Brother's ADS-2700W Wireless High-speed Desktop Document Scanner offers fast and secure document digitization through wired/wireless networking and easy-to-use color touchscreen. It scans stacks of double-sided, color and Black & White materials up to 35ppm (Color and monochrome scan speed, LTR at 300dpi) in a single pass with its 50-page capacity auto document feeder and offers continuous scanning of additional pages. Its unique space-saving design accommodates smaller workspaces and security features support controlled scanner access by individual/scanning function and secure network protocols. The ADS-2700W scans to multiple destinations including File / Image / OCR (when connected to a PC with applicable software), Email, Network, USB flash drive (USB flash memory drive sold separately), and mobile devices (Requires connection to wireless network). Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed (Serious Connection Issues) I'm truly disappointed with the setup process of this scanner. I have two laptops (a MAC and a Windows and I wanted to install the software on both laptops for ease of use. I could get one or the other to work but not both laptops. I decided to share the folder on my Macbook with my Windows and that worked (temporarily). When it worked it's a great scanner! I say "When" because intermittently, I would loose connection to my WiFi or my MacBook wouldn't recognize the scanner for no reason at all. The setup process isn't very logically and right now I can't get it to connect with my MacBook. I have order a Type A to B USB connector to see if that will work better, however that defeats the purpose of being wireless. I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication from brother on their setup process. Again WHEN IT WORKS IT'S GREAT Thus the 2 stars and not 1.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inconsistent Scans I use this on a daily basis and would like to scan and go, but instead I have to scan, check if it scanned, if not repeat the scan and check. Sometimes 10 page scan needs to be broken down into 2 scans. Customer support response was some items are prohibited like currency, I'm not scanning currency. I paid good money for this scanner because my other Brother MFC J6500 is hands down best multi function and expected the same here, disappointed.

Wireless features is nice to have but at times it does work and other times doesn’t seem to connect. Overall, I’m very happy with this product!

Short of machines that cost about three times that the ADS-2700W goes for, there isn't any machine that has these features. The only additional feature it lacks is flatbed scanning.

I even contacted customer support to make sure I understood clearly that this brand new scanner couldn't perform this simple task of attaching a scan to the email software we use. Get the Epson ES-400 instead. It's DocCapture software is great.

If you need a part, it’s going to be impossible to get, and the customer service is not really friendly and accommodative. They are not there to solve the problem. Item: Brother ADS-2700W Scanner Ease of Use: I scan hundreds of CV`s and resumes daily I need a scanner that is quick, efficient and can handle stacks of papers that once. The Brother ADS-2700 scanner exceeded my expectations for such a small portable scanner. Out of the Box: Right out of the box you have everything you need to get set up fast. Once you attach the tray and power cords you`re good to go! It comes with an easy-to-follow manual just in case you need to reference it, but it is fairly self-explanatory with the color screen and easy to follow buttons. Multiple Options: I like the multiple options you have for connectivity. Either through USB, wireless, or through your network. I happen to choose an ethernet cord connected to my network and is soon as I open my laptop it popped up open on my screen and I literally was ready to start scanning straightaway. It couldn`t have been easier. Speed: The speed was very impressive. It was considerably faster than my previous scanner-handling about 20 pages in less than 10 seconds. Just save even more time, it can scan two sides without having to flip them over. Portability: I work from home and do not have a "workstation" as such, so I need something I can pull out and put away daily. While this was a bit heavier than expected, it is certainly easy to store and pull out without taking up too much space or being bulky. Overall: I was extremely impressed with the speed, size, and ease-of-use and portability. Problems: The only problem I have noticed is how precise you have to be when loading the papers however the guides included are very helpful. Also the price seems a bit high, however a very easy sell if it`s on sale-I certainly wouldn`t pass this up. It has proven to assist me in doubling my productivity! I couldn`t live without it at this point and become my go-to device!

Traditional scanning is time consuming - each sheet needs to be placed manually facedown on the scanner panel. I particularly found this scanning method tedious for bulk scanning. Scanning pages of booklets, scripts, bulk photos and receipts would take me hours, so I decided to try a new sort of scanner - I was however weary and was prepared to return the product. Firstly, the ADS-2700w takes up less room than my old scanner (and it looks pretty good so I was pleased to free up some table top space. It was a little overwhelming to start but the instructions are quite well laid out so it didn`t take long to get used to the new set up and machine.The ADS-27000w is very fast and does make scanning much easier - better than I had anticipated. It`s less hassle, less time consuming, low noise and the scan quality is clean and perfect every time. I would say purchasing a scanner like this would be recommended over the more traditional models with a panel. Even if you are looking to scan single sheets, it`s equally as effective.

