Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always a problem Had it for a while and then it had to be replaced. Now just the time works. I've contacted Garmin support and at this point I'm ready to give up. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best sports watch for the money I did a lot of research before I purchased a good fitness watch and the 245 was rated at the top especially for blue. My base requirement was a watch that looked good and was easy to use and would play music to listen to with my ear buds. After a few weeks, I would say it does a lot more stiff that I love like count laps in the pool, keep track of my run times, pace and distances, tracks my sleep at night and more. It’s really awesome. I’m so happy to support an American compost headquartered in Kansas City with manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, not China. I recommend this watch to everyone. It will really improve your health and you’ll look good wearing it. Thanks Garmin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Music Aspect is Awesome! Downloaded Amazon music and Runcasts to the watch, picked a few podcasts for my queue, synced a few favorite playlists from my Prime account, and it's ready to roll. Initial set up entails connecting to accounts, etc, but Runcast's FAQ was great, and the watch walks you thru it. Pairing well with Aftershokz wireless headset...very happy w the ease of which I can control music from my wrist while running. Relied heavily on the wealth of info that YouTubers have put out there in the tutorial world. Could find clear instructions on everything: from creating custom workouts to managing notifications. Great purchase. (And I love all the data I get on my runs!!) The only thing I wish it did is track my naps; the watch is only set up to track nighttime sleep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love the tech and all the data! I've been wearing an apple watch for years, and just got my new Garmin Forerunner 245 and loving all the tech and data! So helpful and functional as the battery lasts so much longer and can track all my workouts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Defective Screen Part of the pixels of the screen died after a couple of months. Talking with Garmin Support to apply the warranty was horrible: long queues, long process, days of delay in response, etc. After 2 months I received their answer and a refurbished watch (when I paid for a NEW one). Don't spend your money in Garmin, go to Fitbit, Polar or other.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from don't buy 245 music !!! The worst watch ever made by Garmin , broke down three times, spots on the screen and replaced with a new one. The representative in Israel does not answer emails, but only replace watches, a real joke. when the warranty expired we say goodbye

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great motivator I bought this a few days ago, so I am getting used to all of the buttons and getting started. It motivates me to work out so that I can see how I did for the day and it motivates me to get my water intake. So far happy with it, it is hard to read the screen when you are older and need readers though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features and accuracy This watch does a great job of accurately capturing GPS data and run analysis featuring time, pace, mile splits, heart rate; all while playing my favorite playlists and podcasts that I saved on Spotify. I also like how it tracks sleeping patterns and the amount of steps I've taken daily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love EVERYTHING I have had my watch almost 2 weeks. Im obsessed....I researched all the different types of Garmin and the music portion of this watch is what sold it for me. This is my 3rd Garmin but, first one that is used for more than just running for me. I love that I can get texts, emails, phone calls to my watch for no extra fee... unless I want to be far from my phone and then I believe its 10/ month to not have to have my phone close by. I love that it tells me how much I slept each night and tells me my steps. I LOVE EVERYTHING about this watch!! Highly recommended!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does everything claimed The podcast feature on the Spotify app is the biggest issue I’ve run into. You have to basically add it twice. You can’t just subscribe but have to manually download each episode and they don’t autoplay the next. It’s honestly easiest to make a playlist of podcasts on Spotify rather than using the podcast function. But pairing the Bluetooth head phones couldn’t be much easier. It also doesn’t auto detect any activity. So unless you start a run it won’t log it as a run. But the tracking when enabled is excellent, if the map doesn’t bother to show the roads. Audio cues are super useful as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for runners I purchased this FORERUNNER 245M from Helios Titan Store Jaipur on cod. First day I couldn't understand their working behavior. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it for running! I’ve had this watch for about a month. Love the lightning fast GPS connection and the accuracy of my HR and stats during a run. Loved it for indoor spinning until the most recent update. It no longer gives me an accurate HR when I’m on my spinning bike...I’m getting about 40-50 beats HIGHER than what my HR really is. That’s frustrating because I use these spins for recovery and I’d like accurate HR data from my watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t get the music version Every running feature they’ve packed into this watch is amazing except the music. I was so excited when the 645 came out. Finally I could run to the gym without my phone. Workout, run home. Super minimalist. But despite having headphones from the Garmin approved list they constantly dropped. I tried switching wrists. Resetting Bluetooth. Nothing worked. So I returned it a week later. That was last year. Fast forward To July 2019. DC rainmaker and others said the chipset was improved and the battery life was really highly rated. So I chose 245 music in the hopes of living that minimalist dream. NOPE. Still drops like Crazy and sometimes it says it’s connected and playing but it isn’t. I’ve tried it with other approved headphones with similar problems. Save $50. The rest of the watch is bomb

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Because it’s a runner watch I really like it and wish I had something like this when I was younger. I like the round face and the ability to easily change the watch face and bands. I haven’t bought extra quick release bands but kind of wish I got the black one or another black or darker colored garmin watch. I like the smaller size of the Forerunner 245 vs a fenix 5 or Higher line Forerunner. I’ve had syncing issues and other small issues I imagine I wouldn’t have with an Apple Watch or Galaxy line but I don’t know for sure because I haven’t had a watch before that had smartphone capabilities. In a few years I’m sure I’ll try and upgrade to the highest level forerunner or the fenix line. I would like full maps downloaded on the watch and a few of the other features I do believe are on a higher line watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First fitness tracker I am watch person so I never wanted to wear a fitness tracker or smart watch. I started running with all this staying at home and figured I wanted something to help me and to track my sleep. I also wanted to track my run and listen to music without hauling my huge old phone with me. I thought I would put it on before bed and take it off after my morning workout. The amount of data I am getting is amazing and I am now wearing it all the time. it is light and comfortable and it is not obnoxiously large or stupidly square. it has relatively intuitive but my first run and my first training I did not properly start my workout. I don't think I would wear it going out but I like the get up and move notifications so at the office may not bad - we will see when get to back to the office. So far the battery is AMAZING!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This machine is awsome except for one thing I used it once before i bought it, so i knew how good it was. And even it is more intelligent than i thought. But one thing, music services for forerunner245 music is not available in korea. Such as Spotify, or Runcasts. We have to download musics and put the musics in the decice to listen music facility. I tried for it but it took too much time and even difficult to do. So why don't Garmin to accept to use the app 'Youtube Music'? There are many koreans who use this app to listen music. So please consider it for people who stay in korea, and who use Garmin divice. Thank you ;) P.S My English is not good enough to be polite or perfectly correct. So please excuse me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great GPS watch for running/music. Buttons stick The GPS is accurate, music works well. Battery life without music lasts several days and several longer runs. If you use music, it will only last for maybe 4-5 hours. I have used it on several longer runs (20 mi) and the battery is around 40% when I return. The biggest issue I've had is the buttons stick and I have to use my finger nail to pull it out. I plan to contact Garmin about this after my marathon race is over in about a month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My garmin I bought this when it first came out because I wanted a more classic face than the vivoactive hr music. I was disappointed to find out it doesn't have Garmin pay. I also really miss the touch screen. I wish Garmin would make the forerunner with the same qualities as the vivoactive line. I switch back and forth from both watches but I prefer my vivoactive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch Love the music, I don’t have to worry about carrying iPhone during my 5 & 10k races any more. Only concern I’m have is trying to figure out how to calibrate my treadmill runs, it only asked me to adjust the very first time I ran on the treadmill and not being used to the buttons I hit wrong one and can get it calibrated now it’s almost 1/4 mile off every mile I run but only on the treadmill. It’s spot on out side every time Great watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving it! Just switched from a fitness tracker to this Garmin, and am thoroughly happy with my decision. I'm not a serious runner (yet), but I'm enjoying only having one device for my runs, and the easy upload to Strava is handy. Just started using Garmin Coach to train to run a full 5K, and I think the program will prove to be invaluable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor bluetooth with wireless earbuds I use this watch to listen to music via bluetooth with my Samsung galaxy buds. Unfortunately, the connection drops out up to several times in a minute while running. I've tried placing the watch on both wrists, running with my hands higher up closer to my ears, etc... Quite unfortunate since I got this over FR235 for this one feature. That being said, everything else is fantastic. Just bummed about the music :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loaded! Does more than I'll ever need and seems to do it pretty well without much effort on my part. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for tracking running I switched to the 245 from an Apple Watch so I could emphasize running. While I knew the 245 is much less of a smart watch it’s a bit jarring to make the switch. I’m satisfied with what I did and I’ll likely be even happier as time goes by.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice upgrade! Previously wore Fitbit but got tired of replacing them, they don’t have a repair shop. Once I got used to the size difference I found the Garmin to be more comfortable. This is a great smartwatch if you are looking for connectivity but not a serious attachment, and you don’t want to be basic like others. I love the features, I love the Garmin Connect app. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features, Love the Data! My fiance got me this watch as a birthday present, and I couldn't be more excited about it! As an avid trail runner, I've found this watch has been super accurate and reliable so far. Also, love all the data this little watch puts out. I've been nerding out on all of my heart rate and sleep data. Can't wait to wear this watch on the xc ski trails this winter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good GPS Navigation, Buttons Menu Good GPS Navigation, Clean default facing. Buttons Menu is confusing, facing edges already scratched after one day...the black powder coating on the edges easily scratched. Will take some time to get used to. Syncs well with Garmin App on iPhone, have yet to play music but synced with Spotify without issues. Thinking maybe should have gotten Apple Watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent best investment for runners! I bought this watch a week ago. I upgraded from a Fitbit charge 2. I love my Garmin Forerunner 245 Music. You can plan workouts in the app and load to your watch which is awesome! The gps I’ve found is 95% accurate, and my ONLY complaint is when working out on a treadmill INSIDE a gym my Bluetooth headphones cut out numerous time, but when running outside when the watch is on the same side of your body as the receiver I haven’t had an issue. So many personalization opportunities with the watch, watch face, button assignments when doing an activity etc, it’s amazing! The app is also super informative and great layout, easy to understand and see your weekly workouts/goals. Also the Garmin app links with my food logging lose it app which is a big bonus for me as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch, But A Few Features Omitted A satisfying running watch for a not outrageous price of $350. If you use an older Garmin that doesn’t support music/podcasts, you probably want it. The music integration works well provided you pay for Spotify or another compatible service, but doesn’t automatically load new podcast content on to the watch like the Apple Watch does seamlessly. Main disappointment is that Garmin held back the feature that adjusts fitness rating based on heat, the barametric altimeter and the full color maps for the most expensive 945 - if you are risk of getting lost without a map, pay up and get that one, otherwise the 245 is a bettter value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting Watch I didn't like this watch upon boxing because it is not a touchscreen. Has an array of great features. Once I figured out how to operate it. I found it easier to utilize. Still wish it had a touchscreen, connected to iTunes and that it would connect my runs and walk to Nike Run Club app. Even thought that seems to be a nike issue, but if you are a runner. You will love this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watcj I've owned Garmin running watches for years and years and this is my favorite. It's relatively small so doesn't overpower my wrist and it's light. I love the safety feature that if I have an emergency, like tripping and falling, it'll alert my contacts. I also bought the Dynamic Pod to go with it. While I'm not a super numbers geek, the information it provides is great. The watch is easy to use, a real plus when you're running. And I love the fact that it has my music right on it. All in all, it's a great watch and I'm very happy I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent watch for runners I bought the Forerunner 245m a few days ago and have done various activities with it. I was able to successfully paid my Apple Air Pods with it, log my first run, check my respirations per minute overnight, and monitor my daily stress levels. It has a lot of interesting new features. The only thing I don?t like is the amount of clicking I need to do to get through to different screens. I have to click 8 buttons to get to the music function, which is quite a lot. I was a Fitbit user before this, so there?s a bit of difference between the two. I had to watch several videos on how to make the music function work, but I did get it working. So far, so good. I love the quick release band and the circular face.

