Faulty cartridge and no way to get replacement
I have a Genuine HP cartridge under warranty until April 2021 that is faulty. It's making pages print with gaps through the letters. We replaced the cartridge and the new one works fine. I cannot find ANY way to return the cartridge. The support pages take me in circles and half the links are broken. I can't find any way to speak to someone. This cartridge was purchased in a twin pack on Amazon several months ago. If 3rd party sales aren't supported by the warranty, I just need someone to tell me so. Otherwise this has been a ridiculous goose chase trying to figure out any resolution.

I love that I get a pop up telling me I need to reorder ink for my printer. It's as simple as a few clicks and the ink is here usually in two days. No more getting out of the house to fight the crowds and the ink is much cheaper! I recommend it!

A Perfect Fit
I bought this HP 61 to replace a HP 61 so there were no problems. I was back to
printing in 10 minutes with a good rich black color. I don't buy the generic cartridges
I just use HP and have never had a problem,
I was surprised that there was no recycling envelope in the cartridge box. I thought
they wanted all empty cartridges back but maybe it has changed,
You will be happy with HP products.

I have had this printer for over 6 years. I love it. I bought it because of the price and the all in one printer. It copes, scan and prints. It's so helpful with school, emailing thing and the wireless hook up I can print or send things from my phone and hp computers.

I bought this ink to go in my HP deskjet. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to find any because I have had an older model one that I’ve had for years. HP of course had everything that I was looking for. It literally shipped the next day! The package was wrapped nicely and unharmed!

Black I k cartridge only
I bought the black catrige only instead of the color and black combo pack because it was on sale. I would of preferred buying the combo pack but with ink being so expensive that sometimes it's actually cheaper to buy a whole new printer, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get a deal on it. Although my black and white documents come out looking great, I do miss having nice
bright colorful documents.

I am very disappointed in the last 3 hp 61 cartridges I have bought. 1 at Amazon..2 at staples and I'm furious with the product I just bought another one from staples and I am not a heavy printer I used the basic print with no borders etc bold.. just copys of simple papers and AGAIN I just printed maybe 30 pages total if that and it's out of ink AGAIN. I'm furious..

Loved the recycle package
I purchased from the site directly, when the software alerted me that I was running out of ink, and along with the cartridge I received a prepaid package to return the used cartridge for recycling. I had always struggled with disposing the old cartridge, and this really helped out.

These ink jet cartridges do the trick fine but I'm always amazed at how fast they run out given the fact that I print so infrequently. Also this time the shipping was not particularly prompt. I order "Next Day" and it actually took four days.

Poor Quality.
I believe the HP61 Black Original Ink Cartridge is either old or recycled. The ink was very light. Unlike HP Black Original Ink Cartridges I've purchased in stores which were dark and rich in color. I'm afraid to type something for anyone other than myself with it because after a few uses, the ink appears to become even lighter. Even though I received it quickly, I feel the purchase was a waste of money.

Error with ink cartridge/ Printer great
I bought this ink cartridge( 61 Black ) back in Aug. as a back up so if I ran out I'd have one . I put it in at the end of Oct. and its saying that there's a problem with the cartridge??? It was working just fine up tell today! I have done hardly any printing so I took it out and put it back in and it still won't work !! The printer is telling me to replace it !! I can't even check the ink level cause it is stuck in that screen mode !! Needless to say I'm NOT a happy camper! I took It out again and noticed ink on my fingers so maybe it's leaking but not much. I rarely print anything so they usually last a long time for me. But it's only been a few weeks and it's not showing low or no ink just that the cartridge needs to be replaced. Never had it do this before. I doubt I'll order online again. Can you tell me what the problem is??? I am running up to the store to get a new cartridge now. Hopefully it will work!

I bought a new Black ink cartridge (61) to have on hand and was so glad as my ink ran out late at night, but I didn't need to worry about placing my job on hold as luckily I had a new ink cartridge to replace immediately. Nice having ink delivered right to my door very soon after ordering. I always use HP as the dark black ink makes a good clear copy. The cartridge is easy to install and lasts a good while.

Ink is a big business for HP. Most recent quarter they made $910M profit on revenue of $5.1B. That's bigger than their laptop business. Bigger than their desktop business. Bigger than their consulting services business. Their margin is just under 18%. So all in, the $20.99 I spent on this one small black ink cartridge made them a profit.of about $3. Cost of goods is certainly measured in pennies. They've done a great job making me nervous about buying 3rd party ink, so I keep spending the extra dough. Still, they're a quality company with excellent products. I just wish ink was cheaper.

