IBM Security Network Protection for VMware is a virtual appliance solution that provides the same protection against attacks that a physical appliance provides in legacy physical networks. It is the virtual version of the IBM Security Network Protection appliance, which is part of the IBM Security intrusion prevention portfolio. Network Protection for VMware is designed to help protect VMware vSphere hypervisor networks and includes the capability of adding multiple virtual network interface pairs for broad coverage within the hypervisor environment, while supporting up to 1 Gb/s of protection.
