LOVE the large ink cartridges. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Deducted one star because the envelope feeder is not consistently correct. (2 envelopes at once; feeds on a slant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Home/Office Machine I needed a printer that would print 11 x 17 for my home office. I read a lot of reviews on this machine and others before making my purchase. I am very happy with this machine. I've had it in use for a month now. Fairly easy to set up. I had read some complaints about the touchscreen, but I have no issues with it. Actually, I like how it can stay in the flat position or rotate upward to align with my standing view. I keep ledger paper in bottom tray, letter in upper tray, and legal in the bypass tray. Just today, I printed from my iPhone and it worked flawlessly. I'm anxious to see how my ink consumption goes, but so far, much better than my laser printer. I did keep my laser printer on the network for printing business letters, as I think they look more professional than inkjet. I do use this machine to scan as well. It is much faster and easier to use than my former single-function scanner. Last, but certainly not least, is the double side printing function. I've never had this before and it is quite handy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and efficient I was a bit hesitant to spend a lot of money on a printer. I had rad many good reviews on Brother and decided to give it a go. Setup was very easy to follow by using the suggested videos. On my first usage, I was impressed. This machine is a keeper! I printed a 400 page book in a very short time and each page was perfect. No blurring or smearing. It is reasonably quiet. Connecting to my devices was easy too! I can print from my tablets, laptops, and phones with no lag time. It was definitely worth the money.

I purchased this model MFC-J5945DW recently in May 2020. I wanted a newer model of what I had and this is it! I have only had it in use since May 7, 2020 but must review it since I am so please with this printer. I call it my Big Brother because its so superior in performance to my older model in size and performance. Fast and quiet no matter what I'm doing, scanning, copying, printing. Especially like the heavy duty Multi Purpose Tray since I use it for printing addresses and stuff on odd sized previously printed flyers & cards. The fact that I can customize the size of the paper is a plus for me any day! It was easy to setup a wireless connection on my home network and all my devices, PC, mobile & phone print directly to this printer with ease. I really love the large capacity INKvestment Tank. It will be sometime before I need replacement Brother Ink Cartridges. All-thought it is a heavy and large printer, it is well built and worth it for me in my Home Office that I use nearly everyday. Every feature is just perfect for any Home Office and is worth the price for a machine that will last a long time and give you a return on your investment. Thanks Brother for making my printing so much better that it already was! : :)

The # of pages of ink left on each cartridge is a helpful feature. 3 paper trays is very nice since we use legal paper often and don't have to change paper in the tray to print on legal. Price is fair and we have had zero problems setting up or printing/copying/scanning since we got the printer about 30 days ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All the specific features I wanted I have had this all-in-one for almost three weeks. I am very happy with it. I am a one person office and the wireless and "other device" features are not important to me. I have a laser printer, so this is used for copying, scanning, and other than final printing (although final documents come out looking very good). My primary requirement was two trays. Noise has been mentioned in other reviews, but it is at my elbow and I have no complaint about noise. This is a move from Epson printers (I went through 5 in the last 5 years). The cost of this printer is 50% more than the Epson printers I had, and feels much more solid. I am anticipating better quality and longer life with this Brother printer. I am receiving good value for my money, although I paid 50% more than the numerous Epson printers. So far, it is worth it.

Ink cartridges are higher $$ than last Brother MFC but looks like the ink lasts longer than other machine so cost is likely the same to operate. No complaints after two months of daily use and hundreds of pages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall, an excellent machine Setup was easy and the cartridges do have a full portion of ink---unlike some other printer makers with their ten pages-and-done ink supplies. The printer is large but not THAT large. It easily fits on the corner of my small desk. The two drawers are excellent for using different qualitites or types of paper and having a rear tray for special jobs provides efficiency and value for the user. Picture printing quality is excellent with two different settings, one for simple printing and another if you have serious needs. I highly recommend this unit and the price is very competitive. I would give it 5 stars but it has one odd glitch that might be my fault but it refuses to print from the rear tray at times. If I can figure out what's causing that I'll edit this riview and give it 5 stars.

