I installed two 4gb modules in my older Toshiba i5 laptop. It came with 4gb originally. I noticed Windows 10 did not run as efficiently as it should. The laptop now is so much better. Instead of purchasing a new laptop for around $500 with the same processor and ram, I was able to upgrade for about $80. I am very happy with things so far.

I used this to upgrade an older laptop with 2 GB ram. I also upgraded the disk drive to an SSD & to Windows 10 for a co-worker's wife. The laptop "runs faster than it did when it was new". Probably any manufacturer's RAM would've accomplished that, but I had trouble determining which RAM I needed with absolute certainty. Let's face it, Laptops are a touch pickier than desktops when it comes to which RAM can be used. I first looked at online computer parts retailers sites and their memory finder tools could not tell me exactly which chip I needed. I started going to the chip manufacturer's sites and Crucial was not the first I looked at, but it was the last. The Crucial Memory Advisor was dead on helping me select this chip. The model of the laptop matched perfectly. And the price was reasonable.

I used the compatibility finder on the Crucial website as I had already experienced incompatible RAM from another manufacturer. This memory was suggested by Crucial to be an exact match for my wife's ASUS K52J, and it was. Delivery was swifter than usual; just a couple of days. Installation was a snap. We've been running this new memory for several weeks to test reliability. NO PROBLEMO! This upgrade from 4GB to 8GB allows for more open apps and combined with a new SSHD the laptop has been rejuvenated to very fast performance. (Boot times reduced from 3.5 minutes to about 40 seconds.) Buy the memory and you'll be completely satisfied.

I bought two of these to max out an aging laptop that only had two gigabytes of ram. Now, I can run many applications at once. I got these so that I could use many virtual machines at once. Installing these memory sticks was not difficult at all. I watched a few youtube videos just to be sure. They have been installed and running almost daily for two months now. They're very reliable. Also, they arrived on time as promised.

I access large spreadsheets on a regular basis and it would take several minutes for these sheets to open. Now that I've increased the RAM with Crucial, the spreadsheets open a lot faster.

Seems to be SOMEWHAT faster at times.
I think it has helped speed up things at times, but I do have some of the same problems I have had before upgrading RAM memory from 4GB to 8 GB. I thought they might go away after the upgrade. But knowing that I am using 1/3 of 8 GB of memory sounds a lot better than using over 3 GB's of memory out of 4 GB's.

I added some juice to an older Samsung laptop with stock 4Ghz. I had trouble running Adobe PS and LIghtroom 5. Once I doubled the ram from 4 to 8Ghz it made all the difference. Excellent performance, easy installation tuneup for minimum cost. These are quality boards.

I easily added some memory (from 6Gb to it's max of 8Gb)to my aging yet still pretty potent Sony VAIO VPCF115FM. Simple to swap and/or add the ram, reason was because I wanted to squeeze all I can out of the old laptop. I'm using it for DAW/Cubase 8.5 Pro/Reason 8, and although I'm not running huge projects on it, it is doing great with both apps. Crucial memory is doing a fine job so far.

The affordble upgrade for a I5-3317u Laptop
I use my PC at home and work for viewing aviation documents, photos, 3d drawings, PDFs, and writing. The difference made by replacing existing DRAM and installing Crucial DRAM allowed me to keep using my I5 laptop. Finally the only hassle I had is with the laptop disassembly to install DRAM. A special note that Window's 10 runs significantly faster & applications load quick now with Crucial's 8 gigabyte DRAM kit.

Not as big as a performance jump as I was imagining but the ram is there and I can tell a slight difference. Bought the upgrade for a particular game and it helps out a little there. For the price it was a good gamble, looking back a SSD hard drive might have been better but I went this route and it helps with multitasking in Windows 7.

Added two of these to a laptop to upgrade from 2GB to 8GB. On Windows 7 performance was significantly better. 2GB just is not enough with all the overhead that msft burdens the PC with. Other specs on this laptop: 1.5GHZ Core i5 3rd gen, 360GB Hard drive, Intel HD graphics. Laptop is 3 years old. Minecraft and other games run great now.

