Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replaces my Surface - Happy! I've had this ThinkPad X1 tablet for about a week now, love it! First, the craftmanship is MUCH better than the Surface Pro! I needed a larger screen (I do a lot of split screen editing and 12" wasn't enough) and the extra inch really helps. The machine is light, but sturdy and I really love the size of the keyboard. I primarily use a Bluetooth keyboard (Logitech K780) and mouse (M720) and detach the provided keyboard when possible (needed the full # keypad). This thing is fast. I opted for the i7/16GB RAM since you can't upgrade this later. I hope I never have to service the machine, but that is an option unlike the "glued together" Surface. I would catch this on sale (I did) or see if your employer offers a discount as it is on the pricey side of tablets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Business Travel and at home Use I bought the ThinkPad X1 after doing a lot of online and in store research. I was already a fan of Lenovos and have a Yoga I use at home. The X1 has only added to my loyalty for the brand. I love the feel and sturdiness, it is zippy (i have an i7 version and looks great too. The keyboard is comfortable and large enough for everyday use and the screen is amazing. Tablet mode and utilizing touch screen are incomparable to other brands in my opinion. Regular use includes Office programs, social media monitoring and email.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this very much I bought this tablet, to have a PC product that I could use with customers on the go, when Apple product's compatibility with my PC network made it more challenging. I have only had it two weeks but I like it so far. The laptop function if great, and I am learning more and more daily about how to use it in tablet mode. Apps are so much less than Apple, but I am able to find the most important ones. I am very happy with it, and I am sure it will only get better as I learn the tablet functions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great software and hardware Just switched from a macbook air to lenovo with windows and am very happy. Physically the tablet and keyboard are great and easy to switch between. Tablet mode works great in Windows. The pen is a great alternative to a mouse, I use both but it's really nice to use whichever is best in the moment, or whichever is handy. The kickstand can be put in any position and stays there very well, even when tapping or writing with the pen which is impressive. Doesn't get too hot and although the battery life isn't amazing, it works plenty well for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Bigger, Better Windows Tablet I'm a Computer Engineering student, so I use a computer a lot. Before purchasing this tablet I had been using an Android tablet and trying to make do with a desktop at home, but that didn't end up working once I needed to collaborate with people and doing serious work. That's one thing that this tablet excels in is serious work. It has more screen real estate and the aspect ratio for multitasking. The fingerprint sensor is fast, the keyboard and track pad are excellent, and the pen input is accurate. I use this device for both taking notes as well as programming and typing, so the form-factor is the best for me. I appreciate the added screen size in comparison to the competition in this form-factor, as well as the inclusion of two Thunderbolt 3 ports. This addition allows for the use of an external battery bank and can more than double the battery life before needing to plug into a wall, something that can't be matched by the competition currently. Overall, this tablet is the best in its class in my experience, and Lenovo should absolutely do a refresh for the 9th generation of Intel mobile processors or even an ARM based model such as the always-connected devices have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, great features, just what I was looking for Bought these to compare with a Windows tablet and laptop and I an much more pleased with the overall feel and durability of the Lenovo's. It will be getting rough use in a warehouse environment, so it needed to be light, it needed good battery life, and it needed to be running the current 10 OS to be compatible with our ERP Software. The Lenovo checks all of the boxes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy I bought this last week and was immediately impressed to see that it came with a protective case included in addition to the keyboard and the pen. The tablet powers on almost instantly and the performance so far is stellar, and web pages render smoothly. The pen also writes smooth and natural. I am more than pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesomeness in a sturdy package(built like a tank) I was waiting for this tablet to finally be on a price range on our budget and it finally came. I bought it as a replacement for my laptop and tablet since I travel a lot for work. I used to carry the tablet for customers signatures and catalogue displays and the laptop for some heavy work in Illustrator, Excel and Sketchup. Don get confused, this tablet is a beast that can handle all my desktop load except gaming, I even transfered all my Lightroom media and catalog (with backup on my NAS of course) and now I can work everywhere I am on whatever task at hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall great deal This laptop is a compact test powerful 2-in-1. Sleek design and quite practical. The keyboard is great and when typing feels like a regular laptop (from a size standpoint). If you get this laptop I recommend the Photodon screen protector as it one flaw is the protective coat of the gorilla glass screen. The screen will show signs of scratching so spend the $40. Given you get the keyboard and stylus with the laptop shelling out $40 isn’t bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Tablet PC Ever This X1 Tablet is a Surface Pro Killer! This table packs the power of an i7 / 16gb Carbon with the versatility of a tablet. I didn’t want to go anything bigger or a 2 in 1 because not traveling. I work with a Lenovo desktop in the office and become a road warrior with this tablet. If you are going to get an X1 tablet treat yourself and max it out!