Am an old lady who is not tech savvy so I don't use all the many features of this printer, but the ones I do use are super. Have always had HP printers. They cannot compare to this one in any way shape or form. Have a 2 month old HP sitting in my garage because they won't help me fix the problems I had w/it. If I ever need another printer it will be a Brother.

I have hand this printer since July 2019 and loved it, but the latest update has prevented some of the paper capabilities from working. According to the manual, tray 1 and 2 with print the same size papers, but now tray 1 does not give me the option of selecting all of them. There is only an option for selecting glossy photo paper or Brother B71 paper. Before the update, it was B70, B71 and other photo paper. According to conversation with Brother customer service there will not be an option added in the future to print on any other photo paper other than glossy or Brother B71. Unless this is corrected on future updates, basically I wasted my money to use this as a photo printed as I prefer to use a mat finish for photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really like this All-In-! printer I've used HP and Epson All-in-1 printers for years. Sadly, I've run into issues with their solutions that made using them any longer problematic. With the MFC-J5945DW, it's been great! The only issue I've run into has been trying to get it to automatically accept faxes. The printer software only allows 4 rings before the fax will answer. I need it to support 6-7 rings because anything less interferes with my answering machine. As such, I had to default incoming faxes to manual mode. Even with that limitation, I love this printer.

Only complaint was that first machine had a defective automatic document feed, but Brother replaced the machine right away. Great customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feature rich printer I have been using Canon printers in my home office for years, but the durability and quality has steadily decreased. When my most recent printer died, I did a lot of research of other brands for product quality, print quality and features. Hardest evaluation was checking print quality because big box stores don’t have the shelf space to showcase every printer. Feature wise, the MFC-J5945DW is the absolute winner with borderless printing, duplex/single-pass scanning and faxing, oversized paper handling and multiple paper trays. After a lot of searching, I located a store with an in-service demo printer. Color and black printing is sharp and crisp, even on standard copy machine paper, and is exceptional on higher quality paper. The only negative is the cost of ink refill tanks, and the lack of user-refillable tanks which are available for most of the competitive printers. The features of this printer won over the ink refill shortfall.

It saves paper and creates an easy way to handle data and records. My paper and ink costs have improved compared to previous printers I have bought in the past. I love the machine and Brother support has been outstanding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's been a workhorse so far Bought it because it will feed and print 11x17. It prints great, at a decent speed. I use it for my home office and have been very pleased with its performance. I would give five stars, except for the following: I had a problem with it going offline until I found a tip that said give it a dedicated IP on my router. Since doing that, the offline problem went away. But still, why doesn't DHCP work? Second issue, to load a tray with 11x17, you have to extend the tray and sticks out from the front of the printer about 6 inches. Not a killer problem, but this was not made clear in the information provided when I was researching the printer. Last reason for not giving the fifth star is, I've only had it a few months. No reason so far to believe it's not going to last and give good service, but only time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Desired enhancements now I work from home This is my second Brother MFC printer. The MFC-4620DW went off to college, it is still a workhorse after six years. That printer replaced a competitor's product that stopped printing blue and would not accept the company provided remanufactured ink cartridges. This much faster. I work from home and needed the dual-sided copy and scan. two paper trays means draft paper in one and bright paper in the other. It is nice having a "year's worth of ink". A PLUS were the drivers for Linux since I use several different OSs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hunk of junk Where to begin with the problems. It is slow to print, it won't take paper from tray 1 only from tray 2. When the papers come out it makes a huge jumbled mess. Have to stand there and make sure they don't get out of order. Now I am faced with it not accepting the brand new ink. It keeps telling me to install it when it is already there. Hated it since day one and don't like it any better today. :( 12/10 would not recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poorly Designed Printer Bought this printer about a year ago and continue to be frustrated by the poor design of the printer. When printing multiple pages which is most of the time, the sheets do not drop far enough and the result is everything ending up mixed up instead of being in order. The printer ends up shuffling the pile of sheets because the previous one printed do not drop far enough to allow the next to go on top of the pile. I am not talking a huge number of pages, this will happen with 3 or 4 sheets being printed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied The set up was virtually plug and play. Plugged it in, inserted the ink cartridges, connected it to the wireless network. Done. It's only been a week so far but it's working much nicer than our previous Epson WF (using a chip on the ink to make sure you only buy their tiny cartridges). I hope the ink is true as advertised and lasts close to the expected number of pages. And hopefully the cartridges are refillable. Although the replacement cost is bearable if they truly last as advertized.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and Full of Options The MFC-J5945DW is incredibly fast and gives you crisp, clear printouts. The paper trays and ink are very accessible and easy to load. The rear paper feed is versatile for envelopes and such, however, the menus don't always provide enough information to select the proper paper or envelope size. The only criticism I would have is using the FAX feature and figuring out the sequence of sending and receiving via the menus and front panel are confusing at first. Make sure you download ALL the software during installation.

