Canon PIXMA PRO-10 - printer - color - ink-jet is rated 3.59 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Printer/Great price right now This is printer has a large footprint, the setup time is a little on the slow side. Be sure to calibrate your monitor, the results are outstanding. My prints look like they came from a pro lab. Ink usage seems normal just print one picture a week and there seems to be no cleaning cycle that wastes ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding We have had the Pro-10 for 8 months. The print results are outstanding in all sizes, especially 8x10 & 11x13 where you will really discern the quality. The comments about lack of speed are unwarranted as the print quality is worth a little extra time to achieve. We use Mac Pro laptops and wireless and have had zero problems. This printer produces professional quality prints that won't disappoint! We have done some 11x13 matte that were "museum" mounted in frames that are easily top gallery display quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant Results The first b/w 13x19 prints I made with the Pro-10 are stunning! They brought compliments from some other very accomplished photographers at a recent display of work. I may be tempted to shut down my wet darkroom if I continue to get this kind of result. The Pro-10 was an upgrade from a much older 13x19 printer of another make that couldn't come near the b/w results of the Canon Pro-10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gallery quality prints I have this printer for about two weeks. It has performed Great in the print quality is outstanding. Compared to my old Pro 9000 the contrasts, Color corrections and depth of color are absolutely superb. As a matter of fact after printing a few Photos I have shared with the professional printing company they made the comment well I guess I won’t be seeing you much anymore. The software application for printing namely, print studio Pro for fine-tuning your photos prior to printing is both amazing and comprehensive. Print studio Pro is much more comprehensive than the old software easy photo print EX then I used with my pro 9000. Hello I am giving this printer and a five star rating I think it’s important to mention the following caveat. I am using a 27inch iMac and IOS software along with a wireless mouse. Upon trying to initiate and work with print studio Pro in the print parameters. Upon calling Canon technical support the two times I called they could not address the issue. The third call to Canada to support Perez provided a result of the issue which was the inability of a wireless mouse to interface with print studio Pro and its options. After using my Wacom tablet and stylus as a tool to interface with print studio pro all functions to studio were active. So if there’re any users of the Canon Pro 10 and they’re having difficulty with this you might try to use a wired mouse. The other Factor I might make note of is the Canon support. In my contacting can support multiple times I have found them to be accommodating, knowledgeable and polite. The other Factor which I feel is important is the technical support is based in the USA, which , in my case, provides dialogue that is easier to understand. Based on the technical support I’ve received the product quality an inherent longevity this printer is highly recommended as a good value and wise investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst Purchase Ever I have tried to use this printer with an iMac over wireless. A single A4 print takes around half an hour. And that's when it works. Numerous times it just stops half way through the print and spits out a half printed page. When it does manage to print a full page there are nasty black lines across the page. Will be sending this back. I'm guessing I've either got a dud one or there is a problem with using this printer with a Mac. Either way, when you spend this sort of money you don't expect these sorts of issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent choice We are running WIn 7 Home, connecting to the printer via wireless router. 2 PCs and 2 printers on that network (also 2 Kindles?). My wife is a semi-pro photographer; we bought this machine in February 2014 to save money printing her work. Setup on our network was very easy. The machine instructions are clear and specific. We have printed many, many 4 x 6's, multiple 5 x 7's, several letter sized, and a handful of 13 x 19's, and have only needed to replace the CO and Gray carts; the replacement tanks are not expensive. The unit is quiet, and virtually vibration-free. We do not power it off between uses. This machine does require a large amount of desktop real estate, and we definitely recommend a sturdy base on which to place it. Our best advice for using this machine is to read the manual, and use the bookmark feature (not sure if that's what it's called) to quickly access pages/topics of interest. We have not used Canon support for this machine, but did so for our MX870; the support was courteous and knowledgable, topnotch. We would definitely purchase this unit again, and absolutely recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broke in 90 days I bought this printer on December 20, 2015. I'm a high school art teacher and do lots of forms, tickets, bulletin boards. So I really need a "good" quality large format printer. Got a few projects with good print results out of it. Will not recognize borderless printing for plain paper. Closest setting will be matte photo paper (uses to much ink). The previous two Pixma Pro-9000 printers worked fine until the printer heads somehow out (stopped printing, barely three years old). Was hesitant about buying the Pixma Pro-10 printer and now have to send it in for service already because the printer is not recognizing two different new print cartridges (order ink in bulk, won't recognize either one of a particular color). For a "commercial" printer can't seem to handle the use. To difficult to clean nor is there any info what to do if two deep cleanings don't work except to send it in for service. Now I have to wait 10-15 days to get the printer back. At one time I had no trouble with Canon products. Can't say that any more. For the price I expected the printers to last longer (more than three years).