery lifes impressive for the size of the speaker easily get 10-12 hours use depending on volume and the sound is amazing especially with the in-app adjustable equaliser you can set it up it for the perfect sound for any genre of music. Couldn’t be happier :)

It was a hit with my friends during our Friendsgiving dinner. I can't wait to take this speaker to the beach, golf course and pool side. Speaker is highly portable, battery power is very impressive and I must say as JBL always does the quality of the make is not compromised. I have been using this speaker on daily basis and experience had been really good. I like listening all sort of music from rock to jazz. This speaker does a justice to all sort of music. Only thing noticed was at higher volumes you might hear bit of cracking sound. Overall I must say its a good upgrade and great value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More Focused Sounds. Solid improvement At first, this model didn't seem too different from its predecessors. Cosmetically, there's a new plastic line to allow for it to be laid horizontally and "facing" the direction you choose. In the past, I wasn't quite sure the best way to face it horizontally to get the most directed sound. It's even more durable and sturdy than the previous versions, as well. It also has the same size dimensions but I would maybe like to see it get lighter as it does feel a little heavy at 1.2 lbs. The sound quality is excellent, of course. I noticed it has a bigger distinction between audio segments (mid range, bass, highs, etc) eliminating overpowering background noise in mid range. The bass is great for the size, but as someone who loves bass I think the factory settings leave a little to be desired. That being said, in the JBL Portable app you can absolutely adjust the equalizer to your preference. I realize now they don't have preset "sound modes" in the app like they used to - but that's okay. Overall just another steady improvement on the classic. I also appreciate their eco-friendly packaging (soy ink, recycled materials). It used to be niche in certain products but now JBL seems to be implementing it across the board :)

Whether paired for stereo music or using just one for podcasts or talk radio, they have a robust, balanced sound. They are also small enough that I plan to bring them along when travelling. I've owned JBL speakers since 1986. The Flip 6 advances the tradition of quality and performance that I've enjoyed all these years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well done JBL After about 90 days of use I am still estatic about this wonderful sounding speaker. Sounds way more natural than those from that brand that rhymes with nose. Pretty decent low end at low volume without sounding muddy or drowning out the mids and highs. It's a mono speaker so don't expect sound stage. Coupled with a second one, using the app can get you stereo, but for background music this one gets the job done very well. Battery holds up well too.

Thus began my search for a new device; I tried the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2, which I found had relatively shallow sound. I also tried the Marshall Emberton, which people had boasted felt like you were at a live concert but testing it with a few bass-filled tracks left me wanting. A friend of mine owns one of the Bose SoundLink Mini, and another owns the SoundLink Revolve. However, having listened to all of those devices, and maybe a few more, I must say, I am SUPER HAPPY with my Flip 6, and I am so glad I decided to go for it. I was initially going to buy the Flip 5, then realised that there were rumours of a new one, so super glad I came here. I love the addition of the backlight to the panel, meaning I can clearly see the battery life and when the system is on. I'm coming from a Flip 4, so a little bit of a jump for me. All in all, I love and recommend it - buy it, you will not be disappointed :

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but Impressive Sound I bought two of these direct from JBL to be able to pair up together. I also have a Boombox 2 to Partyboost all three. These little speakers together in stereo mode may be my preferred indoor listening mode. Great sound. Set up is easy if you do it right. The trick is to pair only one speaker to Bluetooth and press the Partyboost button on the others to get them to join in. Then use the app to get it all going. If I had a wish, I would wish for stereo mode no matter how many speakers are hooked together. Currently you can only do stereo mode with two of the same speakers. They seem to have more depth and range in stereo mode. Partyboost is great for multiple rooms or outdoors but the sound to me is more flat. Still not bad for parties. They crank up without distortion. Very impressive. And they do sound just as good whether placed vertically or horizontally. I’ll definitely be jumping on the Boombox 3 to use with these when it becomes available.

