The security features and the model collection are the most valuable. What needs improvement? I think improvement can be done to the security part, particularly the UDM, and the product should have a user-friendly interface similar to FortiGate. It should have the Azure RBAC in the next release. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for more than ten years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The product is quite stable. I would give it a seven out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? We are using a hardware appliance and we have to choose a size based on our business. It is not like a software application, like in a cloud model. I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten. How are customer service and support? The customer support team is good. I recommend contacting them if any support is needed. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We are using Verax and also FortiGate products. We use them simultaneously. How was the initial setup? The installation was not very complex, it was rather easy. It took around one hour to complete the installation. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We evaluated the Cisco 1400 series. What other advice do I have? I would give it a seven out of ten. Juniper is a highly flexible platform, and you get more bang for your buck compared to a Cisco product. What needs improvement? The centralized management platform could be improved. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Juniper devices are highly reliable. I haven't had to reboot some of these devices in five years. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? Juniper SRX firewalls are scalable. How are customer service and support? Compared to Cisco support, I would rate Juniper seven out of 10. It varies depending on who you get. How would you rate customer service and support? Neutral How was the initial setup? Setting up Juniper firewalls is straighforward if you have experience. You need some CLI experience. Configuring firewalls with a GUI is much easier than using the Juniper platform. The deployment time depends on the size of the environment. I worked for a hospital system where we deployed a pair and used them as a firewall. It was relatively easy to deploy once we had a plan to bring the services in one by one as opposed to connecting the host of the hospital to us. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Juniper devices are more affordable than Cisco products. What other advice do I have? I rate Juniper SRX Series Firewalls nine out of 10. I recommend getting a centralized management solution because managing Juniper firewalls can be messy without it. What is most valuable? The VPN feature is quite useful, as well as the IPS. The firewall is very good. If we need to define our user system from an anti-spam perspective, we can constantly update the antivirus. We need a subscription for such updates. It helps improve our security generally. The solution can scale. It is stable and reliable. It is reasonably priced. What needs improvement? It would be ideal if the solution could use cloud services to help update signatures or threat prevention systems. There might be limitations with the product, depending on the hardware we use. We need to ensure we choose the right hardware if we want more throughput. We'd like to have more control over certain parameters and over the hardware. They could include some features that help prevent or fight DDoS attacks. For how long have I used the solution? I've used the solution for more than five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I'd rate the stability eight out of ten. It is stable enough. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The solution is scalable. I'd rate the scalability seven out of ten. It depends on how big the project is and how many branch offices there are. We might need more devices if it is bigger. We'd also need to use templates for all branches so that it is configured uniformly. We tend to provide the solution for small and medium-sized companies. I've configured it for 30 or 40 clients. How are customer service and support? I haven't had any issues. I've only opened two or three tickets. It's a stable solution. I haven't used support too much. I'm able to solve issues myself mostly. Sometimes there are delays in response or solving the issue. How would you rate customer service and support? Neutral How was the initial setup? The initial setup is straightforward. I'd rate the process eight out of ten in terms of ease of implementation. The deployment time depends on which features we use. Configuring the solution may take two to three hours; however, if more modifications are needed by the client, it may be longer. It depends on the technical requirements of the company. Firstly, I needed to update the operating system. I checked the recommendations and prepared some configurations. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The pricing is okay. It's moderate. I'd rate the pricing five out of ten. I'm more of a technical person, not in sales. I do not know the exact cost of the solution. I'm not sure if there are extra costs associated with the product beyond the licensing fees. What other advice do I have? We're a Juniper partner. I have used various versions of the solution, including the 300, 645, and 1500. I'd recommend the solution to others. I would rate the solution eight out of ten. It's a reliable solution. We are using a two-tier firewall to protect the internal network. What is most valuable? This brand is one of the top three solutions in terms of firewall protection. The performance has been very good overall. We've been pleased with its overall security capabilities. The setup is pretty straightforward. It's stable and reliable. The solution can scale. What needs improvement? We'd like to better understand the roadmap of the firewall. The latest firewalls tend to have a short lifecycle. We'd like to improve the stability and the kill rate. The pricing can be a bit high. For how long have I used the solution? I've used the solution for more than eight years. I have used the solution for quite a while so far. