Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ok.....will NOT stay connected to WiFi I bought this to use with my laptop, so the wifi feature was one of the key selling points. For the price I paid for this, I should not have so many issues. It's very difficult to understand the setup instructions. Emails to support were not clear, and they did not give me the correct instructions. I ended up figuring it out for myself.....after having the scanner for 2 days. Worked great....for awhile. For the last week I cannot get this thing to connect to wifi. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled......and uninstalled and reinstalled again. No clue what to do at this point. It's not my network....my Brother printer has stayed connected. It's an issue with the scanner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only one drawback The feeder mechanism quite often pulls more than one sheet. Also, things don’t always scan straight- they are a bit cocked over to one side or the other. I love how you can add more pages to a scan and I love how you can put each scan in its proper folder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficient & Productive If you are on the go like I am and need to copy a bunch of documents or just a few, this is the scanner you cannot do without. It's portable and efficient. Scan a few the battery power will be there, scan a whole lot plug it in and you can scan the whole day, its just an exaggeration but you can. Another feature which I like is the duplex capability. It can do all that in one pass! And by the way did I mention the speed? You will love the ADS-1250W.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Difficult To Setup! So far I have not been able to get this scanner set up on my laptop or on my WiFi network. When I try to download the software and drivers on my laptop I keep getting the message that one of the files may be harmful to my computer. When I try to install this on my WiFi network it will not connect. This has been truly disappointing.

This scanner arrived in a larger than expected box, so I was expecting it to be large upon opening it. To my surprise, this scanner is the perfect size and is easy to fit among my other office equipment and the limited space I have available. Set up and actual use of the product was fairly easy and uncomplicated. I prefer the wireless option for scanning as its easier for me and makes for less cords among everything else on my desk. I was pleasantly surprised by this product and will definitely recommend it to my small business owner friends and acquaintances.

DESIGN: The small footprint of the Brother ADS-1250W makes it easy to tuck away on a crowded desktop, and the foldable tray and feeder make it easy to travel with, without the fear of breaking it. The buttons and connections were all well-labeled and easy to figure out without instructions.FUNCTION: Once I located a USB cord that would work with the device (not included in the package I was able to connect it to my laptop. Although I preferred to use it wirelessly, a connection to a computer is needed to set up the wireless connection. The only issues I encountered while scanning with the device came when trying to feed thin or irregular shapes. I frequently need to scan receipts for expense report, and scanning them has always been a pain point. Unfortunately this scanner sometimes struggled to feed receipts without jamming them. As long as I fed normal letter-size paper individually, the scanner performed well. With multiple pages, the odds of failure and jamming increased.

It`s quick, easy and compact. It was a breeze to set up, it whipped through a stack of paper in no time and my pages were double sided! It was extremely efficient and it didn`t jam. The scans are also crystal clear, great quality. I was seriously impressed! Not to mention I didn`t have to install any software. It`s also wireless which makes it even better! This scanner is perfect for the busy professional on the go, lightweight, and easily portable. I`d recommend it to anyone!

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. The Brother BV desktop scanner is small and compact, which makes it perfect for a desktop scanner. It was easy to set up install on my laptop. I opted to use the scanner wirelessly and it connected to my wifi easily with no complications. I scanned a variety of documents for work and all passed through the scanner effortlessly and were completely legible on the computer. Even wrinkly gas receipts which can wad up and jam passed though easily and did not give a "wrinkled" appearance on computer. I was able to scan multiple pages at once, which is helpful.Overall, this scanner is very nice for a desktop machine. The company size is great and the quality of the images once scanned are top notch. I would recommend this scanner for anyone needing something compact that does not need to scan large quantities at a time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brother scanner ADS-1250W I purchased this scanner over a year ago for my business. After several months, ordered a second one. The main reasons I picked this scanner: ability to scan both sides, in color, and is wireless. There are many options for scanning the quality & type you want - and very easy to change all the scan options on your screen. It's easy to setup multiple specific workflow settings (1 sided, pdf black & white; 2 sided color, pdf or jpeg, etc. to quickly change types of common scan jobs. Can scan multiple pages quickly, usually use 300 dpi. You can view all the pages on the screen, can rotate images, add or delete pages before naming & saving. I purchased an external hard drive to save all my scanned images of receipts, etc. so the small drive can be stored later for reference without worrying about the storage space on the computer.

Yes, be careful that the pages aren't stuck together, but it's quick and the software helps a lot in the organization. I am using it on my PC with Microsoft 365.

