Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great... for about 3 months When I moved in mid April I decided to cut the cable and stop renting my modem/router from Comcast. Netgear had great reviews which the AC1750 delivered on for a few months. By mid July the 5G WiFi no longer works, and by the end of July it requires daily (at least factory resets just to get the 2.4 signal. When I call support they are not interested in helping as much as upselling a support service. I was supposed to hear back within 24-48 hours from a supervisor, that was 4 days ago...

It had stable connection throughout my home, and internet speed did not drop. The router was easy to setup and customer support service was amazing. I was able to get my router running in 15 mins with the help of phone support. I definitely recommend this router if your WiFi Signal is not strong and if your internet speed connection is unstable.

Had 5-6 times of dropped connection an hr and I spent a week talking to spectrum and NETGEAR trying to switch firmware versions with no luck. So I returned it and got a c7000v2 and works way better

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy modem I had no idea I was going to have this problem buying this modem. It has a tendency to consistently go in and out of internet service. I’ve called my internet provider and they came and fixed everything they could and I was told I’m getting internet that it’s the modem that is defective. I didn’t believe them due to the company’s reputation. I was told to give netgear a call and they have to troubleshoot it with me. So once I began to call after making my appointment I’ve waited an hour on hold to get a hold of somebody to troubleshoot a modem that was defective according to the rep. They’ve sent me a new modem and the internet is still going in and out at certain times of the day. After calling my company and complaining to them saying that it can’t be the modem due to it being brand new and straight from netgear they told me it was. I had three technicians come out and check all the wires and connections and was told everything was fine. After doing more research I’ve found that this device is notorious for having this problem. So if your looking for a modem beware of this one or you might get lucky and not have this problem.

And I’ve had this device for several years now which shows that NETGEAR products last, and they have a good reputation. I’m due for an upgrade but I may hang onto my c6300 a little longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Intermittent Connection and Warranty Not Fulfilled I have reached out over 3 times for support because of an intermittent WiFi connection. I did all the recommended steps each time, from talking to my ISP (and confirming it was not the Internet service, to moving the unit to a different location, to factory resets, and reading all the support documents I was directed to. Finally, I came to the conclusion that this unit must be defective. The response I received when trying to get it replaced under the one year warranty was that I need to have the unit diagnosed. But, it turns out the only way to have it diagnosed is to pay for additional technical support. And, the worst part is despite the multiple calls I made in the past they claim I was never put through the full technical diagnostic support. I am very disappointed in this product and the related service. The irony is, if my unit was replaced under the warranty as expected, I would likely be writing a great review.

I tried multiple options to fix it including factory resets and completely redoing my network setup. Of course it was past the time when I could return it to where I purchased, so I registered it with Netgear and began the process of creating a support ticket. The beginning went ok with most of the support being things that I had already done, but I tried them again just to be sure. Once we got to the place where it looked like they were going to have to take the device back because it was actually broken, all support communication stopped. I have messaged multiple times given more than the promised 24-48 hour windows for them to respond, but nothing. I ended up having to completely shut off the wireless router portion of this device, purchase a different wireless router and use this device as simply a modem -- a very expensive modem. I would not recommend this router because it is unreliable nor would I recommend Netgear support. They seem to be unreliable as well.

I mean it works...yeah but I thought it would be like wow!!! I purchased the more expensive one since my home is about 3,000 sq ft. And I wanted my kids to be able to log on for distance learning while I also work from home due to COVID we were able to. But could have done the same thing with the Xfinity modem you know.

I bough an extender which worked great, however, it took up an electrical wall socket that in the kitchen. Found I had to remove it too often to use kitchen tools (mixers, toaster, etc). So, I researched and purchased the AC1750, connected it, then immediately found the signal strength was greater than I anticipated. Easy installation too. Thanks Netgear!

I waited 3.30 hours on the phone for tech support and got disconnected (never received a call back even when I stressed the number to call back in case of disconnection. Speed is low compare to the extra router I have. I have a 200mbps speed with Xfinity. I thought it would help extend the range and keep up the high speed. not the case. overall a bit pricey but an OK product.