I owned a 630 before this watch, and that was a great watch, but I wanted to upgrade music as I found it uncomfortable to carry my giant Galaxy phone around while running. The music feature on this watch works great... plenty of room, good bluetooth connectivity. I am happy with that and every other feature on the watch. V02 max estimation, workouts, etc. Really like the new body battery feature which works a bit like Strava's load metrics. Another view of things when your working out often. I'm knocking one star off, because I find my heart rate trails some while I'm running (see the dcrainmaker review, he hits that point exactly as I'm seeing it). My 630 seemed to do a better job here. Lately I've been doing a lot of heart rate training and I feel like I'm always trailing by about 20-30 seconds or so. I think if the sample time on the watch could be adjusted down some to say last 10 seconds or something like that you might get more aberrant numbers, but as your running you would get more immediate feedback which I'm after. Perhaps there is a setting I can change to do this... Overall, pricepoint for this watch is great, highly recommend Garmin, and the music feature is awesome. You really can't go wrong with Garmin products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty disappointed I bought this watch 4 days ago and it’s been frozen on a weather app since day 1. Unable to reset or power down watch. GPS location never worked. Unable to find satellite. Won’t show my position. Wouldn’t play music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real bad software The first time I tried to do an activity it became immediately unresponsive and drained the battery completely in the hour I did the activity and couldn't lookup how to power cycle it. The software is extremely unintuitive to use. For some reason auto pause is based on GPS not cadence, so it will take 5-10 seconds to pause if i'm stuck at a light. It takes a long time for the GPS to connect, I lost the first mile of a run because it was searching and 200m after an auto pause before it found signal again. The music takes forever to sync (think hours) and often fails.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Running made Easier I made a switch from the Fenix 3 to the FR 245 with music and the positives are, no need to carry a phone for the purpose of listening to music, it's so much lighter and fits my little wrist better and bye bye chest strap. The watch is set up a little different as far as getting to my training workouts but it's pretty easy to get used to. Syncing with Spotify is so easy and the display is perfect. I am loving this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The feedback of my Forerunner 245 Music The Forerunner 245 Music is my second Garmin watches. I had at Forerunner 35 before. It is a major upgrade for me and worth, especially I got a 30% discount from my company. The Forerunner 945 and Forerunner 245 came out at the same time and I did a lot of compare including features and the size of the watches. I ended up getting the Forerunner 245 because of that I just need a watch for running every day and training for my Marathon, occasionally I will use for cycling. The 245 can do the job for me. Of course, the 945 also has the same features and even more but I don't want to wear a big watch every day when I am not running. I am on my computer for almost 8 to 10 hours a day. I need a lightweight watch and wrist-free feel. Again when I compare, money is not a big concern. After using it for about 2 months, I love my watch. However, I found out that sometimes I have to turn off and on the watch before going to run, otherwise, the Spotify music app will not work, no sound on my Bluetooth headphone and the heart monitor is not working. I don't know if this is just my watch issues. If I don't have to deal with this annoying process turn on and off of my watch every day, I will give five stars for this review. By the way, one thing I want to mention, the Garmin Express is not working well. Every time I use it, I have to plug-in and plug-out the connecting USB cable five to six times to make connect work. Now I start using the Sync feature, which using the Wifi connection to pull data from Garmin Connect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome but... So I got this watch in June and have been loving it since. The only problem I have has actually only started pretty recently, the “light” button gets stuck pretty often when I push it. This has been a disappointing because it turns off my watch and the time gets out of wack. I have never ever worn this watch in the shower, or anything, never spilled liquid on it—nothing, so I was pretty confused as to why it started doing this. I wish I knew how to fix it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the features and the comfy wrist band! My husband bought this for my bday as I have gotten into endurance running and needed more feedback than what my apple 4 watch was able to provide. This garmin is so much lighter than the Apple Watch, gives more feedback and has many cool features that are specific to running. I am super pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch! This is for anyone but residually those who are statistic driven in their fitness or training journeys. Fantastic form and fit with solid performance in a package that is attractive yet conventional. The always on display can be easily seen outside or under adequate light indoors but can be challenging under poor lighting. It does have a backlight so this helps. I am new to running but I've found that the pace, lap, and heartbeat tracking really help me in my weightloss journey. The apps are limited at this point but the watch faces are abundant hopefully the apps will improve over time. I just don't use apps on my watch anyway so this isn't a deal breaker. On the music version you are limited to Deezer or Spotify and they have to be premium accounts to function. I am firmly embedded in the Apple ecosystem so it was a bummer that I had to cancel my Apple music account just so I can still listen to music without my phone. Overall I am thrilled with my purchase and highly recommend the Forerunner 245 Music if you are serious about weightloss and training.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best option for phone free music via Spotify. Looking to get into running/ Cardio exercise. Key feature for me was the ability to play my spotify playlist in an offline mode (phone free) the Forerunner 245 Music was the most cost effective option that allowed me to do this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buggy I have shared my complaints with Garmin and its representative. The main issue is start/stop button is easily depressed from everyday normal activities, mainly removing backpack from shoulder. Second is same button locks up from time to time. Have to power down a few hours to reset it. Third is software refuses to go back to watch face/"home screen". It jumps around different screens, mostly to run. Disappointed that cost of watch didn't include barometer or NFC for payment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like it a lot! It is my first smart/fitness watch but I do like it a lot! Good features, great gps, works well with treadmill, and love not needing to take my phone on a run to have music! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and read in sunlight I’ve only had this watch a couple weeks so haven’t used all the features. But the ones I have used were easy to set up. I created a long run interval workout and a pace run. I didn’t have to look at the watch because it beeped when I needed to change intervals. When I do look at the screen, I can easily see the data, even in the sun. About a week after I got the watch, my dog ate the band. I called Garmin to order a new one and they sent it to me for free. I really appreciated that. Thanks, Garmin. Can’t wait to use more of the features of my new watch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features Overwhelming number of features. My head is still spinning trying to set them. It makes it more complicated to use and frustrating at times. Probably more features than I will ever use. Once I get past this I am sure it will become an invaluable tool for me. The only reason I have it a 4 and not a 5, is the setup issue. On a 5 positive note... spent 1-1/2 hours with customer service, only to find out my first watch was defective (GPS not working). Brooks the CS guy was phenomenal!! Knowledgeable, mega amounts of patience, personable, and very polite. Had my replacement in my hands in a couple of days. This goes a long way with me. Get the watch. Good company, good products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice watch with very good features. I got my forerunner 245 Music at last sunday night. I've found/ tried most of the features include the new version playing music with pairing my Bose bluetooth earphone, as well as using Garmin connect IQ & Express to get some nice looking Watch Faces. My overall summary is: I like this watch! but just have concerns on price is a bit higher than others. as we as the overall size is a bit smaller for a gentleman user like me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Limited music streaming services supported :-( I bought the 245 Music watch because of the music features - specifically that it allows streaming, not just downloading - from their website: "Requires premium subscription with a third-party music provider" - THIS IS MISLEADING!!! It should've stated "with SUPPORTED third-party music provider" - they do NOT support PANDORA - which is a very popular music streaming service and the one I use. I'm keeping the watch in the hopes that they soon add Pandora to their support music streaming services.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well polished watched, minus two I’ve been using Garmin watches since the launch of the 910XT. Every watch has had its quirks and issues. The 245 displays a well rounded GPS watch with music capabilities. Battery life is relatively strong at around 4-5 days with exercise. Wrist band material was the best yet of any watch. The two reason is returned the watch and moved to a competitor 1) your Sony chip algorithm is trash. The 910xt has better gps accuracy 2) the buttons were starting to fail after a couple weeks. I had to soak the watch every day. I don’t understand why you guys can’t design buttons. The 910 had 3 button failures. 230 had zero. Like come on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for escaping but wanting music/podcasts I bought this a couple months ago when I got tired of carrying my phone when I ran alone. I like to listen to music or podcasts when I'm running solo and carrying my phone became too much of a distraction. I felt myself constantly looking at Slack or work emails or responding to messages, so being able to wear this and listen has been wonderful. Originally I was only wearing this when I wanted to listen to something and my Fenix 5S all the other times. Now I only wear this watch as I have also found it's way lighter. I love it. Highly recommend.

