My first HP cartridge lasted me a year, and I bought some cheap one on amazon with good reviews it lasted maybe 20 pages, so I ordered the HP one from the app and realized I shouldn’t have bothered with cheaper alternatives. I’d rather pay for a product that just works.

Trying to contact Hp for a replacement has been a huge headache. there is no easy place on line telling me what to do and phone doesn't work. VERY BAD SUPPORT from this company. I am very disappointed and would like to return the defective cartridge for a refund but cannot figure out how to do that.

The first one went onto an old printer and so I thought it was the printer itself. But this one was for my 1-yr-old printer. There's no yellow! My orange comes out red. And when I try to print yellow highlight it comes out dashed with red/orange....again no yellow. Hmmm...somewhat discouraged at this new unexpected development with HP.

I bought the wrong dang cartridges, and didn't find out why they weren't working until I'd opened two of them! I purchased cartridges marked "63" because my printer shows up with that number in my printing center... but once I looked inside the physical printer, I discovered that I needed "61" cartridges. Extra confusing because they're the same form factor. Why not make more universal cartridges, if the form factor is the same? I'm really bummed about this big waste of money.

I always buy HP cartridges so when I replaced my black, I was amazed at the notification that the cartridge was NOT COMPATIBLE. I re-inserted the cartridge numerous times with the same result. I had ordered new color and black cartridges and used one of the blacks. It was fine. I am not sure what occurred with the other one, but $30.00 is a lot to pay for something that does NOT work.

My older version suddenly had problems loading ink cartridges. So I thought my old batch of 62’s might be bad so I bought more. That was not the problem so I bought the latest version. Of course all those 62 cartridges are useless as the new machine needs 63’s. No reason for this except to make more money off sheep’like me who continue to buy hp printers

Its just HP 63XL Black printer Ink I bought for my HP Officejet 5255 and does work great and gives you more Ink to print more pages! ...And I do recommend over the standard size HP Ink cartridges which don't last no time! But! ...For the price if you bought both the Tri-Color XL and Black XL Ink cartridges at the same time you could add a few more dollars to it and buy a nice new HP AIO (All In One) Printer, Scanner and Fax! And also don't assume the cartridges are going to last un-opened and still in there box until the expiration date on the box as they don't! ...And HP wont do anything about it! ...So if your going to buy them I suggest you use them! Come on HP get your prices down on Ink cartridges so people like myself can afford them and continue to use genuine HP Ink Cartridges!

Tried for two days to talk to a human. No human! I am out $41 for a cartridge I can't use. Want my money back! All you do when you call is get in a loop of automation. No choices are what you need. Will never do business with Hp again. A company is only as good as their customer support, and their customer support is non existent.

The fact that they provide an easy recycling program is a huge plus. Put yhe spent cartridges in the packaging they provide (Prepaid shipping) and mail. Printer is fine, I like features - except the touchscreen inexplicably goes dark about 2x p/day; need to unplug or turn off printer & reboot to get the screen back. What a pain! And the paper jams constantly. But, the big problem: I now have a printer than I can't afford to print on! I have spent more on ink in 1 month than the entire cost of the printer! I find that EXPENSIVE black ink cartridges (HP63) last ONLY 2 to 2-1/2 DAYS of printing! SUPER-EXPENSIVE HP63XL cartridges last ONLY 5 DAYS! There is NO WAY that I print 380-480 pages every month! I already print on the 'draft' setting. I don't print photos - though I wish I could...I have photo printing paper, but I now see it will be prohibitive to afford ink if I print photos, it's more cost effective to have them printed at a photo shop. I am unemployed/job hunting & on limited income - I CANNOT AFFORD $160 every month for ink alone! I wish I had know this before purchasing.... I would NOT have bought this HP printer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ran out in less than 3 weeks! I can't believe how quickly this ink cartridge ran out. I print on lowest quality to conserve ink, but it still ran out in less than 3 weeks. I am very disappointed, and upset that I spent so much money on so little ink! It did not last as many pages as it was supposed to.

I am out-of-work due to JCPenny bankruptcy and work shortage due to less hours of Barboursville, WV store reduced work hours. I have continued to try and send resumes to companies without any luck. I apply online but would want be able to fax a professional looking resume and cover letter to a prospective employer. I have used the same printing paper as always and have written your company for an adjustment to my payment receiving not any responses from you. We are done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will not work. The HP box the 63XL cartridge came in says it will work with the 3830. However, when I installed it I got the error message: "indicated cartridges are not for use in this printer." The printer worked fine with the previous two basic 63 cartridge (the second one has run dry), and the two versions look identical. However, the printer rejects the cartridge. No matter how good the cartridge may be, if it will not work when installed it is useless. It appears I am out $33, because I cannot take back the cartridge and opened box to the store.

