Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gaming Essential Every serious gamer and anyone with a decent pc needs to protect that investment with a UPS. This recently stood up to a double lightning strike that hit the garage. Some things that weren't protected got fried, this saved my kid's Alienware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive! I am impressed! This thing arrived in packaging that was made to protect during shipping. Weight is 25 lbs and approximately 16” deep by 11” tall and 4” wide. The unit is warranted for 3 years. The UPS has a full complement of surge protected and battery backed-up outlets. There are 6 battery backed up surge outlets and 4 surge only outlets. Also, available are an Ethernet in and out port, and a cable in and out port. Software monitoring of the unit is done with Powerchute Personal Edition via USB connection to your computer/gaming system. There are plenty of connections for my system of gaming computer, 3 - 27” screens and sound system. Even has enough room for a brick or two used for driving your router, keyboards, mice, and gaming controls. There are 3 USB ports on the front that can be used for charging phones, etc. Instructions for connecting equipment were straightforward and understandable. The diagrams used in the instructions could be bigger in order to show details more clearly. Setup started with connecting the battery and charging it for about 16 hours. The unit has a clear, understandable status panel on the front and LED’s on the rear to provide enough light for making connections (usually done under a desk in the dark). Panel light on front and back can be changed to any of 12 colors. I can say that the lighted panel is very bright. It would be nice if there was a dimmer to dial it back. The UPS sensitivity to voltage fluctuations can be set to different levels depending on the user’s experience with incoming power and the sensitivity of the protected equipment. Once the UPS was fully charged I was able to set it up and use my system. I connected my entire system to the unit using nine of the outlets in the process. I live in an area where frequent power outages are experienced. We’ve had enough outages that I have a whole-house generator that kicks in automatically. The downtime between power out and generator on is about 3-5 minutes. The UPS was able to handle demand without any issues. I noticed no surge issues when the generator kicked in, nor when grid power came back on. During the testing I had no failures or unexplained issues. I would definitely recommend the Pro Gaming UPS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around great UPS The first thing I noticed on this unit when I plugged it in was the LEDs. Circle on the front panel and matching color lighting the backside. But once it was powered on, the front circle would only stay green. I was not able to change the color of it, or to turn the back LED back on. I'm not sure if I just wasn't pressing the right button (there's 1 button for LED control) or if it's a malfunction of some sort. After powering the unit on, I noticed that the front LED circle will show as a battery level indicator, like a clock. At first I thought it was faulty and just not lighting up all the way, but as it charged, the circle got more complete…so that’s something to remember. The speaker button doesn’t seem to work on mine. It will turn on the display but it won’t let me mute the alerts like it’s supposed to...I had to do that in the Powerchute settings. At first, I wasn’t interested in the front panel USB charging ports. But after thinking about it a bit, I realized that it would free up the electrical outlet that I have a USB charger block plugged in to. If I were designing this, however, I would add one or two USB charging ports to the back. I don’t like my cables coming out of the front of anything…it’s cosmetically messy, and would be easier to route the charging cord to where I want it if I could plug it in on the back instead of the front. The runtime on battery with my setup is roughly 30 minutes at 25% load. I have my PC (AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4GHz, 32GB RAM), 2 Samsung 24" LCD monitors, and my computer desk's LED lights connected to it. All in all, it's a good unit and I would not steer anyone away from it. LED lights are cosmetic and not something I would buy a UPS for, so mine not functioning correctly (or me being dumb, whichever the case may be) isn't something that I would down rate this product on. Not having USB ports on the back and the speaker button not muting the device's audio alarms like it should is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from F02 error as soon as I plug anything into it. I received this UPS a few days ago. I connected the battery and let it charge for several hours. After it was fully charged (the battery symbol had full bars), I tested it by plugging in my USB phone charger into the front of the device. It immediately clicked, gave and F02 error, and started smelling like ozone. I tried unplugging and restarting the device. I did the battery test by holding the power button for 6 seconds. As soon as this process started, it gave another F02 error. I tried Googling for solutions for several hours to no avail. This included performing a "brain dead" reset on the UPS: 1: Disconnect any attached load. 2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket. 3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery. 4: Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds 5: Reconnect internal battery. 6: Plug UPS in to known good power source. 7: Turn UPS on. This didn't work either. I sent an email to customer support and am awaiting a reply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from APC Back-ups Pro Gaming BackUps Very nice easy set-up. Changed from old ups in less than 5 min. Need a way to more easily connect bulky 9v power blocks without losing other plug ins. Customizable color LED's are cool. LED re-out is clear and easy to understand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks Great! Works Perfect, One Thing Though! Just purchased Back UPS Pro BGM1500B. Item was unpacked and put into immediate service! Lighting is wonderful, love the selection of gamer colors, yet looks professional. I and many many others have one BIG issue though, the LCD display, the one on the front panel that shows wattage, voltage, and HZ. We want the option for it to stay ON. We do not want it to go off unless we want it off. Please issue a firmware patch and add the "Always On" feature to the info panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Making Power Protection Fun! First, this is a beefy unit. For what I'm using it for and the location, would have liked it to be a little smaller. Overall, super impressed from the simple and easy direction set up on the box cover, the color changing lights, display information, and the light on the back of the device for the easy to view plugging.