I’ve started running more miles and was tired of carrying a phone to listen to music. That was the primary reason for getting it and was easy to set up and load music on. I was expecting it to be a hassle but truly wasn’t. All my Spotify playlists were visible and I just picked the ones I wanted on the watch. I really like the heart rate monitor and make it a game in long runs to see how low I can keep it. I run 20+ miles per week and have really enjoyed it. I would get it again without hesitation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so (not) good. I have only had the music 245 for 2 weeks, so these are initial impressions. I have the Garmin 235 which I love, but I really wanted a watch that played music. So far I am very disappointed. First of all, the watch seems to be very selective with regard to which songs can be downloaded from iTunes. Out of 800+ songs I have only been able to download around 60 songs so far. Secondly, I cannot toggle between the running screen showing my data and the music screen for pausing, forwarding, music etc. It is a royal pain to have to push numerous buttons in order to toggle between the music playing screen and the running data screen. Maybe there is something I’m missing? I hope that things will get better as I learn how to use the watch but for now, not so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unencumbered Is the Way To Go! Without reading the manual, I: Charged the watch, sync'd it with Garmin Connect, added music and went for a run. This watch (my first with music) represents a paradigm shift in my running. I'm amazed how much lighter and unencumbered I feel. I guess I never realized how much my MP3 player bothered me...and it is tiny. Carrying one less item has made a huge difference in my motivation to run. That might sound silly or "soft" but it's the truth. I run more often since getting this watch. Two more impressive features are the display and the weight. The display's resolution is visually impressive. This is my 6th Forerunner and, by far, this has the most readable display. Also, I intentionally skipped the 645 Music because of the metal bezel. Although it may not be, it looks heavier than the 245 Music. This watch does not shift around while running. It is so light and secure, it simply stays in place without having to cinch the strap. I couldn't be happier with the Forerunner 245 Music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Running Watch! I purchased this watch about a week ago, but I can already say that I’m so impressed with it and glad I made the purchase. Starting with the basics- it was super easy to figure out, which was actually a little bit surprising to me (I was expecting there to be a bigger learning curve with trying to navigate through all the settings). Loading music onto it was also very straight forward. And the battery life has been great- after 5 days (including 2 short runs), it was still going strong. Once I explored past just the basics and started checking out all of the great features that the Forerunner 245 Music has, I was hooked. I purchased this watch to help train for my first marathon this year, and I’m SO glad I did. I wake up and am excited to train with it on. Garmin did a fantastic job with this watch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life on a Wrist I've only had my Forerunner 245 music for a few days, but I'm already thrilled with the decision to upgrade from the Fitbit HR I've had for a couple of years. Performance is great. Weight is comparable despite the additional size and features. The reporting is MUCH more broad and advanced. Best of all, this with my new bluetooth earpieces mean I'm not fighting with cords and having to carry an MP3 player while I run. I'm still learning the features, but that will come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Garmin I jumped ship from a Apple Watch in the hopes of finding a better watch. Love the way this watch looks. After a few days of getting used to how it works it became easy. A learning curve. Love the easy to read data from the app and that I can put music onto the watch and leave my phone at home. My only issue after a couple weeks- the heart rate seems to be off. I use a chest strap and believe those are the most accurate. My watch reads a solid 50 lower than my max I my chest strap shows. Found other watches to do better than this one so far. I use my chest strap to target hart rang. While the watch gives voice cues for zone, I found them to be off and not helpful then. Second issue the app crashed once and lost all the data. I train endurance and weights to compete, but running is something I’m adding more in. I think this watch is great feedback for that other than heart rate. Would I buy again? Not sure. Only a few weeks in so going to give it more time. Hope so for the price point. Female- the monthly tracker is really good feature and helps me see correlation to my training and patterns to hormone fluctuations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good but could be better Had the watch 3 months, last few software updates have caused watch to hang and need a reset. Setting up apps downloaded is easy, built in apps and screens are good. The biggest issue is for the price there are other models that are better if you get them on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit early to review I have had the watch for less than a week, and am still trying to figure out the technology. First problem - not compatible with my Airpods. Second and worse issue - I keep trying to download a Spotify playlist and it keeps failing although it says it is successfully connected to wifi when I begin the process. extreme;y frustrating, as the whole point of this was to not have to bring my phone with me on a run.It is great for everything else but right now I am either still lugging my phone along or just running without music. Also beginning this morning it keeps saying it is failing to sync with the app - that wasn't a problem the first 3 days but seems to be now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't get my itunes I only listen to music from my iTunes downloads. I should have done more research.....I'll probably be selling this online soon. If I can't listen to my music then I drastically overpaid for this device. And it's really really hard to manage notifications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for money I got my wacht a couple of days ago and I've had time to test it out during my daily routine and on a run. So far, I'm really satisfied with this watch. It has a lot of great features for its price (heart rate, VO2 max, music, sleep tracking, workout plans). I did have some trouble setting up the wifi (and Spotify), but I solved that using my phone's hotspot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic on all fronts!! I got this watch about a week ago and, not only is it accurate, but it’s fun! It’s got everything you could ask for. I had no idea a watch could provide so many stats after a run. I also love the safety feature— it just makes me feel more confident. My pace appears to be a whopping 40 seconds faster than my prior running watch. I’m sticking with Garmin moving forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running watch I bough this watch in order to get the extra stats for my HRM , the stress and SpO2 stats, and music. Overall the watch is great for running, the only cons I've seen so far are battery life (I only get 6 days per charge without music) and that the SpO2 takes to much battery for daily use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from screen muted and battery died 1st long bike rid This model lacks a touch screen. A little more complicated to navigate than my former garmin. In addition, the battery died on my first several hour bike ride while music was playing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits perfectly on my small wrist I am a short hiker, and I always struggle to find things that are small enough for my wrist for fitness tracking. This watch is PERFECT for me. It's very lightweight, so I barely notice it when running, hiking, or sleeping. I love using this to track my hikes and it synchs right to Strava, which I love. The data it provides is incredible too. I love that it tracks my elevation and pace. It's the perfect watch!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Music not working I just purchased this watch only to find that all music services are not working and that this is a widespread issue. If you’re thinking about purchasing this watch, I would highly recommend waiting until Garmin fixes the sync issue with music. Other than that, I like it - but I bought this one specifically to have the option to listen to music while I run. And so right now the watch is useless to me. Going back to my Apple Watch until Garmin can figure this out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overall package Very light, nice large screen, easy to see during the day and the light is nice and bright at night. Notifications are consistent and vibration feedback is strong. heart rate monitor runs consistently and watch faces provide cool real-time graphs or health stats. Bluetooth connectivity is patchy when I run, I assume it’s something to do with the GPS being on at the same time since any other time it’s fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Fitness Watch!!!! I bought this product a week ago and have yet to have any complaints. I play Lacrosse, Cross country, and Volleyball. I run about 15 miles a week. The Garmin Forerunner 245 Music is easy to handle, has a lightweight and good looking design, and has tons of widgets that can easily be downloaded from your phone. The music capabilities are great. The timer and stopwatch are exact, and the HRM (Heart-Rate Moniter) is perfect. Overall it is a great watch and I would recommend it to anyone who does sports or any type of fitness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great bang for the buck you don't get all the functionality or battery life of a 935 which I love and own. However, the 935 doesn't have music. It really depends on what you want to do with the watch. I don't think this was meant for the multi-sport enthusiast. But if you really want to save money and have a great music-watch that you can run in the rain with or swim with...you cannot beat the price tag on the 245. CONS/drawbacks: *no open-water swim - at least, I couldn't find it. *no triathlon mode *can't create custom brick workouts. *battery life noticeably less when playing music. *you can drag/drop you mp3 files directly into the watch...super-easy. *podcasts: when you drag/drop these into the watch, it may or MAY NOT show up in the watch. I can't figure out why this is. It's not specific to certain podcasts; it's completely random. From the same podcaster, I will download, drag/drop and it will work just fine. Then, the next episode from the same podcaster won't load into the watch on a different day (?) pros: *smaller for smaller wrists *graphics appear to be upgraded. *custom workouts get uploaded seamlessly *voice assist for your custom-workouts is great ! *music/podcast during runs...and NO PHONE to CARRY !. *run in rain without phone. no worries about damaging expensive phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was nice when it worked... But today or decided that the date is tomorrow and the time is 45 minutes ago. I called Garmin and have to send it back for a new one, which I will have to reprogram, add my music to, etc.. I expect to be without a sports watch for a week. I also discovered that any watch that has a GPS is useless in open water swimming- GPS fails as soon as the watch is submerged. OK for pool swims, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch in general I bought this watch a while ago and I am very happy with the features and in general. I do suffer from two things that make it annoying sometimes. 1. It take sometime take up to few attempts to establish connection with my iPhone and sync information. After few attempts it connects and works great. 2. It sometimes takes up to 10 minutes for the watch to get satellite connection. Rather than these to issues, this is a great sport watch with smart watch features and not the other way around. I hope this helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Distance measuring isn't accurate I've used the Garmin 245 for around 5 runs so far. The first 3 overestimated the distance by around 20%. The next one was about right. The last one underestimated by about 10%. For example I did exactly the same run twice in 10 days. The first run measured the distance at 12km and today it measured it as 9.09km!! Exactly the same run!! The settings are the same GPS is turned on too