For someone who isn`t a big fan of clutter, this didn`t take up much space on my desk- and looked neat/clean. Set up was extremely straightforward- literally less than 5 minutes, no fuss. This is a great device for a small business- or anyone that scans on a regular basis. You can hook it up to your Mac or PC or use it wireless. This scanner scanned quickly, black & white and color. Again- an great quality, no fuss device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little workhorse document scanner! I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. ASSEMBLY: Super easy to assemble as I only needed to attach the back document feeder easily snapped into the main body. The front receiver of the scanner simply unfolds three times to be set up. The power cord was provided and plugs into the back area. However, there was no USB cord provided to connect it to the computer, so I had to look for a spare one to use. But if you set up the wifi so that it connects to your computer or mobile devices, then there really is no need for physical connect at all. CONNECTING TO COMPUTER: For some reason, I had some issues setting up the driver software, so it took me a few tries, and actually going to search for the driver on the company`s website, before I was able to download the driver that actually worked to allow it to connect to my computer. After it got set up though, it was really easy to use. The user`s manual is quite dearth in information and doesn`t talk much about the many features of the scanner. But I was able to go through the different features using the interface screen. PHYSICAL ASPECTS: This is such a tiny space-saving scanner that will fit on any desk, making it convenient to have at your side for whenever you need to scan things. Completely set up, it only takes the space of two 8.5" x 11" sheets of paper placed side to side. I`ve actually never seen suck a compact scanner that also has a document feeder. It is not heavy either, but heavy enough so that it is very stable. The front tray becomes a little thin as you unfold, and actually looks a bit flimsy. But when you feel it, it is quite strong and sturdy enough when I tried scanning the maximum 50 sheets you can feed at one time, into the scanner. But I am still careful to make sure that I do not accidentally knock it too much since the small plastic connection pieces keeping it together might get damaged. USAGE: There are days when I need to scan in a ton of documents and previous scanners I have used were just not very fast nor simple to use. It was such a breeze to stick 50 sheets into the back feeder, choose the location I want it sent to, and then the start button. It took less than 2 minutes to scan everything. The first time I did this, I actually thought there would be mistakes or pages not scanned, because I didn`t believe that it would be able to do everything so fast. But I was wrong, and happy about it too, because not only were all the documents clearly scanned, but they were also conveniently saved as a pdf file, allowing me to send them off to the client right away! What a time saver this machine is. PROBLEMS: As much as I love this scanner, I did not feel that it worked as well (compared to other scanners I have used when I need to scan in very high quality images. The maximum resolution allowed for images is 600dpi, which is fairly low for my line of work. The colors do not scan in as bright as the originals, and when I scan in images found in magazines or newspapers, there is no option for descreening the images, which would remove the weird lines on the images. But that is fine, because I know to use my other scanner when I need to scan in high quality images, and to use this scanner when I need quick document scanning. Another small issue with the interface screen, is that when I accidentally push the wrong button or option, I would have to let it run through before being allowed to go back in order to selevt the right one. This doesn`t usually happen, but when I am in a rush, I sometimes push things fast and make more wrong / accidental choices. PRICE: I felt that the price is a little on the higher end, compared to other scanners I have gotten. I would recommend this, despite the higher price, if you need to scan in a lot of documents everyday, because it really is worth the time saved and the quality of the scans. This efficient little machine has earned a long-term stay at my office desk!

I love that this scanner took up minimal space on my desk. The instructions for set up were easy to follow, and assembily was really fast; I was able to set it up in minutes. I really like the touch screen LCD on the scanner because I don`t have to push hard on the buttons at all. Scanning was rather fast. I liked that I was easily able to scan multiple pages. I also liked that the scanner did not produce that annoying whirring sound - that had been an issue for me with my old scanner. The quality of the scanned images was great. The ability to scan to mobile devices is very convenient. I especially loved the ability to remove blank pages within documents; this had been a huge issue with my old scanner. Overall, I would definitely recommend this scanner for a home office or small business. My only complaint is that I wish it was a different color other than white, but that`s just me being picky.