I’m not sure if it’s an app issue or the device itself. I had another NETGEAR device and had issues which I will post that review in its appropriate category. Other than the app possibly not working correctly I am happy so far with the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge disappointment before 1-year warranty I purchased my (first AC1750 Wifi Cable Modem Router (C6300) in 2018 for my Internet service (only) with Comcast. Around August of 2019, Comcast was installing new lines around my neighborhood. When the service came back online my router was damaged. I had the contractor supervisor come into my house to try and explain what happened. He didn't argue with me. He went to STAPLES and purchased the exact same router, and I got back online-the supervisor gave me the receipt for the purchase.. On or about August 14, 2020, I was not able to (get and maintain) Internet service. I called Comcast and went through their troubleshooting protocol with no positive outcome; they sent out a technician to test the line coming into my house --no problem. I went back to STAPLES and informed them of what happened. Since I was past their 14 day window to do a return, they directed me to NETGEAR. Instead of purchasing a (3rd) AC1750, I opted to (rent) a Comcast model/router for $14 a month, which I didn't want to do. Now, I have (two -2) unusable AC1750s that cost $190.00 each. Question, "Is one year the life span of this model?" I need a good, satisfactory answer. I'm a former software developer for the United States Government.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Works! I bought this a couple years ago - if I remember correctly. It's been a while, anyway, this product has been working very well for our family. We are heavy users with lots of bandwidth needs and this delivers! Don't use it with a splitter though, even though it still will work, it needs a direct connect from the cable source and it'll be rock solid.

Having both a 2.4 & 5 GHz band lets me spread out my devices so they are not all using the same band. I also use a Netgear range extender which works flawlessly with this unit.

This unit set up was quick and straightforward. We are now pulling speeds above what we are subscribed at with up to a dozen items connected at once. I wouldn't think twice about buying again.

Setup was easy, I unplugged the Spectrum equipment and plugged this in, called Spectrum tech support to activate, called Netgear tech support once for help with the passwords (I am low tech) and everything has worked seamlessly for over a week now. My internet service actually is a little faster and more reliable with this new equipment. I highly recommend this product for ease of install and excellent performance. Huge reduction in my monthly cable bill with no loss of shows I enjoy. I ordered on Amazon and the price was very reasonable.

Internet comes in from coaxial cable from my internet provider, plugs into the back of my modem. Was easy to set up, I have two hard wired smart TVs, one hard wired Mac, and at any time can have anywhere between 4-8 wireless devices connected all running smoothly at the same time. Handles even more when family comes over, can be anywhere between 4-20 more devices that can jump on to the WiFi. We are mostly streaming movies and TV shows on multiple devices, music streaming, web browsing, etc all at the same time. I live in a two-story home, approx 3,000 sq ft and 2.4G and 5G signal reaches all over the house. Love this modem! Would recommend Netgear routers, mesh or range extenders to give your signal an extra boost as you get further away from the modem.

I purchase one from a different manufacturer and it works great, will never buy any of your products again, absolute junk with awful customer service

In the end nothing was successful and no one was able to help. All we found out was that the problem was with the router. So I returned it and got the Netgear! Instant success setting it up and no problems! The Wi-Fi is strong and fast, and everything has worked perfectly thus far!

NETGEAR AC1750 WiFi Cable Modem Router (C6300v2 was the best, user-friendly, cost-effective option and has proven to be a fantastic choice.

That frees up the congestion that occurs when many devices are running and streaming; at times the device drops the net, bit wifi is still present! Go figure, but We love it. Will buy another.

It allows me to control my WiFi with ease just using the Netgear genie app. Any time I need to restart my router I can easily do it from my phone or just use the power buttons. This is any amazing product and is more than worth it's cost.

At times the router has to get reset to factory configurations for some apparent reason but it doesn't happen quite as often. The router is quite reliable I have roughly 10 different items hooked up to it with wifi and 2 other with ethernet cord and all the items work flawlessly. I dont game as much as I used to but when I do I dont get any lag while playing. The set up was pretty much plug and play the configuration was also easy to do as well

We are a family of 6 and we each have a smart phone and tablets. We all stream Netflix YouTube VuDu and never have problem. Would 10/10 recommend Netgear and the C6300 to everyone!

