Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2021 MacBook Pro M1 using Dell Display Manager I purchased the Dell Ultrasharp U2722D because I need a display to pair with my 2021 MacBook Pro M1 and I really wanted to use the Dell Display Manager for MacOs. There are only a handful of Dell monitors compatible with DDM for MacOs and this one is on the list. This monitor has bright vivid colors and the resolution works well. It connected instantly with USB-C to DP 1.4 cable that I had previously purchased however the DDM would not work with that cable alone. I had to also use a USB-C to USB-C to transmit the DDM signal. Here's what worked: PC USB Type-C port --> Cable Matters USB Type-C to DP cable --> U2722D #4 DP in port PC USB Type-C port --> USB Type-C to C cable --> U2722D #6 USB Type-C upstream port By the way neither of the two cables that shipped with this monitor would connect to my MacBook Pro. You will also have to update the firmware on this monitor (at least as of Jan 2022) to work with DDM and enable Screen Recording (for DDM) and Accessibility (for DDM) in System Preferences, Security & Privacy.

It's a real pleasure to do photo editing on this screen. The monitor stand allows a very precise positioning. Overall design is super neat, clean, sober. Having two of those is a real game changer for me and my productivity as I work from home.

It's been a about a decade since I bought my last monitor and boy, have monitors come a long way! Everything is significantly better, especially the curved screen but also the colors and speed. When I originally considered this monitor, I assumed the curved screen is just a gimmick. But it is not! The additional screen space is worth every penny, and the panoramic view is very addictive. It is a great and worthwhile accessory to my Dell laptop.

For a premium monitor, the US2722D does not include a male-to-male USB-C cord, as most Dell business laptops have a mini-DisplayPort / USB-C outlet and not the larger DisplayPort outlet. Do like the placement of the power and control joystick on the back. Is easy to reach and control. The hollow mount is great for cord management behind the monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Resolution issue and delivery issue First issue - Max resolution on both monitors is 1440p. I connected both with Dell XPS. First monitor gets full resolution but when second monitor is connected to laptop then resolution of second monitor is reduced to 1080p. It doesn't matter if monitors are directly connected to laptop or via a hub. To mitigate different resolution issue, I reduced resolution of 1st monitor to 1080p but now it got black strip on top and bottom of monitor which effectively reduced monitor height by 1 and half inches. I worked with Dell technical team for 2 hours and they couldn't fix the issue. Second issue - Both monitors were delivered on different days. 1st monitor had packaging almost damaged. Second monitor's package was damaged as well as open which is ridiculous. These are expensive monitors and the way they are delivered appear unethical work. Overall, I still like monitors except those black strips. I have been long term customer and bought 4 Dell laptops in past so I trust Dell products but they way monitors are delivered and resolution issue not fixed, possibly other buyers would have returned these monitors. This is my third Dell Ultra Sharp monitor. The previous ones have been smaller sizes. Because of the quality of the monitor and the sharpness of what is displayed on the screen, Dell’s Ultra Sharp Monitor is my first choice of monitors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unless you need Ethernet, get the U2722D I bought 2 of these for my XPS 17 and work laptop to add screen real estate. The multiple output ports help as I can go from DisplayPort to HDMI on one and keep the other on the USB C without any issues in the image. They were super easy to assemble and adjust for tilt along with swivel. I don't think the pivot option will be used as I have a hutch over top of the desk that limits the vertical space and these monitors are pushed back there but that option may come in handy. The bezels are much thinner than my old single 1080p monitor. At 27" with a 1440p resolution, you can't go wrong here.

Biggest change in the last decade with this series is the bezel is now very narrow, the screen size is up, and the monitors are much more fragile than they used to be. Do not lift from only one edge.

The price is right...the quality is superb and the set up to my laptop is super easy. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crisp and clear monitor Opening the box was an experience; the cardboard might have been a Transformer with all the nooks and hidden compartments. I was originally a little put off by that, thinking it was overkill on cardboard, but once I set it up, everything changed. The setup, while only a 1-time thing, could not have been easier or more intuitive. Wire management is built into the arm and there is a menu option to allow the on-board USB to charge devices. Both are welcome additions because I despise wire management and it sure is nice to have an added USB port when the laptop only has 2. The image is far better than I would have expected considering the device is a full 6" smaller than my primary, but it makes up for it with a stunning clarity. Like many monitors, there are easy adjustments to be made but the easiest option is to cycle through the modes and find the one I like the most. Overall, I am extremely impressed by the Dell monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, satisfied purchase I purchased this monitor as an upgrade from a 15-year old Dell monitor that still worked well (and passed on to my wife for use with her laptop, so I stayed with Dell and am very happy. Delivery was fast, the monitor was well packed. My only complaint was I need to separately purchase an HDMI cord to connect with my 8-year old computer. The monitor has the appropriate ports, but not include that particular cable. The images are nice and sharp and it has a very clean look. I've decided a 27" screen is a big as I'd ever want for single window viewing.