I found the features I needed from a brand I trust. I already have a Brother printer and label maker so adding this scanner was an easy decision for me. This is exactly what I needed to get through the paperwork mountain I had created by telling myself I'll get to scanning on the flatbed scanner eventually. Now, scanning is easy and fast.

I think that this is a very easy machine to use, and a lot of users across the spectrum of technical savvy could benefit from it. It was very easy to assemble and set up, instruction book was clear and easy to understand. The one issue I had is that I don`t have a lot of space, so I struggled finding a permanent home for it and may benefit from a hand scanner instead. But I really do like it, and find the document feeding on the top to be really helpful. The wireless feature is, at this point, necessary and much appreciated. It`s a little slow, but that`s ok, the scans look very nice. My big project was cataloguing collages/glossy magazine photos and it worked very nicely to get that done.

Packaging: I was very impressed by how well the scanner was protected. There was a very small chance the scanner could have been damaged during shipping and that put my mind at ease once it arrived. Assembly: Set up was super easy. Each piece was packaged individually and easy to unwrap. Once plugged in, setting up wireless was a breeze. The instructions are helpful and it only took a few minutes to get the scanner up and running properly. I also connected straight to my laptop and I liked the ease of that much better. Size: It`s so compact! I was expecting something so much bigger but the size is great for a small or large work area because you can easily push it to the side, or store it away until it is needed again. Usability: Very user-friendly. No problems with set-up or instructions. Expectations: I was expecting something much larger and bulkier but I got a cute, compact machine. It was perfect for my work area. Improvements: The machine is great but a nice upgrade would be a rechargeable battery so that it is usable on the road or cramped areas few wall sockets. Overall: I am obsessed with this little machine! I was able to get rid of THREE folders of "important papers". They are now all labeled, sorted and electronically stored.

It scanned documents and photos quickly. I enjoyed the fact that I could put up to 50 sheets of paper in the scanner to auto scan. This product is good for home and office use. It did a good job of organizing my files. This scanner did a great job of scanning both sides of a sheet at the same time. This scanner worked well with Wi-Fi. 3 D scanning was not available. This scanner was able to send my scanned documents to my cloud storage and my cell phone. This scanner had a lower resolution than other scanners so it was better scanning text than pictures.

The Brother ADS-2700W has all the scanning basis covered. This compact desktop scanner supports USB, wired and wireless operation, and represents excellent value, too.Here`s a rundown on the basics:STORAGE: My office lacked space for what I thought would be a large scanner but when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised. It fit perfectly on the corner of my desk and barely took up room, even with the tray extended. It`s not bulky or too large and is the perfect size for a home office or even a large office.ASSEMBLY: Installation doesn`t get any easier than this! After connecting the cable from the scanner to my power source and connecting the backside paper holder, I was ready to go. I honestly thought I was missing pieces because it was so easy to assemble. Once the cables were in place I was ready to personalize the settings. The fact that it`s touch screen made it even easier and almost fun to do. I set up the time, date, and then chose the wireless connection option. I`m not super techy but even I was able to get through the prompts without feeling lost and confused. They also have an option for a USB cable connection which I did try and was even easier to connect to, but personally, I loved the wireless connection and chose to stay with that. Once I had that set up, I installed the driver-the link is in the booklet they send you-and I was ready to go!FAVORITE FEATURE: I actually have a few favorite features that I haven`t been able to find with other scanners that I`ve used in the past. The main one is that I love the speed of it! I can`t stress enough how amazing it is. It`s super fast for either one sided documents or double sided documents. It also scans in color which is pretty great too. Another favorite feature is that it`s touch screen. It makes going through prompts a lot easier and faster. Other scanners that I`ve used all had buttons and if you missed your choice in the prompts you`d have to keep pushing the button until your option came back up again. I love that I don`t have a problem with this scanner!PROBLEMS: I didn`t encounter any problems with this scanner itself or the assembly of it. I`m very pleased with the product and the installation process.Overall, I`d recommend this scanner to anyone who has an office or even a student in high-school or college. It`s light weight, compact, easy to use, scans documents very fast, and it`s so easy to put together. Gone are the days where it would take minutes at a time to scan a double sided paper! Love it!