This product is best coupled with the comcast servive provider but it shouldnt matter. I love the fact that this router supports speeds up to 5gbs. This thing actually performs BETTER than the Arris brand that the cable company had provided. Netgear Genie is easy to use for setup and haven't had any issues with speed during peak traffic times for my area. Couldn't be happier.

There is also very good coverage anywhere we may be in our house, and a good distance outside around the house, perhaps 100 ft or more, has a strong enough signal to be still effective. It was easy to set up, and is a '˜quiet and faithful' servant in our household.

On the second attempt I finally got a person that solved the problem. The Netgear works flawlessly and has a good signal strength. It was easy to connect the other 'little things' like the thermostats, printer and the like.

Luckily I had old computer to get connected and then was able to connect surface pro wirelessly. Now all my devices are wireless. Also the cable modem is great; the speed is great too. This is my 3rd Netgear over the years and I'm very pleased with the equipment.

I did change the setting from 5 to 2.4, so I was able to get WiFi in the one furthest upstairs bedroom. For some reason it's still difficult to reach this bedroom, but the rest of the house is fine. Service on our IPhones is working properly, which is the reason for the new device.

The product worked great for 9 months then locked me out of the internet...I pressed the little reset button and redid my network and boom worked perfectly fine now. Tech support wanted $230 to set it up...no thanks I'll pay Geeksquad to do it and actually be able to understand them.

The WiFi signal reaches from one end of my house to the other with no issues. I also love the control that I have using the netgear app to monitor who is on my network and block access if needed. It also has met my need for speed with gaming. I would recommend this router for anyone that's looking for a dependale router for a reasonable price.

It changed the Blast Internet Service back into blast. My Wi-Fi speed went from 286 mbps to 860 and sometimes higher. Direct with a Ethernet wire it went to 1 gig transfer rate from 300. Never had a clue that Comcast gave you blast as a carrot and must of took the speed back at the cable modem , telling me that it was the fastest on the market. I got it a bit cheaper than the price showing and make sure it has Doxis my spelling on it may be off. But I wouldn't trade it back for a free Comcast modem. Its so easy to set up with almost any system, Comcast being the easy one in my book. My brother used a laptop for his home pc. We tried everything new dual USB wireless plug ins and still only had 120 to 240 showing on speed. After installing this Netgear he had over 800 mbps coming into the laptop that he was going to throw out. I don't get paid to leave these and leave very few but this made me sit up and think for one and its a great modem to. P. Henry

Worked at 5 star level for a month, storm came through and fried the entire thing. Had to race out and buy a replacement, same Netgear C6300 unit. AND a surge-protector with 1 hour battery backup. Suggest you sell it as a package with surge protection. Really Netgear should build it in.

I figured I just needed to restart it to fix this issue, and it did since then haven’t had any issue with the product. It was a moderate price for a good quality product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hardware great, support horrible The router worked spectacularly throughout its 9 month life. Then one day, the WiFi network went down. I pulled all the stops of resetting, unplugging, restoring to factory defaults to no avail. I called support because my hardware was still under the 1-year warranty. However, the support agent explained I would need to purchase a “support plan” in order to get my router serviced. I said it was still under 1-year and that it should be serviced. He responded saying this is true but in order for them to initiate support, I needed to be under a plan. The cheapest plan was 30 dollars less than what I paid for the router. I said it was outrageous but was told that it will work for 5 years after being fixed. Why would I almost pay for a new router when my current is under warranty? The first brand new one went down in 9 months. What kind of guarantee is that? Are they selling defective equipment planning to recoup using the support plan purchase? Whatever the case is, I will be buying my future internet equipment from a different company. You can have the best product but if your support sucks, no thanks.

I did self installation of my home internet and within 15 to 20 minutes i was connected to wifi and that was setup of my router threw netgear and after that set up through my internet provider both from opening the boxes to connected to wifi ... just 15 to 20mins all together for both thats amazing!! i would highly recommend thi ls brand if you are considering. ita very fast and service is perfect .. i havent had the first problem.

