Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Meh Monitor... Nice width but doesn't curve towards the user enough. Makes seeing objects at the edge difficult to see I. I eventually just stopped trying to use the end of the display. Also, not tall enough. Coming from a 38" dell u3818dw I found I really missed those vertical inches. Other than these two issues, it's a pretty okay monitor. Although, I chose to return mine I think anyone dealing with a 27", or smaller, monitor bwould be fairly pleased with this. I, however, was not.

I am certainly more productive and have greater visibility into my work with all of the screen real estate. I will say that sitting in front of my computer for hours on end isn't the same anymore with this monitor. I'm getting massive headaches. I don't think my eyes are used to seeing this much screen at once. Hoping I get used to it. Other than that, this thing is AMAZING.

My husband has 4 monitors in home office, but when he looks at my office...he is super jealous of my work area because of this monitor. I have my setup to where my laptop thinks I have 2 monitors. I do this so when I screen share at work, my screen doesn't appear too small for others with a smaller monitor. I like that when I switch to my other laptop, my keyboard and mouse switches too. If I have 2 laptops side by side...usb switching is easy as well. The display manager application is easy to use. I wish I had a way to install it on my work computer, but I don't have admin rights. It's not a deal breaker though. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Somehow, the audio connection that is on the 38” version was deleted from the 49” so you really do not have full KVM function without mic and audio out. Resolved it with a USB adaptor but why?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t buy this if you are looking for a great KVM The KVM switch built into this is a disaster. It has so much digital noise on it that it almost useless. The digital noise means the keyboard will stop working, it means you can’t connect usb speakers to it to switch between PC’s because the hum is deafening. It is beautiful and it is large but if you are looking for switching capability look somewhere else. I worked with Obtiplex support because I thought the issue was my PC. But they determined that it was with the monitor and sadly was unwilling to move the case to the group that supports the monitor. So it still does not work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Monitor but Mac Users Beware. This is a beautiful monitor. Gorgeous resolution. The downside is if you have a MacBook Pro from 2016, you must connect via HDMI and that limits the functionality a bit. I’ve tried other connections and adapters but they don’t work. I’ll likely have to upgrade my Mac to the newest model. Also I’d like to see more ‘curve’ in the overall design. As it stands the monitor is very long and bit too flat without a more severe curve.

I honestly hoped it would be more curved so that it would be easier to see without moving my whole body but it's fine at the end of the day. A little more body movement is a good thing right? I love that the usb c connection has 90w power delivery. I have nothing more than the included usb c cable connected to my laptop. It's a beautiful thing. Hopefully manufacturers can figure out how to make longer cables that still maintain the power/video specs. One annoying thing is that in power save mode, the screen keeps turning on to tell me that there's no signal. Duh, of course there isn't a signal, I didn't turn on my laptop. Why are you turning on, brightening up my room at night, to tell me this? Just stay asleep until the signal returns like every other monitor does.

Starting from shipping delay waiting for nearly 2 months since the order date and 1 month from ship date or getting answers from customer service, trying to signup for the rewards. List goes on..

The KVM functionality of this monitor is one of the key reasons to buy it. But the manual and support is not there. I think I have it working @ 80%, but no way to connect with Dell fir help

It would be much nicer if a laptop connected through the USB-c interface could be accessed as a picture-in-picture instead of using either the entire screen or half the screen. The KVM functionality is great if you're switching the whole screen between the desktop and laptop computers - the keyboard and mouse switch too. The split screen didn't work well for me. Again, a P-i-P where the keyboard and mouse worked for both computers over the entire screen and the laptop was just treated as another size adjustable window would be ideal. That would allow me to look at documents on the desktop while doing email on the laptop. I replaced two 27 inch monitors and ended up with the equivalent space of three 27 inch monitors because the default resolution is a little higher - so the desktop icons are smaller. It's amazing for working with huge spreadsheets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor, but wish it had a bit more curve. Great monitor, the display manager makes it very easy. Love the ability to snap windows to any layout that you want, and can even custom layout your windows (Hold shift to move a window without snapping). The size is perfect for a medium sized desk. If I could improve on it at all, I would like for it to be more curved... It is a bit awkward to view the sides of the screen without a little better angle to your vision. Besides that, I'm very impressed and would recommend it to anyone who needs good screen real estate!

I have 3 - 22" monitors at work and this replaces them. I only wish it had more curve. Its like looking at the monitor sideways on the outsides. But I have what ever I am mainly working on in the front middle anyway. Very nice picture quality and resolution. The screen dock utility works great too.

Also delivery was pushed back 2 weeks which was disappointing. The monitor is AWESOME though. I still don’t know how to get the USB ports to work which is why I needed technical support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality I've been using the venerable Samsung CHG90 for a few years. I upgraded to this monitor due to both primarily for the extra resolution. Arrived in perfect working condition (though rather slowly, as it took over a week to ship). Assembly and configuration are simple and straightforward. The screen looks great and as a developer, I appreciate the additional vertical space afforded by the 1440 resolution. It probably goes without saying, but once you've experienced ultra-wide, you'll never want to go back.

We love dividing the monitor with a single window in the middle with half windows on each side. Its also great with live streaming. We can have gameplay on 2\3 of the screen and stats and chats on the other 3rd. This monitor is worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great WFH monitor and serviceable for gaming The IPS panel and built in USB hub are what sold me on this monitor vs the other 49” ultra wides in the market. I’m able to use my mouse and keyboard for my laptop during the day for work and then switch to my home PC at night. Definitely usable for gaming but would not recommend if you are looking to be competitive with high refresh rates (although the 49” form factor is not ideal for competitive gaming to start with.

The box it came in was elegantly designed to ensure the (very easy) assembly was done properly and all the pieces (which are very few) where protected and easy to access. I'm impressed with the delivery process and the packaging team - well done! And the screen is amazing.

