Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fluke 62 Max Can't beat it! I'm a Gas Turbine Field Service Representative, with a full Engineering Naval Service Career behind me. For years I utilized a Fluke 61, it was always there, always reliable, it took a beating, bouncing around in a tool bag, or a Pelican case. Not long ago I upgraded to the Fluke 62 Max, May I say that is an EXCELLENT product as well. In Gas Turbine World you live, rely on taccurate temperature readings or crash and burn! Oil Fuel and cooling mediums have to hit that sweet spot for maximum efficiency! The Fluke 62 Max is just like it's ancestor, ready accurate and reliable, EVERYTIME!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and very reliable!! I have been using the Fluke 62 Max+ for over 13 months now and love it. It is easy to use and very rugged. It has been dropped on a few occasions and yet performs without any issues. It has been checked for accuracy in a lab and is always the same even after the times it has been dropped. I have used other brands and the Fluke is definitely the best! I have many Fluke products and they always live up to their reputation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great on reading temperatue where you can't reach I'm a sheet metal job shop with powder coating system in house. I purchased a Fluke thermometer 62 MAX to get temperature readings inside my 100 foot oven where it can't be reached manually. Te readings on the 62 MAX are so precise that I have been able to control the temperature and distribute the air-flow evenly inside the cure oven to get a superior cure on my powder coated parts. My cure process has improved 30% by being able to adjust the air flow and heat distribution by using the Fluke 62 MAX thermometer. Taking daily temperature readings using 62 MAX thermometer has been added to our daily preventive maintenance schedule.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great way to find hot spots i will tell you using the 62 MAX+ is a great way to find hot spots in out aluminum melt furnaces a quick scan finds them before it becomes a danger. This allows us to put the time and energy to our best use. it also helps find restrictions and build up in out piping due to temperature changes. and it is a lot more economical to use great for finding failing or overloaded motors

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How Does This Work? The manual is one of the worst I have ever seen. Come on guys, put something out there that explains how to use it. It can't cost you that much. Even if you don't want to print it with the product, put something on line!! GEEZ! Rating would be higher but this has a lot of features that I don't know how to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Unit, Very Reliable My biggest issue with this type of equipment has been long-term reliability. This Fluke 62 Max has proven itself to be very reliable under our usual terrible conditions that we subject it to. I highly recommend this unit to facilities maintenance professionals.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horrible manual Umm, just got the Fluke 62 Max and the manual is useless. Just icons and pictures like I'm supposed to know what they mean. I've never seen one of these before. Gives a reading when I point it at stuff, so I guess it's doing what is supposed to do???? Came here looking for help and just find marketing videos. What do the different settings do? How close do I have to be to something to be accurate? The tool itself seems very robust, well built, and durable like you would expect from Fluke. But how do I use it properly??

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it! Just got a new 62 Max...works just fine for me. Agreed, the manual is a bit sketchy without verbiage, but not a big deal for me. I'm happy with it, so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great IR Thermometer I currently am in college studying electronics. This is really helpful when it comes to finding parts in electronic circuits that overheat. This is not really friendly towards small smd components, but works great towards big chips. This works great for checking the temperature of the hotbed of a 3D printer, and even the extruder. This tool is a great help, even though not specified for my field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not impressed I had the chance to take a look at a 62 Max and came away with mixed feelings. I appreciate the ruggedness it provides over say the 62 mini. I've treated my 62 Mini very carefully, and it's help up well, but it's only a short drop away from likely breaking. Not so worried with the 62 Max. However the LASER seems VERY dim on my unit. Perhaps this is a matter of the battery (AA on 62 Max, 9V on Mini. However when getting temp readings on a bearing that's 12' in the air, the LASER sighting is absolutely critical. Even in a factory environment, I find this laser hard to see. I would have gladly sacrificed convenience of AA for brighter LASER. Lastly I really dislike the direction Fluke has gone with their displays - this and the 714B have the display set back noticeably distant from the front protective lense, which means it has terrible viewing angle. Why haven't gear manufactures gone to some of the new engineered, shatterproof glasses?