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect 2 in 1 I've had this for a few weeks and it meets all of my needs. It is convenient to carry around and the different configurations increase it's convenience. It runs great. If I had to give a couple downsides it would be that it gets hotter than I expected and it's battery life could be better. However it's a great machine that meets all my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything the surface should have been and more Let me start off by saying that I work for an it management firm that supports 400 local companies and over 12000 end users. We are dell and hp partners. Many of my customers like the idea of the surface, the ability to have it be a tablet or a laptop, the ability to dock the machine and replace your desktop pc, but honestly the surface falls flat. The Lenovo is great at everything that we dislike about the surface.. Included equipment- the surface keyboard and pen are additional items that need to be purchased separately, which would be ok if the surface was less expensive than the Lenovo, but it’s not. It’s actually more expensive to get a surface without a keyboard and pen than it is to get the Lenovo with it included Keyboard case- the Microsoft keyboard case is fine but honestly isn’t great to type on. The Lenovo is fantastic, just like a Lenovo laptop. It also supports dual pointing. Docking- the surface uses a proprietary dock connector and has issues coming in and out of docking. The Lenovo has thunderbolt 3 just like every other mainstream device made in the last 3 years. Dell, hp, Acer, asus, razer, Apple, and many more all support the thunderbolt 3 standard. It works well supports tons of bandwidth and has many docking options supporting 1 to 3+ monitors. Thunderbolt is a standard, so all thunderbolt 3 devices are supported on all thunderbolt 3 pcs. In an office like mine where people travel from location to location, a thunderbolt 3 dock can be used by a variety of devices, while a surface dock can be used for one thing. The quality and speed of the device is fantastic. Real world usage sees 4 hours of battery life. It charges quickly and spare chargers are inexpensive. I’ve used this device on docks from startech, plugable, and hp without issue. It really works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern technology with old fashion reliability One of the reasons that I bought the X1 it that I have been using the Thinkpad keyboard for a very long time and plain refuse to use the layout that combines the Page Up/Down with the Arrow Up/Down as it causes a lot of typo errors in my writing. Overall, the X1 is light weight and fast, as well as allows great flexibility is usage situations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek, Simple, Sophisticated, Poweful! I bought this around a month ago, it's been working great so far. It doesn't feel heavy at all but does all the processor based heavy lifting. Got an i7 256 GB SSD 8GB Ram model! The kick stand works just great. Would be a little better if the usb -c thunderbolt ports were a littler lower. Also since its a tablet laptop - without the kick stand, it won't stand like traditional laptop.. The detachable keyboard alone cannot support the screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThinkPad X1 Tablet - ruler of all tablets Love this tablet so far! I spent a long time researching what tablet to purchase, and I settled on the ThinkPad X1 tablet and I couldn't be happier. A big selling point for me was the keyboard; it had to be tactile, and it had to be detachable. While I considered other tablets like the Windows Surface, I did not like the feeling of the keyboard and how it typed. And while I considered other 2-in-1s like the Lenovo X1 Yoga, I did not like that the keyboard could not be detached... I did see on the Lenovo website that they recently stopped making the X1 tablet, so I do hope in the future Lenovo reissues it and comes out with newer generations because it's a fantastic system, and certainly what I'll be looking for when it comes time to replace this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best got even Better The best has gotten better. I had the 2nd Gen and thought it was an already excellent machine. But the 3rd Generation of this machine takes this model to new heights. With a bigger screen, you have a greater surface area to utilize, and this makes signing and editing documents so much easier then on my previous iteration. Battery life is still very strong even on my 10 hour day shifts, I rarely have to charge the device during working hours., the new and improved magnetic keyboard is bigger as well, making it a dream to type on, and has protected my screen from two separate 5 foot falls. My only complaint, is the pen and the pen holder. I still prefer the Active Pen 2 over the Active Pen 1. This is mainly due to the cumbersome and too fat feel of the included Active 1 Pen. It feels much like a giant crayon, rather than a sleek and smooth stylus, like the Active Pen 2 is. As always, I haven't been let down by Lenovo's products in 14 years, and this product is no exception to the long running success I have had while using their machines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I should know better and stick with lenovo That's is my 4th Lenovo (all the other three still works and I passed to friends and family. As far as I see on this one, I will stick with lenovo. But my last note I switched to another premium brand windows based, and I was disappointed, in two years, the OS went crazy, even after format and the battery stuffed and support did not helped. NEVER had any kind of problem with my lenovos (and I treated then worse than they disserved, for sure) As far as I saw from this one, I will keep it with lenovo, the weight is great, keyboard has a bigger travel than I thought (in a good way), it's very similar to a regular Thinkpad and the magnets attach very easy. The computer itself is very sturdy (even the stand). I didnt put the specs to much for a test yet, but seen very good so far. The screen is great and the pen, I can't compare, because it's the first time I use one, but I'm really impressed with quality and pressure point details. The only thing a little awkward is the pencil hold, I don't see a real motive for it to not be magnet, but for sure, a small issue comparing the rest