As I walk and folks can hear the music but they can't detect where the sound is coming from because my jacket rests over the speaker and it still sounds great. Thanks JBL..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from … JBL FLIP 6 … Portable Speaker… I got this Speaker ( JBL FLIP 6 ) a few days ago , I have tried it for about four days so far and I really like it .. - Size .. it has the perfect size to take it everywhere if desired .. - New JBL Design.. it looks very good , now the JBL Logo is presented nicely just like the Charge 5 and Xtreme 3 .. The Power button , Bluetooth button and the Battery indicator light are in the back of the speaker. I think it would be nicer if these buttons were on the top part , just like they did with the Charge 5 and Xtreme 3 .. in a more easy friendly user way.. - Also now it is Waterproof and Dustproof.. - Sound .. for being a smaller Speaker it sounds very good it has a good Bass for it’s size. I wasn’t expecting it to sound this good to be honest ( I judged the size ).. i was wrong.. lol - JBL Portable App .. this App is simple , it only has the Equalizer and you can change the name of the Speaker if desired.. Hopefully it will be improved later.. … Overall another very Good Product from JBL .. ( I recommend this Speaker ) …

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small puppy with a big bark! So, I pulled the FLIP6 out of the the box and (while laughing hysterically inside) I examined the size of this so-called ‘speaker’. It was so tiny! I immediately compared this product to my JBL CHARGE3 and thought; “Hmmm….” I fired up my trusty iPad and turned the unit on. Living in the Midwest, we are used to small tremors and the occasional earthquake. That day we had a minor movement of the earth when my jaw hit the ground in surprise… This puppy R.O.C.K.S!!!! Next day it was time to drag out the Christmas yard decorations and I always have Christmas jams going with the trusty garage stereo. This year I took a different route and tried the FLIP6 outside on the porch. Now, I won’t say if the FLIP6 was louder than the CHARGE3 big brother unit (actually I’m not sure Ha!), but I will say that my neighbors really enjoyed the Trans Siberian Orchestra soundtrack. So, I have been a JBL customer for a few decades now (both pro and consumer), and I am constantly surprised by the new innovations the company continuously puts out there on the market. The FLIP6 continues that tradition of a no compromise, sound product. Way to go folks! James B. would be proud of y’all!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crystal clear little speaker! I am NOT a tech/gadget guru. I have tried several small wired and BT speakers, and this is HANDS DOWN the best. I listen to a lot of classical music, and the Flip6 has beautiful tone, balance and clarity at any level. I have about a 2000 sf home and can place this anywhere in the house and it never loses connection, and I can hear it perfectly. It paired easily, and there is no distortion even on the highest volume setting. It IS a little heavier than expected, but I won't be carrying it around, so that's not a deal breaker. High marks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ultimate shower speaker I primarily use this as a shower speaker. The strap is very useful. I have mine hanging from a towel hook. The battery life is pretty good as I have had this for almost a week and have not needed to recharge yet. Amazingly clear sound for such a compact package. Spoken word audio comes through crystal clear and there is minimal bass distortion in hard electronic music.

I just wanted to add more bass through the equalizer. As best I could tell I had to pay $2.99 a month to be able to do that. The equalizer should be built into the flip6.

Recently used this at a childrens birthday party, the sound was crystal clear, even over the noise of screams and squeals of 6year olds. I’ve never owned a JBL flip before so have nothing to compare it to of past products but I am certainly impressed with what I was given.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from might be cutting things off w JBL soon…. this is my 4th JBL flip speaker, my first being a flip 3 (my fav, lasted 4 years hardly any problems), and my last two before my current flip 6 were both pink flip 5s…… I love JBL’s sound quality and design so much….. but these past 3 speakers just do not work. they work when they want to, other than that, my audio is always cutting in and out, sometimes they start emitting super loud scratchy noises. i got the JBL 6 to replace my 2nd JBL 5 and now my 6 that i got 4 months ago is already crapping out. honestly i think my flip 5 is louder than my 6 too lol. i want to keep loving JBL but i don’t think me n my wallet can anymore :(

Makes my music and my podcasts sound more crystal clear than ever before! I highly recommend getting one to enhance your listing experience!! I absolutely love the color of the blue speaker too. I was expecting a dark dull color. Wrong!! It is a darker color. But, not really the blue color I was expecting. It's more of a darker teal color. My favorite color!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flip 6 is even better Recently received this Flip 6 and I can say that it's a fantastic speaker. I also own a Flip 4 and I can say that the sound quality and the overall look/aesthetic of the Flip 6 is improved. Upon unboxing, the charge cycle went pretty quickly to get it to 100%. Pairing was a breeze, just hit the bluetooth button, my device found the speaker VERY quickly and I was up and running. I like the look of the side reflex/bass/whatever ports better than previous speakers, they seem more sealed off and resistant to water intrusion or accidental spills getting in and ruining the unit. Sound is improved over the Flip 4 in that it feels like a "wider" sound and has way more bass response. Bigger, fuller sound whether it's a YouTube video, podcast or music. I like the redesigned logo on the front, the old JBL badge was kinda dated and this redesign looks much better in my opinion. I my unit is the black color, can't speak for the other color variations as I haven't seen them in person. Size is pretty much the same so making this portable but loud is right on the money. I love this thing and it has a permanent place on my counter for use with my phone and my laptop. Great job JBL.