Monitor does not work with Microsoft Surface Pro w i7 64bit processor w 16 GB of Ram. The monitor sucks up all the computer resources and renders the machine useless. Also if you need to use Teams or screen share, the monitor is not useable because you can only share one window at a time. It is too time consuming to share, stop sharing, and share again. Unfortunately, in my excitement to get the monitor and rid my house of the hug box, I threw away the box before I realized how bad the monitor was for me. My bad and now I am stuck with a 49" I cannot use. Proof that hast makes waste.

I had to download something in order to do this and then it puts an icon in your tray where you can easily change the number of screen dividers you want.

Given I'm working from home too, this works as 2 27" monitors... if I want to, I can also divide the screen in 3 or adjust what is on the sides vs what is in the middle of the screen, the USB-C connection is amazing and the fact that it also works as docking station makes it easy to connect just 1 cable from my Laptop (Macbook Pro 2018) through USB-C and connect anything else needed to the monitor.

Perfect size for those who actively working with a few RDPs, VMs, documents , manual etc. I’m not that picky for the quality of colours, refresh rates etc, it is really good quality product as many other things from Dell, clear pictures, fonts. It gives me what I need! Did not have a time yet to play with KVM, but again it is not that important for me.

Between the Dell display manager software and ddccontrol on platforms like Linux, this vastly simplifies processes that used to require a bunch of cables, painful onscreen menus, or even multiple keyboards/mice. The gentle curve of the monitor makes it very easy to make the use of its 5120x1440 size as well.

Highly recommend this to anyone working from home who needs one large display to be really productive. Even charges your MacBook Pro, along with two other USB Accessories right from the display... ohh yeah, you can use multiple desktops with this, so it's like unlimited monitors. For Developers it's a MUST. All of your Xcode simulators (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch all on on screen along with Xcode, the online documentation and then your Instrumentation Console. Possibly the best productivity gain you will ever have!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic monitor that needs a bit more curve. The Dell UltraSharp 49inch Monitor is a behemoth and a sight to behold. The image is sharp, the colors are accurate, and the monitor has some great features that add versatility and utility to your desk. (For sake of transparency, Dell provided me with this monitor as part of their seed program to test and review for my company.) Let's dive in! The Packaging: When I received the U4919DW, I was surprised at how large the box was. It was nearly as tall as I am! When I opened it, I found a well thought out design. The box was segmented into several zones, each having a number embossed in it. This made unpacking extremely easy, and with a big slab of a monitor to handle, very appreciated. As you unpacked it, you built the monitor stand first, then removed the cables, and finally mounted the monitor. Super easy! The Ports: The U4919DW monitor has a lot of useful port options: two HDMI 2.0 ports, two upstream and five downstream USB ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB Type-C port. The USB Type-C port can charge and power devices (up to 90W) while also transferring data. Now for the sweet surprise – the U4919DW’s USB is also a KVM switch! I was able to hook up two computers simultaneously and switch back and forth between the two using only one set of keyboard and mouse. Additionally, you can split the huge screen in half and dedicate each to the two computers attached. Dell calls this,” Picture-By-Picture.” That’s pretty nifty! The downside to all these handy ports is that they are located on the back underside of the monitor. I found accessing them to be difficult, requiring me to bend around the monitor unnaturally to get to them. The Screen: Ok, so I’ve said this thing is big, but it’s 48 inches wide. It’s the equivalent of two 27 inch monitors side-by-side…That’s the same width as my desk. I don’t have any fancy color testing devices but my overall impression is that the image is nice, uniformly lit, and not overly saturated. This produces a pleasing image to look at for long durations. The monitor also provides menu-based color adjustments that are easy to understand and get around. I did reduce the brightness from the default 75% down to 19%. The resolution is 5,120 X 1400. Sadly, this screen does not provide HDR. One note regarding using a Microsoft Surface Dock: I found that when you attach this monitor to the Microsoft Surface Dock, it is only able to produce a 3840 X 1080 resolution, due to the hardware limitations. This was surprising and disappointing; however, the image still looked great and was highly usable. Software: Dell provides a great piece of software called, Dell Display Manager, which allows you to create snapping zones with the monitor. This helped organize the windows on the screen and most people found this to be useful. This software is also where you find resolution settings, and the ability to do picture modes, such as the Picture-By-Picture, and turn on/off the KVM function. Using the U4919DW: Using this monitor produces a love/hate reaction in most people we tried it out on. They love the screen size and its ability to show lots of windows all at once. They love the presence this monitor creates and they feel like it is easier to do tasks that require side-by-side comparisons or to view a lot of data…then, after using it they start to complain that the left and right sides are too far away. Software menus become too far away. They find themselves leaning too often to view what’s at the far ends of the monitor and thus complain that their neck or back hurts. Plainly put – this monitor requires more curvature! Price: The price for this supreme piece of kit is $1,349.99 - $1,699.99, depending on where you buy it from. That’s crazy expensive considering you could just buy two 27 inch monitors with thin bezels and save hundreds of dollars! Two separate monitors would also allow you to adjust their viewing angles for a more comfortable experience. Summary: Overall, the Dell U4919DW display is a really nice monitor for people who can’t live with an unbroken view and who can afford it. It lacks HDR, which is a travesty at this price range and it also doesn’t have enough curvature to make for comfortable long-term usage. It does have plenty of useful ports and features, as well as a screen that is a sight to behold.

I was using 2 x 27 inch of the same resolution, but there was so much wasted space as the line between them prevents me from fitting in the windows I needed. I have to work in multiple systems and have 5 - 6 windows open, constantly jumping between them. I need different size windows for different apps, and with the continuous space this monitor offers, I can make it all fit. Everything is clear and sharp and you don’t have to sit dead center to view the entire screen. This monitor was built with business in mind, versus the many gaming monitors out there. One Display port cable to my computer, and I can also connect my laptop via a single USB C/Thunderbolt cable that also supplies power.

