Unfortunately, a cartridge I recently ordered direct from HP only gave me 207 copies, though I used it to print the same type of writing as always. That said, I still think HP 56 is the best ink cartridge for my printer.

I always have used the same, except that the lattest 56 does not look like the previous ones. They used to be black outside and now they are brown.

However, the price for non-expired HP black ink is outrageous, and it is clearly an impractical buy for a color ink cartridge. I should have purchased a whole new printer instead, and it may not be HP next time.

Zippety Do Da! The cartridge went into service immediately for a Christmas newsletter. It produced perfect results. The only downside is that the cartridge cost a lot, as they always do. Ink should not cost so much.

I was looking at potential purchasing of a refab cartridge but felt that quality control was important. The refabs, looking at reviews, were all over the place on quality. It is temping since cost per unit is about five dollars an unit both for the 56 and color ink cartridges. Other then the cost the unit worked fine and my mother is happy.