We have an older Dell laptop with two 2gb slots, expandable to 4gb each. It started getting slow and hanging up, especially on graphic-heavy websites. Added the two ram sticks and it's like getting a new computer. We are anything but tech savvy, but this was a super easy and quick fix. Very pleased overall. Most people know what increasing RAM does. However, I was shocked that Win 10 actually needs time to adjust for RAM changes. This was totally new to me and in no way reflects negatively against Crucial products. I would highly recommend their products.

Got this to upgrade my Dad's aging laptop, a Dell Inspirion 15R N5110, in an attempt to keep it more relevant for a while before replacing it with a new one. With how easy the ram upgrade was, we may just upgrade his HDD to an SSD in the future to help with that. I'm not the primary user of the laptop, so all I cared about was compatibility, and reliability. System recognized the new ram immediately and we've had no problems with it, so I can't complain.

This additional memory went into an old Compaq 6710b laptop. It smoothed out the performance, when having 2 or more screens open at the same time. Please. Like the fact that the Crucial System Scanner get it right the first time & lets you know just how much your system will take. The Crucial System Scanner gets used about 3 times a week & so far it has not fail to please.

After installing the product, my PC would turn off on its own after two hours, or the display will blank out or display vertical lines and I could not work anymore. I will revisit this review once I get the replacement.

Bought ram upgrade intending to extend useful life of my laptop another 3 years or so. Minimal cost and major time saving compared to replacing computer and reinstalling files etc. Not a geek, so was relieved to find I could identify the right memory units from the crucial website. And followed easy installation procedure after watching a couple of YouTube videos. Package arrived promptly, installed in 10 minutes, up and running again in five more. Windows 10 upgrade was next and no issues there either. What more can you ask for?

I could only use one stick of memory, the laptop when both were installed would not boot up. It seems to work fine with a total of 6mb but would like both sticks to be installed, I am running CAM, computer aided machining software that uses a lot of memory at times.

This item is working fine in my HP2000-299WM notebook although it was not listed as the preferred upgrade via Crucial Advisor Tool. That upgrade did not function as expected and was promptly replaced after Ryan in Crucial Technical Support discovered what the culprit was. Super Kudos to Crucial Customer Support!

Great & Inexpensive Upgrade
This laptop was purchased with Win 7 x64 and 4 gig/ram pre-installed several years ago for my aunt and did well for her every day use. But as the saying goes "as Windows grows, computers slows" and she's noticed a difference in overall performance as the Windows updates have piled in. Upgrading her laptop from 4 gig to 8 gig/ram has put it back in shape again, the whole system seems "happy" again now and she's happy she doesn't need to replace it yet!

Needed VMware on my Study Laptop to help with Certs exams! These work great! No compatibility issues. You may find a lower price that show the correct specs, but Crucial has the compatibility tool by the model number of the laptop. Most of the space in the Samsung computer memory was taken up with internal programs. By going from 4 to 8, helped a lot on speed of computer responses.; It was a real challenge removing the back cover of the Samsung computer to insert the new memory This made a slow computer into an OK computer.

Pretty easy install
I didn't submit Pros/Cons because it is simply a memory upgrade. I don't realize a difference yet. I thought it would help my videos and .Gifs to render better, but I dtill have lag. I feel better about maxing out my laptop, but see no advantage really. I probably have an issue elswhere, but it was really plug and play. Watch a Youtube DIY and go from there. At first I didn't see all 8GB, but I opepened it back up, redid it to make sure they were seated and that was the end of it.

Completely incorrect memory
The memory selector stated that this upgrade kit would work for my Toshiba Satellite A660 and the memory is not correct for this laptop. The laptop will not pass the black screen with the flashing cursor. Old memory works fine. Waste of time and very disappointed with the "memory experts".

Poor service
Product did not work even after being scanned by crucial. Tech support took 2 weeks and after getting the original product back they would not send me another one. They said they refunded my money and I have to buy another part number ,even though one tech rep said they would. I figured it wasn't worth it because they didn't sound like they knew for sure if the different part number would work. I will never use them again and am really hesitant about trying any other memory card website .

I had to watch a couple of Youtube videos to see how to install it. But at least I knew that with Crucial, it definitely would be the right module for my computer. That's what keeps me coming back to them - with their diagnostic tool you just KNOW it's going to be right.

