Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well but installation was TRICKY!It took three attempts for Acronis to clone my 500GB SSD to the new 1TB SSD which I purchased. It kept failing. Tips from the user forum suggested that I install the NEW drive and try to boot from the OLD drive via USB. BIG MISTAKE! BIOS settings (if that's what they're even called anymore?) for many configurations will prevent boot from USB as an 'unauthorized' boot attempt. Anyway, trying to do this didn't work and MANGLED my OS so that it needed to be REPAIRED when I reseated it into the motherboard. I was holding my breath! Fortunately the OS booted properly to Windows after the repair. In desperation, I then tried the Acronis clone operation again and - third time was the charm! What should have worked smoothly to begin with, worked on the third time and resulted in the OLD SSD being properly cloned to the NEW. I inserted the NEW SSD into the motherboard and since then everything is the same as it's always been except I have 500GB to play with for a another few years! :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from if i had the funds i would buy 3 moreI replaced my 128 gb with the 1tb works great and the software that Crucial recommended worked flawlessly. If i had the funds i would buy 3 if not 4 more and make my laptop a full SSD computer with more than engough memory.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Upgrade DriveThis was the perfect upgrade for the 128GB M.2 drive in my wife's laptop that she was given as a gift. The small 128GB drive would have meant either using an external hard drive or cloud based drive which neither were desired options for her.So replacing the smaller drive with the much larger 1TB drive was our choice. Cloning the drive was simple using the Acronis software, although I did have to use an external USB drive enclosure to temporarily mount the new drive for cloning since there was only a single M.2 slot on the motherboard. The new drive works flawlessly and she can now add all of her documents, music and pictures without having to worry about about running out of storage space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very please with the product and CrucialI needed to have more on-board storage to house my photo's. I was looking for a cost effective upgrade to the 256 GB M.2 drive that was shipped with my Dell. Crucial came through with the MX500 1 TB SSD.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Failed after 8 months of useThe drive worked fine until it randomly failed after only 8 months of use. A drive, SSD or HDD, is expected to have a much longer lifespan than that. This was installed in my laptop machine that I used as a personal machine.