It`s my personal motto, so it would make sense that the equipment I appreciate most are those that perform to task in a quality manner. This printer does just that. I`ve been using a different printer for a while now, and though I work from home, I do not work from just my office, I move throughout both floors, working in various rooms, and I was forever having to reconnect with the other printer. This new Brother printer has not dropped yet. The quality of the print jobs so far have been great overall, and I am hopeful this new inkvestment tank will turn out to save me some money!Pros:Set up was super easy. I stuffed its trays and let it print away, sending all types of docs and graphics through it, and I`ve been pretty satisfied with the quality I`m seeing. Print directly from online apps, though when printing pics I did notice some color distortions compared to my old printer, but it prints out some fantastic png files...high quality look...actually going to frame something I recently printed because the color and clarity is that good!! Clear characters and lines...even a spreadsheet looks clear in the tiniest text sizeScanning was just as good.Trays and feeder user friendly.It`s a solid machine, quality looking.Multi-functional all-in-one machine great for a small business.Cons:Its BIG! It takes up some counter spaceThe printer was a bit heavy to carry up to the second floor office..it weighs a little over 50lbsI`ve had that extra paper feed though every once in a while...1 every 15 pgs or soI removed the lids on each of the paper trays because they are not needed for function and just get in the way when putting in paper.Overall I`m satisfied with the Brother printer and happy with the features included...making my life easier and more efficient. Rated 5 out of 5 by from SLOW & UNRESPONSIVE The only nice comment I have is that the scanner works great, however, that is where the value in this machine stops. Our small office printer was purchased in Feb with a very high recommendation from an outside sales resource. When jobs are sent to the printing features from either an office pc or phone a "receiving data" message is displayed, which never goes away. Been well over 24 hours now and it's still "Receiving Data" from one simple PDF doc. The printer is connected to a battery backed up surge protector as insurance to the electronics inside. Don't buy this 4.5 star rated printer, as we did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MFC-J5945DW is the absolute worst printer! I really did not want to move to a ink jet from a laser printer but based upon reviews went ahead. My mistake. This think jams all the time and I have wasted virtually all of the supplied ink on clearing jams and cleaning the "jets". If Brother does not replace ALL of the originally supplied four ink cartridges, I will return or junk this printer.

We`ve had this printer for over a week now nd are still discovering the great features. This printer truly is a great all-in-one printer. You can print from laptops, computers and your phone, scan and fax, too (if you have a landline. I work freelance and always need to be able to print and send contracts and other paperwork back and forth to clients. This printer makes it really easy to do that. It works pretty quickly. I was able to print a 200 page document in about 15 minutes, which I thought was perfect compared to my old printer. This is really handy for freelancers and small business owners. The only thing I`m not a fan of is the size. It`s HUGE and will need its own little table. Right now we have it on the floor. I would recommend if you can deal with the size.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. The setup for the printer is a little tedious. You have to keep going back and forth between the printer and computer to get thru all the steps. Once the setup process was complete, the printer worked great. I did have difficulty with it continuing to go offline. I would have to go back in and reconnect it to the wifi. It`s a great printer and prints clean and clear. I love the double tray. I use cardstock often, so I love having the option to switch between the trays to choose my paper choice for that print.