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It buzzes, it whirrs, it works. This printer scared me the first few times I used it. It is a living, breathing creature that makes spontaneous noises that you have no control over. It clicks, it taps, it whirrs. Once you accept that, you will likely love this printer. I've read many of the other reviews about clogged nozzles, jamming errors, alignment problems, etc. I bought this printer USED, have shipped it intercontinentally for moves, and have let it sit unused for months on end. It still works flawlessly, years later. Maybe I'm just lucky. But, it is what it is. This is a fantastic printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed in this printer. After purchasing this printer I found out that you cannot print on 11x14 photo paper. I have tried to find a work around but so far cannot. Supposedly the company thinks 11x14 is a non-standard size. Now I am stuck with a bunch of 11x14 paper and have to print on 11x17 and trim it each time. Unbelievable. !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nightmare I bought this printer May of 2017. It became non-functional January of 2018, basically it looked like the head was clogged and all the attempts at cleaning (and lots of expensive ink failed. I contacted customer support and they authorized a new print head (to be fair they did send me replacement ink) , however, they were back orded and I didn't recieve one for over two months. When it finially arrived, it didn't fix the problem. Support authorized a replacement printer which I received May of 2018 (almost 5 months without a functional printer). As of now that printer is non-functional, it again appears as though the head is clogged and again after cleaning attempts and more expensive ink I contacted customer support who tried to help (more head cleaning suggestions) but told me my replacement printer was no longer in warranty, ( the original printer warranty had expired). So after 3 more cleaning attempts and more wasted ink, I have a boat anchor sitting in my basement to be added to the junk pile. I'm out of ink and patience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from serious B&W This printer replaces an older-model, heavily-used-but-too-long-stored printer of the same size and price from another company. The defunct printer made great prints, especially B&W, but it became unreliable and eventually a boat anchor. My Pro-10 makes absolutely exquisite prints. I've made 3 sets of 12 letter sized B&W prints for my very-critical print exchanges. Yesterday I made 4 A3+ prints (13X22) Canon Matte and Fiber with no glitches or hangups...they perfectly matched my letter-size test prints. I printed from the most common professional application using Canon's obscurely-located printer-driver ( my defunct printer's "advanced black and white" driver was easier to find but they work the same way) to tone the prints a distinct-but-subtle brown or sepia. These prints look like they were made on a warm-toned portrait paper than they look like antiques...unless they're printers themselves, viewers rarely notice the tone except to say they like the prints. I've not tested this but I suspect the printer is an order of magnitude faster with A3+ if you use the default border width (about 2" on A3) than if you define your own. I've not timed but yesterday's A3 took less than 5 minutes each. I like Pro-10's ink tank capacity...I can afford to replace a set occasionally, which would be a lot harder with Pro-1's larger capacity. I'm on my first replacement set...don't know whether the tanks that came with the printer were the same size as the replacements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Your'e going to put my printshop out of business? I seen this printer at Christmas time - it was on sale ... with the rebate. That's a deal I could not pass up and have not regretted it since! The guy behind the photo print counter said.. you're going to put me out of business. lol A great printer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Color is AWESOME ! I purchased the PRO-10 several months ago. I printed a couple small photos once I set it up and then it has sat for a few months. Once I powered on the printer and let it warm up for a couple minutes, I printed 1/2 dozen 5 X 7 prints which look AWESOME. I did not have the clogged head as some experienced and getting prints the first time from 2 different photo software programs wasn't hard to do. I take pride in my photos and take multiple photos of the same subject to ensure I get a photo worthy of printing. Doing an update or two to the printer's setup is no big deal to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this printer! Bought the Pixma Pro 10 right before Christmas. I have wanted one for 3 years and finally decided to Go for it. It was easy to set up and load the ink cartridges. Only took a few minutes for it to go through the setup procedure. I have a lot of high quality pics that I have taken with my 5D markii, and as soon as it was ready I started printing. Totally amazed at the print quality! I was so blown away I ended up printing 7 13x19, And 14 8/12x11 prints. They all printed in framing quality. I just cant say enough about this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should purchased long age I have had my PRO 10 now for 3 months. I am telling you I have spent more than a grand on nickel and dime color printers over the years. I finally said enough already and purchased the PRO 10. Wow ... as long as you are using quality paper to print on you are fine. This printer does not like cheap photo paper. Even my wife is impressed with the quality and she always finds fault in everything, especially, me. Get one and become a grown man ... or woman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer Upgrade Since I purchased the Pixma Pro 10 I have printed over 25 8 X10's, several 5X7's and 6X4's including one 13 X19. The printer is doing a great job. Very impressive results in detail, color, and saturation. I realize the ink can run up the cost however if I had used my ole printer I know I would have sent more on ink. The only negative I can find with the printer is documents. This is a photo printer and documents are printed very slow. You can overcome this by selecting paper output and the printer does well. Still going through the learning curve so as time moves forward hope to work out all of these little details This is my first Canon