Split screens on smaller displays is difficult to see and opening and closing screens slows my efficiency. The size of this monitor is beautifully unreal! It's like having a big screen TV as a computer monitor! I can have three or four full size screens open simultaneously. No more hard to see small screens, and no more opening and closing screens. This monitor is like having all of my work spread out on a huge desk and not having to open and close drawers to get my work done. Then, there is the movie watching experience. Great picture quality that fills the entire screen. I'm very pleased with this monitor and recommended it to my friends and co-workers.

Pros: - The Display Manager software works really well and shortcuts generally work. - The image quality is great and even in a bright room no noticeable glare. - The KVM feature is also very nice and allows me to switch between my PCs in full screen or side by side view so that I can easily multi-task. Switching USB input is as simple as a keyboard shortcut. Nice to have Improvements: - Sometimes the keyboard shortcuts are finicky and don't work right away. - Wish the screen had a bit more curve to it. It can be hard to see text on the far edges of the screens. - A keyboard shortcut to switch between full screen and side by side would be nice. I have not found a way to do this without opening up the display manager software or going through the menu on the monitor itself.

Be sure to note that this screen is meaningfully shorter than slightly smaller screens, meaning I felt like despite that added real estate there was less actual workspace. In addition, while the display is curved it is not nearly sufficient meaning you're looking at the left and right quarters of the screen at an obtuse angle. Was pumped to buy this, but ultimately returned it same day it arrived. Disappointing for my application - perhaps it will work for others using it differently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell UltraSharp 49". 4.5 Stars Got this display to go with a new Mac Mini M1. I'm moving from a Windows 7 pc with three 5/4 aspect displays to the Mac. I really liked having 3 displays to spread out multiple windows. I had my concerns because the M1 Mini only supports 2 display outputs. So while looking for display options I came across this display. It took a little digging on the internet to confirm it would work with the M1. Even after I ordered it I still was not 100% sure how well it would work with the M1. Well it works perfect. The M1 supports the full resolution of the display and it looks great. One single thunderbolt 4 cable and I have full video and USB connectivity on the display. The only down side using it with a Mac is that there is no Dell Display Manager support for the Mac. This wouldn't be a problem except I still need to use my Windows PC until I get everything migrated to the Mac. So It's a little cumbersum going from full screen Mac to split Mac/PC view. This is the reason for the 4.5 star review. The Display Manager software for the PC is very good. I have my Mac, PC, and sometimes my work PC connected to the display and can arrange any two of the three and their corresponding USB ports on the display very easily. As long a I'm doing it with a PC. The on screen menus do work and they are as easy to use as any on screen menus I've used. Just not as easy as the Display Manager software. Other than the missing Mac support, the display is awesome. Some people have complained that it could use more of a curve. This maybe true for a gaming display but this is not a gaming display. For a desktop productivity display I feel the amount of curve is perfect. The more I use this display the more I love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor if you love ultrawide! Very sharp, clear, amazing monitor. The wide-aspect ratio is incredible... it's right at the cusp of too wide, but I like it. It could use a slightly more aggressive curve as the edges are hard to keep in my field of view without turning my head. While it's not rated as a gaming monitor, it holds up well enough. The lack of FreeSync stile features was disappointing for the price tag, however, I've only had issues on a couple occasions on demanding games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider. There are great features. The PBP can be very useful for window management by having your multi-output PC plug in multiple times. Stacking four windows across is very comfortable. I wish that this aspect ratio was just ever so slightly taller. An inch or two taller would really bring this monitor to the next level.

I had to return mine because during computer reboot, the monitor would not recognize the display port signal. Monitor was replaced. Same issue. My computer uses an NVidia NVS 510 GPU which only supports DP 1.2 and while the monitor supports DP 1.2 and 1.4, there is an incompatibility somewhere. My graphics card otherwise was able to drive the monitor at full resolution. Very good technical support along the way but sadly, could not arrive at a workable solution.

Even more impressive once you get it lit. The only issue I had was that there was a small 3 inch band of light discoloration that appeared at the bottom of the monitor. It started after exploring the settings related to input, P/P and split screen. I was bummed out at first thinking this monitor was defective but, it cleared up after two day of leaving it on for a few hours each day. Its perfect now. The images are crisp and clean. Colors are vibrant. I took a little while for my eyes to adjust. Its ultimately awesome...

Panel connects and charges easily with USB-C , and built-in KVM is really elegant. Two gaps: A second DP1.4 port in addition to USB-C would have been awesome to fully take advantage of the ultrawide panel. These screens were shared between my work computer and personal computer. I had connected the the whole setup with a KVM switch so I could share some of the screens, keyboard, and mouse between the two computers. My setup was a mess. There were cords and wires everywhere! With this monitor, I was able to connect both computers to it, along with mouse and Keyboard. The monitor acts as a USB hub to both my computers. It's nice and clean. It was very easy to do wire maintenance because there were very few wires to deal with now... Especially because I paired the monitor with a wireless mouse and keyboard.

I went from (3) 32” and (1) 27” down to this single 49” and I have found that my neck and shoulders do not hurt after a long day working. Do not fall for the cool feature of connecting two computers to this single monitor (it neuters the effectiveness). I found that windows 10 desktops and multiple RDP sessions session was the way to go! If you want the ultimate monitor this is your next purchase!

This extra wide monitor allows her to have 80% of her required windows opened to full size at the same time. (we placed one more monitor vertically to the side for everything else) I'm sure it saves her about 1/2 hour of needles clicking and dragging per day. Was a great birthday present for her.

I thought that was a good setup until I got this Dell UltraSharp 49" Curved Monitor. This thing is the perfect work setup! I love that I can have multiple applications running simultaneously on my desktop. I know that most people think large monitors are for gaming, but this really is perfect for business applications. I paired it with an ergotron mounting arm that offers me more flexibilty with adjustments and frees up desk space below the monitor. I use a Dell XPS 8940 to run everything. Couldn't be happier with this purchase!

