IBM Spectrum Control Storage Insights lets organizations improve storage utilization, lower the cost of storage, and increase productivity of the IT team. This is accomplished without a complex, time-consuming deployment of software into an existing environment.
After downloading the collector agent, you will be prompted to add your storage devices into the configuration and you will start seeing your capacity immediately, broken down at different levels, as well as aggregated across your entire storage environment. The dashboard allows you to gain insights into your storage infrastructure hierarchies, and makes capacity reclamation recommendations based on unmapped volumes.
Over time, Spectrum Control Storage Insights will gain intelligence about your storage performance and will allow you to identify hot spots and aid in troubleshooting. Spectrum Control Storage Insights will also monitor capacity trending and show rate of growth to help determine future capacity needs. It will display thin provisioning trending to show savings over traditional thick volumes and identify the optimal placement of data based on performance and capacity trends.