I am sooo disappointed to see the speakerphone feature gone and a degradation in play hours and amp. This used to be a much better quality product. I will be looking at other options.

Love the new logo. Sits vertical or horizontal without vibration. Was dropped in sink and pulled out minutes later still playing, did not miss a beat. And most importantly battery life , went over 12 hours on first charge. Which helps me on long bike ride days.

Great for a bike ride, it fits snugly in a water bottle holder for bikes. The bass and sound projection did not disappoint while on my ride through the beach. It played for roughly eleven hours continuously at sixty percent volume. After a three hour charge time this speaker played for a little over twenty-four hours at ten percent volume, perfect for the office. I can’t wait to take it out on my next ride. I love it.

But otherwise, this has the same JBL quality I'm used to. The product with my image on it turned out great. Sounds great. The sound is directional though. Even though the speaker is round (which means it rolls like crazy) the sound isn't. It must be pointed at you to sound correct. But otherwise, excellent product as usual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 35 Foot Drop To Concrete This is a well built speaker. I bought it because I work in the steel industry and can use it in the Crane when I'm working. I also am a Whitewater guide and wanted something waterproof to bring with me. I was exiting the Crane after a twelve and a half hour night shift so my relief could take over. I grabbed on my gear and thought I had secured the speaker with a carabiner I have attached to it. When climbing up the stairs of the Crane cab the speaker slipped and fell about 35 feet onto the concrete ground and we have stacks of steel everywhere. I thought for sure it was toast. After searching for it, I found where it had bounced to. The case had widened on the seem about 2 mm and there was a little dent in the side of the speaker. I snapped it back together and turned it on. The speaker still works LOL! CRAZY! Im guessing it's not water proof anymore but I am happy. Great product JBL, thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Video syncing not so great with desktops The sound is pretty good (I like that it allows you to adjust on the app) and the battery holds up really well. Videos, however, are a different story. Its works great on my phone but when I tried playing a video clip on my desktop, there's a second or two delay. Customer service kept telling me my computer needed to be updated but it's current with all updates and it's only five years old. It's not terribly noticeable and if I pause the video it syncs up, but then after a few seconds it starts to lag again. I'll still use it for listening though.

I have not gifted this yet to review the quality of the actual speaker itself, but I have had great experiences with JBL speakers in the past.

So easy to pack for weekend trips and he uses it in his older convertible because the sound system in the car isn’t great. It fits perfectly in the cup holder. Also use it on our patio in the evenings. Sound is great. Good base and volume for its size. I love that it’s waterproof will be using it on a boat later this summer. Easy to charge, holds a charge for several hours.

Sturdy, great build and a good weight so it stays on the table. The rubberised feel feels perfect and the way it sits on the desk is perfect. I bought the green one and it's a lovely dark colour. Used this dozens of times and it always works and sounds good I was using it when some friends were around and one of them even commented on how clean it was when it was turned up. Overall really impressed and the battery life is great compared to the old flip 3 I had.

I've have rolled it in a pile of mud and left it in the rain. It still works. I've dropped it on sharp rocks and have blasted hundreds of hours of music through it. It still works. I even tipped over a candle and it got covered in hot wax. IT STILL WORKS. Even if it took a crap on me right now, I'd buy the same one. My lifestyle demands a speaker that can endure abuse, but one that also sounds good. This is it right here.

The Flip 6 does have noticeably more bass, but in loudness the essential i had previously owned for about 3 years were about the same. This is unfortunate because the flip 6 I just bought was more than twice as what I paid for the essential.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost everything I wanted Great little speaker. Very portable and sounds great. And the personalization was awesome. Came out better than I expected. Actually wasn't planning on personalizing at all and just played around with the option before I liked what I saw and decided to go for it. The only downside was that I was looking for a second speaker to pair with my Flip 5 to have stereo sound with a projector for movie nights. You can do the party mode to have sound stream on multiple speakers, but you can't do stereo mode with different generations of the speaker. That was disappointing, and I can't return a personalized speaker. Not that I would want to, cause it's so cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daily use about 10+ hours a day I purchased 2 JBL Flip 6 speakers and glad I did, I repair swimming pools and got tired of lugging around my job site speaker… it is awesome and more powerful but will utilize that in my shed or outdoors at home from now on. It is big and heavy especially for smaller jobs. Music is a huge part of my life and after purchasing the most recent charge for one of my employees I was browsing JBL’s website and found out you can personalize them. Company logo put on and customized to my liking. These speakers are beautiful in stereo mode and create a nice ambiance and have already been complimented half a dozen times on them. The only thing I don’t like about them is I wish the battery lasted longer than they do but I’m sure if they come out with a new gen speaker I will most likely buy it if battery lasts longer than 15* hours. The charge is superior with battery but too bulky for my liking. I also purchased a few flip 5 speakers when they came out and gave them out as gifts. I’m overall happy with my choice and will be using the crap out of them.

