Rated 5 out of 5 byPaye from Lasted a yearThis is the best laptop I have own. I used it for college and work. A got it once it came out, however it started having ghost touch problems not so long ago, just after the warranty was over. I found out my laptop was not the only one that has had this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 byLarmoCT from Easy to use and great features. My Samsung Chromebook Pro is everything that I expected, and wanted it to be. Sturdy construction, very nice touch screen, faster than other Chromebooks I have owned. I have had another Samsung product with the stylus ( pen ), and find them very useful and easy to use. The touch screen and pen, help my productivity greatly.

Rated 5 out of 5 byStringCheeseTheory from When Intelligent design with sophisticated implementation of of the future are done so flawlessly, this is the result.!Thin body with rounded edges sleek and slim, brilliant Vivid screen, and an interface with all the perks, my hat goes off to the team behind this as something this beautiful was not created by one's effort alone. Every device has its pros and cons, I have yet to find the ladder. I am what you would call Computer literate and I have my uses that require a lot of power and uses that don't I find myself using this device more and more for all of my needs. Its folding mechanism intent mode is I'm sure trying to be replicated and duplicated by the competition as this device is built well-using quality materials and the rarely-seen foresight. And what I mean by that is everybody just wants you to get the next thing coming out. Even well and an item is beautiful as this is being designed really they're thinking about that further down the road. I love that that did not keep them from implementing the wide array of high-class high price build quality and friendly user interface along with powerful tools that make work feel less like work. Never a fan of a stylus but now I'm all about my S Pen. The tools are unique and one would wonder why we have never had this before? I would only ask that the company continues to make me ask this question moving forward. To put it plainly I absolutely love my device, and again I thank the team and development staff behind the difficult task set forth before you by both Google Android and the manufacturers I'm sure you've managed to please all of them and if not well then they need to get their act together.

Rated 5 out of 5 byTLCfanatic from Good but not greatThis Chromebook has all the features to be great. Fast processor (for a Chromebook), 2 in 1, garaged stylus, beautiful screen. The price is even reasonable given the list of features. Some reviews complain about the keyboard but I find it perfectly serviceable, especially for a laptop of this size. I like the small footprint so I am willing to trade off a bit on the keyboard. The track pad works well although the click takes a bit too much pressure and is only available in the bottom 2/3 of the pad which can be annoying.Where the Chromebook Pro really falls short is its use of a much older kernel which means it does not yet have Linux program support through crostini. It really makes no sense because the Plus version uses the newer kernel. If or when the Chromebook Pro gets Linux app support it will be the best Chromebook on the market given its features and price.

Rated 5 out of 5 byHunterrrr from Beautiful touch screen until it stops workingThroughout my ownership of this device, the touchscreen has had random, highly obstructive phantom touch issues. After about 10 months, the spring that allows you to stow the stylus broke, rendering it highly impractical to use. OH, AND YOU CANNOT ORDER A REPLACEMENT. Additionally, regardless of factory resets or how the stylus is stored, the touch screen will no longer respond to physical touch, only the stylus. I regret this purchase, and do not recommend this device, especially considering how costly it is for something that only runs ChromeOS. Unfortunately, my warranty expired at the end of September, so I am stuck with a faulty unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 byrhino4rams from Elegant and PowerfulThis device is spectacular. I was looking a professional looking device that I could take with me wherever I go to conduct business. Our infrastructure is all virtual, and the chromebook pro provides all the connectivity I need to be productive wherever I am. The price is exceptional for such a beautiful device, far and above better than any windows machine I would get in this price range. The access to android apps is icing on the cake.

Light in weight and simple sleek design. A+ Thank you Samsung it's exactly what i needed!

Rated 5 out of 5 byThatAlex from Flaw in touchscreen designGoogle "Samsung Chromebook Shaking" and you'll find countless reports of these laptops experiencing phantom touches, window resizing, and on-screen shaking. This is due to a design flaw near the hinges. I absolutely baby my laptop and still ended up with this problem. The bottom section along the face of the screen has a shoddy plastic covering. I suspect underneath this cover there are weak connections. When the laptop is placed into tablet mode, you naturally want to hold the tablet like a notebook along this shoddy plastic covering. I suspect that my thumb presses against this cover and damages the connections underneath.AWFUL DESIGN. I've sent the laptop for repairs under warranty but what's to keep this from happening yet again when I am out of my warranty period? Not to mention, I will now own a "refurbished" laptop. There is no public explanation of exactly what the problem is for me to avoid this in the future. I am beyond livid.Another issue is anyone who is right-handed in tablet mode will have to deal with accidentally turning off the unit as the power button will be on the bottom in tablet mode. A slight brush against your lap, belly, or table and the laptop shuts off.