I typically use 2 or more laptops in my work and this display with two machines plugged in and keyboard/mouse sharing software from Synergy allows me to develop faster and more comfortably effectively "sharing" a 24 core/128GB machine. I'm very pleased with this Dell monitor!

In hindsight, I wish I would’ve purchased two 34 ultra wide curved instead of this 49. The weak curve makes the outside 2-3 inches on each end kind of pointless. Sadly, I kind of have buyers remorse with this model. Which saddens me, because I’ve really enjoyed all my previous Dell monitors. I just find that this one lacks a bit.

It took me a while to set-up my new monitor, as I had to get a new desk to put it on as I was worried about the old table I used for a desk breaking with the larger, heavier monitor! So, after a couple of weeks of anticipation (and the acquisition of the new desk!) I was finally able to set up the monitor and put it to use. It has been amazing so far. Crystal clear images, fast response, and the monitor management software has been easy to use once I got familiar with how it works. Running two split screen 27" monitors with no middle bezel is the effect, and it works awesome! I couldn't be happier with my purchase so far - it makes me smile a little every time I sit down in front of it! And, it has already triggered some great discussions with family and friends as they see it in my office when they walk by! Next stop: running an awesome game or two on it, which I haven't yet tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic monitor that needs a bit more curve. The Dell UltraSharp 49inch Monitor is a behemoth and a sight to behold. The image is sharp, the colors are accurate, and the monitor has some great features that add versatility and utility to your desk. (For sake of transparency, Dell provided me with this monitor as part of their seed program to test and review for my company. Let's dive in! The Packaging: When I received the U4919DW, I was surprised at how large the box was. It was nearly as tall as I am! When I opened it, I found a well thought out design. The box was segmented into several zones, each having a number embossed in it. This made unpacking extremely easy, and with a big slab of a monitor to handle, very appreciated. As you unpacked it, you built the monitor stand first, then removed the cables, and finally mounted the monitor. Super easy! The Ports: The U4919DW monitor has a lot of useful port options: two HDMI 2.0 ports, two upstream and five downstream USB ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB Type-C port. The USB Type-C port can charge and power devices (up to 90W) while also transferring data. Now for the sweet surprise – the U4919DW’s USB is also a KVM switch! I was able to hook up two computers simultaneously and switch back and forth between the two using only one set of keyboard and mouse. Additionally, you can split the huge screen in half and dedicate each to the two computers attached. Dell calls this,” Picture-By-Picture.” That’s pretty nifty! The downside to all these handy ports is that they are located on the back underside of the monitor. I found accessing them to be difficult, requiring me to bend around the monitor unnaturally to get to them. The Screen: Ok, so I’ve said this thing is big, but it’s 48 inches wide. It’s the equivalent of two 27 inch monitors side-by-side…That’s the same width as my desk. I don’t have any fancy color testing devices but my overall impression is that the image is nice, uniformly lit, and not overly saturated. This produces a pleasing image to look at for long durations. The monitor also provides menu-based color adjustments that are easy to understand and get around. I did reduce the brightness from the default 75% down to 19%. The resolution is 5,120 X 1400. Sadly, this screen does not provide HDR. One note regarding using a Microsoft Surface Dock: I found that when you attach this monitor to the Microsoft Surface Dock, it is only able to produce a 3840 X 1080 resolution, due to the hardware limitations. This was surprising and disappointing; however, the image still looked great and was highly usable. Software: Dell provides a great piece of software called, Dell Display Manager, which allows you to create snapping zones with the monitor. This helped organize the windows on the screen and most people found this to be useful. This software is also where you find resolution settings, and the ability to do picture modes, such as the Picture-By-Picture, and turn on/off the KVM function. Using the U4919DW: Using this monitor produces a love/hate reaction in most people we tried it out on. They love the screen size and its ability to show lots of windows all at once. They love the presence this monitor creates and they feel like it is easier to do tasks that require side-by-side comparisons or to view a lot of data…then, after using it they start to complain that the left and right sides are too far away. Software menus become too far away. They find themselves leaning too often to view what’s at the far ends of the monitor and thus complain that their neck or back hurts. Plainly put – this monitor requires more curvature! Price: The price for this supreme piece of kit is $1,349.99 - $1,699.99, depending on where you buy it from. That’s crazy expensive considering you could just buy two 27 inch monitors with thin bezels and save hundreds of dollars! Two separate monitors would also allow you to adjust their viewing angles for a more comfortable experience. Summary: Overall, the Dell U4919DW display is a really nice monitor for people who can’t live with an unbroken view and who can afford it. It lacks HDR, which is a travesty at this price range and it also doesn’t have enough curvature to make for comfortable long-term usage. It does have plenty of useful ports and features, as well as a screen that is a sight to behold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The DELL U4919DW is a monitor of unmatched quality and standards. The monitor has exceeded all my expectations. There is a crystal-clear picture with consistent color from corner to corner. The colossal screen allows me to work with numerous windows and large format documents comfortably. I find it wonderfully refreshing to work with PowerShell in a large window or visually scan server log files using this monitor. I can also make RDC windows large, so I no longer have the need to endlessly scroll up/down or left/right when navigating the remote machines desktop. There is no sacrifice of entertainment value for productivity. Streaming and gaming are handled flawlessly with no screen artifacts or visual tearing. Using the display-port connection I am getting a native resolution of 5120x1440. After spending 8-12 hours a day working, my eyes do not feel strained or tired. The large format of the monitor and the ability to have numerous windows spread left to right in a natural reading pattern means I do not have to squint as I would with a smaller monitor. Whether I am working, streaming, or gaming, the U4919DW provides a consistent high-quality picture that simply unmatched. This single monitor replaced three smaller monitors I had on my desk saving on energy use and long-term cost. I do not have a single dislike or complaint about this monitor. The DELL U4919DW is simple the best monitor I have ever used hands down.