Bought two of these a couple weeks ago and they have horrible connection issues, they disconnect and reconnect all the time while music is playing, and the bass is garbage. If you walk too far away and they disconnect you have to go back into the app to reconnect to the speakers and repair them with each other. I contacted customer service about these issues and they did not help me at all with anything.

Even at a distance away high fidelity was still present. Battery life is good even at high volumes. And even has a nightlight to see in the dark as ambient lite.

It seems to me on the boom box 3, that you cannot connect via Bluetooth to other speakers. I think you can on the boom box 2. Having said that, I gave the flip six to my wife and kept the boom box for myself, because the sound quality was so good.,I also wished I could turn it on withi my phone!

I get in the hot tub every morning and when I closed the lid I did not realize that I had not secured the JBL4 and 2 days later I found my Flip4 on the floor of my 105 degree hot tub.... I let it dry next to the fire place and this morning I turned it on ... IT WORKED... .Freaking AMAZING. I told myself that if it worked I would write a review - so here it is. VERY IMPRESSED!!

At first I thought the base very powerful but it seems like a defect as I cannot make out a word of any of the songs I am listening to. Not very happy with my purchase as I’ve been wanting one of these speakers for years and it’s not functioning properly.

Just extremely annoying that you have to find that specific USB-c cable or it won't charge and even if you do have the specific one it came with it still hardly works.

The black is peeling so quick and so bad the words are no longer readable. I use to this speaker in my work truck, so if you plan on moving it around and there's a chance for peeling, don't get a cheap custom job. Just buy the all black or whatever colorway you like. Very disappointed with the quality of paint used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome speaker The first flip 6 I order came defective, it turns off after 3 or 4 minutes., apparently the battery was bad , I call customer service and they really did a good job in helping me … that was one of the reason why I order a replacement, also the speaker sound is awesome I recommend it. The only thing I don't like is that it's made in China and apparently it seems they don't check the product well, that's why the previous one had problems with the battery that didn’t work and is not just me I have seen reviews from other customer with the same complaint. The replacement is working very well and I love the sound from that small speaker, honestly you won’t regret the sound it produces for the price ..Also the shipping was very fast …thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Battery Life I bought the Flip 6 in June. I was very excited as I have preciously owned 2 generations of the Clip which I love. JBL advertises 12 hours of battery life which I haven’t got yet. I average approximately 6 hours. I really love the sound quality and thought of syncing up to multiple Flips. We’re outside all day and the 12 hour battery life was a real selling point for me. If not for that, I would of given 5 stars for sure.

I charge it for the 2.5 hours like it says or I'll leave it on the charger overnight just to make sure it's fully charged. Still only get 4 hours of play time if I'm lucky!

The annoyance I have with the Flip 6 is that it is stated as waterproof but they didn't design anything to cover the ******* port. When a Lil rain falls or splashes next to the speaker I can't charge it because the port has moisture. So I have to be drying and waiting 3/4 days before I can charge to reuse. So frustrating. I love JBL products but this one is frustrating as I work near a pool daily. Waiting 3 days per use is not it.

I actually received a flip 6 very early on to review and let me tell you I was blown away, I’ve always used Bose but not now. The flip 6 is incredible, great bass, mids are clear and well balanced and the treble is a lovely glassy compliment on top.. vocals are pronounced drums and bass are punchy .. just a delight to listen to.. anyway fast forward to July 2022 and curiosity has got the better of me and I’ve bought a second one to use them as a stereo pair.. oh my days mind blown. The separation and imagery is fantastic, something I had forgotten existed having only been listening on one speaker for so long. I feel like I’m rediscovering my music collection again... the app and set up was super easy too.. The IP rating of these is also a fantastic addition having kids that are proud to spilling drinks.. poking about with stuff and dropping things.. we spend a lot of time camping too so these just fit right in with the British weather!!