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Compact UPS for Gamers Product: Gaming Back-UPS Pure Sinewave 1500VA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), Model BGM1500(B) The product arrived extraordinarily well packed. Unpacking and setup was simple and easy. On the rear, the unit features five battery-backed outlets, and five surge suppressed outlets. There are also connections for ethernet pass-through surge suppression, coaxial pass-through surge suppression, a connection (with supplied cable) to optionally control the unit with APC Powerchute software on a PC, an optional-use grounding terminal, a building wiring fault indicator, and a circuit breaker reset button. On the front of the unit are three handy USB-3 power ports, one of which is the newer USB-C style. These ports are fully battery backed, and provide at total of 15W of power. Also on the front is an LCD display with three physical control buttons. The LCD panel can be configured to display multiple different modes of operation. As usual for APC products, the unit is shipped with the battery properly disconnected. Per the user manual instruction, connecting the battery is a straight forward process. Operation is pretty much set-and-forget. I did not connect the unit to a PC with the APC Powerchute software. Something unique with this UPS, perhaps in the spirit of the gaming community for which this UPS is designed for, is a unique colored light ring around the display panel. The colors of the light ring can be adjusted among many choices. The are similar colored lights in the back that might be particularly useful in providing illumination at the rear of the unit when connecting or disconnecting plugs. All of the lights can be turned off in the LCD control panel, which I have done as I don't prefer such lighting. However, one potential issue is that the brightly illuminated "APC" display on top of the unit behind the control panel that cannot be changed in color or turned of. In a dark environment it can be distracting. Covering it with a small piece of black tape resolves that issue. But it would be better if it was controllable. This unit is basically similar to other APC Uninterruptible Power Supplies in its capacity class. The included user manual is clear and concise. The main standout is the enclosure styling and lighting features. And for it's capacity, it has a relatively small footprint. It will take up hardly any real estate where space is limited. Users should use caution, as it's heavier than it looks, containing a double-unit battery assembly. Overall I would recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Design! This product measures roughly 15 inches long, 11.5 inches high, and 4 inches wide. I haven't weighed it yet, but it's pretty heavy. This is partially due to the two backup batteries inside. I can run my main PC as well as my gaming laptop with no problems. I can see a multiple monitor gaming system running on this thing with plenty of load to spare. This APC unit comes with three USB ports (front), six backup and four surge outlets (rear), 1-GB surge-protected network ports (rear), surge-protected coax ports (rear), and a data port (rear) for the PC. All of these things are great, but sometimes its the simple things that get me. It comes with adjustable front and rear LED lights!! The rear LED is especially useful because it helps with seeing the plugs in the back. No more using your phone flashlight or pulling the unit out to see what is plugged in. You can also turn these off if needed. But, if you are like me and want it lit up, there are several colors to choose from. I have included pics of a few of the colors, but there are plenty more. Both front and rear can be changed. It also has the ability to silence the beeping when power is lost. This is another biggie for me. There is nothing more irritating than your power going out while you are trying to sleep and the constant beeping keeping you awake. This is by far one of the best features that APC has added to it's battery backups. To date, I haven't had an surges or power outages, so I can't speak to how long it stays up without power. Hurricane Elsa is headed my way though, so I'm sure it will get tested very soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product with exceptional features. Unit is a small form factor which makes placement of product easy without sacrificing space. LED ambient lighting is nice for aesthetics and theming, the amount of outlets is optimal for typical gaming setup giving 6 surge + UPS protection and 4 standard surge protection. This combined with communication ports, coaxial hookups and USB ports makes it ideal. The ability to change the voltage sensitivity is great for PC gaming with more sensitive electronic components. Visibility to the total load input/output voltage/frequency is a nice feature. The additional power chute software allows you further monitoring and customization of UPS operation. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Could not be a better product I have used APC products for over 20 years. They are the best product that can be bought. My new Gaming Back-UPS Pure Sinewave 1500VA Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) works like a champ. Since using this product, I have had no interruptions of power, and no power lags or spikes. APC is the best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful controllable options This UPS has worked well for a year now including a few power outages and several glitches. I liked the ability to select the sensitivity ranges. I also especially liked that the lighting that could be controlled to select a color that is agreeable and to provide light on the sockets in the back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WARNING!! FIRE HAZARD! Seriously... DO NOT BUY. I just got this thing and it caught on fire after I plugged it in. Less than 5-10 minutes since I've unboxed it. I've had success with other APC units in the past.. but avoid this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great failure! This ran until there was a power outage. It went into F02 failure during the outage. I emailed support since neither phone number supplied in the warranty section worked. Purchased at full price in February 2022. Died during first required use in July 2022. Don not recommend. I never had a problem with APC products before so I am not sure if support was bad or not before I just know it is now.