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the extra money for the Music feature I am very very happy with my Garmin watch. I debated about spending the extra 50 dollars to get the music feature and I am SO glad I did. I use that feature all the time now, when I garden, walk, and do housework or at work. I wear a lot of workout clothing that has no pockets for my phone, having the watch lets me have my music with me and able to listen to it everywhere. Regardless of having a pocket or place to carry my phone. I really like all the features so far!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All the options!! Had this for a few weeks now. Love love it! So much info provided about your activity and ability to personalize what you measure.Ways to connect w others for training, so many different watch faces to chose from. Great style and size for a small woman’s wrist. I do have some doubts about the heart rate monitor. I always shows high. I work in a hospital and can compare, the numbers don’t match up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it but battery life isn’t as advertised I love this watch and the battery lasts much longer than any of my old watches, but I don’t think it can actually do 24 hours in GPS mode (not using music feature). Also, there are some inconsistencies between distances on this vs other GPS watches and I never know what’s actually correct, but I do trust Garmin. Also, Garmin has awesome customer service. There was an issue when I first got the watch - I couldn’t download or sync Spotify - and they helped me out and were super nice/great customer support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best running watch to date I love this watch. It is my favorite to date. Allows me to run without my phone for music and keeps me on pace for all my workouts. I am a runner and triathlete. I use it primarily for running and occasionally in the pool for laps. I have a separate bike computer for cycling. For open water swims I use my old 910 garmin. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bluetooth Pairing Issue Unfortunately I have a pairing issue with my I-Phone 6s. After updating everything and running through the motions on all instructions I find myself at a loss with this device. In order to pair via Bluetooth I have to power the watch off and on for it to pair for a brief few seconds. I have run through the process every which way and had no luck with this pairing to my phone for long enough periods to access the features associated with this device. I have resorted to utilizing all of the features available with this device via my laptop. This is not optimal and is frustrating to say the least. The watch itself is very nice and is packed with features I will use. The build quality and size is perfect. If the paring issue was not an issue I would rate this 4 stars. I shifted from a Fitbit and still prefer the touch screen ease of use my Fitbit provided. This is not an issue given the Forerunner is designed for a more serious athlete. Maybe in time I will figure out this pairing issue and can up my rating on this device, for now its just frustrating.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent workout tracking and battery life I've had this for a month and a half and it has performed beyond expectations so far. Battery life lasts at least a week before I break down and charge it, which usually it's still at 25 percent battery remaining. Workouts are tracked accurately and I love the metrics that I can see on Garmin connect. I only wish it would auto track workouts just in case I forget, but it's a minor annoyance. Plenty of workouts built in and the GPS seems to track quite accurately. No issues with bluetooth connection to my bose headphones and polar h10 hmm strap. It has all the features you should need unless to want more smart features or triathlon specific training. It's a great watch if you work out frequently, love seeing metrics, but don't want to spend 600 bucks on a high end model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from small, compact, works as expected Originally thought I'd like the 945 but it's big and bulky. This is a lighter, trimmed down version geared towards running. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great update This is my 4th, maybe 5th Garmin Forerunner. This watch is very good if you're like me and have maxed out on all the features of the previous versions. There are almost too many featues and the way you access them arent inuititive and requires some learning. If you are an Garmin user, or a slightly techie person you will figure it out . My previous Garmin had a touchscreen, which I didnt like a first. The 245 doesn't have a touchscreen and now I miss it. I would recommend this device for anyone that is looking for advance features such as Heart Rate monitoring and other VO2 max type training stuff. I like that it lighter than previous models and quite comfortable to wear. The onboard Spotify (music feature) is a nice bonus too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome device I just got my Garmin 245 Music and I am loving it! I have not used the music function yet because I am waiting on purchasing wireless headphones. This is not super important to me anyway, I usually run without music or podcasts. I do find the watch to be highly beneficial to my running. This is my first running/fitness watch and it meets all my needs! It is a great size, easy to read and comfortable enough for me to wear 24/7 to track sleep etc. I did my first long run with it and it really made the tracking of miles and pace so much simpler than the steps it takes for me to access and use my phone for the same function! A lot of the other data is so helpful and it integrates seamlessly with my phone. I am looking forward to using it to listen to music and podcasts! Powerful tech!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great running watch I love all the features in this. GPS is extremely accurate, Garmin Coach is a great service, music syncing is great. It is, understandably, slower than my Apple Watch was when syncing, etc. but that's fine. The Heart Rate portion of it can deviate (as they normally do on wrists, + my tattoos there [my Apple Watch would consistently disconnect every 2-3 minutes]), but that's to be expected. Battery life is great, consistently at about 4 days of usage all day with GPS running ~1.5 hours a day. Love, love, love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek & Easy to use! I bought the Forerunner 245Music a couple of weeks ago, and I love it! It gives so much transparency into my training both real time and post run. I'm still learning how to use the watch, but learning has been easy. Navigating the app and watch has been fun and "easy". I'm not too tech savvy so it's a breath of fresh air!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problem with GPS I bought this a couple of weeks ago. The first time that i used took about 10 min to the GPS get connected..The secound time, about 3 minutes. Today was the worst, the GPS didn't connect even with the clear and blue sky in a park...It's a shame since i bought this watch for this only reason