I like the extra USB ports that free up the ones on the desk top computer I also like the HDMI port and the Display port and the cables that come with the display to connect these options. The stand, on and off buttons all function as expected and are easy to access. Color and performance of the unit is the best I've seen so far. I use the unit as a single monitor in a home setting with some photo editing, Basic graphic design, and some gaming.

Prior to getting this, I had 2 Dell UltraSharp U2711 monitors that I bought many years ago and they still work ok but they're starting to have some minor issues although they still work good. Nonetheless side by side with the new U2722D they are showing their age. The new monitor is just so sharp and crisp that I'm very much enjoying using it and would highly recommend it.

The monitors still aren't working properly after 2 hours on the phone with 2 different tech support people and being sent another replacement computer which I still can't use! Also no decent manual. I had to try to troubleshoot this myself from a manual on the internet. I connected all the cables as per the diagram and still no picture. Just two different error messages on each of 2 monitors! I had a big session last winter with a lapotop issue as well, that, although properly resolved still took up much time! I've been buying Dell computers for 20 years but I feel like the quality has gone downhill, as with much of everything else these days!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fair review from a standard user Actually, it would be 4 1/2 stars. I was looking for a 27" external display to use with my new MacBook Pro M1 14" (MBP). My main use is emails and the MS Office suite for personal home use. My first criteria were sharpness of texts (fonts) and a smooth display. After four days of reading reviews and recommendations, I purchased a well-referenced 4k display from a competitor, as it is amply reported that 4k provides sharper display rendition. That is true for photos and videos, outstanding actually, but not the case for texts in Words, numbers in Excel, etc. I have returned the display and spent another 4 days looking for a UHD/QHD type display and settled for the Dell UltraSharp 27 Monitor - U2722D. Photos and videos are sharp and colourful for my layman use. As required, text sharpness is up there to office use standard and actually better than the ones used in the office. I do not detect loss in quality around the edges. It is very soft on my eyes, a big plus for me. The 4K was just too aggressive. The display can be adjusted with a toggle switch located at the bottom back, right-hand side. Left-handers may find this annoying. There are five adjustment menus and multiple sub-menus, but there may be insufficient options for demanding users. The plastic aluminum looking foot looks good with the MBP and is stable. I am overall very satisfied with the display, but for two exceptions, hence the half-star loss. First, the display does not swivel horizontally, which is annoying when plugging/unplugging cables. Yes, it flips to a vertical position, but that is not sufficient for an easy access to the bottom of the display. Second, although there are sufficient connection options, I would have liked to have an RJ-45 hookup, as portables often do not have one. So, you lose a USB connection to allow for your internet hookup. At that price point, I believe that the swivel and RJ-45 connection options should be present nowadays. I would certainly recommend the display to a friend

Both monitors were easy to set up by using the DisplayPort cables included with the monitors to hook up to a CalDigit TS3+ Dock with a Dell XPS 13 laptop. Beautiful color and pictures are really ULTRA SHARP.

So, when I needed to separate my business and personal use, it was a no brainer decision to come to dell for my second ultrasharp 27 inch monitor. I am very pleased with the superb shipping and handling, extremely well packaged, arrived way before its estimated time, delivered with care at my doorstep. A new thing I did this time was to purchase the recommended wireless keyboard and mouse. I am thrilled to put this together, it is indeed a wonderful monitor - awesome crisp clear hi-def screen, easy to put together and get it running. Perfect accompanying accessories!! Thank you Dell.

The color, definition & speed are excellent and well suited to gaming which requires fast monitor. The monitor works well in business or school also as the lines & word in documents are well defined to make it easier to read with eye strain. The monitor ouf the box was tiny bit distorted frame but the LCD itself was fine. The DisplayPort Cable was shorter than expected for the size of the monitor as you need to further back to see the whole screen easily. Nevertheless this is great monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Check that the U2722DE is not a better option for you. Nice monitor. Clean and crisp picture. Easy to setup and use. Thumbs up. However, I was hoping that it would be easier to connect with my MacBook Pro - it was not. If you want to connect a newer Mac laptop to this, I'd recommend the U2722DE which (I believe) will work as a hub with power, video, and external USB all running through one USB-c cable. With this model, I needed to buy a USB-C to DisplayPort cable for the video, then have a separate USB-C to USB-C cable for peripherals (mic, speakers, printers etc) and then I also needed a USB splitter on the monitor for all the peripherals that I wanted to run. I still have to power the laptop from the wall. So, not a clean setup, but as a monitor alone it works well!