Other than that the software add-ons and the scanner have been amazing! I use it daily and haven't had any issues. I would recommend.

What's up with iprintandscan when it isn't even able to scan to it's own printer. Also no software was included and seems to be a mystery as to how it can make "all things Brother" work together. Support is invisible! If you aren't a Tech don't buy a Brother.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great compact, high speed scanner with Wi-Fi I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. Upon opening the box, I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the scanner. It`s slightly larger than a laminating machine. I started reading the quick setup guide that came with the scanner and the instructions seemed straightforward. Setting everything up was quick and easy until I got to the Wi-Fi set up. After trying several times, I had to ask my techie husband to give it a try. He also had a hard time getting the Wi-Fi going. I finally had to download the manual from the Brother website and thanks to the picture, we were able to get the Wi-Fi set up. They really should have put the picture in the quick setup guide that came with the scanner. The scanner itself is very compact and as a result some parts may seem flimsy. The paper guides felt flimsy and a little awkward to adjust when feeding different size pages but it isn`t a deal breaker. The actual scanner itself feels well constructed.After we finished setting up the scanner, I downloaded the Brother iPrint & Scan app on my iPhone X and Macbook and started scanning anything I could find. This little scanner was really fast compared to my current scanner and I was quite impressed with the scan that popped up once it finished. The image looked exactly like the original and the color scans were more like photos. It was definitely an upgrade from my current one. Next I scanned a stack of papers and they zipped in and out with lightning speed. The stack was a little wrinkled so the resulting scan had a few crooked images but still very clear. My final test was the card slot. I put in a credit card and again the image was crisp and clear and the scanner did not eat my card. Final thoughts. The Brother ADS-1250W is a great little scanner once you get past the Wi-Fi setup. I love how quickly it produces clear scans and I can even scan double-sided documents with one pass. My current scanner takes awhile to scan each document and since it`s a flatbed type, I have to scan each page one by one. The Brother cuts the time down drastically because you can feed up to 20 pages at a time. Overall, I`ve only had it for a short time but I`m very impressed with the size and quality of this scanner. I may just have to pack up the old one to make room for this newer one.

Instructions were very clear and thorough which made it easy to assemble. I love tthe way the scanner feeds my documents through smoothly without jamming. I have used other scanners before that did not scan my documents clearly. My documents were crooked and blurry. I did not experience this issue with the Brother scanner. Using this scanner made it easy to upload my documents to my computer. This is an awesome product. I am very pleased.

The Brother ADS-1250W document scanner is a well made product that feels sturdier than it first looks. The scanning process for a sheet is very quick and the software to work it is pretty intuitive and easy to use. You do have to download the software from Brother`s support site. In addition to the ability to scan in documents the scanner has a setting to scan "IDs". This can be used for identification cards like drivers licenses or for business cards. Both sides of the card are scanned so there is no cumbersome flipping and re-scanning. The only documentation that was provided in the package was a quick setup guide, so you also have to download from the Brother site the user manual.The quality of the scans were very good and actually a little better than I had expected them to be. The fact that there are several options of how to operate the scanner (via wifi to mobile device, connected via usb to computer, direct to usb drive makes this a very versatile solution.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never worked I spent 6 hours on my computer trying the download the required BR software but their website never allowed me to do so. I spent 2 hours with one of their Tech experts one the phone with me, and he was unable to help me either. I am a very experienced computer user and have a iMac and MacBook Pro computers. I sent back this scanner and got an Epson scanner instead. It took me 10 minutes to download all drivers and software needed and scan 4 documents with this Epson unit from the moment I took it out of the box!

This scanner is lightweight and very easy to use. It scans up to 20 pages quickly and very accurately. I am impressed with the quality of the scanned documents. I love that it scans two sides at once. The software setup was easier than expected. We are using it to scan receipts, invoices, and tax documents. This has been a great addition to our home-based business and has made life easier with less paper clutter!

It is convenient to use. I plug into a USB port and it produces very clear images quickly. My only disappointment is that I don`t know how to make 1 document for several pages to scan. It does take pages up to 30 seconds after feeding, but they come out as separate pdf`s. It also help me make copies. I`ve used this product everyday with ease not only for my home business but for my child`s school work! Very easy to put together and use. Highly recommend!

