For those wanting a simple way to capture moments with family, friends and more, the slim, stylish PowerShot ELPH 180 camera has easy-to-use features to help create photos that are as stunning as you want. The 8x optical zoom lets you get close to the action, while the 20.0 Megapixel CCD sensor with DIGIC 4+ image processor help produce vibrant, clear images to share or print. Take more than just still images, with the ability to record movies at 720p HD. For added convenience, Smart AUTO figures out suitable settings for what you're photographing so you don't have to worry about finding a picture mode yourself. To help reduce the effects of camera shake, Digital IS helps keep blur to a minimum. On top of that, the Auto Zoom feature can automatically close in on your subject and keep it in focus for easy shooting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's alright...I just needed a camera that I can take with me to an upcoming school trip so I bought the cheapest one I could find and well...Of course, cheap stuff isn't very great. The quality isn't crisp. It's "noisy" (if that's the word like what an iPod or the camera of an older device produces, maybe worse, sadly. Sometimes it's really hard to focus as well, for me especially since my hands are quite shaky at times. However, I kinda do like the "staticky" effect the camera makes, it might add some sort of aesthetic, early-2000s feel to the image??? I guess you just have to be creative and try to make use of what the camera offers to be satisfied. The camera isn't great, but it's not TOO bad either. I do recommend it if you want to save money, want to be a hobbyist, or are a nostalgia-freak like me or whatever, but it's not really good enough to be used for professional photography or to take high-class, 69 million dollar shots of famous people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Choice on Compact Camera.I already had an older Powershot camera that was dropped and stopped working. The mode knob it had on top was eliminated and substituted by the Auto button. On 90 % of the cases you will only want to turn off flash or choose picture size. But auto mode can be changed to P and manually settings enteted. Yes. It can be manually configured. Some complain of focus problems. But I'm sure they are trying to shoot a zoom photo too close. The macro mode enters automatically but only with lens fully retracted. One awkward thing is that the older similar battery and charger from cannon do not match the pins! Why do the companies do that? It comes only with wrist strap battery and wall charger. No usb cable. It does not charge on usb only on charger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the PriceBought this for work, where I travel a lot. It has proven to be pretty durable, and takes decent photos. Keep in mind, you will not be getting a professional camera at this price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall, great!I received this camera as a gift for my birthday and I am very satisfied with it overall. The pictures turn out clear and it is very easy to use. I am a little sad that the user doesn't have the option of changing the "shot" settings and it is only done automatically. Also, the fact that it doesn't include an USB cable and SD card is a little disappointing. Otherwise, it is a very basic and simple camera, perfect for missionaries!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Autofocus doesn't work!I bought this camera this summer for a family get-together. (I didn't want to lug my SLR and I forgot to take my Powershot A3000IS, so I bought this at my destination.) This camera takes one or two pictures, but then autofocus won't work unless I turn the camera off and then back on between each picture. It is a REAL pain to use. I haven't used it since that trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, fits in pocketI used it for snapshots over the holidays, & found it could do most things, outdoors and in. Does not need flash inside. Still working on how to get to sport setting for stopping action.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst camera I have ever ownedI bought this to replace an older model of the Canon ELPH which worked very well for me. This new one, however, seems very cheaply made, with very flimsy controls. The WORST THING about it, however, is that there does not appear to be any way to download picture from the camera directly into a computer! How could Canon even think that this was a good idea?
