Skews text and images in just months
My last brother inkjet lasted 14 years before the print head began to skew lines and make text look strange. I never expected today's Brother printers to have the same quality, but the J4335DW started to do that in just 7 months. Needs relentless print head cleaning, wasting ink, and sometimes still does it after cleaning. Brother says in the Print Quality Check Sheet looks right then as far as they're concerned it can't be doing this. And there is no contact address to even write a letter of complaint enclosing examples. Can't recommend this printer.

USB port hidden and awkward
When the printer prints or copies, it's great, but I've had a lot of connectivity issues. Furthermore, although it says it can connect via USB, the connection is really awkwardly placed, you have to have the lid open! Why?

Great value
I had an a scanner from another company, that was not working and the software was always confusing. After fighting with it for most of an afternoon, I just bought this. Getting it setup to print was trivial, and both of our laptops were able to connect and print easily. The scanning software is very straight forward, and other than needing to turn up the resolution, the defaults were good, and it worked well.

Love Brother printers
Easy to setup; easy to use. have used Brother printer model prior to this one and realized it was a good product, but old. So purchased the new one. I like the duplex printing mode. It was not available on older model.

I hate this printer. It is CONSTANTLY offline and I have to go downstairs to turn it on to make it online. It is a waste of time and I wish I had known this before I bought it!

Excellent Value Printer
As anyone would be, I was bummed when my old HP printer died. Little did I realize what a blessing in disguise that would be. My new Brother printer is so superior, I couldn’t be more pleased. Very very fast start up speed. Pages print in less than half the time and are crisp and clear. And best of all, no more dealing with the short lived and absurdly expensive HP ink cartridges.
Overall just a terrific printer that I would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable home unit. Very happy with my purchase.

Less colorful than expected.
This printer was easy to set-up and and establish a wireless connection to the Internet. I have been pleased with the black & white print quality, but less pleased with color printing. I tried to print a deep red, but it lacked intensity.

Best Small Home Office All-in One Printer
Super all-in one small printer/scanner/fax, perfect for home office. High quality fast color printing, two sided. My only issue is scanning to my laptop is a little bit cumbersome, not a simple place the document in the in-tray and press the button.

SO EASY. I'm a techno-dino, so "easy" is a must. My needs are simple, I just want to scan and print. This printer replaced an older HP printer. The HP made me do a kabuki dance scan a doc, or even just a simple print.. This printer is just wonderful and I wanted to tell the world about it.

I BOUGHT THIS J4335 BECAUSE HP'S INK WAS SO EXPENSIVE. AT LEAST THE HP WOULD PRINT. I HAVE SPENT HOURS UPON HOURS TRYING TO GET IT TO PRINT PUBLIC DOCUMENTS FROM OUR STATE WEBSITES. GOOD THING MY DEADLINE ISN'T TOMORROW. AT FIRST IT STOPPED PRINTING. BUT AFTER COMMAND PRINTER, THEN DUMPING THE PRINTER THEN DOING PRINTER SEARCH, AND DOWNLOADING THE PRINTER AGAIN, IT WOULD START WORKING. NOT THIS TIME. BUT ALL THE STORES ARE CLOSED RIGHT. IT DOES THIS AT LEAST 2 TO 3 TIMES A WEEK.

I wish I had good things to say. I LOVED my previous Brother printer. But this one has paper feeding problems, and folds the paper as it goes through, and jams a lot. Friends have tried to fix it, with no luck, and the instruction manual does not address this issue. I am quite disappointed.

Lots of connection issues. 1st few months I would wait over 20 minutes each time I pressed print. I finally attached one computer with a usb cable which has helped.

This Printer is awesome! Awesome in that it just prints, copies, or scans, every time, no problems, no error messages, no having to restart it every time. It just works. Wish I had bought a Cannon Printer
I bought this Brother Printer because I have a Brother sewing machine that I Love and thought "if the printer is anything like the sewing machine, it's going to be grrrrrrreat and I'm going to Love it". But it's not. The first thing I hate is the tiny little screen. It's hard to read and in the wrong place. It would be much better if it were on top and if it was a flip up screen. The next thing I hate is that after I do an update I have to reset or almost re-program the printer before it will print again. It makes me so angry that I want to unplug it and plug in my old Cannon printer that doesn't have any of these problems. I wish I hadn't bought this printer. I should have bought another Cannon Printer.

Just one suggestion...
Don't use a printer a lot, but the use I've gotten with this printer has been A-OK. The only thing I wish would have been included, would be a "power light". There is no way to know if it is turned on or not, just sitting there. Other than that suggestion, its been great.

I have had my Brother printer for a little over a month. Set up went smoothly. I do highly recommend reading all instructions very carefully. Otherwise you could miss a step and have to start over again. So far it has preformed exceptionally well. Love the larger ink tank. It is nice not to have to change cartridges so often. The controls and display screen make it easy to navigate through the various functions and features. Love the versatility of the all-in-one with so many features. Makes it easy to get projects done quickly. Very happy with my new Brother printer.

the printer is very stylish and well designed, I like the print quality and the quietness of the print. Few improvements can be done which I find it difficult to navigate, the first is the input to password within the screen is old school and the second is the connectivity via Air-Print feature was not setup properly as connecting to the WiFi was a challenge.

Not consistent printing
I purchased this after my old Brothers printer finally gave up the ghost (wish I still had it). This model appeared to have most of the bells and whistles except for 11 x 17 capability. But in trying to run copies I have experience a lot of streaks, lines missing, ink blotches, etc. In order to get a decent print I have to set it to Best. Constant cleaning of the print nozzles does give a little relief but it is short lived. If there are some things I haven't tried would like to know. Yes always Brothers Ink.

Positive experience the 2nd time around
This is a business-at-home printer shared by two adults. We have spurts where we will print dozens of pages per day and there are many days where no printing at all is done. But, when we need it, we need it and we do not want our work to be put on hold. That scene would involve yellowing and stomping of feet.
So far, after about a month we have had no negative issues. To be candid, this is the 2nd version of the printer. There were some hardware issues involving paper flow with the first one we received. After 4-6 weeks of reaching out to support via email it was determined that it was the printer. It was not support's problem from taking too long. I stay busy servicing my clients.
Once the return authorization was done, they sent us a new printer and gave me instructions to pack the faulty printer in the box the new one came in. They paid for the return. First time out of the box everything went flawless with setup and testing. The ink cartridges from printer #1 did not work in the new printer so I simply used the new cartridges included. An intelligent printer! For testing, the new printer printed a sheet of paper with a variety of lines and colors. I was to scan this printout and then be told by the printer's analysis whether things were awry with the alignment and probably some other possible issues. No issues were found and I was ready to get to work.
Thus, my first experience with the new printer was a positive one. It's fast, too, based on other printers I've used. Scanning is a cinch. I do no not do faxing anymore so that I didn't set that up. Colors are bright and not smudgy at all.
After having worked with computers and printers since 1980, I don't get all flustered when something doesn't work right out of the box. There will always be a percentage of new products that fail for some reason. Accept it. Deal with it. Be nice to the folks on the other end of the phone.

Basically, I love the printer. The single sheet feeder on the back is a real "plus" for printing various sizes on the fly.
Would really like to have a scan preview with the ability to crop prior to the scan (and adjust contrast, etc.

Easy to use. Print quality is very good. Scanning process is very easy. The only issue I have is that it is difficult to enter the admin password (for firmware update for example), especially if there is a mix up upper and lower case and numbers. Otherwise overall great printer.

This machine is a piece of junk the setup is incredibly complicated and the settings don't stay and every time I try to use it it reverts to some weird setting and then it tells me my account is not found and then comes this horrific Lee complicated process to set it back up so it will accept my internet information and restore the account is just absolutely a nightmare I hate it

Excellent Multi-Function Printer
This printer is is fast and high quality. The setup was extremely efficient and it stays connected to my home network all of the time. Brother does not seem to have continual firmware upgrades like my previous brand of printer which couldn't find my home network 60% of the time. Scanning works great, although I cannot speak to the fax function since I do not have a hard phone line. I am very pleased so far with this multi-function printer.

HOPE MY INK LASTS FOREVER
For its price it's a pretty descent printer, never used a Brother printer and I'm impressed. It's fast and prints great for my needs. Ink supply is the most impressive so far. Printer ink has become way too expensive and Epson went through ink not fast but faster than this Brother printer. Hardest part of the setup was the connection to Wifi, not as easy as Epsons set up but took a while but does work after way too long and frustration. Hope I don't have to buy ink refills anytime soon, might end up costing more than the printer itself

Was not familiar with brand but very happy with purchase. Fast, quiet and great color. Have set up both wired direct to printer and wireless to our iPhones. That was key feature we were looking for (wanted backup). Should be more strongly advertised Set-up could use more clarity (with pictures).

Wony print straight or dark no matter what you do.
There has been so many updates. I can not get it to aleign or print straight no matter how many times auto and manual. It also does not print very dark more like grey tgan black no mater how many time i clean the heads. Unfortnatley i kept using my Hp that prints but diesnt scan anymore. So i let the warrinty lapse. So i am stuck with the frustration and still using 2 printers. Sorry to say I can not recomend it.