I figured I would purchase this XL because I knew I had a lot of pages to print in the future and my old cartridge did not last very long. In the process of replacing the cartridge I discovered that the old cartridge was also an XL but unfortunately it printed less than 40 pages. I am hoping this new cartridge has made some improvements.

A few months ago, I bought very cheap cartridges of another brand. They ruined my printer. I will not make that mistake again. Like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for and cartridges are no exception. I had to buy a new printer and HP will be the only brand of cartridges that I will ever use.

They work incredibly well, and I frequently use the scan and print functions. I have noticed that the ink never seems to last very long; we just replaced both our cartridges approximately 3 months ago, and we don't print a lot. So utilizing HP's website, I ordered more ink. A promotion was going on, so I got free next day delivery, awesome! I did notice that for these particular cartridges, there are 3 different "sizes". Now, the cartridges are all the same shape/size obviously, but HP sells them with different levels of ink in them. My issue is why? I would compare this to a restaurant giving you a large glass, then offering to fill it to various levels, and charging more for each level. If the cartridge can hold "x" quantity, fill it up, and sell it, simple.

The quality even of documents was less than acceptable and when it came to photos, forget it! Switched back to authentic ink cartridges and never looked back. When I need ink, I log on to HP.com, make my purchase and usually have the ink I need by the next day--free shipping. Why go anyplace else? Great!

The replacement cartridges cost more than the printer (that frequency jams). So frustrating! I'm now searching for a replacement printer that will hopefully use less ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real disappoinment I thought that i was the only one who was experiencing abnormally low yields that is, until I read the reviews.Since august, I have purchased about five HP 63 cartridges. I have my print settings adjusted to black and white and on draft, and i find myself purchasing a new cartridge every month. I still have the same pack of printing paper that i purchased in August, which was an HP 750 sheet pack. I don't just use the paper for print jobseither and it looks like i still have about half a pack remaining of paper. It's not adding up at all. I might reah out to consumer affairs come to think of it. These guys are getting rich! They know that we have no real way of measuring how much ink is truly in those cartridges!

I bought the same cartridge not long ago and I only use it for casual personal printing. I don't feel I'm getting a fair value of printing for the price.

Installed the new cartridge and said to reinstall cartridge because it would not print went to help and done all steps it said to do, still would not print. went a bought a new cartridge and installed it works fine. Spoke to someone at HP he was no help at all. Now I have a 63XL cartridge that is no good that I paid $42 for and no way to get help from HP. This is the first time in years I have ever had a problem with HP.

It was and I also ordered the XL in the toner I needed to print more copies. To my surprise it was delivered within a few days of ordering and a recycle bag was provided for the old cartridges. Always had an issue discarding or recycling the cartridge. Will continue to purchase toner from HP. Thanks for providing the inventory, the service and the recycling option!

The ink came quickly and I've always been pleased that - to my knowledge - this is a company who seems to try to keep things environmentally friendly. The packaging is minimal- and mostly cardboard, so recyclable, and they included a bag for an easy way for you to return the old cartridges to be recycled just by sticking it in the mailbox. Ink as a whole for all companies is incredibly way too expensive and HP is no different. The regular 63 did not last me long, so I'm hoping I will get more bang for my buck from the 63xl. I think traditionally in the past I have. I also believe HP is a USA based company.

My husband's vision is going, and he can work the crossword if I print it on two pages. I haven't printed in color much, if any, but the colors looked sharp on the test page. It would be nice if the unit was more compact.

Website is easy to use, the price is good particularly for delivery on the next business day however I fell for the COMBO mistake because they show you first the 63XL black and I assumed that the tricolor would be the XL too. After printing just less than 80 pages, my printer is telling me that I’m low on Black Ink! Really? Its got to be a flook... but just my Luck. If it’s ever going to happen... It will ALWAYS happen to me! Thank God I ordered 2. I’m crossing my fingers that it won’t happen TWICE!

No longer purchasing HP products, and am buying a new printer since this one is already having other issues with printing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The ink won't dry I printed some documents with the new cartridge, somehow the ink won't dry (or won't fix on the paper) and after a week when I touched those paper the letter still got blurred by my finger. The previous one works perfectly though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from XL Cartridges I have tried the XL in black and in color and neither works in my printer. I have an Officejet 5200 series which is supposed to be compatible. They'll work the first few uses and then start throwing incompatibility errors. My aunt has the same errors when she uses them as well.
