First drop off my very low couch and my iPad Pro is smashed. I had it in another far more protective case for years and it survived countless drops from heights triple that will no issues at all. This case doesn't protect it. Period. Don't waste your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is the great quality that I expect from Speck I've used Speck phone cases for years, so I thought I'd give this case a try when my old one wore out. This is a well made cover for the iPad-pro. It feels secure but does not intrude on the screen space or interfere with the functionality of the iPad. I like the various tilt options for viewing and the protection that this cover provides. I'm not sure that the plastic clasp to keep it closed is necessary. I'm also still getting used to the design and still sometimes try to close it the wrong way, but that's just because I've always used a more basic cover. Although this one is also a bit heavier than my old one, it's not at all bulky.

Let me tell you, Speck return policy was sooo easy. They already had a return label enclosed, all I had to do was stick it on the box that it was shipped in, and dropped off at the post office. I do need another iPad cover, which I will be buying from Spect. They literally have all aspects of customer service perfected. Thank you, Tonya

And, it really still was in fine condtion - I just wanted a fresh new color. I love this blue-grey color, very rich. My last one was pink, so this is a nice change. Great value, considering how long it lasts. The plastic casing never broke or cracked, the inside felted material stayed soft and cleaned up easily. I use my IPad a lot. I watch tv on it while washing dishes and cooking. I use it everday for workout videos. The way it stands up works well and has a few adjustments. I travel with it in my carry on. And, in all that time, my IPad has never been damaged. It's really an amazing and very useful product. Very well done. It will probably outlast my 2015 IPad :))

However, the corner near the camera lens / power button / volume controls needs extra reinforcement. This is my 3rd case because the previous 2 broke at the same position because of stress during landscape viewing.

A symphony rehearsal gets kind of crazy with people setting up, taking down and generally moving around through chairs and music stands. The Speck Folio gives me confidence that even if the iPad gets knocked off the stand it will be protected.

Before it arrived at my house, I was almost afraid to use my new iPad much, being very careful where I set it down, and how I handled it. After the case came, I immediately felt more confident about using my device and not worrying so much about it. The case orovides perfect security for the iPad Pro, covering it completely and even adding strength to the wonderful package I am handling. I like the many positions I can set the devce in, and I love the Marine Blue/Twilight Blue color. It is the best case I could have bought for my iPad Pro, and I feel that it is a great fit and look for my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What is the cost actually worth? Improved durability from 10/01/2017 case purchase. The 2018 is better in fit and finish. Replaced 2017 case because a corner broke off when dropped on hard floor and the cover warped and showed wear and tear. The case is extremely important because it prevented catastrophic damage to the IPad which is the main function of the Speck case: Protection. IPad replacement costs $1000, a Speck case save can save you a lot of money.

I'm using it for illustration and graphic design. The lowest position isn't very reliable as it slumps at too far of an angle for me to rest my hand on without falling flat. (Perhaps I misread the instructions). Otherwise the other positions are fine, especially for watching videos and reading.

The snap closure, easel folds, and protection were great, but I finally tore the leather cover and decided to replace it. My one criticism was that the cover became a little warped towards the end - it still closed fine, but didn't lie completely flat. That cover was a 5-stars product. I have two beefs with the new cover. When I use it in easel mode on my lap, the folded cover too easily slides out and collapses flat. A friction surface is needed on the case back to prevent this. Second, while the prior design had the folding cover lying flush with the plastic, this one has a thin plastic rib surrounding the closed cover. When the cover is open, the rib ends are uncomfortably pointy, a problem avoided by the older design

The stand-up position is solid and stays in place and they're comfortable to use in our laps! Will buy more as the need arises. Keep up the good work!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Edges too sharp! Although this cover provides solid protection for your iPad, I do not recommend it. The edges of the plastic screen cover are so sharp that they can cut your fingers. There is no way to soften them except to take a file or sandpaper to them, which will mar the look of the case. Overall, the plastic case looks and feels pretty cheap anyway. The purple color is pretty, but the sharp edges ruin this for me.

It does not fit. It is way too big! Speck does not currently sell a case for the newest iPad Pro 12.9". Big time failure considering the iPad was released last year.

Corner chipped when IPad was accidently dropped on floor which saved the IPad, so I am satisfied with the product. Speck offers the best quality in protection and style; this is my seventh purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My wife swears by Speck, and now I do, too I started with a different brand of case, but got very frustrated with it after a few weeks. It turns out that the way the front cover folds is a big deal for me, and this case does that really well. One of the things I really like is that the front cover can be folded inside-out behind the iPad, and then clipped to the edge of the case so it stays in place. It stays flat against the back of the iPad. The microfiber that's normally against the display is now facing outward, which makes it easy to get a comfortable and secure grip. This makes it easy to use the iPad while holding it (as opposed to it sitting on a surface). The case just gets out of your way. The other way I tend to use it is in landscape orientation on a table. The inside of the front cover has several rows of grooves that let you adjust the angle. I never use those. I don't like having part of the front cover sticking out towards me. But I can fold it up into a triangle behind the back of the case. It's very sturdy in that configuration (bumping it doesn't cause it to fall), and the viewing angle is good for hands-free reading or watching video. The cut-outs for volume, headphone, Lightning port, power button, and camera are all correctly positioned and have enough extra room that it's easy to operate the buttons, and plug in cables while the case is on. The case goes on and comes off without much trouble, yet stays on securely. When it comes to weight versus protection, this case seems to be on the lower weight, lower protection end of the spectrum. The case looks like about 1/8 inch rigid plastic. I'm not sure how well it would handle a drop from 4-5 feet onto a tile floor (especially if it landed on an edge). It's also lighter weight than more impact-resistant cases. Since I don't tend to drop my devices, it's a good trade-off for me. The outer texture is also not too slippery; it helps me keep a good grip, without being rough on my fingers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy I've had every iPad, had cases on all of them, have friends with tablets, they have cases on them, got a Speck cuz I love their phone cases but I don't have a lot of experience with more than 20 or so different tablet cases, nor have I researched hundreds of tablet cases online. Some were better than others, we shall see how this one fairs in another year. I love how the Speck Balance Folio looks and feels...a lot,it is sexy, I love the auto on/off magnet, I love the hasp that keeps it shut, the tent stand mode ( ? ) is perfect, the architect mode ( < ) sucks and that same hasp that keeps it shut so nicely can also keep the case flush when you are in tablet mode ( | ) so the case doesn't twist or slide in your hand, however, the hasp does not stay attached consistently in that mode = (. Due to the design flaws, it is a draw between 3 and 3.5 stars, I know Speck could have done a whole lot better.

The latch and notches work perfectly. My only issue is that it's slightly difficult to make the stand stay up in the typing position, but there is a trick to make it pretty sturdy.

After researching many others, he went with this one. He said he's very happy with this choice. We like the way it has different folding levels, and how thin and lightweight it is. I've dropped mine several times, and it's stayed safe. We highly recommend this cover.

I also love how the exterior texture of the case doesn't cause friction when I try to slide it into my purse (which is a Tight Fit). I am a little nervous having all the buttons exposed (my last case had them covered), but only time will tell! Very hopeful and the product was the color and style expected.

I am disappointed that it shipped for apparently no reason as the other one I've owned on my smaller iPad has left-sided over three years with zero chips. However the amount of plastic that wraps around it is much smaller because it was a smaller iPad .

Not too heavy, the stand works well, it closes with a clasp and turns the ipad on and off when I open and close it. It is of a quality that I feel will last for many years and withstand daily use.