My initial concern was in choosing the correct part. Crucial took care of that for me by assisting with the selection. Second to that was the wait. I was impatient to use my updated laptop and was not looking forward to the 10 to 12 business days it was going to take to get my parts. Just updated the laptop from Win7 to Win10. The laptop had 3GB and just couldn't handle the updated OS. Crucial delivered the 8GB upgrade quickly. I popped the lid and swapped in the 8GB and rebooted the laptop. It has a whole new lease on life!

I noticed my Thinkpad T410i was really getting bogged down with ordinary computing tasks like web browsing so I decided to upgrade the memory. I went with Crucial because they have a good reputation. I'm not a very sophisticated user but I can say this memory seems to be working well and reliably, and has improved my laptop's performance. It was easy to install.

The memory was easy to install with clear instructions. I'm a casual user and this is the first time I opened a laptop to do any sort of upgrade. It was very easy and booted right up with the added memory. I went from 2mb to 8mb on a 4 year old Acer laptop that was performing sluggish. There is a noticeable improvement in performance from bad to back where it was when first purchased.

Bought 48GB for my Precision T7500. The cost was a fraction of the manufacturer branded memory so I was hesitant at first as Dell desktops/laptops can be picky about RAM. The Crucial dimms were easy to install (thanks to the chassis); system booted right up and recognized them without any problems. Windows 7 likes the increased amount of RAM, my applications like it, but I've got to upgrade my SSD drive as the swap file is now huge. But that is the only drawback.

I ordered this 2 each 4 Gig because it is Toshiba compatable. One works but must have original memory in 1 slot or it will not boot. Disapppointed in Crucial claiming compatability and it is not.

It seemed that on the initial boot-up that the computer was using alot of memory to where it was trying to use the hard drive for both the boot and the extra memory. You could the system memory be up to almost the 4GB memory limit. Decided to buy the 8GB memory cards. I did see an istant improvement but it's still a little slow to boot up. At least now it's not because of the hard drive issue.

This memory was added to my ISUS Chrome box's 2Gb memory, for a total of 6Gb. In checking the system's memory in use, I can see it will hit 3 Gbytes at most, especially when viewing videos. The additional 4 Gbytes has definitely enhance the performance. The product has worked with no hitches. Although no instructions are provided, a simple YouTube search provides instructional videos for easy installation.

I purchased 2 units to enable my upgrading by 50% on an HP laptop. I had planned to install this myself, but after removing the older chip I wasn't quite sure how to install the 2 units so I took it to a local person who had it installed in less than 5 minutes. The additional RAM greatly improved the speed and performance. I would recommend this to others considering a similar upgrade.

Always check and see if there is actually 2 ram bays before ordering a set of ram. The acer aspire e1-510-2683 has only 1 working bay. I would have been better off ordering 1 -8 gig instead of 2- 4 gig. The scanner stated that I had 2 with 1 empty. . I should have checked my self.

Don't use on a Toshiba L675-S6044. Laptop would not boot past flash screen. Tech support was wonderful had a couple of suggestions still no go. One of the easiest RMA processes I have ever used. They provided a prepaid UPS shipping label. I was very impressed with the customer support. I wished it had worked as the support was so good.

I watched 2 videos but still could not install the memory chips correctly. I had to ask a friend for help and it worked. The trick was to insert the memory card at a 45 degree angle, then slowly lower it until it snaps in. Now that it's installed, I'm very happy with the memory.

Easy to install. Just find a video on YouTube and do what they do! The new Crucial RAM worked seamlessly upon initial boot-up. I really appreciate the Crucial .exe file from their website that scanned my laptop and suggested the proper RAM. Clearly it worked. It's difficult to comment on the performance boost the added RAM gives because I also installed a new SSD in my ASUS laptop. The two new components together have basically given me a brand new, lightening fast laptop used for media management on site for video production.

I greatly appreciated the support provided by Crucial's web site in identifying the compatible memory component I needed to upgrade my Dell laptop. Initially used to upgrade a Lenovo R400. Substantial improvement. 2GB before, 8GB after with this upgrade. Internet browsing became enjoyable. Loading and navigating online Point of Sales systems became smoother and reliable. Now we can run multiple Internet browsers, Excel, stream music, calculator, continuous cloud updates, McAfee, and Word all at once without having to close anything. Moved the upgrade to an HP Probook and the first thing I ran was Diablo III with every graphic option available enabled. I'm in love with the game all over again. My only regret is having waited so long to do this upgrade.