Rated 5 out of 5 byFlimlin from Almost greatFantastic device. Fast and everything I wanted it to be. It does everything I want it to do. The downside of the chromebook pro is the appearance. Inside and outside every single finger print or smudge makes it's presence known. I'm embarrassed to take it into meetings because it looks like I was using it while eating a pizza with no napkins.

Rated 5 out of 5 byAdid from Good ChromebookI bought this back in march of 2018, and until now, the only problem I have is that the screen half of the laptop weighs a lot, and the hinges sometimes are a little too loose. Otherwise, best in class screen, good battery life (7 hours with continuous binge watching YouTube at 70% screen brightness. The device can get a little laggy at times (with choppy animations), but this is definitely a Chrome OS problem rather than a hardware problem, as my surface 3 with an intel atom (about half the performance) can run smoother than this with full Windows 10. Updates did fix this a little by little since I got this for what it's worth.

Rated 5 out of 5 byDaMaster400 from Great devicethis is a great Chromebook. it is very fast and light weight. i use it for school, and it is very practical. the display is one of the best ever on a computer. the Chromebook is also very durable. i have dropped it once and hit the edge of the screen on a table, and there is only a small scratch on the edge. i also like how there is the built in pen in case you need it.it is a great overall product, but there are some cons, one is that the plate on the bottom is made of plastic, and scratches easily. also, when there is noise around it is hard to hear the speakers and , there is no back-lit keyboard, so you cant use it in the dark. lastly, i would have liked a USB port on it but it is ok.

First at least turned on but then bricked itself within the first 5 minutes. The second one wouldn't even go that far. Would neither turn on nor charge straight out of the box.All the features look awesome and I would love to give it a glowing review but it would have to turn on for me to do that.

Rated 5 out of 5 byTheSoccerCoach from The only device you will every need!I am a gadget guy. And, up until this review, I would have said I was a devoted Apple customer. I actually sold my last Apple laptop and tablet to buy this Samsung Chromebook Pro, and I could not be happier! I love this machine! Love it!The screen is amazing, as so many have said. And, the whole look and feel of this Chromebook is perfect! I am typing on the keyboard and it is responsive, feels great, love it! It is super fast, the speakers are actually pretty powerful despite what I read in other reviews. I can watch 4K videos on this and the experience is quite enjoyable! The Android apps are working great! A few of my faves aren't compatible yet. But, I am sure they will be soon! I have not been this excited about a device in a long time! And, the 2 in 1 feature of this is just awesome! This machine is super light and feels just so very well made! I highly recommend!

Of course it doesn't hurt performance its just a little Annoying. Other than that battery life is great and the screen is fantastic. Love my Samsung Chromebook Pro!

Rated 5 out of 5 byKicooke from Great HardwareI see the negative reviews and wonder what the disconnect is. I have had mine for about 8 months now and have had no issues. While I liked it as a Chromebook I have recently converted it to a Linux Mint (Tara) machine which makes for even better use of the hardware. With 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space, plus an additional 128GB SD, this machine serves as an excellent development computer. The Linux really makes this computer shine and I am no longer bound to having to be tethered to the internet to be truly productive. I thought I was going to have issues with the trackpad not being recognized but lo and behold when I rebooted the system after the install there it was!

Rated 5 out of 5 bylrhawn from Cracked ScreenUp until now, I have been very pleased with my Samsung Chromebook Pro. Purchased Nov. 27, 2017, it is now just beyond the manufacturer's warranty period and the screen has developed a vertical crack from the top to the bottom of the screen about 1/4 of the way in from the left side. Seems like everytime I purchase a Samsung product, the product breaks or fails right after the warranty ends. This is so very sad and depressing.

Rated 5 out of 5 byWilburPro from Good Features but Touchscreen High Failure RateI bought my unit when it was first released, knowing that this model would receive latest functional Chromebook features, such as Android app support. It's worked well until the touchscreen became unresponsive. I found this to be a commonly reported issue. Cost to repair out of warranty is prohibitive and even then, many report repeated failure after repair. Obviously, limited convenience as a tablet as pen is required for input.

