HP Reverb Virtual Reality Headset - Professional Edition is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great resolution but screen issues. These vr headsets have alot of issues. Mine starts to flicker when they get hot. They need to be redesigned with better components.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great but not so great. I’ve had these for a week now and spent some hours in them doing flight simulators. First, the clarity is stunning and far better than the other headsets. I also have the O+ which is ok, this is great. But, as many others I have trouble with faulty wiring to the headphones that gives me intermittent sound. And the headset flickers on one eye now and then, it lasts only a minute or two, but it’s very annoying. Last but not least, the blackouts. After some time the headset turn black, shuts down and I need to do a restart of the pc to get it going again. Some people think it’s the heavy cable and connection to the headset that’s faulty. I believe it’s a software or a USB power issue. SteamVR shuts down when this happen, not WMR. Overall the best VR experience I’ve had, just hope they can fix the issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great overall, but With One Fatal Flaw 2160p non-Pentile VR is impressive in its clarity. But using LCD instead of OLED was absolutely the wrong choice for VR immersion. Black looks grey. Dim environments look gray. Environments intended to be bright and vivid look dull and muted. Contrast is horrible. These limitations of LCD often make it feel more like you're looking at a cheap LCD desktop monitor than like you're present in an environment. I had a Vive Pro before and it was a night-and-day difference. After trying out the Reverb, I returned it and got an Odyssey+ - even BETTER visuals than the Vive Pro - and in another UNIVERSE from the Reverb - only drawback of the Odyssey+ is it's a bit less sharp - but actually LESS screen-door-effect/mura than the Reverb, even with its lower resolution (due to the blur filter). If you don't care about contrast and black levels, go ahead and get this. Maybe you're an industrial designer or something and don't care about presence / immersion / enjoyability. In that case, it's a great product. Otherwise, go with the Odyssey+ or Vive Pro.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Major hardware issues that made the Reveb Broken o 10 seconds after putting on the HMD I got every issue ever known brought up online. Loss of signal, loss of brightness, lines down the screen, screen sparkles for a minute or two... etc. I know the cause of most of the issues, it's the dang cable from the HMD itself. The round cable about an inch from the little box connector is bad. I can wiggle the cable in that area and HMD will lose power and screens shut down or the screens will get snow with lines down the sides unless the cable is completely straight with zero bend anywhere near that connector area. To prevent this I had to wire tie the darn cable to the strap to keep the cable from moving or bending. What a hassle and it's not like I can just disconnect the cable at the HMD to replace it, the cable that's bad is the one attached to the HMD permanently. HP should have made the cable completely replaceable. Also one of the headphones was broken when I received it, now I have to remove the headphone and use my own over the ear headphones. Also about 10 minutes of use, the brightness drops in the screens making everything darker. Even though all of these issues, the screen are a dream as long as they stay powered up. Best resolution I ever seen and seriously I don't see any SDE. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Confortable and good resolution Great for flight sims. Good visual clarity and sound. Okay FOV. Don't like the controllers They are clunky and the battery warning comes on way too early which is bad because then it shuts off the controller vibrations. This is a problem with all WMR controllers. Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW I have used several different Windows Mixed Reality headsets and the HP Reverb is definitely the best. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Resolution and Clarity, but flawed The resolution and clarity is amazing, easily the best HMD currently on the (mainstream) market. Comfort overall is good, though the cord detracts from that somewhat. The cord is so heavy and stiff that it is a constant distraction. The side-by-side construction of the cord makes it function like an I-beam so that it only wants to bend in two directions instead of freely in any direction; coupled with the stiffness of the plastic this makes it very stiff and inflexible, which causes constant pulling and torquing on the HMD/your head. Also the headphones sound nice IF you can get them next to your ears. For some reason it's almost impossible to get them to lay flat on your ears due to the design of the things. I've had to buy earbuds to get quality sound.Do I really need to discuss the downgrade in controllers, tracking, and the WMR environment compared to competitors? Probably not.All of that said - overall this is a significant upgrade from my CV1 for my use case (seated flight sim/ racing games and some virtual desktop). I realize this HMD wasn't really designed with gamers in mind, which explains a lot of the negatives listed. The resolution upgrade alone was worth it for me, but will probably be switching back to my CV1 if I ever get the desire to play room-scale games. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Clarity With Some Issues I ordered this on 6/1 and received it on 6/10. I have about 20 hours using it all with DCS World flight simulator. Compared to my previous headset (a Lenovo Explorer 1440 x 1440) the Reverb is stunning. I can read the fine print and see all of the gauges. In addition, I can see planes much farther away and the carrier lights at night very clearly. It is a huge improvement. Performance is very good despite the higher resolution because the super-sampling is set to the native 2160 x 2160 resolution of the headset. Colors are fine, and blacks and grays are good for an LCD panel. On the negative the cable and connector need some redesign IMO. The cable is long enough but very stiff and heavy. The connector is flimsy and many of my fellow game players are having flickers or black screen issues with theirs at least occasionally. So far mine is good but I have isolated the cable and connector to the headset strap with zip ties. I downgraded it one star for the cable/connector. Other than that the headset is very comfortable and I can wear it for hours. The clarity and lack of any screen door effect means I can use it for hours without fatigue. It is definitely a Gen 2 VR headset. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