I purchase directly from you online, and have nothing but trouble with the cartridges. The computer keeps telling me they are not real and I constantly get messages while trying to print - do I want to continue? The installed cartridges aren't real, etc. and they only last for about 10 pages. I am soooo disgusted with you, your service, and your product.

It is a black cartridge but printing quality is poor and it is coming up with shades on paper. I am not happy with the product.
If it was bought from any stores then I could return it and get the money back.

Received November 5 2018 and it's only November 23 now. So...your request for a review is a little early. I'm hoping this ink(also the tri-color received same day) will last more than 18 days! I've had a problem with getting less than the 190 pages the ad says it will generate. So...still waiting to see if I get my money's worth. Send a review form the end of December.

You can get off-brand inks in the store for a little less cost, but before the cartridge is empty, the ink always dries up. And, if you order hp ink online, not only is next day delivery free, but the price is cheaper than ANYWHERE ELSE, whether you buy hp or an off-brand.

I have tried universal brands before(to save Money) and every time it was a disaster.
I ordered the HP Ink online around dinner time and I received it the next day. Talk about quick.
It was a snap to install and I did not have any problems whats so ever with my printer (with the universal inks I had lots of problems with my printer)

Great product, but with one issue. Just need to use cartridge(s) roughly 6-8 weeks a year when we reside in a different location. The following year we always have to replace them due to drying out. I have placed them in baggies, or left them in the printer, with the same results. Any suggestions to prevent them from not drying out? Thanks.

This product did not perform well
I bought this ink cartridge a week ago and used it quite a bit. Within a week, the ink alert told me that it was either a copy and not an original or that it was out of ink. I could not get it to work so I had to buy a new box of ink at my local store which cost me about #29.00.
I am not satisfied with this at all!

The black cartridge is for my practically new hp deskjet 3050 printer. It was not recognised by the printer and therefore will not print. I ran it thru the cleaning cycles, alligned heads and removed and replaced the cartridge several times. However, the new color cartridge did work.

Ink did not work
I bought this ink because it is the ink recommended for my HP printer. I had ordered this ink before and it had worked great. However, this time, when I placed the cartridge in the printer, it did not work. It said it was no compatible. I have a printer that can't print sitting at home and a full cartridge that does not match the printer because of the electronic scanning that HP uses for it's printers and ink cartridges. When I inquired with the company, nobody was able to help me. For this reason, I refuse to buy any other HP printers.

I haven't seemed to be able to find the high yield cartridge for the black but also my printer will not even allow me to use a refill of an HP cartridge so that's kind of a bummer but it I have no issues with the quality of print. Just wish it lasted longer so I didn't have to change them so often.

Poor performance
I had to replace this cartridge after less than 100 copies. It was standard printing and not that much printing on a page. I was furious as I had something I had to print that had to be done. My first cartridge that I received with my new printer lasted pretty well. Had to go out and buy another in the middle of my printing and it didn't last for even 100 copies. What's this 190 copies you say it will do?

I purchased a 3050A deskjet printer about a month ago and while I'm not unhappy with the printer itself, it literally sucks ink! I found it printed nowhere near 190 pages, even in draft mode, but closer to 40 or 50 pages at best. Very disappointing. At this price, HP should reduce the ink cost by half. If you are a college student or business person, you should probably avoid this printer and buy something more economical. The price on the printer itself wasn't bad, but when you add $20-30 each month for ink, you may as well invest in something higher end.

HP Functional printers short-live cartridges
HP makes cheap highly functional printers in order to make their profits on over priced short-lived ink cartridges. When new, the performance of an HP ink jet is hard to match except if your printed document is exposed to direct wetness or high humidity. In that case the ink WILL dissolve and dissipate into the paper and become quite unreadable.
Most concerning to me it that the New authentic HP ink jet cartridges have a very limited life expectancy.
Once the New authentic HP ink cartridge is installed in the printer it only has a limited time before it simply no longer will work. I don't know whether it drys out or the ink congeals or crystallizes, or what. But, in a couple month with our without use the cartridge is done being a viable means of putting ink on paper.
New authentic HP ink cartridges are quite expensive use-it-or-loose-it devices.
My cost per page is about $2.00, which is simply not viable.
That's paying way too much for the convenience of printing at home.
Kinko's is only 10 cents per page for laser printing including paper.

Excellent product. I have used bargain cartridges (with my old Epson, which drank ink like a horse drinks water) but decided I would use only HP ink with my Deskjet printer. It really makes a difference in the quality. The print is clear with no smudges or sqiggley lines. I will order the tri-color as soon as I can afford it (maybe you can give my a coupon code???).