The networks, both 5G and 2.4 would appear and disappear. Very frustrating. So I returned the second o e and went with an upgrade per the advice of the rep. So far so good.

I check with my internet service provider to make sure there aren’t any outages in the area first. Usually, by the time I log into my account through my ISP, the router has restarted itself and the WiFi networks provided to us by this router have been refreshed and are available for connection. This makes doing anything on my devices very frustrating. An individual on our network could be trying to purchase something, watching a video, or playing a game with friends and the network drops and the activity is interrupted. So far, my bank account has only been affected once because of the intermittent service this router provides to us...

I have anywhere from 3 - 7 things streaming/using WiFi at any given time and rarely face a lag. Only considering upgrading because I just increased my speed with Comcast to the 400mbps package and it’s not giving me that speed.

As for the usage to change passwords and network name it is very easy to use and access. Run very smoothly my WiFi bars are always 3 and it also run up to 20 feet away from it which is very pleasing. Get this product right now to have accessible internet usage from a far distance and because of how smoothly and slick of it.

Our speed is slower than the 3yr old modem and router it replaced. The app continually tells me that the firmware needs to be updated, and the Netgear rep told me we need to contact our ISP about that. iSP says it’s the correct version. Honestly, I’m tired of sitting on phones and on hold trying to make it work. Haven’t decided yet what I’ll do.

The only thing I do notice however is the tv in the bedroom farthest away from the equipment takes a very long time to load and sometimes it doesn’t load at all. I should note that my house is about 1600 sq ft. This tv doesn’t get watched very often so I don’t look at it at a problem. I would definitely recommend this to others and I’m pleased with my purchase.

I tried to reboot the router multiple times. Once I replaced the router with my old one, problems were solved only now I am trying to get a refund or replacement from Netgear and still out $189 bucks.

Once I had my internet set up I tried to set my alarm system and the modem had a setting that would not let my alarm connect... called Netgear and was in the phone for about 45 minutes and the person helping me told me I had to call the Internet provider and he couldn’t do anything.... returned it to the store got a different brand and it all a works now.

The activation process was simple and user friendly and didn’t take long at all. It’s a sleek machine and gives my home a modern feel. I 100% recommend this product!

Told to remove all cables, unplug power, wait one minute, connect cables in a given order and re-power the modem. This worked, but now I have to do it 1 or 2 times every day. My old modem, a Motorola surfboard lasted 7 years with no problems.

My provider was showing that internet was provided to the the router but I was still unable to connect. I finally figured out that I had to download an app and reconfigure login passwords. It would have been nice if NETGEAR had provided this info.

The Xfinity app and customer service said everything was running 100%. I switched to the Netgear Nighthawk C6300v2 and could not be happier. Easy to set up and install. Super fast and reliable connection. 10/10 will definitely recommend.

After configuring the new device which took probably over an hour I was unable to connect the laptop. After more then 1.5 hours on the phone with support they said I probably need to return that device and get another one, and do the whole process over again.

I have a connection of 600 Mbps and this router has been carrying all my devices without any disruption in my internet connectivity. Setting it up was not much of a challenge but it took a couple of hours before it was finally set and so far it has been working well. I have used it for less than a month though and I hope it continues to work well.

However, the literature says the firmware is automatically update. The Nighthawk did not allow me to continue so I manually installed. Nighthawk was useless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good but tricky setup This modem/router was one of the more affordable options which is why we went with it. It was trickier to set up than expected. It said you could just login to Xfinity, put in the new information and it would be setup. That was wrong. I had to call Xfinity, have them test it for about 20 min. When it still didn’t work, Xfinity had to create a new account for me, I had ti download 2 apps to register and download the NetGear app to finish the setup. It took a lot longer than expected. Most of the issues were with Xfinity though and not NetGear. Now it’s running great and I haven’t experienced any issues. As long as you have all your ducks in a row with your account information, I would recommend this product since it doesn’t cost an arms and a leg and works great.

Only problem is that both times updates happened I lost the signal/channel to my 2.4g and had to factory reset my router and set up passwords again. But overall works great, easy to use!