After reading reviews on other sites regarding compatibility issues, I determined the exact model of Toshiba laptop I own and Crucial offered an 8GB upgrade in claimed would fit my model. Don't judge a product by the cost.
The laptop I added more memory to is my grandchild's. She uses it mostly for school and social media. I recommend when increasing the ROM from 4 gb to 8 gb to do it as a matched pair. 4 gb is just not enough to do much if you are running windows 7.2. The company recommended the matched pair for this laptop and they were correct. I have been working on computers for over 20 years and I will buy from them again.

I got Crucial's upgrade to 8gb RAM - my computer had 4gb RAM but supposedly will take 8. I used Crucial's computer SCAN to get the right product for my computer but once installed, my computer still says 4gb RAM ONLY. Also, I see no difference in performance and yet all I do on my computer is emails, Word documents and google search. My computer was checked out prior to Crucial upgrade and it has no viruses or other problems. Makes me wonder if I got a DUD upgrade.

This is the worst experience ever
When you state that the memory is compatible please make sure it is or at least tell us that it will require updating a bios and resetting the mother board by removing every piece of plastic on our machine to find the fuse we need to short with a screwdriver.

I would put all of this under "Pros", but there's space there for only about ten words. I bought this for a Lenovo T440s. This is more about the laptop, but if you remove the tabs in the right order, the back cover comes off without breaking anything. This memory has the same timings as the memory that comes with the laptop, and installing this enabled dual channel to work automatically.

This is the second family lap top I upgraded the RAM in. I like the scan function of the website. On the first upgrade the scan showed the highest amount of ram I could install. This time it didn't show the highest and I had to go hunt for it. My son uses this for gaming and it helps the machine to stay cooler.

I am anticipating the windows 10 upgrade and and needed to update my Qosimo core 7 to make it a little hotter. The ram seletion chart is excellent and the memory upgrade fit the memory slots and ran perfectly. The installation instructions provided by Crucial are very generic. Since i am a little apprehensive about working on a laptop i had to get a a online manual from Toshbia. The whole installation process took about 15 minutes and went without a hitch.

My mom constantly fought with her facebook games. I thought, really, how many resources do those take to run? I replaced her OEM 2GB of RAM with two 4GB sticks, and now her laptop runs great. The games still aren't perfect, but at least now we can narrow down the issue to network or programming issues. System boot, backups, and virus scans also go a lot faster. As a bonus, it runs at lower voltage than OEM, so they'll put off less heat - and hopefully extend the useful life of the laptop.

I just upgraded two of our family laptops; both had 4 GB (2x2) and I went to 8. The speed increase over the native memory was stunning in one (Lenovo) and substantial in the other (Toshiba). The Toshiba has independent graphics which were not affected, and yet the graphic response of the computer gaming, especially while multitasking was much improved--more and faster memory. No point in messing around with "bargain" brands--this is the real bargain. I was so impressed I bought 500 shares of Micron stock, seriously.

Its an easy upgrade.
Bought the 8gb memory upgrade for my new laptop. I wanted to use solid works but the 4gb original memory wasnt cutting it. I put in the new 8gb memory in, no problems starting up, and solid works was considerably faster. Great memory all around.

Laptop was slow and getting bogged down with multiple request. Double the memory and it made a big difference. Laptop starts and shuts down faster and handles multiple request a lot quicker.

It's going to extend the life of my HP ProBook 4730s
I replaced the original 4GB RAM by Hynix with two 4GB modules by Crucial. The difference is significant: in overall speed and shorter wait time after every input, perhaps 30 to 50 percent. When using the external wired keyboard by Apple, the laptop doesn't skip any pressed keys/letters any more, which wasn't the case before I put 8GB RAM into it. I considered replacing the hard drive with an SSD, but wasn't certain about the consequences. 2x4GB RAM in it is all the laptop needed.

adding memory is a cost effective bump
upgraded an older I-3 chip Asus All-in-one that was sluggish from 4 gig to 12 gig. Multi window performance improved dramatically, and making some adjustments tot he page file setup seemed to improve boot time and file opening. Easy install in this machine, and the downloadable chip identifier software is first rate and accurate. Have used crucial memory on many of my business and gaming rigs over the years - always with excellent results.