The only miss is the slot for the cable is a bit awkward to put in if you are not using wifi. I was amazed for how it comes with a large tank of ink that they claim will last for an entire year. Overall, I love this printer and I will see how long the ink would last. Printing speed is a bit on the slow side but quality is excellent.

Copies of documents scanned via the Automatic Document Feeder are not printed at an angle compared to the paper edges, but are perfectly alligned! I have not yet used the Fax function. The printer is not noisy and printing from the computer via Wi-Fi is only delayed by a second or two. Looks well made and has a comprehensive on-line user manual.

The Brother MFC-J5945DW Injet is a great home office printer. It has a huge capacity for paper, long lasting ink cartridges, and the print quality is what you would find on a much larger industrial printer. The printer is larger than a typical home printer so it needs a little more space due to a back feeder and weight. It prints small projects quickly and the settings were easy to alter. Large projects (over 100 pages) took quite a while but the quality was wonderful. I was really impressed with the ease of setting up such a commercial style of office equipment. I did need two people to get it out of the box but it only has a power plug to hook up. The driver cd installation was easy albeit a little time consuming (about 45 min). The screen on the printer had very easy and clear instructions with ink, paper and feeder use/ installation. The fax and scan functions are also easy and user friendly. Pros: large paper capacity that doesn`t seem to jam-- even when printing large files double sidedhigh print volume ink cartridges that are super easy to install and changemany paper/ print options including 2 sided and bookletfeeder tray for odd size papers/ envelopes/ photosCons: paper trays have a removable cover that has to be taken off and replaced to put in paperOverall-- I think the Brother printer all in one is a great option for a work from home office or small business. It has all the functions needed and is easy to use and set up.

I needed Color printing & copying, and WiFi connection for my phone is a big plus. My Brother Multifunction laser has served me well for years, and I expect the same from this one. I just wish two sided printing could be set as a default instead of having to select it each time I print.

I have plain paper in one tray, letterhead in another and envelopes in the MP tray in back. I do lots of correspondence and it will print two sided. I just tell it where to go and it prints a professional product.

I have printed typical colored fonts and wording, and also full pictures. The quality is great every time. - Fast printing. I have my printer set up in a separate room from my computer. As soon as I hit "print", I can get up and go to get my page(s). They are ready and waiting for me every time. - Easy to use. This printer is incredibly easy to figure out how to use. The screen on it and the large "panel" makes it simple, and always includes instructions for how to handle any situation (i.e., paper jam, out of paper, etc). I love that I don`t have to scratch my head and spend hours trying to fix a paper jam or something. - Quiet printing. I rarely hear the printer going when I`m in another room. I like that it isn`t super loud. I once heard it make kind of a strange sound - as if it had bumped against something - but I haven`t heard it or had any issues like that since. There is one thing I don`t love...the cons: - The printer is big. It`s a very big printer, which doesn`t fit on my small desk. Not a con overall, just for me. Be sure to have sufficient space to fit a good-sized printer. I am loving this printer, and it`s getting a lot of use every week!

Based on what I have experienced with this machine so far, I would give it an initial Five Star rating; however, at this time, I can only give it Four because I can't yet account for durability or longevity and, therefore, am unable to comment on value over time. Having said that, I can say that I am loving this printer! For an inkjet printer it is blazing fast. I have owned various brands of printer and none of them even comes close to the speed of this Brother. I think it is even faster than Brother claims it is. That includes color printing. Brother claims "first page out" time to be six seconds and it may actually be quicker than that. Typed pages and color look very good. The 600 page paper capacity means longer intervals between loading paper, and the versatility of the multi-purpose tray is an additional convenience. I'm unable to comment on the "INKvestment Tank System" at this time, except to say that the cartridge ports are easily accessible and the cartridges are simple to install. The Brother MFC-J5945DW Color All-in-One Printer is very quiet in its default setting; when in quiet mode, it is noticeably quieter, and somewhat slower--I'm confident that even in quiet mode printing is faster than most other machines in this printer's price range.