The easiest printer set up ever
I wanted a desktop printer with color and two sided printing. After reading some independent online reviews, the MFC-J4335DW seemed to fit the bill. It was priced within my budget and easy to acquire. When I received the printer I was impressed by how well it was packed. The set up and connection to my wifi system was the easiest I've ever experienced. Online access to the searchable manual is also a plus. Things to improve are: instructions should be available right on the unit's screen in order to change the paper size, and also to reduce/enlarge the item copied. Fewer steps for both of these tasks would be welcome, or a shortcut on the manual to go right to these often used tasks.

In one word, I would call this all-in-one clunky. Outdated display is not touch screen, so setting changes are all done with directional arrows. Scanning requires going from computer to scanner to make sure they are communicating, as the computer must be on the right site to receive.
Printing is quick, for the most part, but sometimes is hung up "receiving data," and takes a while. Photo printing is ok so far, but I have not tested it's abilities much yet.
Bought this after reading positive reviews. Probably won't buy another Brother. Was using Canon, but the last two had issues with ink leakage and the ink carriage freezing.

Perfect Color Printer
I am so impressed with the Brother MFC-J4335DW Printer. The purchase of the printer cost less than one toner cartridge for the printer it replaced. My printer is for personal use making greeting cards, scrapbooking, crafts and personal home needs. The printer was very easy to install and prepare for my daily use. The copies are beautiful with the colors being true to each color, bright and clear. I am so happy that this printer was recommended to me. I would like to recommend that anyone looking for a new color printer try it as the output is quality, beautiful prints with very reasonable costs for replacement ink cartridges.

MFC-J4335DW Brother Color Printer
A great printer that adapts well with our computer and cell phone apps. Easy to load black and single color cartridges. Easy to load paper dispenser for regular letter size only paper. Essy to print and scan. Haven't had jamb paper as of yet, so unsure how good or bad that will be. But given that so far we haven't had any hiccups like we did with another brand, I believe we chose very well.

Paper jams a constant problem
This printer scans and prints well, when it works. The problem is the paper feed. I use 24# premium ink jet paper. About every third sheet misfeeds or has a big wrinkle in the paper when printed. I have cleaned the feeder rollers and blown off the device with canned air to try to fix the problem, but it continues to create paper jams. My HP printer this device replaced was old and the printer head was worn, but I never had a problem with jams. I tried Brother because of the compact design of the all in one device, but I am very disappointed. The printer is 6 months old, and this has been a problem from the get-go. Unless there is a fix for this issue, a new HP printer is on the horizon.

Network functionality is Non-functional
The printer randomly disconnects from the Wi-Fi and frequently cannot find any Wi-Fi networks even if the router is physically touching the device. When trying to reconnect, the printer somehow soft locked itself, telling me to go to the setup page on my pc or phone. Following those directions were no help because the only button that does ANYTHING is the power/Wi-Fi button. Which, takes me to a screen that says "Busy try again". Support was zero help which I recognize isn't the support staffs fault. Its not their fault the company didn't bother to provide them any real training or do even the most basic quality testing on their product. Eventually The printer magically unstuck itself after 3 days and I was able to manually enter the SSID and Password for my network. TLDR: I've had this printer for 2 weeks at the most and it has been broken more often than functional. DO NOT BUY

Solid printer/scanner.
Overall I am happy with this printer. I am using it to print and scan primarily from a MacBook and iPhones. Accessing the printing and scanning settings through my computer is easy. It prints very fast and I’ve been happy with the quality thus far. I took off a star because going through the menu on the machine itself is cumbersome since it has a digital display but not a touchscreen. You have to arrow through the options, such as when I want to scan through the multipage feeder to my email when my computer is off. I do not have it hooked up to fax. For the price though, I am happy.

This is a great value little printer that I got to replace a failing Canon 4-in-1 printer that I've had for over 10 years. The Canon did a bit more - I miss full duplex scanning and two very usable paper trays - but the quality of the Brother is just as good, the ink costs are much lower, the interface is much friendlier, the drivers are superior, it is significantly faster, a bit quieter, and it is much smaller. The pull-out tab that catches pages coming out is a bit hopeless, though, especially if you are printing lots of pages. I don't print much but occasionally (2 or 3 times a year) need to print out book-length documents. It does this well enough, but I'd not want to do it any more often because it takes some attention to catch the falling pages.

I have been using the MFC-J4335DW for a few months now and have been very happy with it. I use the print, scan and copy functions. The setup was straightforward on both laptops and phones and I have appreciated the wireless printing and scanning. The printer speed is great for what I need and I have taken advantage of the automatic double-sided printing feature often. The ink lasts a long time--after about 3 months of light/moderate home office use, I still have 75-80% left in all of the color ink cartridges and around 90% left in the black and white.

It took me some time to figure out setting it up to work from my laptop, but I'm not very tech savvy. My 8-year old granddaughter jumped in like it was nothing and got it going. So, that tells you a lot! It prints beautifully and is a very smooth-running printer. The one I had before (another brand) shook the entire desk while it was printing. Not this one! I love that I can print on cardstock to create labels, etc. for my handmade business. I spent a lot of time investigating different printers and different brands. Brother never lets me down!!

Very good except for one annoying connection issue
Very fast, seems very easy on ink. Print quality for everyday is fine, haven't tried any images. Fairly easy to set up; connection to wi-fi was non-trivial. Main complaint is that every time my PC goes to sleep and I bring it back up, the connection to the printer is lost. I have to power cycle it to get the connection back. Very inconvenient.

We are on our second one. The first one started malfunctioning after two weeks. Then it got a paper jam and literally shredded a piece of paper. After that, despite repeated head cleaning etc. we could not get it to print the yellow or black colors entirely. We had to send it back and get a second one. The second one is very noisy when it grabs the paper to print so I am already concerned.

Has nearly everything you need for home office and so reliable. Ink lasting well, consistent good quality printing. Although I may go a few days without using it, it's always ready. This copier/printer was easy to set up, and it connected to our older laptops just fine and smoothly. It copies fast and is so very economical on ink usage! It's not too loud. It copies just fine too and is working well printing on both sides of the paper. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the sharpness of the print could have been just a bit better. I used to have a professional level HP and it was much heavier and more solid than this one, and it gave a really sharp print of each letter. However, it took a lot more ink and was expensive to replace and the electronic digital controller stopped working and would regularly de-connect itself from our laptops and we would have to again connect which took a long time. This new machine was easy to connect to our laptops and it does not disconnect itself and so I am very happy with it overall!

Functionally, this printer/scanner is great. It is faster than my previous Brother MFC and has much larger ink capacities. My problem is with the ability to scan from the printer/scanner to my computer. It keeps losing the name of my computer on the network. Still able to load the document to scan and then use Iprint/scan.

Small, quiet, and quick
We have been using a Canon MX922 for several years but it kept throwing an error that was basically non-fixable and it has been discontinued. So I spent some time on Google and decided on the Brother MFC-J4335DW. I assumed we would lose a lot of functionality, but have been pleasantly surprised. The Canon was much larger and had to go through a mult-minute warm up with moans and groans and spitting paper out and sucking it back in as it calibrated and got ready to print. It was annoying, but I figured that was the cost of high quality printing. The Brother just wakes up and prints, almost without delay and without waking up anyone trying to sleep elsewhere in the house. It just works, very quickly, and with duplex printing.
My only concern has been getting it to print reliably on wifi. Sometimes wifi works perfectly, sometimes it requires a reboot of the printer, the source device, or the network. Sometimes nothing has worked and then spontaneously it prints, even though a couple of days had passed. Obviously this could be figured out, but in the meantime, I just plugged it in with a USB cord and it has worked flawlessly. So far, the best printer decision I have made out of the dozen or more I have made over the years.

Smooth sailing with Brother MFC-J4335DW
This printer has worked well and easily. The print quality is good and scans are very easy. I am particularly pleased with the ease that it works via wifi. I bought the new Brother printer when my old one started to refuse to scan, but from very early on it had so much difficulty with Wifi that I gave up and used it through USB cable only, which was a bit of a pain. But my new Brother MFC-J4335DW works perfectly with Wifi. I've only had it about a month, but it has been very smooth sailing all along.

I liked the compactness and the ink holding setup. There are a few flimsy components to all printers now. The printer prints with the start and stop sounds of a vintage printer, what's that? Still can't get the wifi print setup. It has very odd button order choices. Online is not as nice as HP. Liked the free templates.

Brother does its jobs well
This is an improvement in quality and speed over my former, comparably priced Epson printer. There is a great improvement in scan clarity which I use often. I haven't had it long enough to rate ink usage but it appears to be easy on using the original cartridges.

Prints great but messes up landline phone service.
Printing is really good. However, the machine interfered with the normal operation of our landline; all calls went immediately to my phone provider's voicemail with only one short ring coming to the house. I did not see any mention of this problem in Brother's literature or anywhere online.

A lot of printer for the cost.
This is a great printer, particularly at its price point. It was easy to set up and easy to use. The ADF document feeder works nicely and produces sharp, clear images. I especially like its 2-sided printing feature. It would have been nice if it had 2-sided document scanning, but at this price you don't get everything. I've printed a lot of pages so far and the ink levels are down only about 10%, so my expectations are high that it won't be an ink hog. This one replaced a Brother 9330. I wish I had made the switch sooner.