Rated 5 out of 5 bySadTraveller from So close yet so farI love my chromebook pro. It's easy to use, lightweight, and gives me access to important docs while I'm traveling. Power being USB-C is also a huge plus as it's easy to come by. This is primarily a working travel computer so I don't use it to play games and occasionally watch videos but otherwise it's spreadsheets, word processing, and PDFs for me. The flexibility of being a tablet and computer as well as having an included stylus is something I love. Overall, it is a great product. However, there is one MAJOR issue and that is the power. While the chromebook itself gets awesome battery life, if you ever let the book fully discharge a battery then the unit completely shuts off. It will no longer take a charge and will not power on. I have followed support's recommendation of refreshing by doing Esc+Refresh+Power but it still has not worked. This is the third time I have sent in the unit for repair and it's starting to become a hassle. The techs at their repair center have had success by removing and putting the battery back but that shouldn't be a solution. Especially when my unit is still under warranty and it would void my warranty to open up the unit. I am extremely dissatisfied with this product because of a single issue and cannot recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 bysnogglethorpe from Slim and light, and very solid, good performancePhysically the CBP is absolutely lovely, one of the best laptops I've ever used, and amazing at this price point. The all-metal construction makes it very stiff and solid, but it's also amazingly light and slim, and is a pleasure just to carry around in your hand. The screen is an absolute delight, bright, contrasty, and very high resolution (you cannot see the pixels), better even than what Apple uses. It doesn't have an automatic brightness adjustment though, so you have to use the brightness keys if e.g. you bring it into sunlight. The performance is pretty good for typical ChromeOS use, you can have lots of tabs open, and everything is very snappy and responsive. Android apps work very well, and those I've used performed well; I've used a few games, and those worked well, but the unit got rather hot while running them, and GPU-heavy games might not fare so well. I also like the keyboard quite a bit, the feel is quite good for a shallow laptop-style keyboard, the only negative is that the backspace and tab keys are kind of narrow. The main downsides are: 1. It only has 4GB of RAM; this is enough for typical ChromeOS use, but more is always better. 2. It doesn't have Crostini support. This is probably only an issue for some people, but I'd like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 byScott16475 from Great and handy Chromebook!I had been looking for an upgrade to my Samsung tablet A and when I decided on my Chromebook Pro I knew that I had found my new tablet! One of my favorite things about this Chromebook is that the hinges allow users to fold back the screen and when in that mode it becomes a tablet! When in tablet mode the keyboard is auto-locked so there aren't any accidental keystrokes. I also love the fact that this chromebook is also a touchscreen. Great tablet!

Rated 5 out of 5 bymscc from two major hardware failures in a yearI have had this device for just over a year and it has never worked properly. A few months in it had a total failure which required two plus weeks of service to replace the logic board. Now the touchscreen no longer works and the warranty is out. This will sadly be the last piece of Samsung hardware I buy. The quality has really slipped. Samsung should extend the warranties based on time lost during service.

Rated 5 out of 5 byratickle from Great Chromebook, Why No Linux Support? The Samsung Chromebook Pro is arguable the best chromebook for the money on the market right now. My wife and I each own one and we truly love them. We only turn on our Windows laptops when we need an application that doesn't yet run on Chromebooks. Many of the missing Chromebooks apps are available as Linux apps, but sadly, the Samsung Chromebook Pro will not as YET run Linux apps. It seems illogical that cheaper less popular Chromebooks DO run Linux apps, but not the Chromebook Pro. Samsung needs to work with Google to expedite the changes needed to bring Linux apps to the Chromebook Pro. Once this happens, I'll change my rating from four to five stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 byFiddleSquirrel from Screen is too small.Screen is too small. Should be 15 inch or larger for this high resolution. To make the screen readable for those that wear tri-focal glasses (older adults) you end up with low resolution and larger characters. Which means you have considerably less information on the screen. Larger screens are needed for this high a resolution!!! Few people want to spend this large amount of money for s computer with such a small screen!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 byKristani from Well worth itI waited patiently for them to finaly release the pro just for the intel processor. I was not dissappointed. The switching between apps and computer usage is flawless. I've only encountered one issue with an app that uses alot of computing power. The keyboard dosen't feel tight although the small backspace is a little aquward. The pen writing has a minor delay from where it is to the line catching up to it, but thats to be expected it cant read your mind to where its going. The laptop itself is very thin and light, easy to cary and slip into a protective seleave for transport. Battery life is exelent I consider myself a continuous user and find its battery last longer than my phone. Watched movies, played apps, browsed the web. The apps work either touch screen or with the mouse. The touch screen itself is very responsive and works in both tablet and laptop mode making for ease of use.Over all well worth the price your getting a tablet and a laptop had I paid seperatly it would have cost much more. TL:DRPositive:-Battery life-Runs apps great-Flud transitions-Lightweight-great 2 in 1-Love the penCons:-Fingerprints galore-Large for a tablet-Small keys on keyboard (mostly the backspace)
