Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4.5 - All I could afford, WORKS GREAT I wish I had been able to afford a bigger drive, let's just get that out of the way. But that isn't the product's fault. This drive has given me back my laptop - it is fast, it works for what I need (mostly travel work from the cloud and presentations). It absolutely was a great investment. The price on these things just always pinches a bit - or it would be 5 stars all the way!

Must be popular or in high demand because I ordered it overnighted via my CDW rep on 11/20/19 and received it by 11/27/19. Not a terrible wait but well worth it.

After installing this hard drive (previously using factory (500GB 5400 rpm Hybrid Hard Drive + 8GB Embedded Flash Cache ) the laptop speed and battery life has increased significantly. I expected that this would be the case, and my expectations were met. i was able to reinvigorate my sons laptop (originally purchased in 2016 before he went to college) back into a machine that he can use for a few more years. My biggest gripe is that nether the Dell representative, nor the instructions provide any good info on how to actually install this drive. What i finally ended up doing was to: 1. install all windows and dell updates, to get the system current (we hadnt done some of these, because of the amount of time, and impact it would have on the machine). 2. make a new windows emergency disk. 3. back up your existing hard drive (i did both a thumb drive and to the cloud). 4. turn off the computer, and disconnect the power (and battery if you can) 5. open the bottom of the laptop (make sure you use static elimination - like a wrist band and rubber mat). 6. disconnect the old disk drive from the SATA connection. 7. connect the new hard drive. 8. insert the emergency disk/thumb drive into the laptop. 9. turn on the laptop and watch for the "boot from external drive" or "press xx to enter setup" notification. 10. enter setup, and select boot from external drive (either disk, or usb - depending on where you emergency disk is located), 11. wait until the emergency disk installs windows onto the new disk drive. 12. run windows update and dell update 13. copy your backup files back to the new hard drive. enjoy the increased performance of your laptop, and the extended battery life

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recovery software does not work I purchased the drive and a jump drive to recover from a failed OEM drive and the recovery software that dell provides does not work and i cant get a ISO image to recover my laptop - not happy.

I got this item for my little brother who's a computer engineering and information technology degree student and he is very happy with it so far. This is the second time I buy stuff directly from Dell and I look forward to buying more in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frustrated I am frustrated and angry that my laptop told me to get this instead of a replacement of the 1 TB size that my laptop had. I basically downgraded my storage space which is frustrating when my laptop told me this was the part I needed to fix my error.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USELESS HARDRIVE The instructions on installation were horrible. It was difficult to follow. I had to spend $100 to get Windows and IT assistance because after installation, the Dell hard drive DID NOT COME WITH AN OPERATING SYSTEM and the laptop could not boot from a USB.

Regarding the SSD here, it's unfortunate Windows has issues with HDD's these days that you have to replace them Received Drive as Advertised

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Speed Put it into an Inspiron 15 - speed of all programs is remarkable; didn't expect that. Installation was simple, following directions from Dell support on the internet - but only after a really difficult disassembly of the laptop. Too many screws, snaps, catches - thankful I had the right tools. Price of hard drive was very fair and competitive with other sources. I had a recovery drive that worked beautifully - I only had to click to proceed a few times and after recovery from the cloud backup everything was working just as before. Plan to put same drive into another dead laptop soon. Dell order fulfillment was slow, took a month after ordering before they shipped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast service but additional mounting hardware needed I received the new SSD fast but then realized I need an adapter for it. The original drive was HDD and the caddy for it will not work for the SSD. I shouldn't have to ask for additional hardware when ordering from the OEM. Even the instruction guide doesn't show the correct placement of the SSD (it shows front installation, but the inside mount is what I need for the 3668.
