Rated 5 out of 5 by from Freedom from ink cartridges!?My interest in this all-in-one device is mainly due to its unusual (if not novel) printer ink delivery system. Replacing cartridges is the bane of every inkjet printer user because of cost; but what I hate most is having to run to get a cartridge just as I need to print something very important. This printer offers the promise of vast numbers of pages printed before needing to replace the ink.In the box: printer, power cable, set up software optical disk, QuickStart instructions, and initial ink supply. Not included is a USB printer cable, so if Wi-Fi set up doesn’t work for you at first, or you don't have a WiFi network available, you’re going to have to provide your own cable for setup (and printing). The printer itself is made of standard consumer grade plastic. It is not particularly heavy but seems sturdy enough. Fit and finish are in-line with entry level consumer grade electronics. There were no rough edges, squeaky hinges, ill fitting covers, or rattling mysteries. Everything that needed to snap into place did so without having to be forced, and did not come loose afterwards. After several weeks of use I have seen no scuffs or discoloration of the unit. There is no Touch screen interface, and there is no LCD screen. Clearly-labeled and easily-depressed buttons are front and center. There is no card reader for file printing, but remote printing is easily accomplished (see below), which softens the blow.Set up was delightful, unexpectedly--simple, quick, painless. My biggest fear was making an enormous mess putting the ink into the printer. However, I was able to transfer all four bottles of black and colored ink in the printer without a single drop spilled. At first I had some apprehension that I would put the wrong color in a reservoir, but I note that each bottle's nozzle is matched to its accompanying reservoir by shape, and each color's shape is different. Ink supplied with the printer filled each of the CMYK reservoirs completely--no chintzy supplied ink here!!Driver set up was painless. I was able to set up by using software downloaded from Epson's website on both a PC and Mac (link included with printer--optical media copy included as backup). Connecting the printer to the WiFi network only needed to be done once, with WiFi Direct, and "handshake“ occurred without a problem the first time I tried.Print quality is quite good. Even using standard multipurpose paper, colors are rich, blacks are inky, and I I note no bleeding. There has been no difficulty in the ink feed system, something I also worried about. Distribution of the ink has been uniform without any faded spots or dropouts. Sharpness will never match laser printing, but it is quite acceptable and output held at reading distance is comfortable to read. Speed of the printer is as rated, both for image – heavy and text-only pages. Paper feed never once jammed through printing several hundred pages thus far. The paper feed holds disappointing 100 pages at once and standard thickness letter paper, so those to print throughout the day or routinely have large print jobs may want to think twice about purchasing this printer. I have not tried stock of the regular size or thickness so cannot comment on that. Printing is single-sided only.Controlling the printer via computer or iOS app is simple. If a connection has to be made between the printer and the remote device, it has thus far been seamless, as I have noted no delay in printing after sending a command. With Internet connectivity, printing remotely has easily accomplished. The printer works acceptably as a an occasional scanner. The scanning service will hold large flat originals, and easily, accommodated an open book. There is no document feeder, so those who need to scan large batches of papers should look elsewhere. Scanning is single-sided, of course. In short, this all-in-one device is a very competent printer with robust network connectivity, with perfectly acceptable scanning. Is it a good value? Similarly-equipped models with ink cartridges rather than reservoirs cost 50% less, but the price of replacement cartridges eat that up over time. If it prints as many pages as advertised using its initial ink supply, then I will be able to say yes, resoundingly. This is a review for the Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Printer!I got this printer for use in my home. I don't print a lot, but when the need arises it needs to be of high quality and color. From the start the printer was easy to set up and extremely easy-to-use. The instructions were more than adequate and the wifi printing is super-easy. The quality and speed of the printed pages is amazing! My only con to this printer is that it seems a bit loud when feeding paper, otherwise it's 5-stars!I HIGHLY recommend this printer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the EcoTank! This printer is compact, sleek and very easy to setup and use. Filling the ink is quite easy. Included in the box are four heavy duty plastic bottles filled with each of the standard ink colors. Instead of cartridge slots like other printers you have probably used, this has “tanks” or individual reservoirs for each color. To fill, you unscrew the cap for the color, turn it upside down, and fit it into the slot above its color and push down. The ink will then start filling the tank. These bottles are made very well, I was worried about residual ink leaking out or spraying when I pulled the bottles off however none of that happened. It’s an instant seal once you remove them. To setup the wireless functions you have two options, you can either connect to its direct wifi network, or you can add the printer to your wifi network. To add it to your wifi network you need to either have a router with a WPS button, or a USB printer cable. Luckily I had a USB cable from a previous Epson so I was up and connected to my wireless network in minutes. The print quality is SUPERB. The colors are vibrant and look great. It also prints very quickly. The scanner is fine, I don’t scan things very often but for the purpose of this review I obviously scanned a few things to see how it worked. It seemed fine to me, I didn’t notice anything that made the quality of the scans stand out, nor did I think they