So I looked to get the latest model in the same line. The bass for such a small speaker took me by surprise. It seems to have greater Bluetooth range and this one no longer rolls away when on its side thanks to a little strip. Which is another thing, the attention to detail shows. Even down to the embossed logo within the speaker face.

In the end, i decided to go with Flip 6 and I am glad to say that I have made the right decision. I am literally blown away with the sound and bass quality. Having an equalizer in the app comes in handy. Turn the bass up a notch and turn treble down a notch and have the time of your life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor quality, worse support. I owned a JBL Flip 4 for years and it was bullet proof in some pretty extreme salt water conditions (think kayaking in rough conditions). Decided to treat myself to an upgrade when the JBL Flip 6 came out and that turned out to be a big mistake. The addition of the USB C port was welcome, however, the decision to not have a rubber cover over the charging port is not. After two weeks of light use (never got it wet), it no longer charges and emits the "Protection Alarm" when plugging it in to charge. Very disappointing. They do not offer a cross ship option so it will take up to 14 business days. Unfortunately, the backpacking trip that I bought it for is next weekend and I will not be able to use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glitches then just quit working While I love the sound of this speaker it started glitching and randomly skipping songs and adjusting my music and the only way to fix it would be to disconnect the Bluetooth and reconnect it (which has been a challenge in itself since day one). Then when I disconnected it this last time it just completely stopped working and won't even turn on. I've only had it 16 months. Either I got a defective one or these are made very poorly. I own 3 JBL speakers and this is the first time I've had this problem and I'm very disappointed that 1 year is the factory warranty window. I would not recommend this speaker. Very disappointed it crapped out so fast and had so many issues in less than 16 months.

Absolutely love that we could customize it to whatever color we chose along with text and pictures for a small fee. Great sound quality, long lasting charge, and waterproof!

Returned to T-Mobile store for exchange. Second one has worked great for a few months, but now has so much static that it is unbearable to listen. Sounds like it's playing an extremely scratched vinyl album!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FLIP-6 from a CLIP-4 Compare and Contrast: My first Bluetooth portable speaker from JBL was the GO2. Then I graduated up to a CLIP-4 and now I'm at the FLIP-6. Each step was a learning experience. Most of my use of all these are "outdoors", specifically bicycle riding. I mean the guy with spandex and expensive helmets and 5,000 bikes. So, price was not a big concern for me. I just wanted to listen to music while riding for way over one hour at a time. And since it's outdoors, I wanted a loudness without distortion. The CLIP-4 was loud but came with distortion on some song selections. Not so with the FLIP-6. The give and take: I had to give up the small size and lightness of the CLIP-4 for a clunkier FLIP-6. My thing is that this 6 was not intended to be attached to the body. Right now I am trying to figure out where to mount this on the bicycle. According to my Pitney Bowes machine it weighs 1 lb. 3.2 ounces. Heavy - considering bike riding standards. Sound quality: this device is not meant for audiophile listening and I know that. It's plenty loud with good enough bass although not a tight bass. When I ride up to a group of road riders, they hear me coming. Would I ever go back to a CLIP-4 for lightness or other? Not if I can help it.

The sound quality is amazing- very clear & very powerful when the volume is turned up whilst still maintaining a crisp sound. Brilliant portable speaker for when your on the go. Love the metallic colour of the blue one I bought. Would highly recommend this product.

I tried to use the EQ in the app, to reduce the treble and gain the bass, but nomatter how I manage to do it, it is still lacking of bass and too much of treble... Different version of sound cost same amount of money, and it's random that what will you get... This makes me feel down because it takes me a lot of effort to save the money to get a JBL speaker, and I want the same quality, not random!! Very admire JBL but this is not a good experience! Why to make different versions? And the most important SOUND QUALITY is different.. It is not fair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cycling solution The Flip 6 fits a standard bike bottle cage perfectly. I do a lot of road cycling. I love music. Always felt self conscious wearing earphones when road cycling- not really that safe as can’t hear the traffic. I now use the Flip 6 for my road cycling, most of which I do in the open countryside (UK). When heading back into town the pedestrians can hear you coming as well, which is a bonus. Plenty loud enough to hear the music travelling at 15-20 mph. Loving it. If you hear 90s house blasting round the Warwickshire country lanes, its probably me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why no charging port cover i bought this to replace my lost flip 5. The speaker works great except the charge port on new model doesn't come with a cover. I through it in my cooler after work and because the flip 6 doesn't have a rubber plug water gets into the charge port. This prevents me from charging when I get home. Sometimes I can not charge over night, so I don't have for work in the morning defeating the purpose of having the speaker. I don't understand why the older version had a rubber cover so water would not get in but, the new version doesn't? Seems like a pretty dumb place to cut cost considering this speaker cost $30 more then old version. If it had a water cover, it would of got 5 stars because the speaker sounds great and has a great battery life.