However there were a few issues when I received it, like not having the cables I needed to connect the computer to the monitor. There is a recurring issue with the battery charging erratically or not at all that seems to work out if I leave the computer charging continuously, which I believe is hard on the battery.

Unfortunately, nowhere in the documentation does it say that the third cable (usb) needs to be plugged in so that the other two usb ports on the back of the screen become active. I bought the magnetic sound bar and spent some time trying to get it to work before I tried plugging in the "extra" cable.

It sits next to a high end monitor with a wider RGB gamut and it looks great very little difference. When profiled the graphs do show the RBG gamut just a little smaller on the Dell than the main monitor, sRGB they are a little closer. Profiled great, looks great on my desk I would recommend it even as a main monitor at this price, my main monitor cost 4x more. As far as I can tell you can only input via HDMI not the other ports listed. The matte is the way to go 100%.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Monitor This monitor is everything I needed, I use this monitor for programming and gaming and the picture and the colors looking amazing despite it being nearly bezelless the colors on the monitor are crisp and refresh rate is great for casual gaming, and I haven't had any issues so for the only issue that I have with it is the when using it in vertical mode there are some dark areas on the monitor but still it is usable in vertical mode. I have been using this for over a month and haven't had any issues

Had to replace a different brand's 4k monitor that was giving me migraines, even with the brightness turned down. Ultrasharp is the best monitor series in my experience. You can get good contrast, legibility and color fidelity without too much illumination giving the sensation of lazers beaming into your eyes. Minimal glare - the texture of the image is right - I don't know how to explain it.

The color and resolution are more than satisfactory to marketing demands, which are quite rigorous. Given the price differential between this unit and Dell top of the line units -- or that of more expensive makes -- I would imagine there may be a marginal improvement, but for the moment the cost/benefit ratio doesn`t justify an upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best options that you can get without having to step up to $1k plus. Solid sRGB monitor for work that requires strong coverage of sRGB, 709, and DCI-P3. No frills, decent set-up time and feels strong, sturdy. Superior on/off activation (you might decide it's a bit funky for the control to be on the backside, but it will prevent accidental on/off; contact area does not feel flimsy). If you understand the need for 'only' sRGB v Adobe RGB, you'll see very good value here. At 27", plan for some desk real estate if you aren't used to this scale of monitor, and if you haven't used a 1440, that may take time to adjust to as well. If you want to add a sound bar, be sure to check on your set-up and connection needs. (ie plan a cable purchase based on how you'll connect to your tower and supply power) Most will need to refer to guides for the port/slot config but needs there are well taken care of. So what would I like for this? Monitor hood, slightly higher refresh, additional cables. An odd plus- I absolutely think that monitors need to be about video, not audio. Soundbar connection is very easy and equally a solid feel, and keeps this unit having a single-task focus. Others may disagree, but I think that's smart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't come with hdmi or usb-c to usb-c cables I got in trouble with this monitor, it arrived without the hdmi cable, and I my macs were not able to find the monitor with the help of two other cables that were included, i called tech support they told me to get a “male to male” usb-c to usb-c cable, I did that and when it arrived it didn’t help, I believe I just needed an hdmi cable, but I will never know because I sent the monitor and the cord back to dell.

The sleek design of the monitor is evident in that it has a very narrow frame around the viewing area. Also the silver base and vertical support are well done and very aesthetic. And the best part...it is a very clear and sharp monitor with beautiful color!! I am very pleased with this monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Dell’s Best Nice clear image, the resolution is good for its size. The on screen menu and controls are good. The brightness is good. However, the stand seems much more flimsy than past models. The contrast ratio, angular viewing properties and color tint are much worse than my past UltraSharp models I’ve owned. I have it side by side with my 24” ultrasharp from 2013, and the old one is far better in tint, contrast ratio and angular viewing properties. Blacks are much darker with the old monitor.

Might have gone a bit overboard with the 27" though. I think a 25" would have done the job. I am very pleased with the color, quality, and ease of installation. However, the USC C ports under the monitors are so slow at charging my phone that the ports are pretty much useless. Also, I did have to purchase a USC C to video port cable in order for this set up to work. The cables provided did not allow video from my desktop or laptop straight out of the box. Overall, I would highly recommend and unless you really have a need for 27", I think a size or two down might be a better purchase.

