Rated 5 out of 5 by from why do we need this Major issue with the installation............Printer unable to communicate with the computer. Described my issue to the help desk and it was suggested there might be issues with my firewall. Finally after I spent 4 hours I took it to a computer repair facility. The issue was the USB CABLE was defected. Five hours, A $ 35.00 service charge, and $10.00 for a new cable the printer was operational. So much for HP's quality control.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does save space I think the part where numbers can be dial directly on the machine is flimsy. I wanted to have an all-in-one instead of three different machines. I found the quality better with three machines but it took more space. I can't figure out if there is a redial option. The copies do come out clear. It is economical. The toner is less money then my LaserJet 1200 which I just replaced. Hopefully this machine will last as long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another HP product The printer seems to be decent for the discounted price that we got it for, I don't know that I would be thrilled if I paid full price. The printer makes a lot of noise when running, nothing like my old HP laser printer 4700N. For a price of 150 to 200 I would suggest it for home use. Much more than that and I would look at some different models.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not so hot Will not print straight unless you hold the sheets in AND on the side with your fingers. Will not print clean on two pages unless you cook the odd pages in the microwave for twenty seconds before printing the even pages — or wait for six hours. Wireless connection stopped working after a few months. Still works with LAN cable. I long for my ancient HP laser printer that worked perfectly for fifteen years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything good for the $$$ but... Just what I was looking for. Easy setup, price, quiet... BUT scan to computer (from the printer) starts window default scan app! Can't find a way to change it to the HP app installed, which basically allows you to print only from the flat bad(not ADF). Also two sided printing is actually manual!?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. You get what you pay for...don't expect too much. This isa basic laser printer. The only benefit I see is that you don't have to spend lots of $$ on ink/toner. Very, very basic. If you want the bells and whistles, I wouldn't recommend. Setup was a nightmare!!! Took over 5 hrs with the helpdesk....although the Help Desk was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for Saving Money I always buy cheap printer and it always cost a lot of money buying colored ink that I never use cause I always printed black and white even though I set it up to grayscale still using colored ink. So me and my husband decided to buy a Laser Printer its very affordable it works and the customer service is awesome I love the live chat feature and they are always very helpful. I also purchased 3 years warranty.. It came with 400 pages tones :) ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lack of user documentation/manuals The product quality is consistent with the price: good. The user documentation on the install disk or downloadable is inadequate and poor. I need a user manual so I can understand especially the control panel and how to set it up. The operation of the control panel is otherwise confusing, not quite as intuitive as you might have hoped. This is my second HP printer purchase with the same complaint. In the future I will avoid purchasing HP products that seem to lack sufficient user documentation. You can do better. Help me out here ... I've been a customer for more than 20 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Printer I have owned mine now for over 9 months with absolutely no problems. I do ot find it loud and do find it's speed excellent for a home office. I print over 500 pages a week with no problems and te toner lasts me far more then is advertised. It is simple to work and was a breeze to setup. I would recommend this to anyone and FYI the drum lasted me 9 months until I needed to replace it. Wieless setup was not a problem either nor networking. Read the istructions or use your head and you will be fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The pictures doesn't tell the truth The truth is that this printer has a very ugly tray for the paper. It is not pictured on the product page, so you will get the impression before purchase that the printer has a better look than it would in practice. How could they even print an A4 as pictured? In reality it is quite ugly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer for the price Prints great - letter or legal size. Copies are great too - letter or legal. Touch screen is small but it does tilt out which helps with viewing and I found that a light touch vs pressing hard works like a charm. I agree with previous reviewers that the paper tray is not the most visually appealing but changing out paper is fairly easy. I print letter and legal size docs throughout the day and changing paper is not a problem. I work in a small oilfield office that is part of a large corporation. We don't have wifi available so setting up printer was a breeze. I use the print, copy, and fax features and they all work very well. I print anywhere from 20 to 50 pages a day and this printer works great for this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Set up I just bought the printer then read the reviews. I felt I am very new at setting up anything. I had no issues. The wifi Is as only as good as your wifi is so I hard wired my printer. It does state it only prints black and white. I need to use it for a while to judge the other things but as far as set up was not hard and Wifi is never accurate. With that I would recommend this printer for the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Connection Problems I agree with all these reviews and I wish I had read them before I purchased this. I really like this printer EXCEPT for the wifi connection ... which is absolutely terrible. I have talked to the tech-team on-line three times. They were polite but couldn't fix the problem. I am about ready to return the printer to Staples and get another printer. Will it be HP? I've had a number of very good HP but this one is undermining my faith.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Junk Unit will only work via wireless connection. Wired connection will not work and there is nothing in the options menu or online to help troubleshoot a wired issue. Old printer works just fine wired with the same patch cable and jack being used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good printer for the price Setup was fairly straight forward. Mac driver install was easy. To setup scan to email had to be done via the IP method (Mac user) but eventually got it working after working through the process on the control panel & printer webpage. Fairly small footprint to deal with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plastic box that does nothing This printer is constantly causing my biz problems....It only prints black and white which it does not state clearly on the box or in the description. I also cannot print on any material that is even slightly rigid, firm or has some weight to it. If your looking for a printer to print a 2 page essay on regular white paper twice a month this is perfect...If you have a small biz and need a working printer look elsewhere. Cannons are also awful...whats next?