Will not wake as advertised, displays well for awhile and then goes dark for a few seconds and comes back. At other times 1/2 of screen goes black and the other half goes noise gray. This occurs several times in an hour. Unable to turn off the monitor while while computer running and turning monitor back on the monitor will not wake no matter what I try to wake it.

The monitor is not curved enough. I'm finding myself adding bogus apps on the left of the monitor to avoid neck pain. Also, I tried to return it and they said someone would call me to arrange pick up. It's been 3 weeks, still waiting for that call.

The only issue is that the radius is a little too large. At 3800mm, you can constantly stretching your neck to see the corners. I would have preferred around 2000-1500mm.

The curvature of the monitor, to me is at an appropriate angle where it doesn’t feel like you’re having a turn your head so much to view from one side to the other. I had no problems installing the additional display software which provides all sorts of configurations for this monitor. I went from having a two monitor set up to this 49” monitor which allowed me to break the screen into 3 equal sections. I didn’t run into any issues with applications remembering which screen they were on as I switched between my work at home set up. This monitor provides plenty ports from HDMI, Display and so many USBs. I do wish the next design includes more than one USB-C. Overall this monitor exceeds expectations. The color palette is on point! No complaints on the resolutions.

If you want to dynamically switch between full screen and half screen on a Windows machine you need to drive the monitor off USB C, and it will then auto resize from 5120x1440 to 2560x1440p. If you use a non-USB C input when you go to PBP, you'll get a scaled version of your screen instead of resizing. I use this all the time to flip from full screen to split screen to bring another machine (or gaming console) into my workspace. Dell Display Manager has a command line interface so you create batch files to switch between modes instead of fiddling with the controls or opening DDM. My only complaint was that Dell vastly underestimated the shipping time. I was quoted an Aug 31 delivery date with expedited delivery. It shipped on that day but did not arrive until 9/15 because of the shipping method they use for packages of this size. The Dell website consistently underestimated the actual arrival time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent monitor - for the right purposes The U4919DW is an amazing monitor. It's very, very (very!) wide. The picture quality is outstanding; I saw no defects, no stuck pixels, no moire/shimmer from anti-glare coating. The lighting is uniform and bright. For the right purpose, this is a truly excellent monitor. However: I returned mine within a day (and Dell was very good about quickly issuing a refund). I was furnishing a new office and thought I could use this instead of my previous U3440+2XU2518 (so three monitors total), but it didn't work. Why not? This monitor is so wide that to sit in front of it and use it as a productivity monitor for spreadsheets, code, and so on didn't work for me. I was not able to just twist my head a little or even use peripheral vision, because the monitor's curvature isn't quite sufficient for that - for me (YMMV). I found myself having to lean over left or right to see text on the left or right sides, whereas with my previous setup of three separate monitors, I am able to angle the two outside monitors in more so that glance/peripheral vision works perfectly. This is nothing at all against the U4919, which is splendid; it didn't work for me, for my purpose. If I had to deck out a conference room or ops center display, or have an analysis display anywhere which people would look at from a greater distance than sitting in front of it and typing, I'd make this monitor my first choice. The cables and accessories are excellent. Good thick cables, a very heavy stand, and very solid, well thought-out packaging that was easy to put back together. Good for Dell for a very well-designed all-round package and for making a monitor as extreme as this, and I will continue to be a Dell monitor customer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Work Life Just Got a Lot Better Like many workers today, I spend 50 hours a week in front of a monitor, and half of that time is on meetings. This monitor quickly improved my daily experience as a tool designed for people who work like me. Very easy to unpack, set-up, and get started (I watched a youtube video before unpacking). The Dell Display Manager app took a minute to load and get started. The monitor has given me the ability to seamlessly move between apps and projects with minimal disruption. The display quality is excellent -- especially for video. Its easy to change the snap-to grid, resize, and move apps to where I need them on the screen. Compared to single or double displays, this is a far better experience.

The huge problem for me is that whatever program you assign to a screen region, it expands to fill that region. The only way I can control the size of a window/program is to turn off the Dell Display Manager. I found this to be a major set-back. Color was easily adjusted using the SpyderX Studio Datacolor system. The monitor is very sharp. The curve of the monitor is too shallow for me. As expected, the screen is heavy and difficult for me to move.

Using this instead of 2 monitors and my laptop screen has greatly increased multitasking abilities while also allowing for a less cluttered desk. Only possible complaint I could think of is that I wish the bezel was thinner, but considering it's a model from 2019 and the bezel doesn't affect the flow, that isn't really a big deal. The ability to split the monitor into essentially 2 different screens is also a surprisingly useful feature, especially if you have something preventing you from using the full resolution/aspect ratio.

I would love to see this with a thinner bezel like some of Dell's high end monitors but otherwise its a great choice. It is definitely a conversation piece on the desk!

Effort was to see if I could remove the bezels and create a cleaner workspace. Overall the monitor is acceptable. Thought wide and no bezel is nice I think if the monitor mimicked side by side 4K over HD it would be better

The image quality for a monitor of this size is great and really appreciate all the different input ports included. Setup was extremely easy as it fit right onto my existing desk mount. The only reason I am giving this product 4 stars instead of 5, is because it does not have integrated speakers/audio output - which is something I would have expected for a monitor this advanced (not to mention the price). As it stands right now, Dell does not offer a sound bar compatible with this model (meaning one that can be attached directly to it) so I plan to remedy that with a generic, higher quality, sound bar. Bottom line, as long as the lack of audio output is not a deal breaker, I highly recommend this monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 Monitors in 1 for the price of 4 There really is not much difference between running this compared to running just two Dell 27" monitors on your desk which is what I went from running. You pay a big premium to just have one monitor stand, one that does not swivel and really should for such a large monitor. The stand also needs to adjust to a higher height, looking straight ahead I am looking a good 4" above the monitor so am constantly looking down at this monitor if maintaining a proper seating position. The biggest issues I am having with this thing is finding the right settings on my MacBook Pro for the monitor always to work but this seems to be more a Mac issue because when plugged into my PC it is a none issue, perhaps some sort of drivers specific to a Mac are needed like how was needed for the PC. The USB ports would be nice if the monitor had a bigger power source to it because plug in too many things and get power errors from operating system, also be nice if the plugs were easier to find since not too easy to tip over a giant monitor to look under it to find the plugs and that goes for the various display plugs too. Overall unless you like spending more than you should or like me and had a few credits to use up then do not get this over just two monitors.