I'm a non-techy user who does a bunch of surfing, my laptop has been through the ringer and is about 6 years old. I was concerned since its original memory was PC3-8500 and Crucial said the upgrade to PC-12800 would work and it seemed a stretch to ask that of the laptop system. But was getting memory not sufficient notices, so decided to trust and things are working well. Absolutely no issues with install or the computer recognizing or using the new modules. Hard to say much about speed since the limiting factor is most likely my brain rather than the laptop. Very happy, like things not too exciting!

netflix was slow and so i doubled the amount of RAM in my daughter's notebook. it turns out the ISP is playing games in that regard but the extra memory was a great value and improved functionality. I just popped out the old and installed the new and voila! a great deal and done in a minute! i cannot think of anything NOT great about it! i do take Crucial's advice and always buy in dual channel kit.

Wasn't compatible with my laptop
Tried upgrading my Toshiba Satellite A665 to 8GB. Was not compatible with my system. Loaded both chips but Windows 7 would not load. Tried one new chip and one old and Windows loaded with 6GB. Upgraded bios but it was no use. Saw someone else's comment about having an A667 and they suggested using pc-8500 instead of pc-12800 as crucial recommended. Pc-8500 worked with 8GB and now the laptop runs smoother than before.

I upgraded my Core i3 laptop from 4GB to 8GB after experiencing performance problems while running GNS3, HyperV and Virtual Box, especially GNS3, which I work with daily running between 8 and 15 Cisco IOS routers. One of two Bad
I purchased the package of 2x4GB RAM for my laptop to upgrade from $GB to 8GB. I purchased the item that had 2x4GB strictly so that the RAM modules would be the same. Well they came on time but one of the RAM modules was bad and the computer would not boot and gave a special beeping sound to let me know. When I replaced the original 4GB that came with the computer and tried one of the Crucial RAM I still got an error and no Boot up. I tried to use the second RAM from Crucial the computer accepted it and it works fine now.

Installing was simple. I recorded time difference it took to boot up and be fully connected to internet and it booted up much faster. Instead of purchasing a new computer, make simple upgrades on your original computer to give you almost same performance as a new computer. Adding SSD ( solid state drive will also and dramatically increase speed also. A more cost effective means of upgrading than purchasing a new one.

The descriptor for this memory module stated explicitly that it would work with my machine; an HP Pavilion DV6-2157/sb Entertainment model. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Time and money were wasted on this purchase. Though I believe that given the right machine, according to the specs, the memory module will probably work just fine.

Excellent Expansion RAM for Asustor NAS
Despite the lack of listing in the equipment database for the Asustor NAS systems the live chat agent was able to help me identify the needed expansion module based on the identifying characteristics of the original RAM shipped in the NAS. The device came with two 2Gb DIMM and I replaced them with two 4Gb DIMM. Made a significant increase in how fast apps load and in startup speeds of streaming to the HDMI and S/PDIF ports. Great product. I have used Crucial products including their original Micron computers for more than twenty years now and have always been very happy with their performance.

Tried using 2 to increase ram to 8gb but my Toshiba laptop would not work. doubt it is a Micron issue since I bought 2 from Toshiba and they would not work in any combination. At least, I got one of these to work in my laptop to get 6gb total.

Crucial is my only source for memory chips
I was running Windows 7 64 bit with only 2 Gigs of memory. It would not even get Windows Updates without slowing down to a crawl. Ordered chips from Crucial and 1. they showed up quickly, 2. installation was a snap, and 3. the chips solved the problem and made the machine run better then ever before. I will not even consider buying memory chips anywhere else. Thank You!

A few weeks after Crucial RAM installation, my PC started to shutdown on its own with error message of memory leak, multiple times a day. Put the original RAM back in, the machines work normally. Returned the RAM. Since it worked fine for a few weeks, I suppose it went bad.

A terrible experience, and still not done
I got these upgrade memory units because I thought they would cause my laptop to run faster. One failed right away. The second seemed to work, but within a week caused many problems that went away when I put the old memory back. I sent them back under RMA many days ago, no sign of a replacement or a refund.