What happened?
I've been using this ink on my HP printer. I order online from HP, and no particular complaints in the past. However this time, either the cartridge was defective or their quality just drastically dropped. I got the replacement, put it in, and about 4 days later it said it was almost empty! We did not print anymore than we ever do, but we normally get several weeks out of it! I didn't have the packaging or box. I probably don't even have the receipt now, so I couldn't return it (besides the cost of return.) I may not be buying HP ink anymore, nor ever buy an HP printer again. Like I titled this, what happened?

I have been printing my 2 page resume, cover letter and envelope to go with it, each week doing about 30. Each black cartridge seems to last only 1 week. I'm concerned that I'm getting well below the 'up to 180 pages'. I can't afford to keep buying ink every week.
That said, I have no smears and the ink itself seems to be of good quality.

I have used HP printers for 20 years; I only get a new one if I get a new computer and the old one doesn't work with it (am on my 3rd printer). I only use genuine HP cartridges and have had great service with them. Also had great service with the printers, but they just wouldn't work with the new computers. Now am only using HP computers. I was in need of ink for my printer. I was unable to go out and get it. I ordered online. I have not been disappointed when I purchase from HP. The ink does not seem to dry out as fast as that which I have purchased from HP.

After thinking that I could save a few bucks by trying the knock-off from the Dummies, I quickly learned why I should have just stuck with HP. $18.35 out the window when the cartridge didnt properly fit, and then not able to return it to the point of purchase, then not able to get the company to stand by their product... FORGET IT!!! If I just came right here to HP in the first place and not been in such a rush to get my ink it would have only cost me $14.99 and no hassles!

Description says it yields up to 190 pages. I bought a cartridge and it printed ONLY 54 then I bought another cartridge to replace it....Guess what?? It ONLY printed 55!! The pages I printed out did not require a lot of ink, they were standard letters. I am switching to laser and most definitely will NOT be HP brand.

I have tried the do it yourself and the re-injected cartridges but none of them compare to using original HP cartridges. Yes, a little more expensive but worth the cost if you require very good quality printing.

I have always bought my ink from HP. Not only to they have excellent delivery times it is always free shipping. Any and everything I order from them is packaged so that I have know worries about anything being damaged. I also take advantage of their yearly subscription on my laptop which covers anything damage that my occur. Last year my Cat knocked it over and broke the framing around the screen. I called and they send all the packaging to send it in. I had it back within 3 days. I have always had HP Computers and printer and will continue to always buy from them.

2 days later I go to print something and it's telling me I need to change the ink.

I don't know what is going on, but I originally ordered the double size of ink, black and tri-colored. In no time, the machine said I was out of ink. HP sent ma a replacement. Now, it is saying it again. As an individual, I don't print that many copies. I get far more copies from Costco double inks . Please advise.

Bought a cartridge tonight to finish printing two page Christmas letter after I ran out after 20 sides. New cartridge (warrantied through 2013) didn't even get me through 55 more sides. No special font, or anything. Says prints up to 190 pages - complete hooey. No way to prove how lousy it was or get a refund. Buy anything compatible instead.

My office printer ran out of ink and I was in panic mode trying to find the ink at my local retailers. I purchased a HP Printer that uses the 61 cartridge. I have been unable to get anywhere close to the number of pages you indicate one should be able to get on your website, i.e., Color up to 165; BW up to 190. What could be the problem? I don't believe I have even gotten 50 pages out of any ribbon I have purchased. HELP!

I think it is great that I can buy 1 cartridge at a time if I choose. Since I live on Social Security this is a blessing for me because the price is the same as the store where I have been buying them but I don't have to leave the house. Also delivery was quick and a recycling bag was included. LOVE IT!!

Normally, I would go to amazon when I need new ink for the printer. With Covid-19, things like ink are not essential, therefore not available for 2 day shipping right now. I bought a new hp printer - was happy with my old hp, but it started printing slower after I installed Windows 7 on my computer. I am running off Christmas letters, and the ink cartridge ran out of ink shortly after I started printing. I put in a new cartridge, and it ran out of ink after roughly 50 pages. There's no way I'm going to keep using this cartridge. I may have to hook up my old slower printer...

The genuine HP print cartridges work great, but they are expensive. I have not kept track of how many pages I get, but it is not enough. I which there was more ink in the cartridge, or they cost less.

Excellent-choice for the casual-user, because of the size/price-range. But admittedly, if you're going to do medium-to-heavy usage? Buy this one like a "spare-tire", until you can get the XL-Capacity! Other than that, I could find NO-difference, in ink/print-quality whatsoever, between the two. And, best of all? You cannot install either of the Black and/or Tri-Color Cartridges wrong! They'll only fit ONE-way, and that's the correct-way! Doesn't take a "techie" to make it work...!