The picture is sharp, the screen real estate is fantastic and the built in kvm switch works great. My only complaint is that it would be nice to have an audio jack to share speakers across both devices. I solved this by purchasing a USB audio adapter and it works like a champ.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outrageously Big First, its outrageously large. You don't realize what you're in for until you have to unbox it, and it takes two people. Overall, its pretty good. Wish it had a little more curve to the display, as that would help with the inevitable fade toward the left and right sides. Bringing the monitor closer to you helps in this regard. It is nice being able to stack windows all over the place without any overlap. Only other thing I'd like to see changed would be more vertical resolution. My previous monitor was 1600 pixels vertical, which I miss, as this one is 1440. Still, with all the extra space, this new monitor works good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for business Received the monitor in great condition from the factory (strapped to a pallet to avoid damage during overseas shipping). Well packaged and installation instructions were pretty simple. I didn't end up using the factory stand, as I opted for a wall mount to regain valuable desk space. Set up was easy, and the available online manual helped out in that department. I've been using the monitor for about three weeks thus far and really love it. The resolution allows for crisp viewing of spreadsheets and such. Coming from multiple smaller monitors, I love the lack of overlapping bezels and ability to utilize the entire space - and there's a lot of real estate in this monitor. I highly recommend this unit for its intended purpose - business/productivity. It's not a gaming monitor and I'm not using it for that. 60Hz is just fine for my needs. I like the added protection of Dell's pixel policy, although that hasn't been an issue to date.

The negatives are that cannot be connected via a standard doc, but must be connected directly to the computer. No manual included. Color adjustment is clumsy. Cannot readily access a sticker with important information. Same for USB ports.

It takes some getting used to and can be cumbersome when you are trying to read something on the extreme end of either side. No big deal though. My only complaint is it does NOT have a camera, so I had to invest in a Logitech camera for video conferencing and such.

It covers an area of two wide screen monitors, but instead of a blank space in the middle, I can put a program there and look directly at the screen, with other programs off to one side or the other. I highly recommend.

I would however suggest a different shipping carrier, as ATI Worldwide was very slow and difficult at times to communicate with.

It's very easy to configure the panels, or windows, in whatever number and shape works best. Each panel can hold one document, or several documents of the same kind (pdf, Word, etc.). That means I have easy access to at least five, and sometimes up to 15 or more, so that when I'm working on a project I don't have to go hunting for each separate document I need, figure out where they're minimized, etc. And if I need to read a document on one of the side panels, it's easy to expand it over two panels until I'm done with it, at which time I can quickly "snap" it back into place. The Dell Display Manager is a great tool for customizing my configurations and is easily changeable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No video through the USB-C port I purchased this because it offered a single USB-C connection to the XPS-15 computer that I also purchased and because it would provide a plethora of additional USB ports for other devices (ports that are severely lacking in the XPS-15). To date, after working with Tech Support for two weeks, the monitor refuses to display any video when connected via the USB-C port. They have upgraded the response to have a technician come out to look at the problem, however, they tell me that he/she will not be here for at least a month.

Had my first monitor for over a year and decided to add a 2nd monitor. Works great with a Chief KTP230B vertical monitor stand and with an adjustable desk. I would recommend downloading QuickShade for Mac users on the App Store. It allows for quick display brightness adjustment. Having two of these displays stacked is really nice and helps with productivity. I also have a Dell Ultrasharp 32 4k USB-C that is used as an additional monitor that I currently have hooked up to an iPad. I'm happy with my Dell setup.

Prior to purchasing this I used 3 27 inch monitors so I was not sure why a 49 inch would be any different. I am so glad I went with this monitor. It is worth every penny. I work in finance and look at spreadsheets all day. This monitor is perfect to have three workbooks open side by side. Another negative review I saw was related to screen sharing and the other user not being able to see due to the resolution. This is true if you share your whole screen but if you share a single window you won’t run into this problem. I love this monitor and will never go back to anything smaller.

It is elegant yet rugged and has a wide range of display settings that allow it to be bright and clear in a well-lit room as well as subdued yet maintaining contrast when operating in a darkened space is necessary. The internal switch and monitor sharing is fantastic for running a work laptop and personal computer all on the same workspace with no external switches and a minimum of cables. Excellent monitor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect . . . but not quite I purchased this to replace my last curved screen, which I broke. A significant part of why I purchased this particular one was the built-in KVM, removing the KVM off my desk really reduces a lot of wiring and clutter. Pros: It is huge. At least in width. You can open an Excel document a mile wide. A couple of inches taller at this width would make a giant difference. But it does exactly what I wanted it to do. The quality/clarity/etc is really great. I don't play games, so can't comment on that. The connections are varied and straightforward. Obviously if you want to plug 4 computers into it, you'll need a variety of cables. Cons: The mount on the back is recessed a lot. If you have a plate that mounts to it and then snaps into an arm . . . you'll have to snap it in first and then carefully try to balance the monitor against the arm while you put the screws into the back. Not a huge issue, but a slight annoyance (that only happens once). The KVM doesn't really work perfectly. It is close. You can't use it with 4 computers (even though you can plug 4 in), as it only has 2 USB output ports plus the USB3 that can carry both the video and keyboard/mouse. It doesn't keep the ports alive when you switch, so it takes a few seconds for the computer to re-acquire the things plugged into USB . . . and it doesn't charge the USB3 port when you switch to another computer. To switch computers with the keyboard you have to be fully logged into the computer. You can use the button on the bottom of the screen, but it is tiny and not labeled from the front. Both are slightly time-consuming to do. Not a deal-breaker, but a small annoyance. The cables it comes with are great . . . and WAY too short. This is a huge monitor. It is either going to be used with a wide stand or with an arm. If you want to run any of the cables to a computer, the computer would pretty much have to be sitting under the monitor stand. I had to slide my laptop under the middle of it just to run the cable to it, and couldn't move the monitor at all (until I got a new cable). Running a cable to my desktop was out of the question unless I had pushed my monitor really close to me and put the desktop behind the monitor. It only comes with one of the hard-to-get USB out cables, which is also too short. To sum up, it has a few small annoyances that can be worked around. With a few tweaks this could be the perfect monitor . . . but as it is I'm very happy with it overall.

