Small in size, but big in sound!
I have owned these speakers for two years now. I was looking to replace my older basic Bose speakers that ended up at school with my wife. This set doesn't take up much space on my desk at all. I sit in an area away from the over head music at work (fortunately as I can jam with my music). Half the time I listen to talk radio, and the other half music. The depth is clear and makes me feel as if I have a much larger system. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a compact in size, but not sound, system for work of office space.

I just bought a set of these to help turn my old laptop and TV into a media/work center. These speakers brought the whole thing together perfectly.These are awesome! Nice bass!! Bose are the best ;)

Great sound quality
Bose has always made very good speakers, and this is no exception. After getting these speakers, I noticed many improvements. Sound quality in general was very crisp, and base was great. When changing the volume, there was no fuzzy sound or static. Very good speakers, and the control module is a nice touch.

Smooth richness.
I just hooked these two speakers up. It was seamless and the the sound filled my office with a crisp and yet bellowing bass note. Nice full and rich sound. Great two speaker system. Keep up the great work BOSE.

The speakers are absolutly amazing, the sound quality is amazing for every type of music, Bose does a really good job for the best sound quality. Every time I am behind my computer and using the speakers it gives me a smile on my face.

split a SOUNDDOCK in two and you get these.
The title says it all. Just recently I noticed the stunning similarity between Sounddock II and these cute little bassmonsters: they both take advantage of WAVEGUIDE and both have two 2.75' full-range built inside so I eventually figured out they're just reengineered SOUNDDOCK I/II/III, side by side comparison confirms my thoughts: they sound identical.

Received one of those problem products
As with other lower marks on this product, I first received great sound as well, but shortly after warranty expired I noticed a short in the volume adjustment. If I can find the sweet spot - Hey great speakers, if not well a 2 rating is a gift.

Incredible speaker system !!!
I rarely write reviews, but I bought these speakers and a headset for my husband for Christmas. Our computer is in the same room as the TV and he is constantly playing YouTube videos or music while I watch TV. The control pod that allows you to plug in a headset is just what we needed. The control pod is really nice as you touch the top of the pod to turn the speakers on/off and rotate the outer perimeter of the pod to turn the volume up and down. This setup is absolutely perfect and was very easy to set up!!! And nothing needs to be said about the incredible sound quality from Bose !!! My husband has told me every day since Christmas how much he loves these speakers !!!

Had for 4 years + and still going great
Got these for a high school graduation gift back four years ago. Still have them now and they are still my favorite speakers. Mostly listen to alternative and soft rock and they have an outstanding sound. Good bass and can get pretty loud. Perfect for a bedroom or dorm room at a computer desk.

Perfect for listening to music \m/
There are a lot of speakers out there that puts out a lot of power and bass which distorts the way an album was meant to be heard. I have previously used one 4.1, two 2.1 speakers for several years and the Bose Companion 20 is by far my top choice for listening to rock, blues, flamenco or any genre of music. I love the Companion 20 because of its reproduction of original CD audio with a great balance in the different ranges (low frequency bass, mid range vocals and high frequency treble).

These speakers are INSANE!
I just got these speakers yesterday - after trying maybe 20 or more other speakers in the store - these one were clearly the best of the bunch and very reasonably priced for the quality. But the big surprise came when I installed them at home and went through my music library - I was blown away - they are clear with powerful basses even without subwoofer! I love them - best computer speakers I ever had.

WOW !! MIND BLOWING STUNNING SOUND!
I brought these speaker few months ago. So the sound quality was brilliant and herd all details of the music track. And it's much better than Harmon Kardon Nova system. So I'm highly recommending these speaker system.

Excellent but for one issue
The speakers work very well. The one objection I have is the fact that there is no off/on switch. There is only a "on or mute" switch and the speakers go to sleep automatically (a mute if not used after a specified period. I would prefer an off-on switch so that the speakers are always on when the computer is on without any automatic sleep mode. This is why I rate the speakers at only a 4 star. I would recommend this to friends only if the lack of the on/off switch, and automatic sleep mode, is not a major issue for them.

Fantastic - If you can get it at a discount.
The speakers are fairly high-quality. The bass could use more reinforcement, and some treble-alterations. Otherwise, the product is incredibly well-structured, and sturdy; and I am very content with being able to utilize this. I love the dial for the volume-control.

Not for the XPS One 2710
Bose makes a great product and the sound is just as great when connected to the XPS. The connection is the problem. Although the specs from Dell indicate a rear audio out connection and SPDIF on the rear of the unit; only the SPDIF exists. The option is to connect the mini plug to the earphone jack on the side of the computer. It works; but it is not pretty.

Outstanding speakers
If sound is important to you, get these speakers for your desktop computer. Long after you have paid for them, they'll be paying you back with outstanding audio quality and enjoyment while you work.
I use them with a high-bitrate audio streaming service and they really bring the music to life. You'll even find yourself seeking out better quality music so you can truly enjoy what your speakers can do.
Sound is incredibly solid, rich and full. Great presence. Impressive sound stage.
The little knob-based jog controller is actually quite handy for quickly hitting mute to take a phone call or changing the volume with the flick of your wrist.
If you buy a less expensive speaker, you've bought a cheaper speaker. I've bought many speakers in my life. Why not simply buy a set of speakers one time, be ultimately satisfied and never need to buy another set?

Great speakers but expensive
I've had these speakers with my 8500 desk top for about 1.5 years and they sound great. I don't think you can go wrong with these as long as you can afford them. They are a bit expensive but Bose speakers are always overpriced.

Pros: Great sound and ease of use make this system and excellent choice. I originally looked at a lower priced Bose product but after hearing the Companion 20 I immediately ordered them.

Poor power supply
Bought these a couple of years ago. Now the sound goes on and off. Had an engineer friend take a look and he said that the power supply (cords from the speakers were faulty. Bummer, because these speakers were expensive.

Amazing sound, as expected from Bose
These are the upgraded versions of similar Bose speakers that came out several years ago- but the sound that comes out of these two little speakers rivals that of some serious, and pricey sound-systems. You really don't even notice it's a 2-speaker system, because it's just amazing. What I like is that you can get pretty loud, and the signal doesn't cut out, or get "static-y", but is still crisp, and clear.