Bought one from an office supply store and had incompatible cartridge messages with from that one, so after some research I bought one directly from HP and I have the same problem!
Not happy.
Also, incredibly difficult to find anybody who can help. Clearly, HP does not want to support individual customers - only business customers.

Good for copying
I do a whole lot of printing for a living so i thought I would buy original ink and not refurbished stuff. The ink is very good for copying stuff but when it comes to printing, texts come out very light even when the ink is pretty new. Also it only stays dark after printing a few pages.

I ALWAYS order this item, in both black and white and color, but this time I ran out of ink in about 3 or 4 days! I hardly even had the chance to print stuff out! I printed out a couple of bank statements and didn't even get to use it for my work! This has happened once before, I'm not sure if I want to take the chance and order again or not? I had been buying economy 61 cartridges for years and they were drying out more quickly each time over the past few years. So this time I purchased the regular, not economy, and the print quality is so much worse. Had IT person see if it was a printer setting and it was not. I would hope to receive some type of compensation for the blind loyalty the I have afforded HP.

experience with hp deskjet printer
I purchased my hp deskjet printer at walmart last year and started using the hp 61 solid black. I attend school online at colorado technical university in colorado springs, colorado and have to print quite a bit of information for homework because all books for assignments are e-books. my experience with my ink jet is good, except this last one I purchased at walmart only lasted for 2 weeks. they usually last one to one and a half months. otherwise hp puts out products you can trust and depend on. by the way my printer only cost me $26.00 at walmart. ):

I purchased this direct from HP and expected it to last at least 100 pages in black!! It didn't even make 70 copies for me! I don't like that I can't control the saturation of prints with my Deskjet 2050 printer!

a bought this cartridges one on color and the other on black, placed on the printer and a printer msg appear saying that both cartridges are incompatible... so, can somebody tell me what number are the originals, cuase a took the info from this site recomended that HP61was the elegible for my printer

The only ink that I would use in my HP printer
The HP 61 and the matching color cartridge are the only HP ink cartridge I can use in the HP printer. They give do not smudge and the print quality is good.

1. Ink does not last as many pages as advertised.

My ink flows well with no streaking or smearing. Very happy with the time it took to get my ink, as I was in the middle of copying important papers to fax, and had a 48 hour deadline. Thanks to the fast shipping (Over nite), I had time to spare to submit my info via fax. What a life saver.

Totally disappointed with the quality, performance and quantity of pages printed with the HP61 black ink cartridge. I did not use highest or best quality yet got fewer than 50 pages of black text from the cartridge in less than 3 weeks before it refused to print because it was low on black ink. I had not used my new color cartridge at all. It was bought at a regular office supplies store, not a discount store. The specs say 190 pages. I will probably dump the HP 3050 printer after the next cartridge is used up and buy a different printer.

The shipping for this little item took too long.
I used the ink cartridge maybe 6 times and the printer was telling me it was out of ink. It might have been and old cartridge that sat on shelf too long.
It took a week to receive this cartridge.

HP ink cartridges are very easy to replace. I did order the wrong number the 1st time, with the #s for different cartridges being consecutive. I would do this quite often when I was purchasing them at the store. I'd know the correct # is 61. When I would get to the store, I'd start doubting myself, wondering if they were 60's or 61's. The 60's fit in my printer, but will not print. I won't have to worry which # is correct, next time, because my correct # will be stored in my online acct. with HP. I had no problem returning the wrong one's & getting my money back! It was quick! I immediately reordered the correct ones, & received them in 2 days.They included the bag so I could properly dispose of my empty cartridges & the wrong ones that I had purchased. I love not having to go out to the store to purchase, saving my gas, & not having to stand in the check out lanes. Plus, being able to repeat my same order next time, certain to order the correct cartridges.

Great ink cartridges that HP printer which is superb! I also own an HP laptop which is EXTREMELY high end and easy to use. However I guess I am a bit biased since I worked for the company as a DB2 DBA in Palo Alto following my MS in M.I.S. from the University of Arizona in 1985: February 1987 to July 1992.

Exceptional Ink
As a college student I am constantly printing something. In Biology alone I go through 30 pages a week. Much to my surprise, I had forgotten to purchase enough ink to last me through the month. Really, really like the speedy delivery, since we usually only order what we need for the time, and when we run out, we’re out altogether, and need a replacement muy pronto. HP is the only vendor who offers free overnight delivery, and we think that is distinguished customer service.
The website itself is somewhat unwieldy and unintuitive, but the free overnight delivery more than makes up for it.
One complaint though: after ordering, I’m offered to register for my free “reward” for next time. I comply, I think, with the instructions, but never get the “reward,” and it is becoming more and more vexing with each “reward” notification after each order. Either give me the “reward” or stop offering it, because it is a dissatisfier from a customer service standpoint.