Product and I have to say I am very pleased. One final note Canon's technical support have been great. All questions and concerns were handled completely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Prints and Trouble Free - Until Now I switched from Printer Vendor E. Their unit was a huge ink hog and started having output problems that couldn't be fixed. The Pro-10 produces great prints on various papers. The printer has been reliable and supply costs have been reasonable - until now. It was powered off and not used for about 3 weeks. Printing a small job for a customer I discovered bad output. A nozzle check revealed severe banding on Photo Black. Two regular cleanings and two deep cleanings did not fix the problem. This wasted half of my ink, which is a significant expense for a small business. The warranty expired 3 months ago so repair will be expensive if it comes to that. This is a low volume printer for me and is just a little over one year old. I expected better reliability for my use case. I recommend the printer with reservation. Like I said the output is fantastic. But be prepared to waste some ink and make sure you have another printer available if you run a business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More trouble than it's worth. Despite getting a great deal on this printer, it has NOT been worth it. The software on the included disc was already outdated. Once I realized what was wrong, I had to search the web for a newer version. The new version still didn't install correctly, and is not compatible with Adobe software on a Mac. The print process either errors out or results in wildly distorted images. Waste of money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Printer Have had the Pro-10 for nearly two months--printing each day. Generates gallery quality images. The black and white images printed on Canon's Pro Luster photo paper are astonishing, especially given the modest outlay for the printer. A good purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality I purchased this about two years ago. I absolutely love the quality of large prints, however, if not used routinely, the print head will dry up. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some regrets I like having wireless capability, and the image quality is very good. However, this printer (and I have sought help on the web, with no success) is *incredibly* slow; it is also an ink-hog of the worst order. Try to change an ink cartridge: eventually the ink carrier emerges. When the lid is closed and the carrier returns to its lair, the printer goes through an excruciating preparatory routine. In almost all respects, this is a very large step backward from my Pro-9000, which I miss. Perhaps I'll find a solution; perhaps I need to run a USB cable to the printer (in which case its wifi capability is moot, since apparently one cannot have it hard-wired and wireless simultaneously). But it's not good enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Poor Performance - Not Ready for Prime Time I have had this printer for 3 years now and can in all honesty say that it is without doubt the most unreliable, and most ink-expensive, and therefore most frustrating printer that I have ever owned (and I have owned quite a few). It is very user un-friendly, very difficult to troubleshoot, very slow and can never be counted on to perform as requested without a great deal of intervention. I am constantly having to deal with flashing lights indicating some error or issue. I would expect FAR, FAR better from a printer that cost this much to buy and operate. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Print head problems Just a few notes for those who have problems with the print heads. . I have been a canon user for decades. They are usually a great printer and are the most user friendly. Sadly Canon and other MFgs. quit making rear paper feeders for a few years but there is a ned for more of them. Any printer has print head problems as the ink drys and clogs within the nozzels. Canon is one of the few mfgs that have replaceable print heads. (Which is good,) However, before you replace an expensive print head remove it and clean both sides with warm water and soap (wash and rinse until no ink color runs out from any position . ( Yes ....you can wash electronic devices with plain soap and water...BUT THEY HAVE TO BE COMPLETLY DRY BEFORE USING THEM .... but don't bother using any chemicals as they can ruin components or leave conductive residues .. plain water is your best cleaner as one company I worked for found out after many experiments with many other chemicals and ultrasound ...) I have used soap and water to clean hundreds of electronic devices and recently cleaned a print head on an old PIXMA MX860 which is no longer made and parts are unavailable. ,,,, just make sure you rinse off any residue with plain water and dry them very well by gently blowing out any water and not using them for days so they can dry thoroughly . Do not use a hair dryer to dry them as the air is TOO HOT and can damage some things. .. and you can also set them in direct sunlight for a hour or so to help them to dry . When you deep clean the heads a pad soaks up the ink and gets saturated over time and no longer works and after a while cannot clean dried clogged jets. and just ends up just soaking up the ink from your ink tanks. Unfortunately, the pad is hard to get to and hard to replace , and may not be available from canon. Usually my canon printers need repaired not long after canon no longer makes that model and no parts are available. Authorized repair shops in my area also do not carry any parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Print at home with Pro lab results I am a working 20 year+ professional portrait photographer. I use ProDPi for the bulk of my printing needs. I wanted to be able to print some smaller jobs from my home office. I purchased the Pro-10 off of craigslist for 200.00 almost new and the original owner had printed a few images. I had zero problems setting it up. Downloaded a few drivers for my Mac and had it up and running quickly. It produces lab quality images. However, it is slow. It took almost 3 hours to print 40 8x10 composite images. It is an ink hog. I have used 3 full sets+ of ink in six months. Chrome Optimizer seems to go the quickest so i have to always have a few extra tanks