It was not obvious on the box or direction that this product had to be registered on the app first. There was some instruction on the app that didn’t make sense to a first time user like me, but luckily xfinity tech was here to fly thru it. I love the ease of renaming networks! I’ve had great internet for the week I’ve used it. I love the sleek appearance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good product. My C6300v2 is a well thought out cable modem/router. The lights are easy to see and each light is labeled clearly. Setup was a snap. My ISP provides me with 200 Mbps and I receive around 210Mbps. All in all I find this product to be well worth the money.

Netgear avoided1 year warranty coverage by long holds, reps pretending to not understand English, transferring calls to another department, then hanging up call. If beyond 90 days of purchase date, you must purchase extended tech support to get help by chat, email, or telephone. Their response to warranty replacement is to return item to retail store where purchased. That is not possible as retail store has strict 14 day return policy. Netgear customer support is ZERO!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from what a pain finally was getting chat help for setup. the mobile app was useless. was resetting for the 4th time with chat help and of course have to reconnect all the wireless products every time (cameras,tvs,vacuum, cameras computers etc.. but then the chat rep asked me to restart my laptop .. i know i was frustrated.. i should have known when i did that ir would disconnect me from chat lol.. so i gave up. i have all my stuff connected wirelessly now im not sure if 5g is assigned or not and my laptop continues to disconnect from wifi over and over. may stay on for a few seconds, a few minutes or an hour. yes, we have set back to factory settings several times, myself and with netgear chat help. i guess this is a known issue with netgear and it would be nice if they fixed it. i did see the same complaint online and their fixes from other purchasers but not working for me. i did have a 2-3 year ild netgear modem and asus router but having issues with working remotely. but all else was working fine. my company said it is comcast or equipment problem, comcast says its my company or equipment. so looks like i wasted 160.00 for nothing.

Wasted 3 years of paying for equipment. As soon as I switched to Netgear, my kids were able to use Wi-Fi on their phones and also on their desk top. I should’ve changed to Netgear sooner. Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 Years and still going I decided to save money and buy a modem/router rather than pay the monthly rental fee. I wanted something that would be robust, as I worked from home and a solid modem was essential. While it is true you can find cheaper modems, why go cheap when eventually this will pay for itself? Some of the setup does seem to be a bit "technical". My unit is so old, I should perform a firmware upgrade. But my philosophy is "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I have been completely satisfied with the performance and longevity of this modem.

After finally deciding on a provider, I opened the box for the first time and hooked everything up. Then I called to activate it and was told since it was more than 90 days old, I’d have to purchase a warranty plan in order to receive tech support. I was able to get it working by downloading the app only for it to stop less than 8 hours later. I threw it in the garbage and bought a different brand and have had no trouble all week.

The IT Dept that I called was outsourced and had “techs” that were really hard to understand. My router wasn’t downloading a much needed update and they refused to offer any kind of help. I get that everything is a business and they have to make money somehow but I really wish they stood by their products a little more and catered to the people who make them money. I will not be buying my next router from NETGEAR.

I am horrible with technology, but I was able to set up my modem/router on my own just by using the app. I ran into some issues, but the troubleshooting options they gave resolved my problem with ease. The range and speed of the Wifi I have is excellent and meets all my needs. Purchasing a Netgear modem/router saved me a lot of money by not having to rent a modem/router from my internet service provider.

I used the xfinity app to get everything set up, then downloaded the nighthawk app and was able to change the name and password for the network. Took about an hour for me to get everything going and the modem itself is very small and fits easily behind my desk out of sight. Very happy!

It comes out of box at 100% power that causes the device to get extremely hot and therefore needs to be reset at least 3 times a day to get it to re connect. Lowering the power will definitely help but will cause low coverage. This is not an issue for me but could be for many others. This is the only issue I have noticed.

This equipment actually works better because I no longer lose internet constantly throughout the day. It was difficult to set up with XFINITY due to lack of knowledge by the Xfinity tech. Once NETGEAR was installed on my phone, it was simple to connect to service.

I was at first intimidated by the task of setting it up, but after activating the device through the Nighthawk app, everything has been smooth. Then when trying to restart it, it wouldn’t turn back on at all. You’re better off going with what your internet provider offers instead.

