Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds great!I recently got this sound bar and all I can say is that this is the best sounding soundbar I've ever listened too. It's also plus that the setup is pretty much a no-brainer. That said the overall sound is still forward heavy and not as immersive as I want to. Fortunately, there is an option to include the SWA-9000S wireless rear speakers in order to make the system a 7.1.2 system. Still below the HW-N950. But the good thing though is that Samsung put the SWA-9000S on sale and that made a whole lot of difference when I purchased. So this is a fairly cheap way to upgrade your system if you can't justify the $400 price difference between the 950 and 850. With the rear speakers setup, here are now ambient sounds that I can hear which I didn't hear before. And with teh benefits of Atmos/DTS-X and Harman Kardon drivers, honestly this is the only soundbar that I've heard that closely resembles cinema audio. Of course there are other great sounding systems out there, but the sound signature is just different. I'd strongly recommend this system! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from soundbarfanaticI am a huge fan of Harman and Kardon. It is amazing to know that Samsung and H&K made a partnership together to release an amazing soundbar. Hooray! It will never disappoint. Expertise (H&K) plus innovation (Samsung). This is a bomb!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work as advertisedWhen the system works, it sounds good. Unfortunately, it almost never works. The wireless speakers will often disconnect. Sometimes the video doesn't work. The front display is too small. It doesn't have a way to directly set the source via IR (meaning Harmony integration is poor). It's difficult to determine what audio mode is being used. There are only two HDMI inputs and they are hard to get to. It is difficult to wall mount.Frankly, this is one of the worst purchases I've ever made. I got it for the 7.1.4 configuration, dolby atmos, and great sound. But the hours I've spent getting the sound bar to work are simply not worth the hassle. At this point I could have run wires to separates, patched and painted the drywall, and had a better sounding, more reliable system. I do not recommend buying this system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Premium Soundbar that replaces Home TheaterHW-N850 Sound bar from Samsung is a beast of a sound bar. At first, I was surprised by size of the box; actual length of sound bar also does not disappoint (?). I have a 65 inch TV and media storage that fits perfectly with N850 sound bar; so the size doesn't bother me at all. I believe It actually is helpful to get a feel for true surround audio. I also have to point out that build quality is really top notch, and is very heavy for a sound bar; I think this is a good sign as good speakers generally have some weight to it. Setup was simple and easy. I realized there is a way to sync between TV and the sound bard via ARC. Basically connect HDMI cable on ARC HDMI ports on both devices. My Samsung Frame TV can work perfectly in conjunction with HW-N850. I felt like it's one device after ARC setup as TV remote can control both. I also learned that this is a way to get the full effect of Atmos and all features of N850. I also connect my XBOX One X to one of the input port on the sound bar. I watched couple of UHD blu ray titles, including Planet Earth II and Life of Pi. The sound coming out from the box was absolutely amazing although its default bass level is bit too aggressive; so I had to decrease bass level a bit; personal taste. Later I realized that some Xbox One titles actually support Atmos, so I gave it a try. Final Fantasy XV. I definitely feel the difference with or without Atmos. I wish I can try some action movies. At the same time, I felt that it would be even better if I have surround speakers on the back. Luckily, optional wireless surround speakers (SWA-9000S) are available at a very low price. Will definitely try it. I would recommend Samsung HW-N850 to people would like to enjoy premium audio with without taking too much space. It also would eliminate all the complication of setting up multi speakers and wiring them all over the place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds GoodUnfortunately it does not connect to WiFi even through smartthings, even though they adverstise as such. Samsung support has given multiple excuses why it doesn't work but no resolution. I know it's not my soundbar because I exchanged it and the new one does the exact same thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Soundbar with ATMOSI’ve had this for a couple weeks now and this is a great soundbar with ATMOS support. Unfortunately, limited number of inputs, and lack of “upscaling” when ATMOS input is detected cause it to fall short of an excellent recommendation. Positives:- Extremely easy to set up. Unpack, plug in, and you’re good to go.- Wireless rear (surround) and subwoofer- Smart things integration- Works with Alexa (via another alexa device and some setup)- ATMOS sounds great - “Surround” and “Smart” mode when available makes music and any audio input “full” sounding.