I upgraded my HP Win 7 laptop from 4GB and 8GB and it made an amazing improvement in overall performance. I run photo editing software and between that and my web browser the machine was using up that 4GB pretty fast, leaving me with a sluggish experience. I should have upgraded earlier.

I could tell from the constantly glowing hard drive light that my laptop was spending more time using the swap file than it was processing. The system scan tool quickly identified the proper memory and the installation couldn't have been easier. Taking the memory from 4GB to 8GB made a HUGE difference and I think I'll be able to get many more years of use out of this computer.

I upgraded to Windows 10 and was having trouble with the 4 gig my laptop had pre-installed so I decided to upgrade. Not only is this I higher speed and specs than the original, but it was much cheaper than the stock ram at all the major retailer sites. I got it fast and popped it in and was up and running in a couple of minutes.

I initially installed the memory and my computer would not re-boot, I started an online chat session with support and soon after exchanging info , they opened a ticket and gave me a number to call a real person. That support rep walked me thru , testing each memory module to see if either had an issue. he then walked me thru BIOS change and we got the new memory working within 15 minutes of my initial call, for a relative hardware novice , this was GREAT SUPPORT

The right product, easy
It was the right memory - I LOVE Crucial's tools to identify the right product - and it worked great. But for those like me with an ASUS N53S - the slots to plug in the memory are cunningly hidden under the existing two memory sticks. Not underneath the metal floor, but simply stacked 2 sticks high on top of the floor. Push at the sides a bit and you'll see. The memory flips up at an angle and voila, you can slide another stick under the first.

I have a HP laptop that has an i5. I use it to run my business; Excel, Word, mail, etc. I always have multiple programs open and it it took some time to open and switch between programs, so I decided to upgrade to an SSD drive. That helped, some. So the I decided to upgrade to 8 gb RAM from 4 gb, and WOW, what an improvement. Well worth doing it - I wish I would have done it sooner.

This doubled the RAM in my computer and is probably the most worthwhile purchase I've made for my computer in a long time. If performance can be measured in the reduction in fan sound while opening iTunes, this changed the decibel level from standing behind a 747 at full throttle on the runway to sitting inside a 787 at cruising speed. Usage wise, things seem to load faster and run better. I just wish my computer would have allowed a higher max.

Great upgrade for my old HP Laptop
This RAM upgrade really did improve my laptop performance. I've had my laptop for over 6 years and it has been showing signs of its age with more recent games and applications. The upgrade of the RAM has realy opened up the speed and accessibilty of my applications. The only downside was that my computer had to restart and crash a couple times before it became stable - which was likely due to the age of my laptop.

Memory addition to laptop computer
I was given chat help at the site to choose the right ram chip to increase memory in my aging laptop computer. I installed the 4 GB SDRAM chip with some help from a YouTube post. The computer booted up just fine and the extra memory is in use. Very pleased with the result. My computer works noticeably faster. Highly recommend this vendor for tech items.

Product is very useful in speeding up the performance of an older system. Highly recommend using the memory scanner on all your system. The only downside is that it may not work on other systems that is 12 years or older

Not compatible with Sony Vaio VPCY11S1E
Unfortunately, this product seems to be incompatible with my Sony Vaio VPCY11S1E despite recommended as compatible by Crucial's website. A huge amount of wasted time in order to make it work with no result.

This was my second purchase. Was very happy with this purchase and really liked the online tool that made sure I was purchasing the correct Memory Moduals
Have even recommended to a relative who is upgrading an old Laptop. A Plus.

Worked perfectly
I found a YouTube video showing exactly what to do and the process was very easy. The only tool needed was a small Phillips screwdriver to open the case of the laptop and get access to the socket. On my Lenovo L530, the empty socket was under the keyboard - not so obvious! The keyboard was only held by a few screws though.

I would definitely buy the product again.
Laptop for general use now with extra RAM. Can't fault the RAM, been using it for sometime now & working fine no problems was very easy to fit. Made the laptop as good as new after being frustratingly slow.

Didn't work. I think the problem lies with the computer.
Didn't work. I think the problem lies witht the computer and not the memory card. My problem is, I'm stuck with a card I can't use and can't return. I got this for my father-in-law's computer and it took a while to get it to him. So, it's beyond the time for return. Oh well... I would still purchase from Crucial. I don't think this was the fault of the product.