A Fine Printer Package for a Fair Price
This printer has LOTS of buttons on the front! Despite that lack of simplicity it has worked well for the past 6 months and prints and scans with the best of them. The one thing that is bothersome is that when it shuts off, it does not wake up when contacted via USB from either of my PCs. I have to manually hit the power button and then it starts to receive the document to print. Ink use seems to be moderate and it does power up and cleans itself periodically. A good device so far.

Good printer with a few learning challenges.
Nice, compact, quiet printer. Keypad a little challenging especially the options giving directions to the printer either from the keypad or from the printer. I still have to activate both options for scanning. Hoping that practice will make perfect.

Home and light home office
This produces good prints-outs for office work and for general home use. If you are looking for professional grade items, look into a laser printer. Ink jets aren't meant for the professional grade stuff. Anyway, packaging was superb. Set up was a breeze (on a Windows system.) The instructions were good. Set up took about 30 mins because I read everything and went with WiFi connections. If you go with a hard-wire plug-in connection, you'll be up and running in half the time. As is typically the case with Inkjets, expect the ink to cost you. But it's still a lot less than a laser printer toner cartridge. Laser printer toner cost a lot more. When I first got the printer, I had to run the head cleaner twice. That fixed the lines in the print quality. I use the printer every couple of weeks and have not had to run the head cleaner since. The scanner runs fine with the general Windows Fax & Scan program. You can use Brothers software too. Paper feeding is very good compared to previous models of Brother that I've had. I suggest feathering the paper stack before putting it into the feeder. The buttons have a solid feel and the menus are intuitive. The build quality feels like a decent home printer. That is, put it on the shelf and leaving it alone works best. But you can move it often, and if you are careful not to drop it, you'll do fine. Be gentle with the paper tray. It's a little thin on the build quality. It holds a decent amount of paper (250 sheets). The printer is no speed demon where printing speed is measured. But I fond it's definitely not the slowest either. Ink reloading ports are well designed and easy to access. It's not as loud as former Brother models I've used. But it's not silent. Close the room's door and the people in the neighboring room won't hear it. The printer supports 2-sided printing, but not 2-sided scanning.

Poor photo printer and Ink promise is bull.
Ink does not last as advertised. Less than 100 pages and I'm running low on ink. The Ink tank only last about one and half as long as all the other old cartridges. Total bull. Print for photo are faded and only about 3/4 as good as canon or epson. No way to change ink waste tank. Not replaceable by user. Massive cost for Brother tech to do it. Bad investment!!!

Paper Jam Issues but Otherwise Good Product
Scanning often causes paper jams, but the paper isn't actually jammed. Once you unplug the printer and plug it back in, it works fine. Printing is very good and fast.

I have had many other printers that would break down or run out of ink in less than 250 pages. I am in college have printed over 1000 pages and it does not seem to be dying anytime soon and I have not even used half the ink that it came with.

Set-Up Guide is Easy to Follow
This printer has been very user-friendly! I set it up and installed everything myself even though my husband is an Instructional Technology educator. (I wanted to prove I could do it) The set-up guide is easy to follow and the step by step instructions were helpful. The printer makes quality copies and prints well. The scan feature was a bit tricky at first, but again, the instructions for set-up were very helpful. I haven't determined how long the printer cartridges last yet but hope it's for a nice long time...

Getting printer to work is difficult
I love how quickly it prints. However, my wife is unable to print. I downloaded your additional software (complete package) in order to scan. She has not. But ever since I did this download, she hasn’t been able to print at all. Gets messages like ‘printer not found’ or offline. It was not easy with our MacOS phones & macBooks to get your printer software to work.

I received this printer as a gift. It is great printer but unfortunately fortunately I had to return it. It just so happens, that I use a lot of card stock paper and this printer does not work well with card stock.
I would recommend this printer for use with plain printer paper.

First Brother Printer - Very Happy
After over 15 years of HP Printers, I decided to purchase this Brother Printer due to all the great ratings. It is compact compared to HP. Set up was easy! In the past, I have had to contact the Geek Squad to set up a wireless HP printer. The paper tray is smaller, though I can deal with that. May be a little noisier than HP, but again, that is not a deal breaker. The quality of the print and copy match HP and may be a little better! It was very nice to get so much ink with the printer. Typically, I would have had to run out and buy new ink, as HP gives such a small amount to start. As for the price of the ink in the long run, jury is still out on that until I have used this printer more. At this point in time, I am very happy with my Brother Printer!

Clumsy interface. No port to scan directly to a flashdrive but the email scan function is finicky AND doesn't tell you there's a problem until AFTER you've scanned your 15 page document. I wish I'd bought the next version of the HP I had before instead of trying out a less expensive one.

Good Basic Printer with Flawed Software
This printer was relatively easy to set up once I downloaded the user manual and various necessary software from the Brother website.The cabled connection to my desktop computer worked well; printing documents directly from my computer was easy and efficient, and good quality. The copy function also worked well. Printing pdf files or emails was problematic and frustrating. Eventually I discovered the iprint program to accommodate pdfs. I have still not resolved printing emails. Great difficulty connecting to my wifi: web site instructions do not match what my printer shows on the LCD screen, so no wifi connection. A good basic printer with flawed software.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
I purchased the MFC-J4335DW mostly to control my toner replacement costs with their new programs. Despite website advertising that the printer was eligible for the replenishment programs, after the purchase I was told it would be eligible but not yet. Also I made an error in the email associated with the registration of the machine which seems to be fatal as no one seems able to correct it and even when I log it with the wrong address, the website cannot fetch the registered computer but I cannot register it again because it is already registered. Ugh!

Only had a few weeks but so far I'm like it. The footprint is smaller than the hp I replaced. Seems to print faster. Does make a 'noise' when duplexing as if paper is crumpling but so far all is well.

Love this printer.
We replaced our old Brother printer with this one. The old one lasted almost 12 years with no problems. Finally the ink absorber got full so we replaced it with the above printer. Love this one. Hopefully it'll last as long as our last one.

Great inexpensive printer.
Great printer. I owned the same printer before, and after many years it started giving trouble. The printer is inexpensive enough it was easier and probably cheaper to buy a new one than get the old one fixed. Which means it went to the dump which is a shame. It prints well, good color work. scans and copies well. The only thing I would not recommend it for is if you plan to use a lot of high grade photo paper. The paper mechanism cannot handle it, and that could be very frustrating. I use USB to print. My partner uses the wifi, which mainly works well, but sometimes her computer cannot see the printer.

I absolutely love this printer. It was very easy to set up and I'm really enjoying using it. It has many features which I've yet to discover. I love the double sided feature and it's quiet and fast. This is my second brother printer and I would recommend brother to anyone.

MEMORY FULL SINCE PURCHASED
Memory full cannot continue day 1 out the box with 1 scan job. Now cannot save a simple scanned document to my PC nor External - same Memory full and I have barely used this printer - DAY 1 ISSUES. However, I do like the iPrint&Scan Utility Interface. Too Bad returning to store DAY 1 of purchase.

Excellent All-In-One!
For the past few years I have owned an all-in-one printer from another brand (that I shall keep anonymous). I went back to Brother because of their reputation and how much I liked their printers in the past. My past printer was slow and would often times drop from the network which would frustrate me to have to constantly try to fix the connection. This Brother MFC-J4335DW has been wonderful! It remains connected to my network and prints fast and clear. As someone who uses it for both work and home use, I am EXTREMELY happy I bouight this all-in-one!

I bought this printer to replace an old HP, and was very happy I did- i still am. Setup is incredibly straightforward and takes 5 minutes at most. The printer in itself does not take up much space, and isn't clunky considering its a multi-function printer. Print quality was great, and the cartridges lasted a long time.
Almost perfect, right? So why the 3-star rating?
Because after I replaced the cartridges, printing became a pain.
After replacing the cartridges, i did all the standard stuff- cleaning, aligning, etc. From the first page printout to today, print quality is horrible. Ink skips, color is very faint, and all i see are blurred lines- no matter what setting i use, no matter how often i perform maintenance.
Unfortunately this printer needs to be replaced.

Unmet Expectations
Used recycled paper at first and had lots of paper jams. Upgraded paper and it works fine for one-sided copies. Two-sided copies are a different story . . . some paper jams, but mostly the problem is smeared text and/or the text doesn't center on the paper.

Had 5 months, and so far the reviews were RIGHT! Runs super well, nice on ink. 2 cons: 1. Minor, (for now Can SOMEBODY fix the freakin 20 yr problem of printers going " OFFLINE", AAAAAHHHHHH!. 2. Little worried that there isnt a hardwire option, even if its for emergencies...if one didn't work, at least, usually the other did. (context; hardwired vs. wireless). Almost all reviews were in the 90%+ range, so the only wireless point lost out. Buy It, before they discontinue it!! Not the newest model. but better reviews.

Where have Brother printers been all my life?? I long suffered with HPs too long. This is the second
Brother printer I bought, because I liked the MFC-J99xxx something, so much.
Just go out now by a Brother like this and throw out your HP.

Impressive!
After knowing only another brand of printer, I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this one. Any doubt I had has since disappeared. Setup was very easy and straightforward- out of the box and printed my test page in under 10 minutes. I’ve since printed hundreds of pages in full color and barely a dent in ink levels. I’ve tried printing using different paper types and have had no issues or ink bleeds. Very very impressed and happy with this printer.