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the watch, not sure about the connectivity I bought this earlier this week because I was tired of the GPS issues with a different watch. So far I really like the watch and the capabilities. I don't think it does sleep tracking as well as my previous watch and so far I haven't been able to sync with MyFitnessPal. On the plus side, the GPS connected right away and tracked my first workout the distance I expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight fits a woman’s wrist I have small wrists and it’s hard to find fully featured watches that not only function well but look great. This strikes the perfect balance. The HR monitor was wildly inaccurate the first week but after continued use and tightening the strap more, accuracy increases significantly. I like the colors too (I bought white) I almost bought the 935 but didn’t need all the features and didn’t want to spend that much money for a plain black watch. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch! Amazing features, good battery life, love the music. I used Amazon Music and it maxed out at 350 songs, which is more than enough, though not as many as it's rated for. However, the songs I downloaded were probably longer than average. I didn't want a smartwatch. I'm a runner, I mostly just care about the running features. This watch covers all that I'd want, with a plethora of running features, plus some cool smartwatch features too. I love the buttons, they're way more responsive than a touch screen. This is not a watch that'd win the style awards, but that's not what I care about. It does look good, just not as sharp or fancy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best watch for a runner like me! So, i spent 2 weeks deciding between the garmin fenix 6, forerunner 945, vivoactive 3 & 4, coros apex/apex pro, coros vertix, polar grit x, garmin 45s, and lastly this forerunner 245 music. I watched and reviewed all the videos and articles available. In the end, i realized that as a returning runner I didn’t need the extra features of the high end options i was choosing from. Nor the toughness and prolonged battery life. It was just a want and not a need! Good to have but not essential. My final decision rested on having the Garmin 245 music. I was happy with that in the end. I needed something with music capability and it felt liberating running the first time without my phone on me. Second, I need something to track my heart rate and my watch did the job. It was a plus that it tracked my stress level and body battery. A feature not present at higher models. Lastly, the gps tracking is more than essential. To build my watch tough, i bought a case cover and screen protector by MiiMall In amazon. It looked great! Also, I liked how I can also use this as a piece of jewelry by being able to change watch bands. I have so much color options! Did i have buyer’s remorse? Well, yes for a few mins when I saw in fleet feet that the 645 music and fenix 5 was on 25% sale. But, seeing the comparisons online the garmin 245 music still stood out. If you run marathons then this is good enough for you. Obviously not for endurance athletes and complicated people. Also, Garmin is still the BRAND to trust! I have never been happy with this watch purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for running and general crosstraining I've gone from the original Vivoactive to the Vivoactive 3 to the Foreruner 245M. I started off on fitness but migrated to mostly running. The FR245M adds more specific running features to the VA3 (my son got my VA3). I wasn't sure I was going to like the music but I do, no phone is nice (no calls/texts when out for a long run) although I still bring it occasionally. This is what actually got me to sign up for Spotify. I like that the training plans are so easily used on the watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broken bluetooth chip. Got this Forerunner 245 music as a gift this past week. Heart rate sensor, sleep tracking, mapping runs, everything seemed to work well at first. Everything but the Bluetooth. I couldn't ever get it to connect to my smart phone. I ended up plugging it I to my PC and installing garmin express to make sure i had the up to date software. Everything worked. I was able to connect my wifi network, upload profile information, everything... except Bluetooth. By hour 4 I had tried everything I could think of. Factory reset, uninstalled Garmin Connect, reinstalled Garmin Connect. Tried a different phone. Nothing fixed the issue. What's weird is it did recognized my bike's Garmin speed/cadence sensor. The only thing I can think of is the ant+ worked but Bluetooth didn't. IDK. It doesn't pair with phones, headphones, or pcs running zwift. I got on Garmin support and they're offering to swap out the unit for the same model. I'm very hopeful that it'll fix the problem. Only bummer is being 2-3 weeks without a fitness watch for rides and runs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Falling in love It's been only two days since I started using my Forerunner 245 Music, and I'm already amazed by the features and possibilities. This is my first Sport SmartWatch. I was using a Fitbit before this, and the HR reading always seemed off. Forerunner 245 Music provides great workout/run readings, but the additional information that presents gives me a great insight to keep improving my marathon training. I can't wait to see my results a month, six months, and a year from now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Running Watch! I was torn between this and the 945. Couldn't justify the extra cost for only an additional feature or two that I would actually utilize, but didn't want a lesser product either. For solo rides it’s been great to have music to listen to without having to bring my phone and for running it will be great to not have to deal with my phone hitting my leg or having to strap it to my arm or carry it in some other method! This has more than plenty features! I expect that I’ll begin monitoring more of the analytics in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very nice Upgrade I had used the Forerunner 110 forever. When I finally ran it into the ground, I bought a Forerunner 245 Music. A much nicer running watch with a lot of features active people will enjoy. I did have a problem in the first couple of months with the watch band breaking from the watch. I contacted Garmin had a discussion with their Customer Representative. It took them about a week to set me up with a new watch. I have had now used the new replacement for a couple of weeks and everything is working great. If you need a good runner's watch look no further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed in the watch I took my time and researched which Garmin watch would best suit me. I decided on the 245 music because it had all the features I was looking for and wanted at a great price. When I got it, it was extremely difficult to set up. It still will not pair with my Bluetooth ear buds. I can’t get txt messages in it, and can’t get music.. I think it’s pretty lousy that you have to paid for Spotify premium to be able to listen to music..where other watch brands you can have pandora, iTunes Amazon and Spotify all for free. The battery does not last 7 days as stated.. I’m lucky if I get 2-3 days. I have tried YouTube videos, and even drive to the fleet feet store across town to have them help me thinking I was missing something… nope not one person could understand why none of these features were not working. I’ve tried calling Garmin and get no answer. I will be returning this watch and looking for another brand. Very disappointed when I was so excited for this watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Me This watch is perfect for me. It works great with my powerbeats pro headphones. Ive never felt so light or unrestricted while listening to music on my runs. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch for Exercise and Every Day Life I bought this nearly a month ago and I have been very impressed. The many watch faces are a fantastic way to personalize this watch. I compared this to a previous item and it reads in a more accurate manner. I wish there was an integration for Strength. It's quite a bother to have to stop and press the pause/go button while working out. Fortunately, on the desktop, you can go and edit/add anything that is missing. It is tedious work but I'm glad that that is an option. I have not been let down by the battery life, I was worried at first since the watch screen was always visible, regardless of if the back light was on or not. I'm notoriously bad at charging any electronic I have, finally made it a habit to plug it in when I shower and it's a fast charge for sure. The Bluetooth connection hasn't been a letdown. The buttons and how-to are a bit clunky and I would say have somewhat of a learning curve/adjustment. But once it's figured out it's nice to have on a run where I don't need to take my phone. Once you move away connectivity becomes spotty if you're not wearing the watch for whatever reason, and it's expected of most Bluetooth-supported devices. The widgets are hit-or-miss, that's all. Overall, I'm really impressed with the features it has, I wish it had more integrations, but that's personal want for some who regularly does weightlifting.

I have spent hours of my Christmas morning trying to sync Spotify to my forerunner 245 music with no success. Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s OK, but lacking some features I want I’ve been using the 145M mainly for running only. I do this because it’s has no barometer (so no stairs), no NFC ( no Garmin Pay) and without a barometer, no ability to run using power. I don’t really care about the SpO2 or Pace Pro. And, sleep tracking is always off, since you need an EEG for proper testing (like sleep labs use). For every day, I use a Venu since it fills in many of the 245M shortcoming and I can wear it to work. 245M is a little too plastic for work. I’m looking to replace it with a 645M since, even discontinued, has more of the features I want. But the 135M is very good for a running watch.

Though I only had it for a few runs before my event, I was able to figure out all the options I needed and wanted to use. On the day of the marathon I was confident that all would go well. And it did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful! Great features - small battery :/ This is a very complete watch to start your health and fitness process or to support your professional level if you’re an athlete. However, the battery it seems to be very small. I have to charge it every 2 days if I’m using music while I’m walking/running. If I don’t do any sport activities, it lasts up to 4-5 days. I like the watch and it makes me feel motivated to continue my weight-loss process.