Storage-I participated in a Market research study and received this product to evaluate. My desk has very limited space for anything extra. I was looking for something small and compact that scans documents quickly and clearly. This scanner is the perfect size for a crowded desk. I can slide it to the corner of my desk and it will not be in the way. Assembly-It was super easy to install the software on my computer. No disk or long drawn out instructions were needed. I just plugged everything in and there it was!!! Problems-My main complaints with this product is that there are not many setting to choose from. I would like the ability to change if I want it to scan front and back or one or the other. I did not see that option. Also, there is a problem keeping it connected to the internet so that I can scan the documents directly to my lap top. That may or may not be an issue with the network in my office. Overall-I think this works well in my office and will work well in others. It scans much faster than the all in one I have in the office. It is kind of expensive, but I think it will be well worth the money.

I participated in a market research study and received this Brother ADS-2700W Wireless High-speed Desktop Scanner to evaluate. This scanner is compact and fits nicely on my desk, in my home office. The scanner comes with a very descriptive set up guide. It does take a little bit of time to set up, but the instructions are very easy to follow. You have the option to use the scanner with a computer and also with a mobile device. This scanner is simple to operate. I really like the speed in which the product scans. In addition, you are able to place 50 pages in the document feeder to be scanned. The color and clarity of the pages is excellent. My previous scanner did not have the capability to scan 50 pages and the was a lot slower. Using this scanner, I did not encounter any problems. I found this scanner to be a bit on the expensive side. However, with that being said, I would still recommend it due to its high functionality and compactness.

Works well and fast and really easy to use! Instructions are really easy to comprehend so it was a fast and easy set up. I`ve used other scanners before and they`re a lot slower than this one. Its nice and compact for being an advance scanner. My favorite thing it does is it scans business cards, receipts & pictures really well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that scans anything often.

The brother scanner is very small and compact so it doesn`t take up a lot of space in my home office which is an amazing asset to me. I don`t have a ton of desk space because of all of the additional equipment I need for my photography needs. Assembly: The product comes packed in Styrofoam inside its package and is very simple to assemble. When you open the box you will see an instruction manual, power cord, and feed tray that you have to attach onto the scanner. There isn`t any software inside the box but according to the manual you can go to the brother website to download the software on your own. Assembling the product takes less than five minutes. Function: With having a home office and needing to scan contracts from clients into my computer I need a scanner that is fast an efficient. I did encounter a few issues keeping the scanner wireless connection to my computer but this may have been an issue with my service provider. I ended up having to directly connect the scanner to my computer for the fastest connection. Without being directly connected it took up to two minutes per page to upload on my computer. Set-up on the scanners touch screen was easy and sifting through the various menus on the screen was a breeze. The quality of the scans was like no other scanner and the images came out very crisp and clear. Price: I personally thought the price was a little high for the scanner because of the connection issues that I encountered and felt like I could get faster results with an all in one printer but I am sure that as more people purchase the scanner updates will be released that make its functioning wirelessly more stable. Overall: This scanner makes a great addition to any office if you can over look the flaws you may encounter. I love that you have the option to can to your wireless devices so you can take your scans on the go. It takes up very little space so it fits perfectly into any small home office with limited space. Over time I am sure this scanner will work even better with my home office and it comes from a well trusted brand and company that I have used for years. I am hoping to be able to use the wireless function more in the future and I am going to continue to evaluate if its a problem from my service provider or on my computer causing the scanner to function so slowly or if its an issue with the scanner itself.If I am able to get the product to fully function at the speed I was convinced I would get I will increase the rating on my review and update it.

First, when I received the package and opened the scanner I thought it was actually a really cute scanner for my cubicle at work, not to big and not too small. When I got to work I was actually very excited to set up my scanner. It seemed very straight forward and like it would be a basic, quick download... boy was I WAS WRONG! There was no CD to make it a quick set-up, I had to go to the Brother website to download the software I needed to set up the scanner, that itself took me about an hour. Then, I tried to set the scanner as wireless, and I was having an issue with that. That was about another hour or so. Finally, once I actually set the scanner up, I tried downloading the Brother scanner app to make it easier to scan and THAT was giving me an issue. Almost 3 1/2 hours later the scanner is set up and running, but for some reason I cant press the button on the scanner to scan to my computer, I have to do it from my computer. Overall, I really do like the scanner, I just feel that they could have provided us with a CD to install and make it convenient to the customers that don`t have all day to set up. I think that would have resolved all of these extra issues that I was having.