I don't have to jump back and forth between screens any longer. Everything is on one large page with no shifting documents, email, pictures, etc. around any longer. Alt+Tab is nearly useless. That's the easy stuff, here's the fun stuff: The picture is vivid and crystal clear. If I take a break and watch a video or if I'm training, the people in the video look like they are there with you. You can see the pores of their skin. Dell provides drivers so you can customize the colors, the views, darkness, brightness and contrast. On top of it being perfect technically, and space wise Dell also has special offers going on where if you finance it you can get it for 12 months 0% interest (depending on your credit). I've been in the IT field for 30 years, so I research products thoroughly before I make a decisions. This is the best monitor that I've ever had by far!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slow shipping, poor quality control. First, it took about three weeks between ordering and arrival, after I had to call the air freight company several times to get updates. Then, after reorganizing my space and setting up the monitor, I discovered a quarter-sized black spot in the bottom middle of the display that would not go away with firmware updates or resets. There was a sheet included with the monitor that seemed to be a factory color test/calibration result, but I guess it must be automated such that a big black spot gets missed. The bright side was that the return was picked up by FedEx the next day. I went to a local store and bought another brand of 49" curved monitor.

My preferred layout is 3 equal sized tiles which doesn't work with my old layout. The picture is crisp and was plug and play. The Dell Display Manager makes it easier to align. There is a bit of overlap but not anything worth docking a star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultra big but only 60Hz and 5K resolution I have two Dell P2415Q 24" 4K monitors in a dual monitor setup right next to my Dell U4919dw. By comparison, the Dell UltraSharp 49 Curved Monitor appears to have much more screen -- because it does. However, it only has less than half as many pixels. My dual P2415Q's at 4K 30Hz have and overall 2.25:1 pixel density when compared to the U4919dw at 5K 60Hz. For things like gaming, I'd look at a monitor with a higher refresh rate of 100Hz to 120Hz so this monitor isn't ideal in that space. For editing, which is what I do, most of the times the higher pixel density doesn't matter. If you look closely between the two different monitors, you can clearly see pixels on the U4919dw making up characters whereas you see clear text on the P2415Q. Both are readable but I prefer reading on the 4K display. I also do 3D editing using programs like Maya and Unreal. It's nice to have an unobstructed 32:9 panoramic view and the ability to arrange multiple programs and windows. The Dell Display Manager works well to easily create dockable areas. Speaker should have been included. I'm using an inexpensive Logitech Z305 speaker bar. The USB hub confused me when it came to adding a second computer. It didn't seem possible to run computer 2 if computer 1 was off. That's all great stuff but I'm using a high-end video card and the display port feature of the USB-C is disabled so I get a warning to upgrade my cable every single time. (It's never going to happen.) So, I ditched the USB-C stuff and hooked everything up to my computer the regular way. I left my other computer hooked to the dual monitors and everything works without any warning messages. I'm happy with the display but not thrilled. If I had it to do again, I'd wait for 32:9 8K displays.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bigger is truly better This is a simply brilliant productivity monitor. You can fit as much on a single screen as on two normal monitors. It auto-detects which computer is plugged in and handles KVM duties flawlessly. The only negatives are that long USB-C cables to support a single connection to the monitor don't exist (2m max) so it's hard to hide connected gear away and once or twice I've had to reboot my computer to get some of the USB ports on the monitor to recognise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go big win big. Millions of pixels = more productivity. I was going to get the 38 but then one of my peers suggested the 49. At first I thought it was overkill. But after more discussions I sprang for it. So now that I've had it over 3 weeks I am totally sold on it. I can keep a large number of full size windows open and have already noticed an improvement in my productivity. Look, it's huge and a first impression is that's excessively large. But after using it I just can't go back to anything smaller. If you use two monitors or have a lot windows, spreadsheets and Zoom calls going on at the same time, this monitor will save you. No monitor borders. BTW talk about expansive vistas gaming this is it. Also switches between two or three machines. Love it!

I love it for that stuff, absolutely...but the part I don't think I can get in any other monitor is the USB-C interface that charges my MacBook Pro while also giving me the KVM switching I need. The ports and utility aspect of this monitor match the value and high-end nature of Dell's already famous Ultrasharp display quality.