- Side firing speakers is coolNegatives:- Lack of ATMOS content- XBox One issues:-- not triggering “auto on” (is working with Apple TV)-- cannot set to upscale audio to “surround” or “smart mode”- Something was “loose” inside the subwoofer (but it still works)- Should have more HDMI inputs (only has 2)- ExpensiveUnpacking and setting this up was straight forward. I liked the lack of wires (as compared to the previous setup with wires to each of the 5 speakers and subwoofer). After installing the Dolby App on my XBox One and following the directions on how to setup ATMOS with the Xbox, I watched some of the demos available in the app and the sound (and placement of sound) was absolutely amazing. When using “surround” or “smart” mode, the sound is amazing. Unfortunately, when the XBox outputs in ATMOS, the soundbar did not allow me to change the modes, this causes non ATMOS audio to sound less than “full”.I was able to connect it to Alexa and play music (Amazon) on it, however, a couple weeks into it, this feature stopped working. I could still control the soundbar (turn it on / off / switch inputs), but could not use Alexa to play Amazon music (radio stations still worked). After taking to Samsung support, I reset the soundbar and redid the setup, which fixed the issue. Connecting to it via bluetooth worked well and the sound was awesome. It is hard to justify purchasing this expensive product as there is not a whole lot of ATMOS content available and certain connected features can just randomly stop working. However, when everything works, the sound produced by this setup is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound/only one complaintI love the sound from this soundbar. The bass is enough to rumble my large living room. The sound takes over the room and sounds great from high to mid to low. Listening to the T-Rex scene from Jurassic Park on Netflix on level 40 (out of 100 I think) was amazing, from the rain to the roars. It really made you feel like you were in the movie. This is, of course, not as nice as a true dedicated setup, but it sounds fantastic and doesn't leave you with wires all over the place. For me, it paired with the sub automatically without issue, and I was able to download the app and connect with seemingly no issues as well. My ONLY complaint is that there seems to be no way to tell what signal is being processed by the soundbar. It doesn't seem to display it anywhere, there are apparently no LEDs, and it's not even on the app. This all seems rather strange to me, as I assume most will want to know if true Atmos signal is being sent to it or whatever. I am curious myself if I am sending it atmos or 5.1...but like I said, I cannot tell from the soundbar or the app. Maybe this can be fixed in the app. Anyways, the sound outweighs that issue. I love a true surround setup best for sure, but this is REALLY nice if you are wanting an easy setup of something that sounds spectacular. Your friends will be impressed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of glitches and issues - Don’t buy!!The sound bar sounds good when it works. But too often it doesn’t. Here are the issues that I experience often:1. It changes the source from HDMI 1 or 2 to TV ARC on its own while watching a content. This cause the loss of both audio and video.2. The rear speakers and the subwoofer disconnect too often. The blue lights stay solid blue indicating that they are connected, but they won’t work. It takes a full power down and restart to get them to work for a day before they do it again.3. While playing a regular song from iPhone or Spotify or YouTube, the rear speakers won’t generate ANY sound.I have videos of all of this which I will upload to YouTube shortly as evidence.I would not recommend anyone buying this system until Samsung fixes them. Many others are reporting the same issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You no longer need a receiver with wires all over! When I moved into my new apartment, it was important to keep things clean and simple. So, I decided to sell my old audio gear and renovate to a wireless home theater. I originally bought a former soundbar device with wireless speakers, but it didn’t do Dolby Atmos or DTS, just plain Dolby Digital. I was quite happy for awhile, but when Apple TV released the new Apple TV 4K with Dolby Atmos, I knew I had to get a new updated soundbar. So, after a lot of researching, I decided on the New Samsung harman/kardon N-950 soundbar. I owned harman/kardan receiver in the past, so I knew this soundbar would have a great solid sound to it.It took me awhile to get a good clean connection, because I didn’t realize it was important to enable the HDMI-CEC on my Samsung Smart TV, in order to get the proper “handshake” connection. I found that enabling the “Smart” setting on the soundbar, really brings the center speaker and the sound effects to life than on “Surround” or “Standard”. Although, “Surround” brings the surrounds louder on regular TV broadcasts. Listening to Dolby Atmos and Blu-Ray discs with a DTS master shows how powerful the N-950 can be. You feel like you’re watching a movie with a regular receiver connected, and not a soundbar. I found that listening to Dolby Atmos on Amazon Prime can sound just as amazing as a regular Blu-ray with DTS-X. That’s what makes the Samsung N-950 shine!