When I called to get help to set it up she told me that it doesn't work with app and the pamphlet Inside the Box says that it works with the Nighthawk app but I had so many problems with it that I haven't tried to reset up the app on my phone and that is why I only put 4 stars.

I have 300 Mbps cable service. I got the Ookla Speedtest app and learned that my Ethernet is running at ~340 Mbps (great!). WiFi download speeds were all over the map, depending on the device. - 2.4 Ghz Band --- iPhone 6S - 78.0 --- 6th Gen iPad - 71.9 - 5 Ghz Band --- iPhone 6S - 158.3 --- 6th Gen iPad - 325.3 This router is supposed to deliver

It was cheaper and with the excellent help from the Netgear trouble shooters was on-line with all my devices in 20 to 30 minutes. Will stick with Netgear from now on. Great product.

I do not know but my printer was out until I replaced with a new router. Up to this point I had no issues with Net Gear.

If you log into the modem it will advise all is well and the Wi-Fi is operating normally even though it is not broadcasting. I have purchased two of these modems. Both have had the same issue.

This purchase will save you at least $20 a month rather than renting equipment from your internet provider. You will be happy with the speed and the product. Xfinity was kind enough after three weeks to land their hand in that direction. At 68 years old I’m not the sharpest tech person in the box. But I made the call to Netgear and I got an amazing person that was so patient and so kind and so caring and stayed with me the entire time. This took probably over an hour because again I’m kind of an old lady these days and this gentleman took his time and waited for me to do exactly step-by-step what he recommended. I am overjoyed and have since talked to a few of my pickle ball gals about my experience and recommended that gear router modem to own out right instead of paying the extra monthly fees through Xfinity/Comcast. I am now on a campaign to encourage my son and his new wife to do the same and to please call the technical support of Netgear when that happens because their staff is amazing hands-down…I could be happier

We used to have a NETGEAR C3700 which was decent for the price, but it wasn't matching current internet plan mbps. We also have about 20 devices connected at all times. Once we switched over to 6300, we definitely saw improvements because our devices don't disconnect as much as before. Didn't give a full 5 stars because we still experience some buffering/lagging when streaming or online gaming. However, we're not sure if it's that because of our ISP or the router.

Checked best buy and Walmart, Walmart had this same one about $40-50 cheaper online, so it was a no brainer. Got it home same day pickup and started setting it up. Had to call netgear for help, they were great, they reminded me I had to call my wifi provider to get the box approved and working. I did that when I was done with them and it worked great after that. Would buy again.

The 2.4 showed up when we initially set up, but it disappeared. We needed to have both. We restarted it with no success. We sent it back and started using our MG7550. We will replace it if it starts acting up again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Netgear Router Great product overall, easy installation, customer service was top notch, they called me back after I hung up on them and was extremely rude due to frustration of situation with of losing wifi service; nothing to do with product,, to help me fix my problem with exceptional patience to further assist me. I would take them a solid 9, if not 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Netgear AC1750 I have had Netgear modem/routers in the past and they have always performed well. After Ian we needed new equipment for our home. A key aspect is the compatibility with XFINITY and to support a Ruckus switch box. It was an easy setup and all TVs and devices on the network are working great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only half worked Product was easy to set up and worked great but only half way. The router modem only would pull up the 5.0 network which worked wonderfully. After lots of troubleshooting the 2.4 network never worked which is needed for a lot of smart home devices. Returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of installing. Purchased exact model of previous 6 year old model, when told by isp provider that modem was probably problem for not connecting to internet. ISP provider still could not connect to internet after I installed new modem. ISP technician came to premise and was able to activate modem to internet. All is well. Not sure if original modem had malfunctioned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved me! I have a holland lop bunny, and a budding online shop. One afternoon I discovered a chewed up power cord to my old router. The modem (separate) was okay…but doing no good without the router. This made me rethink the amount of cords happening in my life… I immediately started searching newer 2-in-1 models that would not only reduce the amount of cords, but also perform better. I was able to get same day delivery in a matter of hours, and get right back to it! Absolutely a breeze to set up and get back to working! (Side note, also have purchased cord protectors just in case ??) The connection is SO much better/faster now and all is well once again!