It's probably the most advanced and functional monitor I've ever used. I spend all day everyday on the computer and this screen has made my life a lot easier. The color, contract, sharpness, responsiveness, and styling are great. I'm using it with a Mac, so the Dell software doesn't work for me. But, using it as two monitors with the PBP feature and using Mac tools works really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winner This is a pretty amazing monitor. It essentially exceeded all of my expectations. I first went with the Samsung C49J890DKN, but returned it in favor of this Dell. I am very happy I did. Depending on my location, I use to either use a dual or triple monitor setup - with a combination on windows and Mac computers. This thing easily replaces either setup. I stuck with this over the Samsung because: 1. The FOOTPRINT! Every other 40" that I have seen including the Samsung had an enormous footprint that essentially took up my entire desktop work space. It looked horrible and was not functional. And with my desk setup, I can not do a wall mount and absolutely refuse to put any holes in a very expensive solid wood desk/ hutch. This is the primary reason this monitor won out. The engineering of the stand to support the significant weigh is SO MUCH BETTER than all the products out there. 2. USB-C 90W charging. Put simply, it works. On the Samsung it didn't - it connected but did not charge for my Dell Latitude 7200 2 in 1. This was a show stopper for the Samsung because a huge benefit for a USB-C monitor is being able to ditch the docking station to have a cleaner desk setup. 3. The resolution. Wow - I just wasn't ready for it. So much better than what I had been working with in the past. For my windows machines, it looks wonderful (I needed to adjust the text to 125% because everything was just too small. But windows makes this very easy.. For my Mac, its a pain because Mac OS doesn't have a great way to only adjust font size without dropping the resolution to 3840x1020. 4. The curve. Honestly, the curve of the Samsung was a bit obnoxious and made this enormous monitor stand out more - in a bad way. It almost looked comical on my desk and limited space usage on either side of the monitor. I find that the dell curvature is perfect - it is functional and looks good on my desk. My only two gripes: 1. I wish it had 2 usb-c connections. Like I said, I am using 3 computers and 2 usb-c connections would have been awesome - instead I have a hokey setup with the 3rd computer with and HDMI to USB-C cable AND a power cable - I hate it. 2. No Display Manager for Mac OS. As many have said, this sucks and Dell should address it. At this price point, I am sure than a more than expected share of the purchases are Mac users have much more price inelastic tendencies with purchases (its true.) Overall - absolutely the best monitor I have ever owned or seen. If you have the cash, I would get it although I know it is very pricey.

However, I'm used to the Odyssey G9 Neo and I've noticed that there is less curve to it which makes it a bit different to look at. Still early days, maybe I'll get used to it. I'm on OSX and the Odyssey G9 Neo flicker issue persists, so I'm trying out the Dell 49" and so far, no flicker, so I'm happy.

Just a little note for people who want to connect their office laptops, make sure you have administrative rights to load software on your company's device, otherwise you will not be able to download the Dell Display Manager and take full advantage of all the amazing features of this monitor.

I recently upgraded to the Dell UltraSharp 49" Curved Monitor U4919DW from three older 24" monitors, and it has completely transformed my workspace. The horizontal space is perfect for my multitasking needs, and it's a huge relief to have everything consolidated into one monitor. I did encounter some issues with setup, as I initially experienced flickering when using the supplied DP cable as well as with another 16K DP cable I had on hand. However, once I invested in the high-quality Silkland DisplayPort 2.1 Cable, the issue was resolved, and the monitor worked perfectly. This sensitivity with DP cables is something to keep in mind, but once you have a reliable one, the monitor works like a dream. I will say the monitor work well with the supplied HDMI cable and no had issues. Despite the age of the monitors technology (it’s really a 2019 technology), I am extremely pleased with the performance of this monitor. It does everything I need it to do and more, and it has been a game-changer for my productivity. The continuous screen is slick, and it has definitely helped clean up my desk area. Plus, with USB ports located in convenient locations, I never have to fumble around to plug something in. If I had one wish, it would be for a 2023 version of this monitor with faster refresh, but until then, I am happy to continue using the Dell UltraSharp 49" Curved Monitor U4919DW. Setting it up alone can be a bit of a challenge, but following the included directions will get you through it. It's not too heavy, but it can be a little ungainly to hold. I'm happy to add that while the refresh rate of the U4919DW is only 60hz, it works perfectly for my more static use applications. I don't play games, but from what I understand, while it would be suitable for gaming, there are better choices out there with higher refresh rates that provide even smoother gameplay. However, for my work and everyday use, the refresh rate is more than sufficient. Positives: • Provides a large horizontal space perfect for multitasking. • Consolidates multiple monitors into one, saving desk space. • High-quality continuous screen with no bezel interruption. • Good selection of ports, including conveniently located USB ports. • Sleek and practical design with a "wow" factor. • Suitable for non-gaming uses with a refresh rate of 60htz. • Good resolution at 5120 x 1440 @ 60 htz. Negatives: • Can be awkward to set up alone. • DP cable sensitivity may cause flickering issues with some cables. • Refresh rate of 60hz may not be sufficient for high end gamers looking for a super smooth experience. • The technology is a few years old and there isn't a 2023 version available yet. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a sleek, practical solution to their multitasking needs. The "wow" factor doesn't hurt, either!

The IPS display is excellent for text clarity, and color uniformity across 100% of the screen. Customer service is excellent. I found an issue with the panel and they immediately shipped me a replacement so I was able to keep using the original until it arrived. Return shipping and pickup was handled by customer service very well. I can fully recommend Dell and this monitor.

The monitor works very well with Windows 11 as that OS has built in screen options to cleaning and quickly divide up the huge screen for multiple apps/programs. The monitor was very well packaged and the set up was simple - just take your time, follow the easy directions - for some folks, a two person carry is highly recommended. Price is a bit steep, so not for everyone's budget. I am very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Beautiful and Big This monitor is big, beautiful and awesome. I should have bought one much earlier than I did. Set up is super easy right from the box. The box is engineered to make unpacking the accessories simple and installing the stand super easy without removing the monitor which is housed in the box safely. If you know they designed the box great, the monitor has to be superb an it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dream Come True! This monitor is super effective for folks like me who have to work with several apps simultaneously to get my work done. If you use the 'Dell Display Manager' tool (included), you can configure a setting customized to how you want multiple windows displayed on the monitor. Really great feature for such a wide monitor. I configured my monitor display with two smaller windows on either side of my main work area directly in front of me. It is a dream application for me...definitely efficient in using monitor real estate and getting my workflow synchronized.