The Brother color inkjet multi-function center is very large and heavy duty. Be careful when lifting so as not to put your back out like I did! I was impressed with the size as it surely felt like a solid piece of machinery, however be sure to clear ample space for it to live. Setup was a breeze. The paper instructions were easy to follow as well as the touchscreen instructions. I did not use the cds and my laptop and mobile connected easily. Wireless also connected on the first try and started downloading a software update. Ink cartridges were substantial and foolproof to insert.I loved the bright touchscreen as it was adjustable to your best viewing height. However, I noticed that it fumbled a few letters when typing in my email address and I have tiny hands! It did not give great tactile feedback almost as if I am pressing through a thick waterproof cover.My first prints came out with a little more noise than I had hoped for, but the quick speed makes the short amount of noise worth it. I did find a quiet mode, but did not notice much of a difference in noise or time. Prints were crisp, but color did not seem as vibrant as I had hoped. Printing from my mobile phone worked easily and seamlessly. Single pass duplex is an amazing feature as well, which I can see myself using often.Copying was cumbersome as half the time it did not register paper being added in the auto document feeder rather than on the glass resulting in a number of confusing blank page prints. Especially when I tried out the ink save mode and it printed me a blank page. I thought: wow that is one way to save ink! Until I realized it never fed the paper through. I then discovered it made a beep when the paper is properly inserted and ready to copy. I tried adding shortcuts to the main screen and found the process arduous and not that useful as you still have to access the shortcut menu to view your shortcut. Scanning to email via the shortcut was seeming to only work when you place a scan on the glass rather than the top feed. After 5 or so tries at reinserting the paper on the top I realized this. Only to have it give an error message that I did not have an email server properly configured and print a confusing out of memory transmission report. I tried via the scan button and scan to web, easy scan to email. It then took the page through the feed and sent me an email. However, I could not find the address book through this method and had to input my email address again. It also printed out another transmission verification report stating out of memory, although the scan did arrive in my email. I did not try the fax function or usb function.Overall, I am quite pleased with the print function and believe if I delved deeper into the copy and scan solutions I can hopefully work through the kinks.

Efficiency: The product carries out its essential tasks (printing/scanning/fax) in a smooth, swift manner. Making use of a number of quality features, such as the auto-two-sided printing, 50 sheet automatic document feeder, High speed printing, capacity for up to 500 paper sheets, ability to connect using wi-fi, Near field communication helps create a truly powerful tool in a business setting. Both the printer and the program you install on your computer to connect to the printer are intuitively designed which makes for a very satisfying and to-the-point user experience.Quality: I was pleasantly surprised to find, that when I had accidentally printed something that was supposed to be 4x6 inches in full Letter size that the quality was perfect! As was the case for just about every image/documented I`ve printed since, no smudges, honestly haven`t seen any issues with ink distribution, the quality is about as true to the image as one could expect from a high quality ink printer. Definitely happy with this.Problems: If I had any complaints about the product it would really just have to be that the manner in which each tray is set seems to be counter intuitive. Most features of the printer are very smooth in execution, however removing the trays and returning them, with the cover on just feels like a very awkward interruption to the flow of using it. It`s not a real issue but an experience that I think can be smoothed out. Otherwise I`m quite happy with the product.Overall: I`d like to say overall I believe this printer to be somewhat of a powerhouse, 3 major functions in one machine that has a generally lower maintenance cost than other products that promote similar benefits. It`s met my requirements nicely, twice fold when I consider the quality of life enhancements it has the allow me to usually just sit in a totally different room, uninterrupted from my work while I can print anything I need at any given time. The quality is always top notch, whether it be printing, or scanning, and if for any reason I`m in a hurry I`ve no reason to worry because it does its job quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does everything it is supposed to I was initially dubious about Brother do to lack of familiarity - No longer! This thing covers all the bases. It also addresses my user issues. Really annoying to have to keep putting in new ink cartridges - No longer! Now only once a year or so. Drawers movement very solid. Setup surprisingly easy. Download of current software worked with no hitches! It just did what it was supposed to do, with a few questions and permissions. I could have relaxed. Brother even used a special bag inside to make it easier for one person to get this heavy printer out of the box. They really thought through many such small details. Only 2 suggested improvements. LED screen should be 50% larger so do not have to keep reaching for my glasses. Also, I wish it could be 1-2" smaller in all dimensions.