The printer never worked correctly. I replaced it once and had the same issues. I called Brother customer service and they told me they would send me a new one and that never happened. The quality of this printer is poor.

Brother vs Epson
I bought the Brother MFC-Jdw to replace an Epson tank type printer for a lot of reasons. Ease of use, bigger user display, multi function and reliability. The Epson was nothing but problems from day 1. The Brother was easy to setup, use, understand and everything worked.. The wifi was a breeze to install as opposed to the Epson nightmare setup.

Love speed and quality but high pitched noise
Love speed and quality of my printer, but sometimes a strange high pitched whining noise developed when printing multiple sheets about a month after I bought it. I hope it doesn't give out on me.

More than I thought possible!
This is a very nice printer. While it is not as fast aa the HP Laser that it replaces, it is much more economical to run and the prints are every bit as good. It acts as our network printer and handles all in house printing as well as direct from a mobile and through the internet printing too. This was an excellent purchase and one I shiuld have made first.

Compared to my previous Brother printer.
The machine is very noisy when it prints, unlike my previous printer which was also a Brother. It also turns itself off at night and doesn't let you know when it needs paper. It just stops printing.

Paper Feed
About 20% of the time the machine will feed more than one sheet of paper from the paper tray. Other times there are one or two sheets fed only about half way when printing has stopped. All in all, I think it's a very good machine.

It Does Everything Well!
The MFC-J4335DW "All-in-One" printer is a conveniently-sized and and full featured printer/scanner/copier/fax machine. It fits quite nicely on the shelf where we keep our printer and the cover of the copy glass folds back to allow for convenient copying or scanning of pages from books without interference from the shelf above. The printing quality is excellent in both B&W and color and the ink reservoirs are long-lasting and relatively inexpensive. The automatic print-head cleaner keeps the printed documents from having lines across them that plagued us on our previous inkjet printer.
The Brother iPrint&Scan software application is easy to use and very convenient for saving the scan file to your computer. The only issue I have is that the document feeder does not copy or scan two-sided documents. It would be very useful to have a software solution that would allow for a two-sided original document to be put into the document feeder front-side down and then back-side down and have the pages automatically collated to produce an integrated scan file or a one- or two-sided copy.

we have several of these in various models,1 identical to this one. All were simple to set up with no issues. This one will not scan to an email, only to a file. It gives an error that it does not have the software to scan to email. Yes, we have tried to delete and reinstall software, no luck. Purchased through Staples may have to send it back.

This printer won't stay connected to the wifi. You have to reconnect every time you use it and then it may take multiple tries to get it connected again. Very frustrating!

Intermittently unable to connect to printer
The printer works well most of the time but it also is frustrating at times. It will go offline and there seems to be no way to bring it back online unless I reboot my computer. I also get a message the there is no connection to the printer but it is connected through a USB port.

It just works
Isn’t that all you want from a printer? For it to fire up and print each and every time you tap the print button? After cycling through who knows how many HP all in ones, all of which steadfastly quit working for one reason or another, I am SO glad we made the switch to Brother. It’s been months, our ink is still well above half, and when I print something, it works. Every single time. It’s relatively easy to use and set up. I have always liked my Brother printers. I purchased several where I worked for close to 16 years. When I found out how good they were, I purchased the same printer for my home use. I no longer work, but I just purchased an MFC-J4335DW and it is very fast when printing from the PC. But when printing from a copy of something it seems to be rather slow. Not happy about that, but am happy at the speed of printing from the PC.

I am using a refurbished MFC-J4335DW inkjet printer that was supplied, at no cost, by Brothers when the original new printer (purchased via Amazon) failed within 2 or 3 uses. The service has been excellent, the warranty is extended, the replacement printer is working flawlessly. I have it doing wireless printing and scanning using Windows, Macbook Pros, and Linux laptops. Thus far, the quality is great, and paper is handled flawlessly. I am impressed. I've printed some 2-sided papers. That was very cool to watch as the paper is sucked back in to print the second side.

It's a good printer but with minor problems. It's not a quiet printer, it makes too much noise when it wakes up, when pulling a sheet of paper and when it prints. Also, it takes too long for printer to read signal to print so long that at times it makes me think that printer is not connected to my laptop or internet. But it is connected, its just way too slow to wake up.

Great Copier with some drawbacks
The Brother MFC-J4335DW copier does a great job reproducing copies. The light gray keys and white printed instructions are difficult to see in reduced lighting conditions (black print would have been a better choice). The hookup instructions for fax are not clear and I have not been able to hookup the FAX part of the copier.

Perfect Fit For Me
This is the perfect replacement for a printer I had that failed. It lacks a few features that would have been important if had been focused more on a business use but this is perfect for my needs.
The setup was super fast. Connecting my older printers with my network took a bit of time, but this printer does it all automatically. I particularly love the app for mobile devices that allow me to link to the printer from my phone or tablet.
The print quality is superb and relatively fast. The copying and scanning also work as advertised and are very snappy. I haven't used the FAX mode since I have a VOIP connection for my phone and I have had luck with any printer being able to work with that and there is also no phone jack convenient to where the printer is located.
The LCD is bright enough to read but the panel buttons are really too dim to read in low light and the button markings are fairly low contrast against the almost white case but I just installed a motion activated LED under cabinet light above the printer and that works perfectly and gives me the needed light for other things in the cabinet.
The much larger ink cartridges are especially nice and the ability to buy them separately instead of an entire color set is a real cost savings.
If you are the typical home user, this is probably the perfect all-in-one device for you and will more than meet all of your needs. For small office or greater use, you might want to move up a level or two. The bottom line is, this meets all of my needs and I really love it. I won't mention the other brand that I had but I replaced the first printer that failed after about 4 years with an identical model that also failed after about 4-5 years. The price for that model/brand was almost twice the cost and the only other function it offered above the Brother all-in-one was the ability to do two sided scans from the batch feed.

Great Value, poor scan software

Excellent printer
Functions well, stays up on wireless connection. Uses very little ink-nice not to have to refill ink as often. Good print quality. Scanner and copy functions sre goid, haven't used FAX. Recommended.

Third Brother So Far from
It's okay!
I like Brother, but it is like my last printer I had. There are issues. Sometimes it likes to feed more than one copy through. And sometimes it thinks it has a jam when it doesn't. Overall I'm pleased, but it's not as good as it could be.

I decided to upgrade my printer and spend a little more on the Brother MFC-J4335DW. The first problem that I ran into is when I tried to print more than one page it would pick up several papers and try to print on them...leaving papers that were partially printed. Then the next problem was when I tried to print it would shoot out about 10 pieces of paper out of the back of the machine. I tried o go through all of the errors and possible problems but I can't fix it. This printer didn't last a week.

We're happy with this printer. It's the first Brother we've owned, but it works well. My only complaint would be that we get emails every so often from Brother telling us the printer is offline, when it's still connected to our WiFi network.

Great service and wonderful printer.
I am using a refurbished MFC-J4335DW inkjet printer that was supplied, at no cost, by Brothers when the original new printer (purchased via Amazon failed within 2 or 3 uses. The service has been excellent, the warranty is extended, the replacement printer is working flawlessly. I have it doing wireless printing and scanning using Windows, Macbook Pros, and Linux laptops. Thus far, the quality is great, and paper is handled flawlessly. I am impressed. I've printed some 2-sided papers. That was very cool to watch as the paper is sucked back in to print the second side.

Great printer!
I'm a big fan of Brother printers and when it came time for a replacement I wanted another Brother. Found this one at Best Buy and ordered it. Setup was quick and easy. Printer is FAST. Has worked flawlessly so far. I have not printed any photos yet so can't comment on the quality of them but I expect they will be as good as with my previous Brother printers.

Paper jams a SERIOUS issue
I read that paper jams were a problem for some folks but this is terrible. It won't print more than 2 pages without jamming, and when it does print it crumples the paper. It scans fine and print envelope okay. I would definitely NOT recommend purchasing this printer.

Where have Brother printers been all my life?? I long suffered with HPs too long. This is the second
Brother printer I bought, because I liked the MFC-J99xxx something, so much.
Just go out now by a Brother like this and throw out your HP.

Love this printer, bottom paper tray is like the ones you find on them big office printers, holds lots of papers, doesn't malfunction every time you try to print by feeding more than 1 page or paper jams for that matter.
Print Quality is A Okay
only one caveat (for me anyway), i was expecting to be able to plug this into my computer with the USB cable and then use windows sharing to share the printer on the network, but unless you want to share this through a wireless network, i can't get this to work and brother support says you can't do it either.

Great home printer
I got the printer as a gift. I use it for crafting and other document. I printed two sided and printed tracables for painting. It is nice to be able to send from phone or computer!

Repeated Paper Jams
Purchased printer less than two weeks ago. Every third job or so will have a paper jam. The problem might be related to duplex printer, but I'm not sure. Great price and features don't make up for ruined print jobs. This printer replaced an old Brother, which worked for years. But this one is unusable.

Terrible power savermode.
When printer goes into power saver it goes off line and will not print until you go to the printer and hit reset and bring it back online. Not what I expected from wireless operation, it is very annoying. Otherwise printer is okay.

Constantly in error mode
The printer works great when it works. However, after it turns itself off for a while, any new printing gets into an error mode. The only way to correct it is to restart the computer. Updating driver didn't help.