My experience using the software with Evernote has been disappointing. I am actually using a phone app instead for tax season.

We love it`s size and how it doesn`t take up much room on the desk. It was easy to complete the initial setup and connect it to the wifi. Our favorite feature is scanning to email. This was a bit more difficult to set up considering we aren`t IT people, but it wasn`t too bad. The quality of the scans are really good, the scanner is quick and the file arrives in our email fast. We really would like to be able to use the wireless scan to computer feature, but we can`t figure out how to set it up even after reading through the manual and looking online. We will need an IT person to come set that up for us. Overall this is a great little scanner and we would recommend it to others.

App keeps showing "machine" is "offline" even when it's on. Tried troubleshooting, uninstalling, re-installing, re-booting.... Terrible. Still not fixed and no live help.

When I first got the scanner, the box was so light weight and I was thinking that there must be something missing. However, once opening the box and checking the instruction booklet to see all parts were included, I realized that the scanner was just light weight and compact. I am terrible and putting together things from scratch, but this scanner was so easy to assemble. I followed along with the directions for the initial set up and was able to set this scanner up in less than 15 minutes. It was very self-explanatory. Super easy assembly as well! My favorite part about this scanner is how small and compact it is. I work at home three days out of the week and am constantly scanning in documents and the quality of this scanner is really good. You can scan in color or black and white. It scans very fast! I was able to scan a ten page document in less than 20 seconds, where previously my scanner took FOREVER. Compared to other scanners, this one was a dream. I love how you can download the Brother`s app and send pdf documents right to your phone. You can basically function the entire scanner from an app on your phone. This made things so much easier to scan documents directly to my work email for when I am working at home and then finish what I had to do on my computer and attach it to any email I wanted. If you don`t want to use it with the app, you can use it on wireless or you can use it as a standalone scanner, so it is very versatile. Overall, I would recommend this scanner to anyone that works from home and needs to be able to scan, or for someone that owns their own business and has a home office. I would even recommend it for a small place of business.

Has helped eliminate a lot of the paper clutter around here. Love the two-sided scanning capability and the scan quality is pretty good. Would definitely recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Think This One Was a Lemon I am a die-hard Brother product user. But my ADS-2700W had numerous issues: The worst being constant pausing during scanning. The pause would then time out and I had to start over. A project that should have taken only a few minutes ended up taking nearly an hour. I had to return it. And returning a Brother product was a first for me.

One day it works, an hour later, no way... Machine says "connected", computer can't find it. Then it works out of the blue and is terrific from there out. Fix the connectivity and it would be six stars!

My prior scanner always had a problem with wireless network connectivity. The ADS-2700W connected to my WiFi network without a hitch. Brother also provides software that adds functionality to the scanner but I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. I highly recommend this scanner.

The Brother ADS-2700W has exceeded my expectations. It has a very small footprint when closed up but it able to handle documents of all sizes and at one time. It doesn't jam and is much faster than I expected. The software is straight forward to use and works well. Loving the product so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MacOS Big Sur users beware! Do NOT consider buying the Brother ADS-2700W if you are working on macOS Big Sur and would like to have a WiFi connection to the scanner. It doesn't work won't work in future (stated by the Brother's tech support. Although I was checking whether a scanner works with a Mac OS when I was choosing the scanner to buy, I didn't come across explicit mentioning the ADS-2700W deficiency in supporting WiFi for the macOS Big Sur As an example, the Brother webpage for the ADS-2700W reads: ABOUT THE PRODUCT: "The ADS-2700W is compatible with Windows, Mac®; and Linux®; and TWAIN/SANE/WIA for PC drivers." Main Features: "Flexibility to integrate with your business processes/systems. Supports Windows®, Mac® and Linux® environments and TWAIN/SANE/WIA for PC drivers‡." It makes an impression of sneakiness and misleading advertising. The Brother Tech Support is mediocre: works by script and doesn't know the product. It took me at least an hour of conversation with two different representatives to find out that the scanner WiFi is not working with the Big Sur. Also I'd like to mention that the User Manual is not very helpful and, in my opinion, interface and set up looks like created 10 years ago and never revamped. I am quite disappointed because I purchased the ADS-2700W specifically because it had a wireless connection. Unfortunately it is not correct for the macOS Big Sur. Unfortunately it doesn't work with the macOS Big Sur.