I have it at work and it's not even 50% turned up. It won't even last my 8 hr shift. I have to have it plugged in all day. I would have never bought it if I knew it only lasted a few hrs. I do not have party mode turned on either. I guess I don't understand having a portable speaker that you have to keep plugged in. Seems like in today's times we would have products that the battery would last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this speaker! It's pure JBL quality! BUT... Love this speaker! The JBL quality continues! I upgraded from my Flip 4 after years of loving it! Giving the 4 to a friend! It does have the awesome clear sound! Can be loud if you want it! I do have it at a lower volume than the Flip 4! Probably due to it's clarity! I even got the gray & not the black as i normally buy! It's is a cool color! I would give this a 5 BUT for a couple things! - No microphone! Which is partialy ok, bcuz i hardly used that feature but for when i needed it! - It doesn't remember devices! With my Flip 4 I could go from my phone to laptop (and vice-versa) without touching anything! With the 6; I have to reconnect each device each time! This IS a M AJOR negative! It is absurd that JBL took that feature away!! I have no idea why they would do that!! It really IS a pain to do it!!! Improve feature & NEVER take away them!!! Overall - it IS an awesome speaker! The sound is crystal clear! and can be loud if you want it! I haven't tested the distance issue as I don't have a need to! The new logo is cool! I really like it! The size is a little larger than the 4 but still on the smaller size, that I like! My advice - if you can live with the differences - don't hesitate & get it! I love JBL!

They replace two Flip 4s that finally started failing - base sound started producing popping and rattling noises. The only issue I have with these speakers, which is basically the same issue I had with the Flip 4s, is the documentation. Setting up a single speaker is described but not two speakers. For anyone reading this with two speakers, the process is: - Pair one speaker to the streaming device but not the second speaker. - With both speakers on, press the Connect/Partyboost button (8) on both speakers (not the Bluetooth button). JBL could do us a lot of good by adding this simple two step process to the Quick Start Guide and save many of us a lot of headache.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JBL Flip enthusiast approved! Ever since the first iteration of the JBL flip, I've always found the each version to be one of the best Bluetooth speakers available. They just keep getting better and better. I was a bit hesitant to purchase the 6, because some reviewers online said there wasn't a big difference between the 5 and the 6. Trying the speakers out on the display at the store, I couldn't really tell. The 'Black Friday' deal enticed me to try out the Flip 6. Boy are the other reviewers wrong, and the in store display/demo's don't do it justice. I'm so glad JBL evolved this into a 2 way speaker. The sound is so much clearer thanks to the addition of the tweeter! This was the only change I had mentioned on my review of the Flip 5, add a tweeter! .... and they did. Now this thing is complete, and with the addition of the EQ feature on the 'JBL Portable' app, I have no idea how they're going to one-up this version. There isn't anything I would change regarding the sound/technology. Only minor complaint is the giant JBL logo on the grill, I miss the discreet orange square. But, I get it branding is key and it's important to distinguish between the models (which have been pretty much visually unchanged since the beginning) If I were to guess as to the changes on the FLIP 7 (not that the 6 needs anything changed); I'd say either more power, or a bigger battery. A change in the quantity or size of drivers would most likely result in a form factor change, which wouldn't fit within the product line. So I really have no idea.

Having been a JBL purist for years, I have always enjoyed the quality of their products, up until this latest purchase I was so impressed with the Flip 5 my partner was gifted last year that I thought I'd treat myself to a Flip 6 to blow away those bathtime blues...and that's where the love ended. First impressions out of the box were very good, subtle but chunky design, felt well screwed together, solid. Setting up was a breeze too with an intuitive app, nice. Ensuring everything was copacetic including a full charge before the maiden voyage, I fired up a few favourites and I can scarcely believe the results... After power cycling, re-syncing, adjusting the 3 band graphic equaliser it sounded shockingly awful, ok top end, bland mid range but, completely intolerable bass distortion....and not even at a loud volume. First product in a fair few years I've had to send back for refund, I say refund because if there is a risk of the replacement sounding this bad, I really do not want it, just have to keep nicking my girlfriend's Flip 5....which doesn't have any of these issues.