Unit ok, ink cost outrageous.
The MFC-J4335DW is working perfectly, and the ink consumption rate is satisfactory. The teason for the 3 star rating is the horrendous cost of the ink. Absolutely rediculous.

Very reliable printer
I've been using it daily for 3 years. BY FAR, the most reliable printer I've ever had! Also, I love hbow when you change an ink cartridge, it is ready to print, no endless churning before it's ready like previous printers I've had.

Excellent at printing, not so much for envelopes.
I wish I could give a thumbs up review. What works well with the printer.....Printing! At first I had some jamming problems. When I bought better quality paper, the jamming went away. What does not work well is printing envelopes. I have yet to print an envelope without jamming. I have gone on line to make sure I am doing it correctly but the results are still poor. I don't to print envelopes often, but when I do, this printer is a problem. It is certainly not an intuitive process. It is a shame since I like the printer for printing, but, I would not purchase it again.

Superb Print Quality
I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I love the inks this printer uses because the print quality is amazing - so crisp and clear and the pages print very fast! The color is dynamic and does not bleed or smudge even when I use a highlighter on the printed pages. The ink cartridges were very easy to install.

Great printer
This is a great printer. It makes very good prints and prints on both sides of the paper. I didn't give it 5 stars because the paper support is terrible. It constantly falls out. Every time you put in paper, you have to remove it. Also, installation of the printer was not good. I had to start over several times.

Brother J4335 printer is easy to use set up was fast & easy. I did not set up for pc I print strictly from iPhone & iPad. My only complaint was tech support. I had a simple question when faxing paper up or down, 2 hours later and talking to 3 support agents my question was answered.

Excellent Upgrade
This is my second Brother MFC product. I was very pleased with the first but an electrical surge took out the power supply after many years of satisfactory use. This unit is far superior in so many ways but most of all in speed of printing and copying. It is so much faster! Print and copy clarity are excellent and the ink consumption seems reasonable thus far. I highly recommend is printer!

Quirky but Good
This replaced a ten year old all-in-one printer I used in my home office. The Brother has a similar footprint and capabilities. What I like: fast printing, super sharp text, and good color capability. It also duplexes which is nice. What I don't like: I miss having a separate tray for photo paper, I don't like that it wakes up my computer frequently when everything is dormant. Then when I go to turn off the printer - it requires multiple key presses to power down. Then when I power up my computer in the AM, the printer turns on briefly and then says "turning off" I don't know what that is about. All in all I'm happy with the purchase, but it is definitely very quirky!

Good Features-- IF it works
Bought this printer for home use, nothing too hard, maybe 5 pages a week or so. Ever since the first day of owning it, I've had nothing but problems. Most of which come from connectivity issues or failures to upload scanned files. I'm lucky if I get 2 pages to print after an hour of troubleshooting. It'll work ok (intermittently with most devices, but almost never works with one particular computer, even though I have another of the same model in the house and it prints from there with less issues. When it decides to work however, it prints in seconds and is genuinely nice to use. It also takes forever to get through any menus thanks to long load/processing times.

Printer Frustrations
Every day after I power down my computer, the printer loses the internet connection. So, each day, I have to get on the floor (the printer resides under the desk top, and reestablish a network connection. I called to see if Brothers' tech support could resolve this issue, but all they did was have me reload the drivers. This did not resolve the situation. Very frustrating and disappointing.

Very Disappointing
I bought the Brother MFC-J4335DW printer to replace a 3-year old Canon Pixma after reading good reviews on the Brother printers. Unfortunately, the reviews apparently didn't consider the unit I bought. It was extremely hard to install and set up (spent 4 hours trying to get it to find my desktop. Even then I could not get it to send a fax. The first two or three copies printed quickly and silently - but then developed a "clunking" sound that never went away (although it did get a bit quieter). The operating instructions were essentially non-existent. I could never get it to print or scan by pushing a button on the control panel - I had to use the icon on the computer screen to do that. In addition, the icons/lettering on the display screen is so small it was almost unreadable. Finally, I needed to print two envelopes: in printed one and then I couldn't get it to print the other one (tried for 30 minutes and finally completed the work manually). That was the final blow - I returned the machine to Office Depot and bought a new Epson Work Force machine which I got working within 45 minutes after opening the box. Based on my experience I would never recommend that anyone buy this unit.

Mostly good, some irritations
In use now for about a month this has been a reliable printer and copier. I haven’t used the scanner yet and who faxes anything these days? That leads to my first irritation, the default function is to fax. Really? Why isn’t the default to copy which sure seems to me to be the most common function that would need a button. And therein is irritation number two: The function labels are printed between the buttons instead of next to them (and the icons ON the buttons are not intuitive) this means every time I want to copy have to count down to verify that the label refers to the button below and not to the button above — and of course the most commonly used button - copy - is the third one down. Why isn’t it the first button? I guess a button for printing might be needed for some unknown reason but isn’t most printing initiated from a device and not from the printer itself? And finally the most irritating of all: The assigned password is ridiculously difficult to enter from the almost impossible to use keyboard with duplicated symbols and difficult to figure out cursor movement. The password: 8 characters, numbers and upper and lower case never repeating in sequence so that the keyboard must change from numbers to special characters to upper case to lower case FOR EACH CHARACTER!!! To add to the pain my password used right and left pointing arrows that ALSO appear with the movement keys. You have to enter that cursed password to update the software. We aren’t talking SS numbers and bank accounts here. We are talking about a home printer. It was so difficult to enter that I gave up on it altogether during set up as well as giving up on changing it to something in the range of human possibility not knowing it was going to be required for updates. Just try to figure out how to change it later! I looked through every single menu and couldn’t find how to do that.
I am also disappointed that 2 sided copying is so cumbersome. It can only be done from the platen in a two step process that requires you to lift the cover, flip the page and then close the cover again. At that point the actual printing begins. You cannot use the document feeder for two sided copying. On the other hand two sided printing is very nice and that is the default for printing.
In use for only one month it is premature for me to comment on the ink usage other than that I have not encountered any difficulties so far. I will say that the default density is so pale as to be be barely satisfactory - perhaps that is how Brother can market almost a year before needing ink. Higher density printing is also much slower.
Overall this printer does the job and I suppose I will get used to the poorly thought out features. I’m keeping the printer.

Get Tech Support when you buy this printer.
The controls are clear and straightforward, so you would think the operation would be smooth and easy. Not so. I'm glad I bought the supplemental tech help, and I imagine the vendor is losing on the sale.

Supper disappointment with Brother machine
Had problems second month in with error messages. Tried for hours to contact support. Cost prohibitive to take it to a shop. No refund and warranty seems worthless. Brand new machine sitting in a closet.

I liked it so much I bought it again
In 2020 I bought my first MFC-JA335DW, and liked it well enough to replace it with the latest version of the same printer. It is still fast to set up, fast to print or scan, and the ink lasts quite a long time. The new one was even easier to set-up, and it seems to operate faster than the old one.

Good capabilities
This printer gives great output for black and color prints. Scan features are we good to. Only disappointment is that it won't support WPA3 security, so I cannot use it on my upgraded wifi equipment which supports WPA3.

Setup
I found setup to be difficult and time consuming. When I had the printer component working wirelessly it continued to not recognize my desktop on the scanner portion until I finally hardwired it by the USB port. I wasted a lot of hours on this. Now that the anguish is over it seems to be working well. Print quality is good. I still hav3 a sense of trepidation that another problem will arise.

Great new Brother printer at our house
Much faster than our old Brother printer; much more vivid colours on plain paper; we're hoping the ink will last much longer too. Set up was pretty easy. The first time I scanned I realized that the concept of the ControlCenter4 seems to have gone away, but since I'm used to it, I just point the scan to that folder so all the new ones will be in the same place as the old ones.

The printer is good, but I have a couple of issues. 1. The LCD could be bigger. 2. The keypad is difficult to read, white letters are on a grey background. 3. I would like to set my answering machine at 4 rings, but can't, has to be at 2 rings. 4. Unable to edit a scanned document.

Good Printer for 95% of what you do. Scan-fax=weak
Good machine and fast. No issues, good choice. The software to set up scanning, faxing, and plain old remote printing is weak at best. The scanner, once you figure it out, is the weak link.

Initial impressions of Brother MFC-J4335DW printer
I have been using this printer for more than a month and have been very pleased with it. The print quality is very good. It is much more responsive than my previous Canon printers which have to think a long while before producing anything. I hope the print cartridge life will be as long as advertised.

This printer replaces an identical Brother printer that served me really well, but failed after only about 2 years. This new printer (May) works, is slow responding and refuses to pull the same photo paper I used with my prior printer. Telephone support failed me too.

Convenient and Reliable for low volume home use
After using it for a couple of months, I am very pleased with the convenient use and economical overall cost. I use it at home for low volume personal needs. I purchased this printer suddenly when my 8 year old printer did not work with a new Apple M2 laptop despite the new driver from the manufacturer. I saw favorable reviews for Brother printers in Consumer Reports and several reliable sources. I chose this model because it was the simplest in stock at Microcenter when I shopped. I set it up, linked with the new laptop with WiFi and was printing, scanning and copying immediately without problem. I like the tank ink supply which does not need frequent nozzle cleaning and realignment when the printer has not been used for several days. It appears I will save significant costs on ink with this technology. I like the convenience of scanning directly to the computer by WiFi.