on hand. It is a pro printer so only pro camera shops carry the ink. Big Box Office stores do not stock this ink. This is hassle for me because the closest retailer is over an hour away. It uses a ton of ink on start up to prime the heads, so i try to print something every week just to keep it the jets from getting clogged with dried ink. The ink is not cheap, but does deliver the archival quality that I need. It does need some baby sitting while doing a job. It does stop from time to time during a large print job due to ink tanks needing to be replaced. The warning indicators flash a series of flashes to indicate its needs. I just open a Canon knowledge page for the code warning meanings, the fix is always something simple. It does require a certain amount of patience (photographer have to a patient bunch anyway). I print up to 11x14's on it and it always deliver a very high quality print, just don't be in a hurry and have plenty of extra ink on hand ( I have at two full sets to avoid driving or waiting on amazon. I would buy Canon anytime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow terrible printer This thing is a terrible product. I am so amazed by most of Canon's products, but I recommend you get the Epson instead! Confusing overcomplicated software. Difficult and flawed installation process. Ink hungry. And after dealing with all of that, my printer turned out to be a lemon! Enough time had passed I could no longer return it, so I ate the price of the printer, extra ink, and paper!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from must change ink every time you print! This printer makes beautiful prints but I swear I must change one or more cartridges every single time I print, and I print very little. It is very frustrating!!!! Especially because it only notifies you of one at a time, not all at once. So it takes 30 minutes to change three cartridges one at a time with long machinations between each cartridge. Please fix this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great printer I bought this printer, i believe abput 4 years ago. Have never had a problem printing. I calibrated my computer, and my images print exactly as i see them on screen. But as remembering what the scene actually was. The whole key for savings on ink is to do a nozzle check every 45 hrs. If you go longer you will use a bit more ink. Sure if you look at the difference between the 10 and the 1000. The inks on the 1000 are larger but it has been more cost effective with the pro 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Photo Printer I bought my pro-10 about a month ago and have been trying it with all kinds of different papers. I am getting some great results. I am very impressed with the quality prints this thing is producing. I was on the fence about buying my own printer vs going through a lab. I have not regretted the purchase for a second. I recommend this printer and can also recommend Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique paper for stunning results. Other great options are Red River soft gloss rag and polar matte. If you are looking for cheaper paper, the Canon Luster that comes with the printer is not bad either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer I bought this printer 10 years ago and I am still in love with it My printed photographs are beautiful, whether color or B&W (my favorite. Prints are true to the image with the help of custom profiles (monitor and printer). In almost 11 years my printer has never failed me, needed adjustments or repairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It could be so great - If only I could set it up Want to use this printer with wired Ethernet? Guess what - THERE'S NO OPTION for that. OK so maybe we can use it over wifi but first you have to guess the Administrator password. I read somewhere that I should reset network to defaults and who knows if it worked - I held the cancel button down and counted nine flashes of the power button. I then tried five different options. "Canon" "canon" "CANON" my serial number in lower case and finally my serial number in upper case. Maybe they have some kind of tech support but I can't find any

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing functionality & Superior Results! I’ve had this Pixma Pro-10 printer for about 8 months and being astute with the finite details, I’m exceedingly delighted! With the Canon name on it I shouldn’t be surprised. My photos were perfect and I’ve hung several in my house!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Guzzles ink! It has me replace the ink when the cartridge is still half full and the ink is very expensive!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money Pit Buy this printer if you enjoy throwing your money out the window - if you let it sit even for a very very short time it's the same old story - ink vanishes, banding occurs. Then Canon will give you some cookie cutter "help" about the print head being a sensitive spazy cousin that never does what it should. Better off outsourcing your prints or buying a throw away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outdated driver I love the printer. However, lost time, ink and paper because of inability to set even margins in different size papers, inability to consistently set custom paper sizes and margins. I am ready to switch to Epsons. Same issue with Dx0, Luminar 4, Luminar Ai, ON1 Raw, Affinity. I have stopped using PS and LR; similar issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best printer for the “Home Based Pro” Been a pro photog for over 40yrs (during my time off...I was a police officer working shifts so that made working photo jobs easy. This Pro 10 is by far the best printer I have owned. Gallery quality colour and B&W prints pretty much out of the box. My wife and I are retired now and we spend from May to October at our trailer campsite. We come home for a few days about ever 6wks or so. During that time, the printer is off and not printing. If this was an Epson, i would have had to trash it because of major clogs. But the Pro 10; never a clog and printed a perfect test print every time we came home. For me, that is this printer’s strongest attribute. It produces amazing prints, either through Photoshop or the printer’s driver. I am absolutely satisfied with this printer. The wi-fi connectivity adds to it’s versatility.