The color, definition & speed are excellent and well suited to gaming which requires fast monitor. The monitor works well in business or school also as the lines & word in documents are well defined to make it easier to read with eye strain. The monitor ouf the box was tiny bit distorted frame but the LCD itself was fine. The DisplayPort Cable was shorter than expected for the size of the monitor as you need to further back to see the whole screen easily. Nevertheless this is great monitor.

The U2722D is well priced and everyone who uses it enjoys having it on their desks. The size and resolution is ideal then looking at a laptop 14 screen. The USB ports are placed in a good location for USB devices plus the under USB slots. Well designed and easy to set up monitor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor upgrade from the Dell U2311H from 2011 I bought two of these monitors to replace my aging Dell U2311H monitors and I am really impressed. The U2311Hs were the best monitors I had bought in a decade, and these are much better. The higher resolution is helping with my aging eyesight and, when I want, I can put more windows on a screen (I'm normally running 125% now, but can easily switch back to 100% to see more windows for audio work). While these do not have the dual monitor via a single USBC feed, they do have USBC feeding a four-port USB hub which is useful. I added a four port USB 3 switch to one and it seems to be working well. I was feeding my old monitors via two Display Port cables, so I kept that configuration.

So if you are using more than one like I am, you definitely need a large desk and some distance between your eyes and the display or they will feel like they are right on top of you. I run three of these on an XPS 8950 and they just rock!

At this price point, I would like to have seen a better contrast ratio and better coverage of the Adobe RGB color palette, but this is still a good monitor for my uses overall. No dead pixels, almost no back light bleed, lighting is even enough, and the 1440p is certainly better than 1080. Would I recommend it to a friend? Only if it's on sale, and they aren't doing any Adobe RGB photo editing that needs to be accurate.

The 27" screen gives me a lot of real estate to work with and the narrow bezel means there is very little wasted space. As a photographer this monitor gets a heavy workout and it stands up to it easily.

The second was on sale and I had a small credit to apply so was given a better price than the first. On delivery, FedEx left it on my porch and had driven off by the time I was able to answer front door. The box had been torn open and poorly taped closed with parts of the box taped to the side. I called Dell customer service and was sent a return label for the package and immediately sent back. The replacement monitor showed up two days later with a taped box that had been opened. Not as badly torn but still an opened box that had obviously been used and returned to Dell. That delivery was sent back and no more purchases made.

It is for personal use not for business photography but, I am just amazed at what I am seeing. So happy I finally have a large colorful monitor. For example, when adjusting the brightness up or down the menu disappears. When I click left to go to the contrast section sometimes I am successful, but most of the time the menu disappears as if I pressed the center position.

Other year's model has great and luxurious dark gray color, but this year's silver color look product very cheap. I don't like this year's design, color, stability, and IPS panel of this year's dell model and specifically U2722D.

I was offered to return and order the correct ones however they were already in use and a pain to return, not to mention the time going without during the return process. I would order again from Dell but would triple check to make sure all features are correct. The rest of the order process went well.

I have ordered a pair of glasses with upper part set for computer distance. A few years ago, I purchased the Dell 25 inch ultra sharp monitor (U2518D) for my Dell Inspiron Windows 10 computer and was greatly impressed with it. I recently purchased a new Dell XPS Desktop and selected the 27 inch ultra sharp monitor (U2722D) to go with it. It is all set up now and I am even more impressed with the sharpness and quality. I have been backpacking and hiking in the Washington State Cascades and Olympics for decades and take a lot of high definition pictures. The Dell Ultra Sharp monitors display the images in great sharpness and quality color. I highly recommend them.

As just a monitor I would give it 5 stars, if the power to the SB522A soundbar problem were resolved without an additional cable, so say 4.5 stars, and if you are not trying to power a soundbar off the monitor, 5 stars. I bought 2 of these, so maybe averaging both the left and right monitors, 4.75 stars.

I wanted a larger monitor and when I was buying a computer, the 27" was the only one that was displayed, and it had an "add to cart" button. I did not know that had I clicked the title of the monitor, that then I would be presented with options for larger sizes. Now I'm stuck with the 27" thinking that it was the only size available. Sucks.

The HDMI cord was not included in the packaging although the DP cord was. It took us 4 hours to connect the monitor to the computer because we did not realize we needed the the HDMI cord (fortunately we had one from another computer). I am sure our children could have put it together faster but we are not that computer savvy. And the instructions are illustrations, a few directional words would have been appreciated & probably helpful. But once we got connected the monitor connected it was great.