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 50/50 Odds I bought 2 of these printers. I like the features listed. Set up...is a bit much. Lots of hoops to jump through to get the install just right. One Printer works great, the other, has been a huge head ache. Print quality is the pits. Dots down one side started with the 3rd copy and has been on every page since. The AUTOMATED assistant to help you fix it... is a bigger pain! Support was down for 3 days while trying to make it work right, and honestly... I just gave up. I use it as a cr*p printer... when no one else will see the copy but me. Plan to return it to HP.com.... but that takes time to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product and support issues I had an HP3015 printer and was very happy with it, but it was about 7 years old and I wanted to upgrade to wireless printing among other things. The MP130fw is compact and has a flat top for scanning documents, which I liked. Costco had a great price for this item; however, the ink lasted me only 4 months with less than average printing volume, about 1/10 of what my previous laser cartridge would normally last. I am also having issues with resetting the password and the product support after warranty is very frustrating. They send you searching in the forums and when you find a potential solution, you have to wait for a private message that may or may not be from a verified HP employee. Phone support is only available under warranty and mine should be still valid but HP's virtual assistant tells me it was over a month ago. Difficult to settle with a machine that keeps asking me to rephrase the question if I feel I have not been given a solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paper Curl makes this useless I got this printer to replace my P2035n which had performed well for about 5 years. It is now in the garbage bin. The paper curled so badly as to make it worthless. I tried calling customer support and got nowhere. I tried buying high priced paper and the results were the same. As long as you don't have to use it in a professional capacity and can deal with curled up print outs, everything else seems to work out well. For me, this was a waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice features but... This printer/scanner is compact with many great features, however, I can't recommend it because after two weeks of use, toner smears all along the right edge of each sheet of paper rendering the printer useless for my business needs. I called the HP service department, but unfortunately, the technician could not logically help me with the issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just ok I have to agree with the previous reviewers. The paper tray is ugly. You can not keep it closed like on the picture because you have to keep paper on the tray in order to print. The wireless feature will not stay connected. I've pretty much given up on this feature. I simply plug the cord to my computer to avoid this problem. Also, the printer prints slow for the amount of money spent on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer I bought this to put in my truck tractor to scan documents, and print my customs manifests as needed. This was the second printer I bought for this purpose due to higher power consumption for the fuser on the previous one. I do WIFI Direct for much of the work as I'll scan documents to send to my office and the broker and that is the only shortfall. The HP Direct app on an android phone gives me a little grief sometimes. Haven't figured out the issues as it could be phone, app, or printer issue. Nothing I haven't been able to work around by simply deleting the printer and reinstalling. It also handles the rough ride pretty admirably and the inverter I have seems to have no issues powering it. Quality is decent enough and the print to output time is very good. Looking for a b/w printer, then look no further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from null I bought this product one week ago and "it has been a life saver." I immediately had to print important documents. However, when making a copy of a document, "the ink tends to bleed on the edge of the document.. You need to rectify this problem. In other words, it is "heavily inked" in some spots, but still readable. However, when you print from a Microsoft word document, the document is not "over-inked."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall - Great Printer I bought this same model MFP M130fw for my office at work about a year ago and found it to be extremely versatile and reliable, so I needed to buy a replacement for an older printer for my home office - best choice - the same HP Laser Jet Pro MFP M130fw. I love the ease of scanning, printing letterhead and envelopes. In the 40 + years of using printers, this is my favorite thus far..... highly recommend it for business and personal use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very bad printer 1) Almost immediately, started leaving ugly smudges on edge of page. This might be a bad drum, but the help on this issue is so convoluted that it is hard to tell. In any case, this shouldn't happen right out of the box. 2) Cannot connect to wireless network. Followed instructions to the letter: fails every time. 3) Started printing incredibly slowly (almost a minute per page). Tried to update driver, but HP Smart app cannot connect to the printer! Apparently, it has trouble when the printer is connected via USB. As noted above, that is the only way I can connect this printer. In any event, it should work with USB connections. 4) All in all, a disaster: hardware, software, and online service are no good. This one goes in the junk heap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This device is not suitable for Internantional Business We bought this for our head of HR. She receives faxes from all over the globe at different times. This printer doesn't have a way to turn off its sleep mode. I verified this with their support. So you must physically touch the device or print to it within 8 hours or it will not receive faxes. This makes it unsuitable for an international business fax machine. It prints ok and copies ok.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job well. It has a reasonable foot print. Set up and operation is pretty easy. We purchased this product to replace an older model that is pretty much the same unit. My only issue is the lack of service in my area and replaceable parts that would have prolonged the older units life. I shudder at the fact that I had to toss (take to recycling) a whole printer for want of a part that should have been replaceable. HP please realize that is not a sustainable practice and we need to be more thoughtful and move away from the "disposable" mentality.