The Brother Wireless Compact Scanner works very nicely with my home business! It has an easy set up via wireless or USB connections & I had it up and running in no time. I like that I don`t need to feed it a single page at a time but can give it up to 20 pages at once. It takes up very little space on my desk. It runs quietly & effortlessly, I enjoyed adding it to my business tools that I need and found nothing I didn`t like about this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product is suits my needs but hassel getting it connected Is quite pricey considering a flatbed is $200 cheaper. Seems allot more to ask for document feed and 2-sided scanning. Shipping was delayed due to 'Multiple PIN' with Canada Post and no help tracking product from Brother. Product sat in post office for 1 week. Software download not straight forward and certainly not wireless. Hence comes the real issue when Brother does not include the USB 3.0 cable needed to connect. Not an easy cable to find and I ended up paying $40 at a computer store. AND Brother Support totally DO NOT support customers in the west. Monday to Friday 9-5 eastern time. Come on. So in summary ... took 2 weeks for me to get the product and another week to get it hooked up after shopping 2 cities for the required cable. I would have sent it back except full-refund is on UNOPENED box. Not happy with total lack of support and the excess time and cost I invested in getting the machine setup. Brother should have included the $10 cable if they have any hope of loyalty from their customers.

I found it time consuming to get it to operate properly, Some times it worked.. some times it just crumpled the receipts I dont have time to play with my food...so I will not play with this scanner I have had other Brother products that perform excently....I hope that this is an exception

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't really work. I'd rate this 5 stars if it didn't have so many problems. When it works, it works great. I've bought three of these and each one has its own unique stubbornness, mostly during setup. I expect much more out of a company like Brother. They need to return to a simpler setup process. Oh, they THINK they've simplified it, but all they've done is make it quirky and unable to work with may setups. For instance, if your computer runs on 5G Wifi, it complicates things because this scanner only runs on 2.4. But also, there are dummy buttons on the scanner to try to control it, not anything that makes any sense or has any actual use. The documentation is poor, with at least five pages of safety information and only a page of directions for setup and use. Access to manufacturer tech support is very limited. You can do better than this, Brother, and you should!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Having fun So far have only used the scanner a few times in the office - and I'm having fun with it. I can't get over how fast it zips the document out and onto my computer. Then sending the document on in and e-mail or just saving it to the desktop is so easy. Much easier then our last scanner. This one is very user friendly.

Take off the tape and boom your set up.Storage: is fantastic it is very light and compact easy to store. I can fit it anywhere. Which is great cause as we all know space is precious.Speed: it is quicker than the printer/scanner that I have now. It scans quickly and loads to my computer just as quick.Difficulty: My problem was in the beginning set up was not as easy as I hoped it would be. The download shows quick setup guide., but U have to search on how to actually use this scanner. I finally was able to download the manual and that helped alot. So once you find the scanner manual its alot smoother finding how to complete everything. The favorite part for me was scanning and sending papers that I thought could help the businessThe improvements I would make is for the instruction to be downloaded automatically, so this way everything would be perfect.All in all this machine is light weight easy to fit into any space and quick to scan. I think it would be good for home and work.

I have tried the ADS-1250W scanner and I have found the device to be lightweight, sleek and portable. Although it took me a few minutes to set up the device it does come with a detailed manual with instructions describing the connection procedure. I have found the device an efficient way to scan and assist in sorting of documents which helps me reduce the amount of paper I keep at the house. I particularly like that it does not take up a lot of space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Build Quality, Poor Output. Bought this scanner to replace the Fujitsu that I been using for 14 years. It has been having trouble picking paper and the drivers haven't updated in years requiring me to have a secondary computer running an old OS to use it. This scanner is well built, produces clear scans, but cannot create a straight image. It's frustrating the amount of time spent feeding each sheet through over and over trying to get a scan that is not crooked with the edge cut off. There are sometimes that no amount of running the document through will result in a usable scan. This is despite the document going through perfectly straight every time. Messing with he anti skew setting does nothing. This is in contrast to the ScanSnap software that the Fujitsu has. You run a document through it at a 45 degree angle and it will come out perfectly straight, right side up with no extra space around it. The other issue I have is for extra long documents, the width is fixed at one of two widths, neither of which ever matches the document I'm scanning resulting in scans with lots of space on either side. I really tried to like this scanner and put in the time to try to get past the issues, but I could not find any way to reliably get good results with this scanner. Unfortunately, I tried too long and now I am past the return period. I guess it's back to Fujitsu. Here's hoping Richo's purchase of Fujitsu's scanner business hasn't ruined them.