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bad manual just got my fluke 62 max (not the max plus) today. unit seems ok but the owners manual is nothing but pictures. would have liked a little verbiage to explain operation of the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cost Efficient My wireless floating pool thermometer stopped working and I could not find a compatible substitute for my weather monitoring system. I purchased the Fluke 62 Max, which was near the price of wireless pool thermometers, but with greater flexibility. With this device, I can measure temperatures within a number of environments other than the surface of the water in the pool and in the spa. The Fluke thermometer is accurate as it was tested against the spa thermometer when the spa was heated to a useful temperature. A great substitute for temperature readings in a variety of settings when contact thermometers just aren't available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not last For the price and being FLUKE I expected it to work for more than 3 years. Only ever used it lightly around home, didn't even take it to the shop. Just stopped working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged and Reliable I do not have time to prove the accuracy and reliability of my data collected in an experiment. I chose fluke manly because of Fluke's reputation. keep up the good work and please don't compromise in reliability (your reputation).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible (And I am being VERY polite) I just received 62 Max. Backlight doesn't work, laser is not visible, cannot change from "C" to "F". This is the worst Fluke product ever. Documentation is all but worthless!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate Thermometer I bought this back in the summer for multiple uses around the house. I verified the temperature accuracy with a couple other analog thermometers. I use it to check smoke box temperature when smoking meat, HVAC at home and for working on my project car. I had previously bought a cheap IR thermometer thinking that it would suffice for home use and the LCD screen started losing characters within weeks of purchase. I'm very happy with my Fluke thermometer and should have just purchased it to begin with. Like others have said, I think there is room for improvement (and text on the manual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great BBQ instrument Received as part of a Fluke tool combo, didn’t give it much thought as I have a thermal imager that is until I started using a smoker again. My new favorite BBQ instrument. Works great with my Ooni Fyra pizza oven.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful IR Thermometer I'm an industrial and commercial electrician. The laser spot identification on this meter makes it easier to use accurately, and therefore more useful. I must confess, though: I would probably use it more if I didn't have a thermal imager, or if I had a high end thermal imager. As it is, the unit performs well, is rugged, and I've found it to be very accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Product The 62 MAX+ is a very accurate and durable instrument that feels solid in the hand. The description says that it can survive a 10 meter drop, and I truly believe it.The battery cover is very strong and secured with a heavy duty screw. I did a lot of research and read many reviews about Infrared Laser Thermometers before I finally decided on the Fluke 62 MAX +. Shipping was free and super fast. Only took 2 days.Made in USA by a well established company, I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Manual Terrible - Out of Calibration It has an IKEA type international manual with symbols and no written text. In about 10 languages which is not useful. Literally no instruction on how to use the unit. The face has symbols, settings, the manual literally does not even explain the symbols. And it's off by about 4% or 5% not 1.5%. Not impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from recommend yes but be aware.. I know Fluke for over 35 years and this product is the first that I cannot blindly recommend due to a lacking quality control. First unit, showed a constant increase of 20 degree C, the unit was given back and replaced by a second unit, laser ray beams slightly to the left.... I strongly recommend that in case you buy this thermometer, give it a thorough check.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect This little guy is almost perfect if you are looking for something outside an IR Thermography Camera. Here to me is a big design problem: 5 seconds after turn off the trigger, the display goes blank and your data is gone forever. This means you don't even have time to evaluated what you just measured, you can only use this tool actively while looking at it and then you’re done. Seems to me they could have designed it so that if you hit the up arrow the hold screen comes back on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more guessing the pizza stone temperature. For making pizza in a home oven the temperature of the pizza stone is critical to the quality of the crust. The Fluke 62 max+ lets me know the actual temperature of the stone independent of the oven temperature and know when it is cool enough to safely handle the stone after cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product! I purchased the Fluke 62 Max Plus a few months back. So far, I have used it to measure the cylinder head temperature on one of my Harleys in order to diagnose a problem. In addition, my neighbor was hearing an intermittent sound from her brakes but we couldn't pinpoint which wheel it was coming from. I used the Fluke 62 Max Plus to measure the heat at each wheel in order to narrow it down without having to remove the wheels. Finally, I used the Fluke 62 Max Plus to measure the before and after air temperature coming from the A/C ducts in my truck after the A/C had been recharged. This is an excellent tool and I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Tool! I am a sport shooter. Casting lead pistol bullets is a skill that requires precise control of the temperature of both the melted alloy and the bullet mold. My Fluke 62 is the absolute best tool for doing this. I have improved the quality of my bullets with the instantaneous temperature response of my Fluke and I don't need to insert a dial thermometer into the melt anymore. Plus I know how hot my mold is before I pour the lead. Result...no more wrinkled or frosted bullets! Thanks Fluke!!!