Assembly/ Set upNo physical assembly of the printer was needed getting ready to print was very straight forward instructions were short and to the point WiFi printing took no more then 5 minutes to set up. Hook up to my computer was just as easy did take more time but no more then 20 minutes. There was no instructions on how to put the ink in, I had no issues figuring it out very easy.The printe is very compact for all its functions. I did find the paper tray to be bit flimsy not major issue. Printing was very easy and quick I love that I was able to print from any where in my home I work from home and have small children so I am always multiple tasking and this is great feature for me.Scanning was very easy Quality of printing was good color was bit on the lighter side but again not a major complaint. Overall I am pleased with the printer great size and very user friendly.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I work from home and am self employed. A good quality printer & scanner is an absolute must. This printer has been the perfect fit for my family`s lifestyle as well as my job. It`s quick, easy to use and prints and scans clear quality and colored pages. I use both the document feeder scanning and flat bed scanning quite a bit.It was super simple to set up. When you open up the box, right on top are clean and clear instructions to help you get started. It is step by step and I never once had to look up further direction. It came together quickly and easily. I have a mac book so the AppleAir Printing feature made it even easier, I didn`t have to install or download any of the drivers for the printer to connect and work properly.One complaint would be the shear size of the thing. If you have a home office it wouldn`t be too big of a deal but if you have your printer out in the open this may not be right for you as it takes up a lot of space. It`s roughly 21" wide, 15" high and 15" deep. I would love it more if it could be a bit more compact. The other complaint I have is that the feeder scanning sometimes doesn`t grab cleanly and will bend the corner of a page or come through slightly of kilter.The price feels reasonable to me for how much it has going on. It prints in b&w as well as color, it has two scanning options - a feeder and a flat bed, and it faxes if you find that to be a necessity. The screen on front is nice, clear and easy to navigate. It also comes with up to a year of ink. Overall, I would say this is a great buy for anyone with a home office or business.

Item: Brother MFC-J5945DW InkJet Assembly: I received this item in exchange my unbiased opinion. The instructions were very clear and it made setting this up very easy. It is slightly heavy so I do recommend you have somebody to help you if it needs to be lifted up somewhere or carried long distances.Reliability: I found this printer to be very reliable, I did not run into any problems. With previous Brands I`ve ran into paper getting stuck or the printer freezing but with the Brother brand I am yet to have had any issue. This printer also seems very sturdy; I`m sure it will work well for a long time. Features: I love us simple it is to go from printing to copying and everything else. This printer is also the perfect size for an office or a home office. It`s not a small printer but it`s also not too big. When sending files from my phone or computer to the printer it only takes seconds for it to process and it is very quickly printed. The touch screen was slightly confusing at first and did take me some time to get use to. I was very happy that it came with the ink; it does seem to use slightly more than my last printer.Price: I definitely think the price is reasonable. It`s great quality and works wonders.Overall: Great printer, copier, scanner! I definitely recommend this!