Print heads clog easily
Print heads clog easily even using Brother INk exclusively. The printer has a regular self cleaning routine designed to eliminate this problem, but if you check the youtube channels, this occurs far too frequently. Cleaning is a tedious,messy job that doesn't last long. I had high hopes for this printer. Should have been a workhorse. But I can't print in color anymore and for that reason, I can't recommend it. Printer is about 2 years old. Brother - if you're reading this, send me a new printer that works.

Brother does it right
I have been an HP product owner for decades but their products are failing. The Brother printer was highly recommended. It took a little bit to get used to it but I love this printer!

Does great except missing double sided fax.
Perfect printer but I don’t understand that it makes double sided printing and copies but does not scan double sided. Fax are not used much these days but it is an irritant when you want to send fax to reduce paper on your recipient.

Hope It Performs Better Than the Initial Set-up
The set-up procedure is balky, not straight-forward and confusing. The method of entering information to establish a wi-fi link is preposterous, requiring the use of a tiny screen and choosing one character at a time from a display the use of which is also frustrating. For instance if one accidentally chooses a wrong letter, number, or symbol one must start the entire process again without the option of just correcting the one erroneous character. At the end of the process, there are two choices marked "OK" but only one works -- the other one requires starting all over! The paper tray is quite small.

Good machine; good value
It's a great machine for the price and quite versatile, meeting all our needs. The paper tray is a bit flimsy, being made of thin plastic. So I recommend taking care when removing and reinserting the tray when adding paper. A Brother printer we owned previously had paper-feeding problems, likely due, in part at least, to a similarly delicate paper tray.

My nephew set the printer up for wand paired it with my laptop. Otherwise I would not have known what to do. The wireless feature is great. Im still learning how to scan.

Mostly a waste of paper.
After 2 months of hassle I am close to throwing out the Brother printer and buying another Canon printer. Most of my printing is for DVD envelopes. EVERY attempt at printing wastes 1-2 envelopes and sizing the image is next to impossible. But most of the time the envelope jams and I have to pull it out of the rollers. Yesterday, trying to print maps on regular letter paper every image was blurred such that nothing was readable. My Canon printers had some problems but were better than Brother.

MFC review after 3-4 months

Oh Brother! Is it really a printer?
I am 75 and my wife is 73. We are relatively intelligent people are we can make scan, but no matter what we have tried we can not connect to my pc laptop or my iPad. Guess I’ll have to pay someone to help us?

Brother software update makes this 2 star
In the beginning, the printer worked perfectly - we loved it. However, after about two months we got notice from Brother to do a software update. We did that and the printer has been horrific since. One computer in the house still cannot connect, and the others took hours to get working after using the Brother troubleshooting guides. Just a mess that everyone should avoid.

Good Little Unit
Easy set up, super quick and quiet print, BUT the screen to small. It a good thing I have a texting curser or I would be able to make it work. Scanning is pushing too many buttons. For what I do. It works for me!

Brother Printer MFC-J4335DW
This printer is by far the hardest to operate to get it to do what you want your printer to do. I often have to remove and reload the drivers or it will not print. The only thing I really like about it is how much it prints on a cartridge, far better than any other printer I have ever used and the print quality is very good. Learning how to use it is not and you have to go and find the manuals to download.

Can't Beat It!
This is a great little printer and I love it. I had no trouble setting it up and getting it on WIFI. It seems to clean itself if I don't use it in a little while. I am not one that prints every day. The scan feature works like a champ! Have not tried the Fax feature yet but I bet it works great as well. It prints color pictures real well too. You also get free life time customer support from Brother which is a big plus.

Always come back to Brother Printers
I've tried many different brands of printers over the past 20 years. I always come back to Brother because I find that it is the most reliable and is good quality. Sometimes, I'll be tempted by a sale on a different brand or want to just get a "cheap one" for the kids but those always end up costing more in the long run. So, I'm sticking with Brother and this particular one is the newest replacement for my university enrolled kid. Works very well and is really reliable thus far.

Difficult to Connect the Printer to my Computer
I found it very complicated to connect the printer to my computer via wifi. I tried multiple times, but finally had to get help. I had a Samsung printer for a number of years, and I don't remember it every being this difficult to connect.

Printer works well and fast. Sometimes, though, it does not connect through Wi-Fi to my computer. The printer’s information screen is very small which makes it hard to read. I have to reboot the computer to get it properly connected.

Can't Print Multiple Copies
This printer can print one page fine. When trying to print more than one page at a time, it goes too fast for its own good or something. It will pull multiple pages at the same time, will not print aligned with the page (e.g. starting 1/5th the way down the page). I was printing copies of a survey, 8 questions long. It printed 10 successfully and 26 trash copies before I gave up and went to a print store. Had to stop multiple times to clear paper jams after printing like three pages. This is just normal office supply standard weight plain paper, nothing fancy.
Scanning works fine. Networking is fine. Just can't print more than a single page at a time.

No Problems on Printer except Color Brightness
This printer set up easy and quick. No problems were encountered. I primarily print papers in black and white. The quality of color pages was not very bright or clear. The rate of printing was very fast. Since I use the printer mainly for black and white copies, I rate the printer very high. I bought this Brother printer because my experience was very good with previous Brother printers that I have owned.

This printer gives me nightmares.
I normally love Brother printers. I have several. After buying this Brother MFC-J4335 I am giving second thoughts to ever getting another Brother. This was a huge nightmare to get installed wireless. At random times, you tell it to print and it accepts the data, then just sits there. Then maybe 5-20 minutes later it mysteriously decides to print!
Currently it is having strange printing issues that I can't seem to resolve. A line here and there on a document will be printed in italics for no apparent reason. Sheesh.
It copies and scans just fine, but for a printer, I hate it.

Very disappointed. We bought this printer based on high ratings but our experience has been much different. The print quality has been horrendous with color blotching and misalignment. We've tried troubleshooting with Brother customer service multiple times with very little benefit. We don't use the printer very often and it seems to degrade without use. I'm tired of cleaning and re-aligning the heads because it quickly uses up the ink. The printer is nearly useless because every time we use it, it needs to be adjusted. I'm inclined to throw it in the garbage and try another brand.

Wish I still had my Epson Workforce 3640. The Brother does not scan both sides, you have to feed one page at a time or it jams, can't print out a readable PDF of receipts I have scanned--they look fine on view but not when printed. Still have not been able to get the beast to recognize our Wifi so others can print off their devices.

It does a fine job of printing. It took a long time to set up the wifi connection. It worked fine for 2 weeks, then it completely lost the wifi connection. No matter how much I did troubleshooters, resets, and reinstalls, I never could get it to reconnect to the wifi. Finally, I just hardwired it to my desktop. That doesn't bother me to run it hardwired, but that might matter to other people. It prints just fine since I hardwired it.

Why I give the MFC-J4335DW 5 stars
I never bothered to try a Brother printer before - but I needed a larger volumne ink machine. I tried 2 other major brands and returned them both. I decided to try the MFC-J4335DW! WOW! Wish I had started with this printer because I simply LOVE it! For me, it was simple to set up and very easy to load the large ink cartridges. I also like the fact that Brother supplies a year's supply with the printer. I have had it for over a month and it is still working great! One thing I did notice is that it made quite a noise spitting out the pages - but then I read up on that and used it "quiet" setting. The copies do not come out as quickly but I don't mind that - it is so quiet now.

I haven't used the printer because I have no ink. I purchased the printer from Office Depot. The photo of the printer was misleading. It says 'up to one year of ink'. Talked to customer support representative, she said that I was mistaken "no ink included".

Good value for money. Good supply of ink. Print quality for documents is excellent. My experience with printing photos I'd call acceptable but again, for the money, it's really quite good. I use the scanner function with Windows Fax & Scan and it does a good job though I'd call it slow. I just use the scanner for flatbed scanning of bulky items as I have a dedicated document scanner that's much faster. I would buy this printer again and I recommend it for this price point.

Love our new printer. Set up was so easy. We recently returned an Epson which took hours to set up and then the next day went down again. This printer was set up in 30 minutes. The only downside is the color prints are a lighter than I would like. We have had this printer for 3 months and would definitely recommend.

Printer alignment is a pain.
Print heads constantly go out of alignment, requiring 10-minutes of tedious work to get it printing horizontal lines straight again. I have to re-align the heads about twice a month. On the bright side, the ink wells are deep and last a long time.

Great Printer and All In One
This is the 1st Brother printer I have had and I have been very impressed. I tried an HP before and it only lasted 15 days and was a pain to set up. I have had the Brother printer now over a month and it has worked flawlessly. The setup was easy and once I got used to the buttons and functions it has been great. I use it mainly to print documents but have printed some pics. The pic quality is not as good as my old Epson, but that is not a deal breaker for me, and this one does not use the ink the Epson did. I would definitely recommend this printer.

Even though it seems like an unsteady printer on the outside, it works great. It is compact which I needed as I gave up my huge Epson workforce because of space. The print, scan, copy, black, white/color and fax features work just as good as a larger printer. It has Wi-Fi capability also.