Nothing solved the issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got me hooked on running watch! I never considered using a running watch before but decided to try one to step up my running game. This exceeded my expectation and it is now part of my daily wear. The buttons are simple to use and the interface is clear. The strap is comfortable but requires thorough cleaning if in contact with sunscreen post run. The app ecosystem is great via Garmin Connect linking to my preferred running apps. I also use this in conjunction with the running pod which gives further insights into the analytics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still learning I love my new workout watch. I’m still learning to use it, and all the functions on it, but it’s a great watch. It has helped me to improve my run time, and paying more attention to what I’m doing besides running. I use to just run, with no clue of anything (time steps). Now, I am able to see and hear what’s going on, causing me to not just move, but to move with a purpose. This watch is a great investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features but not durable Bought the forunner 245 exactly a year and a week ago. Watch is fantastic in terms of features and accuracy. However the strap came loose and almost drop the watch during a run today. Checked on it and discovered that it was the housing that actually broke off! Warranty unfortunately just expired by a week, so i guess it will unfortunately not be used anymore. Garmin really needs to improve on this on an otherwise very decent watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! I bought this few weeks ago to replace my 645 as I had a pretty big fall & snapped where the straps go. Initially disappointed because I thought that it would be a downgrade, but it has all the same features and more. Love that I can still listen to music, customize workouts, & get all my running stats (cadence, pace, etc), and now I can also see more details of how I’m recovering incl. my avg. SP02, avg. respiration brpm, & body battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome upgrade from the 235! I finally upgraded my Garmin 235 and this is definitely worth it. Loads of extra information and much faster overall compared to the 235. I didn't take off a star because I really do love this watch, but I will say the battery life isn't the best. I used to charge my 235 every 2 weeks, but this watch needs it 1-2x/week so I'm not crazy about that; however, the extra data points and real time syncing with Garmin Connect during my workouts is worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly frustrating installation process Wow, what a horrible experience. An app on the phone. An app on the computer. A SECOND app on the phone. Lots of information on how to buy new stuff, not much on how to make basic features work. Attempting to install one feature (which I had already installed on another Garmin device) is now running 3 hours -- and I'm not sure if it will work. Multiple updates that require plugging in, unplugging. Sometimes syncing works --- and sometimes it just fails for no obvious reason. I bought a Garmin device primarily to avoid putting all my eggs in the competitor-named-after-a-fruit ecosystem -- but the Garmin experience is truly awful by comparison.

Battery life is starting to dwindle (never leave it on the charger after 100% has been reached) and my steps no longer show up on my watch face, which does have a special face of the face watch (first world problems, but still is something that is offered and doesn't work). I've also updated as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Readout too dim, cannot increase brightness Returning this watch! Love the functions but the watch face readout is insanely dim - looks like an iPhone at 30% brightness. And that’s with the “backlight” on. There’s no way to increase the brightness, it’s supposedly because of battery performance, but this is shockingly bad. Don’t listen to me, look at the forums on Reddit and even on Garmin. This watch has disappointed many others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, Except the Music Portion I've had this watch since December of 2021. Coming up on a year of use in about 3 months, and it's great. I love everything about it. EXCEPT for the fact that I paid extra money for a feature that does. not. work. Headphones pair properly, and music plays without an issue while I've just got the watch running. But the second I try to listen to music during an activity --the whole reason why I purchased this watch--the music cuts out and I hear nothing. It seems like this is an issue several other people have had, and I'm just frustrated. I've been running with my phone in hand and just playing my music from there, but I shouldn't have to. Coming up on my 1 year warranty and I think I'll be returning/exchanging this product for one that actually does what it's supposed to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good watch with some frustrating quirks. The 425M is a very good running watch. All the primary functions a runner would need and then some. Looks great and lots of customizability. However, I was disappointed in the poor screen visibility in certain situations especially in shade. I wish there was a brightness control. I found the set up using the watch menus difficult and some simple settings difficult to modify. I would not say the menu system is intuitive, and I had to rely on the manual a lot initially. Also I found it a bit strange that you need to download 3 Apps for full control (Garmin Express, Garmin Connect, Garmin IQ). Although I appreciate the solid connection of the charging cable, I worry it will break over time, and wish the supplied cable was longer so the watch could be placed on a night stand. Once set up, it's a nice watch to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Feel Free I originally bought the Forerunner 245 without music to try out and compare to my Apple Watch. Honestly it was an unfair comparison because the Forerunner is simply a superior watch for fitness activities. I don’t miss the apps from my Apple Watch because I have them on my phone. And the accuracy and detail of running metrics delivered by this watch make owning it a no-brainer for the serious athlete. I exchanged it after a week for the music version and found it easy to add Spotify playlists to the watch, pair my earbuds and run without a phone for once. I felt free on my run and that’s such a priceless feeling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My best Christmas gift in decades I was given this watch for Christmas. I started running again and had complained to my wife that I didn't like bringing my phone, wanted to listen to music and also track my runs. I was given this and ear buds for music. I absolutely love the features. It is super easy to track my run or even bike ride.I'm not a tech person by any means and haven't quite figured out how to make the music work, but I also haven't tried very hard. To be fair, I also haven't figured out how to make my music work in my car (not the radio, but streaming like my Amazon music) and I have had my car for two years. Point is I love the watch and so many more feature that I keep discovering. I highly recommend it. I don't know if it is because I haven't figured out the music yet, but the battery seems to last a long time too. I just throw it on the charger every couple days while I'm in the shower or getting ready for work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weak battery Hello, This is my second Forerunner watch, what negatively surprise me - the battery is not enough for one day, you should charge it every day in the end of the day. Before with my previous Forerunner I didn't have such problem. Even I am not doing sport and haven't download any music application yet - but the battery is not enough. I really don't understand, what happened. My old watch can keep the energy for few days in active regime. I bought it in December, 19th and starting from end of December, it starts to require charging every day. In active regime one day is not enough. The rest I like a lot - I get used to Garmin watch as it motivates me a lot to have active life style. I am still learning about some new function, as I've just bought it, I am still missing some instructions, how to install some features, like laps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Downloading music is laborious Day 3 and finally figured out through hours of researching that you have to update the watch for it to sync with Spotify. Even after this and hours of syncing it only has 8 songs from my 20 song playlist. Other than that the watch seems solid. The music feature could use some debugging and better support. There are tons of people in the reviews who had the same problems so that tells me it’s a application issue