were subpar – they looked how I would expect them to look. Overall, I am very happy with this printer. It would be great for college students who need to print frequently. Installation was quick and painless. The size is fine and the instructions are clear. If you have more difficulties, the manual is online. This is a review for the Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not quite what I expectedpurchased several weeks ago, print quality great, ease of operation and set up not bad at all. printing speed adequate. The thing I'm disappointed in, one reason I purchased this one is that I believed it to be one that would could be set to print on both sides of the paper, it will not do this. They say there is a setting, nope, it gives me a choice between Manual and Manual, so still have to flip the pages over yourself and reinsert them into the printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality prints and economical to useEasy to setup. Important to follow the simple instructions. Let ink charging complete before trying to connect to the network. Love the ink filling tanks concept.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for keeping ink costs lowThis printer is great for those that hate to spend hundreds of dollar on ink per year. Set up is very easy and the ink tanks are a breeze to fill with the auto fill bottles. The pages print fast and are very clear. The paper is easy to load into the back of the printer and I have not had any problems with paper getting stuck. I wish that the printer held more paper though. The only thing that really I am not a fan of is that the printer does not have auto double sided printing. If duplex printing is important to you, I would recommend a different model. However, if it is not a deal breaker everything else about this printer is awesome. The lack of ink cartridges is an innovative feature that makes this printer a real standout. This is a review for the Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Printer, Awesome Ink SupplyInitial impression after taking this printer out of the box: a solid, small form factor, no-frills printer/scanner/copier whose main selling point is long term, cartridge-free printing. This is the first time I’ve tried a cartridge-free printer. I have to say I have always been frustrated with inkjet printers due to the cost of replacement cartridges and the frequency with which they have to be replaced. So the idea of only having to add ink once every couple of years is definitely welcome. Epson claims the Ecotanks store enough ink for approximately 2 years of printing (6500 pages black, 5200 pages color). Only time will tell if this is the case. As of 10/28/17, the cost to refill all four Ecotank reservoirs is $62 (current price @ Bestbuy.com) but considering that gets you almost 2 years of printing, it’s not too bad.Setup of the printer was fairly simple and straightforward. I would expect wireless setup to be easier in this day and time, but the installation of the supporting software is necessary to continue setup whether you chose to use a USB cable (not included) or wireless setup. The overall software installation has a fairly large footprint – drivers, software updater, event manager, scanner utility, users’ guide and setup of e-print/cloud-based services. I’m not a huge fan of a lot of software being installed to support a device, but so far it has not adversely impacted my Windows 10 laptop.Once the software is installed and the printer has been connected and configured, things move along fairly easily. The initial fill of the EcoTank reservoirs is a bit of a time-consuming process as is the initial priming of the printer. You’ll probably need to set aside about 30-45 minutes total to set up the printer including software install, configuration, ink fill, and printer priming. So far I’m impressed with the quality of the print. Advertised print resolution is up to 5760x1440. The printer can handle multiple paper types including copy paper, photo paper, and envelopes. Paper feed is in the rear of the printer and the feeder tray will hold about 75 sheets of standard copy paper. Print speed is quick for black and white and decent for color. The printer has the option to scan directly from the device using a button but unfortunately, this option only works if the printer is connected to your computer via USB cable. If you want to scan documents in a wireless configuration, you must use the accompanying “Epson Scan 2” software to initiate a scan. The scanner produces decent scans at 200dpi (default). Be prepared to wait a while if you want to scan at 1200 dpi – the maximum resolution available. There is also a partner application (Epson iPrint) available for iOS/Android that allows you to scan and then save, email, or print the resulting scan. All in all, this is a decent printer. It performs its basic, core functions – printing, scanning & copying – very well. It seems to me, however, that the greatest feature of this printer is the Ecotank, which eliminates the worry, fuss, and cost of replacement ink cartridges. This is a review for the Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An ideal printer for busy household.Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer is a ideal for busy household and people who printer a lot. The printer has easy to fill super-size ink tanks, Epson claims the ink would last at least 2 years equivalent to 20 ink cartridges. Unbeatable combination of value and convenience. Have been using this printer for past two weeks, haven't had any issue. It took only 10 -15 minutes to setup the printer I would really recommend this printer to othersPros: Easy to setup Fast printing, Great performance, Less noise Print wifi from Laptop, tablet, mobile devices, Supports google print. Compact design, Low-cost replacement inks Easy to refill inks Excellent print quality Supports Power Saving - Power Off Timer and auto sleep timer Cons: Doesn't have auto-feeder for scannerThe input tray can hold only 100 sheets. Doesn't support 5Ghz wireless No WoWLAN [Wake on Wireless LAN] support Doesn't have Scan to a Flash Drive or Memory Card option Overall - a great printer This is a review for the Epson Expression ET-2700 EcoTank All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.