Hard to set up wirelessly
We like this printer, but absolutely could not make it work wirelessly with our PC computer. It had to be hooked up with a cord that we purchased from Walmart. It finally was able to be hooked wirelessly to my macbook pro, but sometimes the wait is 5 minutes before actually printing. That part has been very frustrating, but the printing seems great. We've also printed pictures that turned out very good. k We have not yet tried using the scanning option.

So far it's great!
Have had it for a month or so and it's terrific. Was easy to set up, unlike the HPs we've had, and the wireless function works well from three different locations in our offices. Copying is what it's supposed to be, as is scanning. Paper tray holds quite a bit. The buttons on front are a little tricky but got used to it quickly without having to look up any directions, so they are fairly intuitive. Haven't used it as fax at all - just don't do that anymore! Overall, it's great. Have not had to replace the ink at all but you can easily see how much you have in the Brother software on your computer - that's a HUGE difference between our previous HPs and this Brother MFC-J4335DW. I spent a lot of time looking at reviews and features of various printers before I bought this because we tend to keep them for a long time. I'm adding my review to the list of those that are VERY happy with the purchase. Thanks Brother!

The printer worked fine for about 18 mo. but then the black stopped printing. Was able to get a replacement because of the 2 yr. warranty. Hope this one lasts longer

Good Printer, Color prints are fair
I was downsizing my printers as this printer was replacing a Color Jet Leaser printer that was about 8 years old. I needed a printer with a good scanner, an automatic feed and decent printing function. The FAX function does not matter as I use an online service for Faxing when needed. I have a 5-year-old Brother’s leaser mono printer that is very good which help me to decide on the MFC-J4335DW. Another positive point is the ink cartridges will last and the replacement cost is low. I didn’t want to be changing cartridges every few weeks, the MFC-J4335DW stated that there was a years’ worth of ink included. The black text is very good. The scanner is as good as my leaser printer was. The set up was simple and connected with my wireless network flawlessly. The two issues I have with the printer are the printer needs to be turned on each time a print job is sent. The other issue is the color prints quality are fair. I don’t mind the on/off issue as I may print something every couple of days, most of time these days my documents are PDFs attached to an email. The color prints are an issue, which reduced the star rating. Print-head lines can be seen on the paper; matt or glossy paper. The finish prints are fair as the colors do not pop out! As I don’t print much color but when I do, I would like a decent image. I do have a high-end photographic printer, this issue is not that important. For my use this printer was cost effective and prints good business documents when needed.

Full year of ink included???
I am completely satisfied with my new printer. I, however, was glad I purchased extra ink cartridges because my first attempt to print a document, I received a notice that I did not have enough ink to print it. So much for the ink that came with the printer that was supposed to be a full year of ink!! I installed the cartridges I purches at the time of my purchase of the printer and it finally allowed me to print my very first document!!!

Wouldn't buy again
This printer worked well and made nice prints for about a month. From there on out, every time I've printed I've gotten blurry lines, lines that are mis-aligned and look italic when they are not in the original document, and a host of other issues. I have to run head cleaning, print quality tests and etc EVERY TIME I want to print a page. I would not buy this, because when I tried to get help they said it was out of warranty and I needed to pay to get it fixed. They wouldn't even troubleshoot it with me.

A Solid Machine
I'd give the performance of the machine a 5 star. However, the ink tank technology didn't live up to the hype of saving money on the ink. So my over all rating is at 4 star.

Printer works well but AirPrint seems unstable. With my previous brother printer, I did not have any issues. With this one, the printer does not show up with AirPrint, I have to do a mix of on/off, using different devices to try to 'wake it up' and then it works great for a while.

Everything works great. Faster than my old one but the photo print quality leaves something to be desired. The photos aren't clear - have a milky tinge to them. That's what is disappointing.

Just the Upgrade Needed...simple and it just works
This unit replaced a long-time HP printer following. Needed to replace, and Brothers has had a good reputation for years, so reviewed and decided on this model (MFCJ4335DW). In summary, this has been a very needed and enjoyable upgrade. Super easy to install (very intuitive, effective instructions). Really like the larger ink cartridge setup. The color is very good (just lots of personal docs mostly...use at least 1-2 times/ week). Perhaps my favorite outcome is the seamless, wireless printing that has been bulletproof! Last printer would get hung up routinely. I have also used to scan; just be aware that it scans one-sided only. No big deal once you know. I would absolutely recommend and buy it again.

There is no jump drive. You can't turn paper landscape to have it correct. You can only turn it portrait. I bought it as a small version to take with me and I had to swap them out with my larger one because it is just not adequate. I have been using brother printers for 16 years and I will definitely look a lot closer next time. This machine is inferior you your quality.

I didn't realize how MUCH I needed this printer!
My Older printer had problems and would no longer let me reload the install programs (not even from the original disk). So I looked into printers at a reasonable price. The reviews told me what I wanted to know, and I chose this Brother printer. 1. Brother has come a LONG way since they started--they are great now. My HP printer showed me the company was no longer reliable for my support needs, and their prices were nowhere near comparable for the Brother ones. This printer does double-sided printing which has been a life-saver for me. I normally have a horrible time doing my taxes for our business and ourselves (we're in our late 70s). When I needed the various State & Federal documents this printed them quietly & quickly. It has large paper feed, and feeds a pile of pages from the top, too. This printer comes right on (no thinking as if it needed a cuppa coffee). No paper jams, the colors are great, the print quality is highly readable, and I scanned in some old photos I had from China (ca. 1898) on high resolution--OUTSTANDING! The ink reservoirs which came with the printer (wow!) are easy to load and have hardly budged (except for the black, after printing out a year's bank statements and all the tax forms repeatedly) even though I've gone through most of a pack of printing paper. I can say, without a doubt, this is the printer I really needed. It cut my tax preparations & stress levels way down, and has made me a Brother convert. I am more than just impressed, this printer is way beyond any expectations I had, and at a great price, too. I am now looking at their sewing machines... I HIGHLY recommend this Brother printer--I would give it 10 stars if I could, and a gold medal for Excellence. Thank you, Brother, for lowering my stresses and raising my happiness to do all sorts of printing jobs which are no longer a chore. I will be printing on special papers next, including a type which has a thin layer of cotton on it so I can iron them on to make flags with photos/drawings and writing. Then I will test special photo papers. The sky's the limit with this amazingly well-designed machine. It does Faxes, too, if you want, and connects effortlessly to my wi-fi (probably my cell phones, too).

Great Printer for the money
Had to replace my brother printer. I got many good years of reliability but it just gave out. Researched some of the other printers but kept coming back to Brother and this model was similar to what I had and the price was in line to what I wanted to pay. Easy install, no wires to connect except from the fax machine to the router everything else is wireless. Well the printer is so fast, clean and clear, scanning is easy and sending a fax is spot on. Hoping I’ll get many good years with this printer like I got from my last Brother product. I highly recommend Brother for an All In One machine for you home / office needs.

My Old Printer Died / Love the New One
I love my new MFC-J4335DW. I loved my previous 10 year old Brother printer, but it finally gave up the ghost. There is a season for everything. The new printer is easier to communicate with. Has more features which I am slowly learning. I'm not a computer genius, but so far I feel very comfortable with the user interface and pleased with the printing qualities of the equipment.

Although the printer is much quicker than it’s predecessor a Cannon it does not have as many features in the print que making it difficult to print booklets and multiple page reports. Set up was ok but print que is also slower with wireless than direct cabeling. Direct cabeling is difficult as to location of plug under unit.

I will be compleetely honest with you. I bought this printer from Amazon andd it was reassonably priced and cam with a years worzth of free ink. During sset up, when I went to set up an account with the ink provider, they said it did not come with free ink and that I had to take it up with Amazon. I completely feel mislead. The printer itself does the job okay but multiple paper prints end up on the floor. As an older peerson, this is a negative being it is hard to pick up papers off the floor.

Excellent all in one printer. Only draw back is the cost of ink cartridges. But refilling may be tolerable. Quite fast and easy to set up. Cord to USB is in a rather unique place but wifi works fine.

It’s a great little printer, fast and easy to navigate. However , it needs a reset button. After clearing things like a paper jam am forced to unplug and plug in again to reset printer even though the actions were completed. It’s also difficult to find ink cartridges. They are always out of stock? What’s up with that? This is the greater revenue stream , why aren’t these available on Amazon or Staples? Disappointing if you really need ink in an emergency.

I love this printer and I did my research.
I had gotten tired of the inkjet cartridge scam at the largest inkjet printer company in the world. I have been a loyal customer for decades, and finally had enough. I did hours and hours of research and settled on this brother printer. Out of the box it worked great. it is frugal on Inc. but the quality is still there. It has been easy to work with. I had it for a year and there was a paper jam error message that I was unable to clear. I called Brother and they sent me a new one because it was still under warranty. That’s the only reason I took one star away from them.
I would recommend this printer to anyone else looking for, a high-quality budget, printer, multi, functional and conservative on ink. The initial cartridges did last me a year. However, I don’t print that much. I will say this cell compared to other printers made by companies that are the largest in the world. The cartridges lasted significantly longer. I would’ve probably been through three cartridges by now with the other company. Even though there was a hiccup, I will remain with Brother going forward. One last note, the customer service was awesome. The chat person was super helpful. They made sure I couldn’t fix the problem. They shipped out a replacement the next day, and I was very satisfied.