Sounded great at first now it sound like garbage. Ive been reading all these things about making sure other devices dont have bluetooth cone ted and all this stuff but inpaid good money for this to work and it is not working. Never will I ever buy Ny JBL device again!

Having enjoyed the sound of the JBL Flip 3 for the past 6 years, I had to replace it as the battery life disappeared. I thought the JBL Flip 6 would have a similar sound signature (but perhaps even better) but in fact the sound is completely different. It is subjective of course but for my ears this was a horrible sound: very bloated boomy bass, painful harsh unnatural/bizarre sounding treble, and many layers of sound completely missed out. I have just returned this and ordered instead the JBL Flip Essential 2 which I hope will have the same excellent natural balanced rich sound of the JBL Flip 3.

My question is, if you were to push on the passive radiators by accident, would it break anything? I had it sitting vertically at my table and my sibling pushed in on the passive radiator a little bit, and now I'm noticing some extremely faint noises if you put it right, RIGHT next to your ear. If it's a couple inches away, you don't notice it though, so it doesn't matter to me. Just a question.

The new speaker setup in the Flip 6 provides crisp and clear audio at any volume that can be fine tuned to your liking in the app. The build quality is very rugged and faced everything I put it through with ease. I have dropped my speakers on concrete, in water and on dirt and they have no visible cosmetic damages and no performance damages. The long battery life, usb c charging port and beautiful colours are also very beneficial to me personally.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JBL Got This One Right This little speaker packs a punch! I've got an older Flip 5 sitting on my desk and the Flip 6 blows it out of the water. The bass is noticeably punchier and it's loud! I've got a pretty large garage and it fills the area up with sound like no other. The party boost feature is great when hosting kickbacks and the battery life is very impressive. I've owned Bose, Harmon Kardon, Marshall, and UE brands and I can confidently say that JBL has the best products for your money. I'm a filthy consumerist who likes the latest toys and believe me, JBL got this one right.

I use this as a speaker for pregame music in a men's beer league locker room so obviously I needed it to be loud and it does not disappoint. The compact design fits comfortably in my bag. 10/10 Would highly recommend.

It neither gets ON nor showing any indicator lights even after connecting to different chargers. When contacted Customer Support they said the product will be repaired but not replaced or refunded. After paying premium price one is getting repaired product, how bad does it feels. Because once opened, product's waterproofing will be gone. Company will claim that everything will be fine but we all know how repair service works. So, company should either replace it or refund the amount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small but Mighty! I have only had this speaker a week and so far, it hasn't failed to impress. The first positive to it is that it's not too big so it's easy to carry along in a bag. However, don't be fooled by it's compact size as the sound quality is absolutely amazing! By far, the best portable speaker I have ever owned! I have used the speaker every day on a moderate volume setting and I've only had to recharge it once in a week. Another great feature is the fact that it's waterproof so we've been using it whilst in our hot tub without fear of any water damage even if it was to fall in to the water. The Bluetooth range is really good and stayed connected even when my phone was left indoors. Overall, a fantastic speaker and well worth the money. Can't wait to have a party and put it to the test.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Speaker; The Best Flip Yet I’ve been a big fan of the Flip series since the first model, which was eventually upgraded to a Flip 4. Now I have the Flip 6 and I’m simply amazed at the performance. The Flip 6 is a tiny bit larger than it’s older brother, and there have been some really nice cosmetic changes. Mine is black, and the JBL logo that’s replaced the smaller badge is the same color as the speaker, with an orange highlight behind. It looks great. The controls are essentially the same, but the 6 is missing the auxiliary in port and charges with USB-C. So the 4 and the 6 may look like family (from what I’ve seen the 6 has more in common with the Flip 5) but that’s where it ends. Bluetooth has been upgraded to version 5.1, increasing range and reception. Every JBL product I own, from headphones to my Flips, connect to my phone automatically, and this one is no exception. JBL added a tweeter under the covers, bringing forth a whole new sound experience. I really enjoyed the sound of my first Flip, liked my Flip 4 even more, but the addition of the tweeter cleans up the mids and brings a tightness to the music that just wasn’t present with the single driver. The dual passive radiators really extend the soundstage, making all kinds of music sound wonderful. JBL also added a three-band EQ that can be accessed via the JBL Portable app. It allows you to tailor your sound a little bit, such as boosting bass at low levels or dropping the highs at louder volume. I found this very useful. Battery life is exceptional, falling just under the specified 12-hours for me. I really like the white LED on the unit to tell what the battery charge status is. There’s also the PartyBoost button that can link the Flip 6 to other compatible PartyBoost speakers so you can set up a stereo pair. I don’t have another so I didn’t get to test this. Water and dust ratings have been upgraded, though I’m not going to dunk mine for a review. The Flip 6 is now rated IPX67, meaning it can resist being underwater for up to 30 minutes. This will definitely be a good beach speaker. Also, for those using it in the woodshop it’s completely dustproof. When it comes to music, I was thrilled. This little speaker packs a big punch. Sound is tight, full, and focused, mainly due to the addition of the tweeter. It’ll play as loud as you need it to, and it’ll play for a long time. I played several of my “speaker test” tracks and was never disappointed. Michael Jackson’s Beat It was incredible, and Dire Straits’ Money for Nothing was super tight with fantastic clarity. The EQ helped, but I would have been happy with the performance “out of the box.” The bottom line for me is simple: I think this is one of the best portable speakers JBL has put out to date. Highly Recommended.