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The stability is excellent. I'd rate it eight out of ten. It's very reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The scalability is pretty good. We can scale a bit. I'd rate the ability to expand seven out of ten. We have about 2,000 users on the solution currently. We do not plan to increase usage. How are customer service and support? We've used technical support very few times. They are fine. they respond. It's pretty standard. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is pretty straightforward and simple. No matter the brand, the setup, and configuration are very similar. Therefore, if you have some prior experience with firewalls, you should be fine handling the implementation. Including the configuration process, the solution only takes an hour or two to deploy. Normally, we do a POC before deploying the solution fully in order to test everything out. We have around four people who can handle deployment and maintenance tasks. What about the implementation team? We handled the setup ourselves with the assistance of a consultant. What was our ROI? We have witnessed an ROI while using this product. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? We pay a monthly licensing fee. Normally, it is a year subscription. The cost is a bit high. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We are constantly evaluating other options. If we find there are issues, we proceed to the next brand and consider that one. What other advice do I have? We have a lot of virtual access in the public or private cloud, as well as virtualization on hardware devices. What is most valuable? The most valuable features are the security cloud ACP and KPP features. What needs improvement? Juniper SRX Series Firewall is a primary network company, but its security portfolio is not a market leader. Their primary responsibility is the features that provide their products. Perhaps taking a leap and developing some features from scratch could be a way to improve. The centralized management has room for improvement because it is outdated and not easy to integrate. The technical support has room for improvement. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using the solution for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I give the stability an eight out of ten. In my experience, Juniper SRX Series Firewall is the most stable compared to the primary Fortinet and Palo Alto that I am also used to working with. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? When deploying the cluster, we cannot create it anywhere, such as in Palo Alto or Check Point. We must scale appropriately, adding more devices with a load balancer or similar. Depending on the size of the area, it can be highly scalable. Our customers range from small all the way up to governments. How are customer service and support? The technical support is not as good as it used to be, but it is comparable to that of other vendors such as Cisco. We have found that when we contact support, we often end up dealing with the same technician and have to repeat the same procedures before we can be referred to a higher level of technical support. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? I also use Palo Alto and Fortinet. Juniper has better firewall-level network functionality. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is dependent on how much experience one has with the command line. If one is familiar with the command line, the initial setup is relatively simple. However, if one is used to working in a management setting, the initial setup can be more challenging. The implementation time depends on the number of clusters required. The first step of implementation is to unplug and upgrade the devices, followed by configuration before moving into production. What about the implementation team? We implement the solution for our customers. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I find the price to be reasonable for an enterprise-level solution. Juniper has recently changed its licensing model. The licenses are annual. The advanced security functions are an additional fee. What other advice do I have? I give the solution an eight out of ten. We handle booking and billing using the solution. How has it helped my organization? I got to learn CLI after purchasing the solution. It counts as a benefit for me. What is most valuable? The solution's valuable features are excellent customer service and stability. What needs improvement? They should work on the pricing. I am using VPN and need to pay for its warranty and license separately. It needs to be addressed. For how long have I used the solution? We have been using the solution for three years now. What do I think about the stability of the solution? It is a stable solution. We never faced any issues there. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? If you have experience using the solution, it is scalable. How was the initial setup? The solution's initial setup process was lengthy as I was new to Juniper. I had to explore and learn the steps to implement the solution. Even after that, there was no guarantee that it would work fine. So that wasn't very easy. I suggest adding more articles or blogs regarding the deployment and configuration part. What about the implementation team? We had an engineer to help us deploy it, and the process lasted nearly six months. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I rate the solution's pricing as a four. What other advice do I have? The solution is relatively easy and inexpensive to maintain. Also, I advise others to add chargeable features in the initial setup.