Does not print 11" x 17" paper anymore
I've always liked Brothers compact home / office printers / scanners, because of the print photo quality and they print up to a 11" x 17" sheet of paper. I am a residential landscape designer & most of the time that is big enough so I can print to a 1/8" scale. This time the salesmen at the store I bought from, was not trained properly & thought the MFC-J4335DW still printed that size. It turns out they don't and so I had to return it and buy a different brand. It's too bad, because I liked the bigger ink cartridges that can last up to a year & are cheaper than the one I was replacing.

A friend recommended this printer to me. It actually has buttons to press, no touch screen to worry about. Lot of menus to figure out and need to follow directions, but a good printer never the less. For light printing, tray is only 150 pages. Can scan from computer or scanner to computer.

If you only can have one printer, choose this one.
I recently had to downsize my living/working quarters. I regretfully had to get rid of my Brother color laser printer, still fairly new, which was too big for my new space. This new Brother MFC-J4335DW fills basically the same needs but at one third the size. The ink technology is also very impressive especially when compared to previous inkjet printers I had. This is a must have for quality and wireless printing, copying, faxing and scanning. Perfect for a small office at home.

Excellent, easy to use printer.
I bought this printer in a hurry when my previous one died just before I was going out of town, but I am very pleased with it. The print quality is excellent, and the speed a revelation after my old Canon; it wakes up in no time, prints fast and then closes down without delay. It's as tedious to set up as any other printer I've bought, but once done it's Print and Scan software are outstandingly simple to use and very functional. My one caveat is that it doesn't have a straight-through paper path; all paper has to be fed from the tray under it, which means that it has trouble with multiple sheets of peel-off labels. Other than that, excellent.

Works Well In A Small Business Environment
Works well in work environment wirelessly with 3 different computers with provided internet very well. Easy to use and set up. I like that Brother printers' inks last a long time and are less expensive than their competitors. The ink sources are also very large so you don't have to change them very often. It is very well made so I'm hope it lasts a lot longer without problems versus their competitors.

This won me over!
I had been very loyal to another brand; however, I am very pleased with the reliable, fast and quiet printing this has provided. I use this machine to print, copy and I even used it to FAX (which I had not done in years). I am pleased with all of those operations.
I do have a recommendation for anyone purchasing this machine - get a printer USB cable and connect it a laptop for setup and changing settings - it will be much easier.

I love this printer, absolutely love it. There is just one thing and I think that is me, not the printer. I can't get it to scan directly from the printer....and I can't understand all the directions on how to make that happen. This printer looks nice, feels nice and solidly built, easy to use, easy to load paper, comes with a year's worth of ink.

Brother Printer for Home Use

Ok unless you want a wireless connection
Took a couple of hours to set up because of issues finding my network - then it worked for a couple of weeks but now keeps disconnecting from wi-fi. When I try to reconnect, it has trouble finding my network - it can find the network of my next-door neighbor and the people across the street, but not the one in my house. The previous printer was in the exact same location (as was my router) for years without a wi-fi issue. It's probably ok if you have a wired connection to your PC (the prints are fine when it does print) but think twice if you want to use it wirelessly.

Not user friendly

So far, so good.
Great improvement over the HP product it replaced. It is quiet in operation and prints clearly and quickly. I am "wait and see" regarding the ink supply, but have been favorably impressed that the supply eappears to be be holding up well..

Little disappointed
Little disappointed because this machine is more complicated than my other machine from brother. Also the keys are real small and you can hardly read them. I do like the the printer cartridges.

4 months in and still happy with it.
We’ve had this for about 4 months. So far I really like it. It is reasonably quiet compared to past printers I have owned. According to the ink levels, we’ve used about 15-25% of the colors. So these cartridges may last a year which os great since they are expensive. It is quick. So far no complaints.

Great little printer.
Great little printer. My first wireless printer, and I love being able to send print jobs from anywhere in the house. The downside: very tiny display, hard to read.

Worth every penny!
I have used HP and Dell brands in the past. Very laggy printing and wireless issues, but this Brother is by far the best home office printer I've had. The wireless aspect works flawlessly with all of my devices. Prints very fast. Good color resolution.

Stay Away Unless You Are a Tech Superstar
The difficulty in setting up the machine's WiFi and it's default to 2.4 GHz, coupled with the near impossibility of setting it to 5 GHz without a network admin background made this a terrible purchase.

Prints great, but...
Had to call Support when printer wouldn't print envelopes, they walked me thru uninstalling & reinstalling drivers. Now it prints envelopes, but PC no longer recognizes fax feature. Are drivers that unstable?

Good everyday printer
After a couple of months of use, we're pleased with this new printer. It is faster and quieter than the competitor printer it replaced. Time will tell re ink usage, but first impressions are very positive.

Best Printer I Have Ever Purchased
Printers always seem to be a problem in some way, that being said I just love my Brother Printer.
The first tine i looked at Brother Printers was for the Food Cupboard I am involved with and I purchased a Laser black and white printer which has fulfilled our needs wonderfully. So when I needed a new printer for my personal use I looked at Brother.
It was easy to set up and use. The ink that came with it has lasted me a long time. I have printed documents that did not work well with other printers with ease. If I have any complaint it is with having to use the printer password to do any updates, but it is a minor inconvenience. I would definitely buy this printer again.

The devil is in the details. Meet his spawn.
I am not tech savvy and needed a low-maintenance printer with set-up directions even someone like me could understand. This printer required more time, as I would get stuck at some point, attempt to get either online help or through a telephone representative, which proved just as frustrating. I walked away from the setup process for days at a time before returning to eventually finish it.

Watch out for McAfee software with Printer
Had to install virus protection to my laptop in order to install printer drive. McAfee tried several times to force me to purchase very expensive software with dubious intent! Not a good experience. Effected my opinion of the printer overall- unfortunately!

Outstanding Printer
Purchased many printers over the years but my new Brother printer, MFC-J4335DW, is the best ever. Outstanding print quality, ink and set-up. Only problem was, locating one to purchase. Will purchase another as a holiday gift.

Great printer, but
Great printer when it's doing what you want of it. It's difficult to use without a manual in hand. The one on line is so confusing, I gave up on it. Customer support stinks! Can't even get hold of anyone!

Great home printer!
The printer was reasonably priced based on the features. Setup was easy other than getting it set up from Brother to receive updates. Overall I would recommend the printer to others based on price, features and ink cost.

Happy with all features
Since my old printer was acting up, I knew I needed a new one. I researched the new tank printers, as I love the idea of no more cartridges. However, they seem to have issues with a sponge that absorbs excess ink and eventually renders the printer redundant. The Brother hybrid (tank / cartridge) seemed the best compromise. I was also swayed in that my mother has a Brother (cartridge) printer that has worked very well for many, many years and her print needs are often similar to my own. The final draw was the fax. I needed a fax right as I was looking for a printer. That seems to be a feature that is fading away. I don't need one often, but this now takes the worry out of trying to find one. The fax works great, by the way. I'm so far quite impressed with the print quality and speed. This is strictly for home use and I am not a heavy user, but for my needs, this printer is so far meeting the job just fine!

Ok copier but cant use as a printer.
Ok printer if I could only get it to connect to my WIFI. Cannot get it to connect at all. tried everything. The menu screen is very cumbersome - like to just change the time after DST required me to go to YouTube to figure it out.

Less than stellar design, but worth the price.
The design of this printer scanner has 2 drawbacks.
First while the printer will do duplex copy (scan and print 2 sided multi page documents) it won't scan 2 sided documents using the feeder and any scanning software I've found.
Second, the small display and the small buttons with low contrast labels (gray with white) require grabbing a pair of reading glasses to operate.
Print quality is good.
Perhaps you can use software and or firmware to solve the first issue. The second could be considered for future models.

Good printer for the money
Good printer. Fairly quick and quiet. More reliable than others I have had from HP. The only downside is that when scanning, there isn't a port available to scan to a thumb drive

Brother makes good quality merchandise
I purchased this printer on the recommendation of a salesman at Staples and am very happy for his guidance and I'm glad I chose to listen to him. I replaced a Lexmark printer that was a piece of garbage and before that two HP printers that were terrible performers and a waste of my money.

Paper handling, software not so great
Print quality good. Paper handling not so good. Get paper jams if I put heavier stock in tray of normal stock. Also, must fully load envelope tray to avoid paper jams. Software weak. Would like the ability to create named collections of settings (e.g. photo paper, high quality).

Prints great text but not for photos.
Nice printer and features but not great for photos. I selected this printer because of text quality, ink tank and price. I have used Epson printers for over 30 years but because of price and no longer need photo quality anymore I decided to try the Brother printers.

Jams Frequently
We purchased this printer because we were tired of expensive ink.While the ink promise is true. The quality of the print is OK. The major issue is paper weight. This printer will not print front and back on card stock. The other issue is that it jams all the time with basic printer paper. It's quite frustrating to have a paper jam but be unable to locate where the jam is to fix it. I'm ready to get out a screwdriver and take the thing apart looking for small pieces of paper that are apparently stuck somewhere.

Fast, good quality printing at a fair price
I've been a Brother All-in-One printer user for over 20 years both in the U.S. and abroad. Recently, I purchased this Model MFC-J4335DW. It's fast, easy to use and program, and the color is excellent. I can recommend it to others and would buy it again.