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Headphones Not Compatible Bought this watch to listen to music. 500 song storage is selling point on box, nowhere does it mention that only certain headphones will not work - found this out by searching internet, finding forums regarding this issue and Garmens response to one user was we make watches not headphones and is a Bluetooth licensing issue - poor response! So now I have a $100 pair of headphones that can’t return and a $290 watch ( thank goodness didn’t pay the RRP for this) that can’t use for purpose as music is so loud makes it unusable. Can’t rate your watch properly as can’t use - really disappointed with first Garmen purchase. Other features seem ok and once you get to know how to use think would be a good watch howeverbwill probably return as unable to use for purpose want it for - do I buy new headphones and run risk they don’t work - once you register device you get email recommending headphones, nice! How about giving this info to consumers prior to purchasing, ones recommended Tarah by Jaybird are $249 nearly same cost paid for watch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Screen defect I bought this unit ~6 months ago. I have used it regularly, but for its intended purpose: running, biking, etc. today, totally randomly, a large circle of dead pixels died in the screen. Not following any crazy activity. Totally randomly. I have tried to get the unit replaced, but the website says I can’t return it. The warranty should allow me to replace the unit within 1 year if it breaks during normal use. Great product when it works, but do you want to roll the dice and get a defective unit?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 245 music will not connect to my iPhone or my mac I have just upgraded to a 245 music from a 245. I thought i was doing the right thing because the 245 worked seamlessly. However! the 245 music does not work at all. It powers on but will not connect with my iPhone. It will not connect with my mac and will not mount on the desktop like the 245 did. There is no way of copying the settings and profiles from one to another without copy and pasting a multitude of files from the old device. This is not even possibly as the 245 music does not appear on the desktop. The chat and telephone helplines are shut. of course. The device cannot be used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Forerunner 245 music: perfect! I bought it one month ago. I’m completely satisfied. I did a lot of comparisons between this and others smartwatches also from other brands. This won the black box conparison. Now that I’m using it for running and biking I’ve to say that I probably did the best choice. Perfectly compatible with I-phone (OS 14.2). Hundreds of metrics for running, biking (and I’m sure also for other sports). Perfect for tracking daily activities (hearth rate, stress, sleep, fitness level, VO2max and SPO2). And more you use it, more it learns from you. Perfect for listening music (I’m using it with Amazon music). Really the best valur for money. I don’t give the laude only for one reason: a bigger display would have been better. 32 mm for me is a bit small. You can read everything, is only my personal tasting. To Garmin people... really really well done (from a person who always used a suunto).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chock Full of Features I've been thinking about buying a Garmin watch for about a year now, and got this one for Christmas. It's perfect for my use, running a couple of days a week, and pairs seamlessly with my Plantronics Backbeat Fits bluetooth headphones. I really cannot believe all of the features that are built into this watch for a relatively low price. If I had to find a con, it would be that there is a bit of a learning curve to setting up and using the watch. I had to watch a few YouTube videos and read the manual pretty slowly to get over a couple of humps. Now that I've got it dialed in, though, it takes me about a minute to get everything fired up for my run and another minute to sync with the app on my phone when I get home. Overall, I'm very happy with it and wonder why anyone would spend more on another model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my watch! I got this watch because I was having pacing accuracy problems with my other watch that I had for a long time. I have done a few different workouts with it and it has worked well. I enjoy the app as well. It’s easy to use with lots of great information.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, but lacks This is a great watch, but it has a few minor problems (which could be fixed but Garmin usually doesn't bother fixing small problems. For instance: The body battery is completely broken metric, it doesn't have open water swimming or triathlon activity tracing (which isn't a hardware deficiency, meaning that it could be added by Garmin through a software update but they are too selfish in that regard because you need to pay almost double the price just to get those features in a different watch). But still a pretty good watch considering these downsides, mostly just Garmin being Garmin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from User friendly Amazingly simplistic layout with in depth analysis of your day to day activities. Love the app. Love the buttons. Love seeing my progression. What I enjoy the most is the eagerness to accomplish my daily goals. The watch gives me a reason to get up and move and it holds me responsible for my activity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin Forerunner 245 Music Very light & has cool features such as syncing Spotify & you can customized your Training by setting interval trainings. My only comment is that I wish the backlight intensity could be adjusted too in terms of intensity but overall I'm satisfied w/ the sports watch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing purchase I’m so happy that I purchased my forerunner 245 Music! Job well done by Garmin!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Data Been using 245 music for several days, and it has surpassed my expectations. HR is very accurate for real time usage - I've verified it with a chest strap and a blood pressure monitor. The data in the connect app is useful. The badges are cute but monitoring my progress is most important to me. Great product compared to my Wear OS based watch using Fit app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best running watch with only one flaw. This is one of the best running watch series on the market. This watch is one that actually makes you run to see yourself improve. I LOVE this watch for what it can do. But a broken pixel on the display after 6 month of purchase was a bit turn off. Support was fantastic, thanks to quick replacement with the security deposit, however I shouldnt have to do this if the watch was made flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ready set run! I just got this watch earlier this week and already i am in love! i am an avid runner and prior to this watch i had been tracking with my apple watch series six, which is great, but i wanted something geared toward running. light weight, sleek, and easy to use, i have already fallen in love with my garmin! run an extra .1 to properly record run goals (marathons, specific distances) b/c they post .1 short on strava (ex if you watch says 13.1, strava will record 13. so run 13.2 on your watch to properly record the marathon distance!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, stylish and has all basic functionalities I’ve had this watch for 3 months and I’m happy with it. I spent a lot of time debating whether to get this model or 945 or maybe the latest fénix. The main thing that drew me towards this watch is how light it is. I’m female and my wrists are small. All other watches were much heavier. I wear my 245 all day long and forget it’s on my wrist. I’m also happy with the battery life. I keep all connections off (WiFi, Bluetooth) and only term them on if needed. I use the watch ~5 times a week and the battery lasts me the entire week. I actually use it more for road biking than running and it works well for both. I sometimes use the music capabilities and the best part about it is the audio updates it gives you (time, pace, etc.).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the forerunner 245 with music I’m on my SECOND forerunner 245 w/Music and what an amazing device for the price point. Such a great companion for steps, runs, training, and JUST enough smart features that I feel in the know, but not totally distracted with stupid apps that erode my brain. Customer service with Garmin is as good or better than any electronics company I’ve ever dealt with. Will be a Garmin person for years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Watch for Runners The Forerunner 245 w/music is exceptional. It has all the features a runner would want and easy to use. The watch pairs easily with wireless headphone and the running dynamics pod, which is small, convenient and delivers high quality running data. It took just two clicks of the mouse to put my playlist on the watch. The bluetooth connection is strong through my runs. I'm an avid runner who logs 25-30 miles per week and this watch completely satisfies my needs. I would recommend it highly to all runners, especially those for whom running with a phone isn't the experience they're looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! I've been a long time fitbit user (5+ years), and recently had some problems with glitches. I had been eyeballing the garmin and decided to make the switch. I've had it for a few days, and so far I love it!! It's got great features, and I am so glad I made the switch!! Not having a touch screen threw me for a loop, but now I am enjoying not having a touch screen. I do wish the screen was more colorful, but that is such a tiny complaint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was great! Until it broke down 17 days later I got Forerunner 245 Music for my birthday to help with monitoring my workouts - and especially running sessions as I'm training. I absolutely loved it, especially the battery life - compared to my old Samsung Active 2, which I had to recharge every night. And everything was great - until today on its 17th day of use the workout selection button won't press, so I can't use it for its main purpose - tracking workout sessions. Trying to press other buttons just sets the watch in crazy screen-changing and random "Lap 12! Lap 10!" coming out of my phone's Connect app. So I guess the quality isn't there, after all... Very disappointed. Hopefully the customer service would be better than this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rather Disappointing I bought my 245 music in November 2020. It is a good watch with a wide range of capabilities which I find useful. There is a tendency for the feedback on training and performance to be trite, superficial and condescending. It would be better just to receive the data and leave it at that. My watch is inaccurate in distance measurement. The error is greater than 1.1% which is disappointing for a Garmiin product. As a competitive athlete, even thought I am 76, to be measuring 0.25K out in a half marathon is not really good enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far, so good! I just purchased the Forerunner 245 Music this week and so far, I am pleased. I wanted a watch with better GPS service compared to the Fitbit Versa 2. I also love my music when working out and this watch has the capacity to store up to 500 songs. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent running (and life) companion. This watch is an excellent training companion. I am training to do a half marathon and this has nearly everything I need. Great watch, bought primarily for running. Fantastic to be able to leave phone behind with music and GPS built in. Pros: Transflective Display for excellent viewing in sunlight and outdoors Buttons are far easier to use than touchscreen during activity, and menu/setting arrangement is reasonable Great battery life Fast, reliable data sync to Connect App Fast GPS signal/acquisition, and accuracy throughout runs Reliable Bluetooth connection to Wireless Earphones Can add your own music as well as Spotify playlists (and download with WiFi which is reasonably fast) Phone notifications are very useful Water resistance for piece of mind, beware the Hot/Cold contrasts that could cause condensation (Have not experienced, but important to be aware of) Running statistics and data are comprehensive (Can be connected to Running Dynamics POD or HRM Strap for more accurate/more data) Stress/Body Battery measurements and analysis are useful information Cons: Sleep tracking is not accurate, and relies on you setting a typical bedtime. Will treat periods of awake but low/no activity at night and in morning as sleep. (Common on many Garmin devices from what I have read, hopefully an algorithm update soon) No barometer, so your elevation is calculated after data sync to Connect app. Minor, but it would be nice to have a screen protector provided. The screen is Gorilla Glass so plenty hard, but for a few cents it would be great to have one included with purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Neat little fitness watch I've only had this for 4 days now but am really enjoying using it. It's nice to be able to run without carrying my phone and have it collect and show all the fitness data on Garmin App. Takes a bit to get use to scrolling through the watch menu itself but so far so good. I think if your trying to get back into running after a break, this is a good tool to purchase to help you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the features, but I love all you can do and keep track of with this watch, but you can’t see it outside, I would gladly give up a little bit of battery life to be able to see it. The music feature is awesome as well! If you are a runner this is the watch!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor battery life I want to love this watch, it looks great and offers a lot of features. But, it's not very user-friendly compared to Fitbit. I also don't find it to be as accurate as Fitbit when tracking stats, such as calories burned. However, it's the battery life that I am most disappointed with! I'm not even getting 2 days out of a single charge. I'm afraid I won't be able to live with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brightness too low I have bought this watch recently. For me the watch is WAY too dark. You can turn on some light when you turn your wrist etc., but still it is very difficult to read. And you can NOT increase this brightness. So make sure you test the watch in a store before you buy. Also the Bluetooth connection is perhaps not the best. I have been forced to repair the watch a few times.

Really easy to customise and once I worked out the relationship between Connect and the watch I was able to sync it easily. Have downloaded a cracking Spotify playlist for the gym tonight! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first Garmin watch! Wanted more activity and health data, so moved up from a pedometer to Garmin's Forerunner 245 Music. Wow! What a nice watch and platform! The watch is easy to set up and the supplied directions are a good summary. The online directions are thorough and easy to follow. I wanted to try this watch out before moving up to either the Forerunner 975 or Fenix 6x. I've used it for 3 days now and find the Forerunner 245 Music to be comfortable and accurate. I have small 16cm wrists, and the watch looks nicely sized - similar in size to most other watches I've ever worn. I've worn a 190 gram military watch before, so this one feels really lightweight (38.5 grams). I don't notice it on my wrist while running. Its silicone strap holds it securely in place even when I work up a sweat. It easily paired with earbuds, easily synced with Spotify and my computer's music library - works perfectly - no issues. I love products that work. Thanks Garmin! Very satisfied.