The flip 6 is an amazing speaker that again, punches way above its weight class. The frequencies are clean and straightforward. Little to no distortion, clean low/high ends, and it’s louder than the previous models. The new design of the speaker is solid, I like that it’s the same size as before. Usb-c charging is a nice touch as well. The battery life is superb. I’ve been using the speaker for about a week now and never charged it once. Well done jbl, well done.

For some reason speakers in the room are pretty useless, and when I’m playing a video everyone has to be absolutely silent or they won’t hear it! And then along comes the Flip 6! Oh. My. Days! What a difference - my students can hear everything! The power from this little sound house is in a word - brilliant! Made a HUGE difference to classes, and to my work. Out of work, I’m using my speaker on my mobility scooter when I’m out and about. Loud enough so I can hear it, but not blasting out to annoy others. It means I don’t have to wear headphones as I trundle along! Easy to turn on/off or adjust the volume as needed. Flip is just the right size for me for all my needs! The specs are great on it, and it just looks so smart! If you haven’t given this speaker any consideration, what are you waiting for? You won’t be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crisp sound Just recently ordered the JBL flip6 speaker and I'm definitely not disappointed. Its a small speaker with a load punch! The bass sounds pretty good for its size, the music comes out sounding crisp, its also a cute small speaker, unlike other ones that are bulky. I definitely use this one with all my everyday activities.

Quick turn around…got mine in less the. 2 weeks. Wish they offered a protectiom plan though similar to best buys that would cover any physical damage for a couple years

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good sound but I hate the appearance I bought mine a few weeks ago and did a simple customization: black body, blue casing and initials written in the same shade of blue as the casing. I received my product and I hate the way it looks. The initials are written in a much lighter shade and somehow, the write up is annoying to read (it's like trying to read something after its highlighted with a bright highlighter). The shade of the casing looks a little duller. It's a good speaker but I just hate looking at it. Don't bother customizing if you don't want to get disappointed. You cant return/exchange.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound for the size! And fun to design. This is a nice little speaker that is a great balance of portability and sound. I have and really enjoy the smaller model with the clip. I was wanting a larger one, but still easy to carry. This was a difficult decision, since I already had the clip. Super happy I went with the flip6. The sound is a worthwhile upgrade, and much larger, while sounding better, would probably be chunky and awkward to carry around. The can’t ustom look was fun to make, and shipped super quickly. I think it arrived within a week. It looks just like the picture. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Personalized design came out great! I'm so happy with how the personalized design came out! I picked one of the pre-made patterns and tweaked it to look just right. It really did match the fine tuned alignment and sizing (if you aren't sure that 1% adjustment will be noticeable, it actually is), and the colors look great. Sound quality is great, it's easy to pack around the house, looks cute on my desk, and is easy to operate. Couldn't ask for more, fits everything I wanted in a small, BT speaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could be better Bought the Flip 6 a couple weeks ago to use when vending at cons. This product is falsely advertised for how long the battery lasts. A full charge is quoted to last up to 12 hours on the website but in the 2 times I’ve used it I was lucky to get maybe 4 hours of listening time. Not sure if maybe I got a lemon or if they are just falsely advertising the listening time but it sucks that I spent that kind of money on a speaker that doesn’t do as advertised. Overall sound quality is good but not worth it if the battery doesn’t last

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great clarity I’ve had my flip 6 for about three weeks now, I am impressed with the clarity of the sound, I am also impressed with the perceived bass coming from such a small speaker. If you’re looking to get one make sure it’s genuine, buy direct from JBL or a reputable retailer, there’s lots of fakes out there that sounds awful, ask me how I know. ??????