This printer replaced an Epson model that I`ve owned for quite some time. I felt that my old printer used entirely much ink and it wasn`t wireless. This one is going to be the solution to my printer issues. While larger than my old printer, it`s still a reasonable size and fits nicely on my desk. It also feels solid and well made. It has every single feature that I could ask for. It does duplex jobs with ease and without jamming. I also appreciate the hidden phone jacks and USB ports; looks nice and neat. The best feature on this printer is the lightning fast speed with which it prints. I actually laughed when my test page printed. I thought the sound it made was in preparation to print. Nope....just my printed page being delivered. I couldn`t even believe it. Everything I`ve printed thus far is crisp and colorful. If the ink lasts as long as it`s supposed to (it comes with a year`s supply then I shouldn`t need a printer for a very long time. This does it all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Initial Review I was originally looking to buy another laser printer. My last one was the Brother MFC-7420. It was a solid MFC but it finally gave out after many years of good service. After researching, I ran across this ink solution that was pretty compelling for the total cost of ownership. The ability to refill the tank was a big part of it. The process of installing the print driver and utilities was fairly straightforward although it did not automatically start when you opened the initial .EXE file. I had to go where the folder where the files were decompressed and kind of guess at which .EXE file to launch the actual install app. After than, it went smooth. It did take a bit longer than I thought but it completed with no issues and was able to print and scan over wi-fi without issues. It's only been about 3-4 weeks since installing and using but I'm happy with the performance. Print speed is great. I have a short walk to the printer and it usually is done and waiting for me. Copies are fast and clean. The ADF is a feature I looked for in an MFC and this one does the job nicely. I'm not copying huge amounts; the biggest burden is to copy donation receipts for taxes. I've used the scanner to scan to my computer from the printer console; I have not used the scanner utility to scan from the computer. It would be nice if the unit would allow me to reuse my last settings instead of having to go through the whole set up again. Yes, there is a save-as-short cut but I use that for situations where it is a long term usage; not a one-time scenario. Finally, this printer is connected to my wi-fi mesh network and it has been great for the family to print and scan to/from it. This MFC was a little more than I had plan to pay for but so far has been a great value. I will likely update/add to the review once enough time has passed for me to assess the ink usage and ink management functions on this unit.

Fortunately the tec support team is responsive, however most were not very knowledgeable and the steps they wanted me to do made it worse than before. After tec support, things that were working, stopped working. I finally figured out myself how to change all the settings back and resolve my own problem. The paper support tray where the printed pages come out is now loose and only sitting on the track. I was told I would have to take it or send it to an authorized service center for repair. So I decided to live with that.

But this particular model has had a document feed issue sense day one, and the scan feature is problematic. The copy features are above average and the second tray can be used for 11x17 paper.

It just works every time and our entire family now can print directly from their devices which saves me from having to do it for them. It seems to sip ink and blast out copies so quickly. The software suite works flawlessly for scanning and I always know I can rely on a quality result.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printing remotely isn't always possible. Sometimes the printing capabilities with the wifi are intermittent. For example, sometimes I can print directly from my cellphone and some days I can't. It doesn't matter if I turn off the printer or reset my mobile device the wifi capabilities just don't want to work. But overall, I'm very pleased with this printer. Much better than a Hewlett-Packard or a Canon - both of which I've owned and both of which have left me greatly disappointed.

Separate paper drawers and rear tray make printing various sizes convenient. It uses a lot of ink. The cartridges it comes with are barely enough (in one case no enough to fill the internal tanks, so if you purchase new, have another set ready. Another good thing about it is the ink gauges explaining how much is left in the carts and internal tanks. It prints photos pretty well and will do OK at a 11X17 print but not like a photo printed at a shop. This is my second of this model. I had an initial problem that required Brother support to sort out. Printing results of any photo or graph showed a green tinge. I was directed to utilized an internal flushing program and restart the inking process. Used a lot of ink in doing so. (Thought Brother might offer a coupon for wasted ink in completing this flushing but it wasn't to be.) Product support was attainable and friendly.

Easy to set up, speedy delivery, and so far comparable to the best of what I've used in the past.

Cost per copy is very reasonable both black and color. Copy and scan both sides feature reduces time and handling. One year ink supply is a big plus.

It’s nice to be able to scan and print from my other Apple platforms. I like the looks of it sitting in my Home office. I’ve not tried the envelope printing yet so I hope that works as well as everything else.

The double trays allows the use of letter, legal and ledger size paper stored in the trays. The connectivity with my computer via WiFi when using the printer or scanner seems almost seamless without having to use a cable. I bought this printer to replace an Epson printer with the same features that only worked for about 5 months before its circuit board went bad. I have not had the printer long but at this point I am happy with my purchase. The price for this printer is really a plus for someone looking for all of the features it offers.

The quality isnt as grest as a laser printer but its definitely still very clear. It prints fast, very user friendly and also super cost effective to print. All around a great printer!