I didn’t know how much difference a monitor makes until I received this one. Since then, I am so looking forward to the PC I purchased with it to come along. The monitor itself makes my pictures look incredibly better, I am looking forward to see them with a new video card. Much, much better than I expected. I also love the USB connectivity for my external drives and camera. When I purchased the monitor I really didn’t pay attention to the description so this was a bonus for me. I was mainly looking for better definition image but the convenience of these ports elevated my desk experience. Very happy with this purchase

This monitor is great and does everything you'd expect. No issues running it over HDMI on my Mac Mini. The calibration out of the box was pretty good, but still used a colorimeter to calibrate for color photography.

Dell's Tech Support was super with this but it was inconvenient to have to return the first monitor. I am now having problems with sound using this new monitor. The text is so much sharper and the extra resolution provides enough extra workspace to make the upgrade worth it. For anyone who ends up buying this, I'd play with the rotation and pivot features of the stand before attaching it to the screen. It can be very stiff.

I love this monitor! I love the sleek design of this monitor as well as the sharpness of the content viewed on the screen. This is an everyday monitor I use for work and as well as for video editing. I would definitely recommend this monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great quality monitor I ordered two of these monitors, and have been quite happy with them so far. They came at a reasonable price - and it is nice that you can get it both in a version that has the built in docking station stuff - or does not have the docking station stuff (saving about $100). Since I'm on a large desktop computer, I didn't need the docking station parts. Both monitors arrived perfect, no dead pixels. They were shipped quickly, though Fedex lost one of them for a couple of days. A feature of these that is a bit under-advertised, you can daisy chain two of these monitors together at their native resolution, if you use display port. So, display port from your computer to monitor 1, then displayport from monitor 1 to monitor 2. An extra bonus with these configuration - if you change the settings on one of the monitors - say brightness - the other monitor sees the change, and immediately duplicates the settings change. You also don't need as many cables, and, don't need two display port outputs on your computer. (Assuming your video card is a new enough revision of display port to support chaining - most are these days) Two of these are plenty wide - I wouldn't want to be much wider. But the improvement in resolution and clarity over my old 24" monitor that only did 1920x1080 is very nice. I do wish they would keep a USB connection on the side of the monitor however - the only accessible ones (that aren't buried behind the monitor) are on the bottom, which is impossible to see - have to use it by feel.

The exterior of the monitor is stylish, and functional: Monitor height and orientation be easily adjusted. More importantly, setup is easy. The newest version of the Ultrasharp monitor is backward-compatible to older Dell computers. Finally, the price is competitive based on the monitor's quality and life expectancy.

Screen height is almost exactly the same as my 34", so bouncing between the screens, the cursor doesn't "get stuck" in the corner of the monitor and doesn't "jump" as it goes between the screens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell never disappoints The package arrived via FedEx next day in pristine condition. Setup was easy with the joystick, easier if you download Dell Display Manager from Dell. Superb monitor in every way over my trusty UltraSharp 2007FP, which has since been relegated to bill pay duty on my downstairs pc. Scaling it to my eyes at a comfortable viewing distance took several days. My IOL implants are set up for mini-monovision so I sacrifice a little sharpness at both ends. For me, optimum viewing distance is around 30", custom scale 138%, text size 112% (Windows 11). I found the default brightness at 75% too bright and adjusted it down to 60%. Miss the side mount USB ports of the 2007FP, but understand why Dell did away with it. Shipping with no HDMI cable was no problem as I have accumulated many over the years. Overall just a beautiful monitor, very happy with it.

I was considering a 49" curved monitor instead of the two most recent 27" U2722D. However, two of the 27" was a better choice for me. The only issue I have is with the stands. Those are not stable and wobbles easily especially if you use a stand desk which itself may move a bit. I replaced all of the stands with those I had from the old U2413 monitors I saved. Sturdy stands!

I've used and loved Dell's P-series monitors for years, but I decided to splurge on a U-series monitor for my new XPS desktop, and I love it! It's quite bright, and the color depth is noticeably richer. Minor nitpick: I don't love that the monitor rotates on the stand (I don't need vertical orientation), as this makes it a bit harder to make sure the display is level, but it's not a big deal and works just fine. Overall, I love this monitor!

The OSD joystick can be clumsy and takes some getting used to. Instead of pushing it down in the direction we wanted to go we found it easier to lift up on the opposite side. This monitor has a great many features, most of which we will not need or use. We got it for the increased color space.
