Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great extender for my needsOutstanding images with this in conjunction with my 300mmF2.8L. Frustrating that it does not work with the 100-400 F4.5L ll USM, while it did work with the original version of this lens, (although this was not consistent).I also own the 1.4x extender. Curious that it works with all of the above mentioned lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb dealI wanted to expand the range of my EF 100-400L lens and this teleconverter (2x III fit the bill. I am using both on the Canon EOS R with a control ring adapter and they both work very well with this setup. Focusing is quick. At the outer limit (800mm) I am getting the shots I was looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceede my ExpectationsI acquired this extender to add length to my new 100-400mm L MII lens. I use it on my 7D. I knew from reading my manuals that AF is not possible so that is not an issue as I educated myself in this regard. But what images, I really cannot find fault with the image quality of this extender. It is like the lens and extender were designed for each other. Very sharp. Now obviously on very distant shots there is degradation but again I know this is due more to atmospherics than the lens. On shots within 1/2 mile absolutely incredible I recommend this extender for those who understand the AF limitations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent IQ.I bought this adapter to use with my 300mm f/2.8 II IS lens on a 5DSR. I was a bit concerned because I needed a lens that would have as good or better image quality than my Canon 500mm f/4L IS yet offer the ease of handheld use as does my 100-400 II. I have been quite happy with the results, this combination clearly is sharper than my 500mm f/4 and is easily used handheld. At 300mm the f/2.8 would not be long enough for what I mostly use it for which is birding, with the 2X extender the resulting 600mm f/5.6 lens is not only easy to use but it is sharp as a tack. Had I been able to afford the 600mm f/4 that is probably the route I would have taken but that was just not in the cards for me. The focus system does not seem to suffer with the extender, I am quite happy and feel that the extender was necessary for the photography I do and have been quite pleased with the performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great AccessoryOnly used the 2X teleconverter once with my new 70-300mm; I'm still getting used to it. The few picture I have taken look great. I do recommend a tripod or monopod to help steady the camera.
