Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't work for what I needed I bought this a few weeks ago to use on a new work computer as I hadn't realized it didn't have an HDMI slot when I chose the computer. I am just wanting to project my computer onto a TV using an HDMI cable as that is my only choice in certain conference rooms. The adapter didn't work at all, even after having one of my IT staff with lots of knowledge try to help. When I used the online chat to ask HP what could be the problem, they just said that maybe the USB-C didn't work and I should try a USB 3.0. I bought one of those on Amazon and it worked after loading some software. If there is software required with this USB-C adapter, I didn't see that info anywhere.

I get the message "the last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned. Windows does not recognize it." I am trying to connect a Samsung CR50 27" curved monitor to my HP EliteBook 840 G3 running Windows 10.

Why did HP make a ZBook without an HDMI connector and then not allow video via a USB-C port? It is silly to have to purchase a docking station for this device. Most devices have an HDMI or USB connector that works!

I was just contributing to the cycle of poorly made tech products that couldn’t even be used as a paper weight. Came back to the website to buy this one and of course it works perfectly. Should’ve started here. Thanks HP.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked for a short time Mine worked for ±1.5 year then it suddenly stopped. The life cycle of this product is just above the 1 year warranty, but does not even reach the 2 years mark, which is disappointing.

Which was an HP, the service rep told me that this is what we needed for dual monitors. Now I guess they want me to buy the $100 docking station. They guarantted it would work after verifying what type of PC we owned.