I bought this watch because I felt like I needed more than the Apple smart watch could give me. I'm still learning, but definitely love the convenience of having music on my run and not having to take my phone. I also love all of the health information that it tracks and I can use to improve my workouts, pace and effectiveness of my training. Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of features…some I don’t like I had the 235. I love the fact that my husband can now track me, as I run alone a lot and sometimes now after dark. Also, I guess if I fall, it will alert him hopefully. I need to learn more about that. But I got it at Christmas and only one run was not labeled “Unproductive”, and it was “overreaching”! It says my body battery is low a lot. Yes, chasing after 1 and a 4 yo grandkids does wear me out. So how much trust do I put in this? And I never use the Music. Never could get it to download all the music I wanted, plus I usually carry my phone so didn’t really need that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perspective of a enthusiastic 20y/o Hiiii I'm V, a 20 year old girl that lives running, yoga and doing crossfit! I consider myself a very active person and my experience with the forerunner 245 music has been nothing but great! The garmin features motivate me to push myself harder (I love the little badges and challenges) and bc of precaution not taking my phone on runs has been a total relief! The forerunner is comfy, super light and also looks really cute on the wrist lmao. Honestly if you are someone that enjoys music, excersice and just can't stay still this watch will be be a great friend! Only thing I'm a bit disappointed in is the fact it doesn't have a crossfit feature but I use the calorie widget and I do believe it's pretty precise. Anyways maybe other models are great but I wouldn't change mine for nothing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best running watch!’ So glad to be back to having a Garmin for my running! I had a Garmin years ago. Then went to an Apple Watch. After a few years the Apple watch was so inconsistent with my runs & would randomly turn its self off, even though fully charged. I knew I wanted to go back to Garmin. I did my research on the different styles/options. I decided on the 245 with music. I’m beyond happy with it & wear it not only for my workouts, but daily. I would highly recommend this brand & the 245 with music specifically.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good watch, but... I pretty much have it figured out and I'm using it on my runs, but I'm not an expert on it's operation. When the music is playing, it verbally tells me my time for each mile, which I like, but when the music is off, it won't talk to me. I wish it would. Also, if I start my run with the music on pause, after a while, when I try to start the music with one touch of a button, the music function has turned off and I have to access it again while I'm running.

It seems like my battery life even without using the music from my phone drains quicker than my old Garmin 35. I love the color teal and that the band looks stronger and is holding up better than the 35 which I have ripped 2-3 times from clothing and biking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Los of features but also a lot to figure out! I purchased this a few weeks ago and I really like it,. It's my third Garmin watch but the other two were totally waterproof which is great for me since I swim and kayak a lot. The only thing is that both of them leaked after about two years. Hopefully that won't happen with this one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Music stops working I loved this watch at first. I uploaded my own playlist (which was not the easiest from a Mac). The Garmin express app makes my new iMac crash, so I have to use my laptop which has very little music on it. Then I learned I could use Amazon streaming with my account, so I chose that. It deleted all of my playlists, so that was a drag, because it had taken so long to get them on my watch in the first place. Then one day, it would no longer sync to Amazon, so I deleted the app and tried to put my playlist on again. 4 hours later, it still would not work. I uninstalled my watch and the Garmin express app, but nothing worked. I can only play music coming from my phone. If I wanted to carry my phone, I would just play the music from my phone! Also, I have had to buy two replacement bands for the watch, because the silicone tab that holds it in place keeps breaking. Even though it still holds a good charge, this has been inferior to my old forerunner that I paid far less for. Next time, I’ll look for a brand that actually works. I’m so disappointed that such an expensive watch is such junk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great training watch I bought it a month ago. It works very well. Has a lot of usefull and amazing functions and information about health and training. I just found some negative points that should be fixed in the future. The buttons presure doesn´t feel smooth, it feels a litle "clacki". The internal alarm sound volume is very low and almost unaudible. A very recommended watch

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really hard to figure out Hard to figure out. Can’t get the hang of the buttons. Lots of clicks needed to get anything done. Connecting to Spotify not easy. Seems like a lot of stuff is actually done on the connected app, not the watch

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing watch! I’ve been using the watch now for the last two weeks and I really love it! My runs are all tracked and other activities - it’s been great! The watch is super easy to handle and I like all the extra features! I yet have to use the music setting. I love running in silence but wanted the option since I like to leave my phone at home (and with the emergency button I feel safe to do so)! The watch charges extremely quickly and is super comfortable to wear! 10/10 recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unfortunate purchase I am sure I am a bit tainted with the Garmin Vivoactive 3. I received the Forerunner 245 watch expecting quality on par with the Vivoactive 3. Its not. Quite cheap feeling and not as easy to manipulate. I purchased the watch specifically for its heart health functionality including the oxygen sensor. Its the only real difference from the Vivoactive 3. I could never get the watch to actually read my oxygen levels. I am fairly confident it was set up right. Googling is there are a lot of people having the same problem. I started the return and it will ship out shortly. I purchased the Vivoactive 4. Hope it is better quality and works otherwise I will head to another manufacture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Distance and pace are way off. For some reason when I run it inflates the distance 20%+ on longer runs. Example : I ran a half marathon race that was 13.18 miles on an official and chipped coarse, my watch had me at 14.4 miles. Not my first Garmin product but the first time I am left extremely unhappy with garmin

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge whitedot / dead pixels issue I have had my Garmin Forerunner 245 Music for less then a year and a white line of dead pixels started appearing. It then turned into a big whitedot which hides part of the important information during the running training. I have emailed Garmin Costumer Services several times but never got a feedback. The watch itself is very good and the features are excellent, too bad the screen doesn't help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Music/ battery I have had this watch and have had to return it once as the watch froze and could not get it to do any functions even tried to reset watch. The 245M battery is not as long as the 645M one I had a few years ago. I am having a problem again like I did on the 1st watch of my downloaded music has completely been wiped out from my watch. I have had this issue more than once and had to re sync my phone and my spotty app. I like this watch very much and l like how it is water resistant/ waterproof. I like being able to wash my dishes and have my watch and and have it clean the entire watch. No other smart watch has this capability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfekte Uhr und perfekter Service Ich kann diese Uhr nicht genügend loben.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch, but in 2,5 years two times pixel erro I bought it 2.5 years ago. After ca one year pixel errors, luckily got replaced within warranty period. Now a new pixel error line appeared. I am very disappointed. Ridiculous quality. Nevertheless it is a good watch, it worked perfectly for trail running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin part of my body I never use to carry any gadgets for my run or fitness. Then I moved to some local fitness watch and used it for a year. I found all the data's were not precise and up to my expectation, that's the time moved Garmin. Now it is part of my body and there always to provide all healthy data's for me to make note and improve my running. It is simply amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All that I need I was given this for my birthday and I love it! Best present ever. I used to use my phone all the time to track my running and it wasn’t that best thing, so this is a much better convenience. I Can also Connect my AirPods and listen to my music through there. It had everything I need on a run. It charges super quickly, and lasts for a good week. Highly recommend getting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Missing features... Previously I had a Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, and I was unhappy with the frequent need for battery recharging. I bought Garmin cause friends told me the battery would last longer, and it does. But, now I miss being able to synchronize Garmin Connect with my Multilaser Digital Scale HC059 (which worked perfectly with Samsung Health); I miss being able to turn off alarms and timers set up in the mobile phone just using the smartwatch (seems there is no way I can do it with Garmin); and I miss the touch screen (although I was aware Garmin didn't have one). Besides, I found it a bit tricky to understand and use. I have been watching videos besides reading the manual in order to fully enjoy it. But I tell you this, there is a lot of things in it and it is not easy to find them. So far, I am still missing my Samsung smart watch. Hope I come to better interact with my Garmin and just overcome the previous one. In addition, I only had two apps with the precious one: Samsung Wear and the scale on (FitDays). Now I need Garmin Connect and Connect IQ just for starters, but I realized I may need some others in order to properly interact with other activities... I really haven't realized that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool and minimal with great features I’m coming from a Fitbit and it was a bit harder to use at first due to it not being touchscreen and honestly now I love it so much. My favorite would be the pacing feature!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my watch I've been using my Forerunner 245 Music for about a month now. At first, I was a little wary of the change (I used to have a Venu Sq) because I thought that one tracked everything I could possibly need. Boy, was I wrong. Don't get me wrong, the Venu is still a good watch, but I wanted to take my training to the next level, and the Forerunner not only tracks my runs more accurately (GPS feature, and I can review more stats on the watch while I run), but it is also way more user friendly for strength training tracking. Would definitely recommend if you are someone who trains multiple disciplines at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Watch, Lots of features, battery issues. This is my first Garmin watch. I enjoy the watch and I have been gaining a lot of insights into my training. I still have a lot to learn. The watch has a ton of features, unfortunately, all these features can be a huge battery drain. I am learning what features to use while maintaining a decent battery life. I found it very helpful that when I was having trouble with the battery I could find answers online easily. I enjoy my Garmin and look forward to using it for many years to come.