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Time X1 - A great experience Great screen, full sized removable keyboard with durability and firmness to serve as a real laptop like keyboard, allowing you to work comfortably without a table. Larger screen size and vivid display may this a very "usable" device for traveling executives or daily use standard. Also should point out that the hinges and stand are much more durable than competitor products, metal, reinforced. Performance is solid with great use of biometric capabilities of Win 10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bricked after less than a week The tablet is great, but I can't say the same about its durability. While the unit, keyboard, and pen are all constructed well, the entire device stopped working after three days of moderate use. One day I got the blue screen of death and then the entire device was bricked, no bios screen or anything. It is wonderfully powerful, but not reliable. Others online have had this issue as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why so difficult? I am not loving this machine as I anticipated. I did ALOT of research before replacing my 10 yr old Toshiba Satellite/Win 7 that still works just with an external keyboard. I have worked with other touchscreens laptops and Win 10 and tablets. I decided to go with this unit for ultraportability, I am a mariner, and needed it as functional as possible for being as lightweight/portable as possible. First off I am blown away that I can't even tell if it is charging externally, and even the icon on the screen isn't instantly informative. Response time is NOT what I expected for the high specs on this unit. Because of the travelling I do I needed it to be able to get it's own internet signal and I called multiple times to confirm this model does that. When it arrived I find it has a slot to put the SIM card but does not have a "cellular" option under the network and internet option in settings, even though there is a mobile plan program option loaded on the computer. I have major issues with the touchpad being too sensitive. I have adjusted it to the lowest setting and turned off most of the multi-finger options and still have issues of it sensing a touch when there is none, or not sensing it when I am repeatedly giving it a command. This is my first Thinkpad [and probably only] and the problem I have with the red trackball is the opposite of the pad. Both can be so frustratingly faulty, that then when I also get the touchscreen alternating between too sensitive or not reading some touches, then I just have to turn off the computer and walk away. Hence, I have not got much accomplished with this unit thus far. I have spent some time researching on forums, but I am more than annoyed that I have to spend time to do this as I don't have all the time in the world to search. Couple these issues with the fact that Microsoft email is slow as molasses no matter how many times I reset it, and I find this computer on the verge of non functional. Meanwhile the backup battery I purchased at the same time came dead on arrival and it has taken almost a month for a replacment to arrive. So far I've only had time to charge that and then put it on the 6% battery on the laptop to which it only charged to 85% and then started clicking....no lights. Don't get me started as to the run around I had to get someone who could actually give me the customer service to replace that. [it goes thru the Ideapad department-go figure] I am very close to returning everything I purchased. If I can get fast and direct effective solutions to the above from Lenovo then I'll reconsider. Cheers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would have been great but... I bought this a little over 30 days ago. I purchased it for use in my Master's program. I have the software all set up and can't do without it at this point. The problem is, the front facing webcam is defective. It has a horizontal color streak pattern with a bunch of artifacting. Looks like it might be a loose cable. I didn't need that camera until recently; so, I didn't really see this problem until I tried to use it. It's not a driver issue either. I tried a Debian live boot usb and the Linux webcam app has the exact same issue. I've had a couple of usb devices that seem to cut in and out. I thought it was the devices, but now I'm wondering if I just got a bad system. Otherwise, build quality and features are great. The flaws are in features that I didn't immediately use or recognize. Had there been better quality control, this would have been a five star review. There are also random issues with the keyboard backlight not behaving consistent, and occasionally not being recognized.

But, I cannot be applied to 4k @60hz resolution with Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 dock. And battery capacity is a little a bit small. But, it has great performance for business and personal usage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worse laptop ever!!! The worse laptop I have ever owned (at least 10). The first issue is the "kickstand". It constantly collapses and it is impossible to use the computer on a small surface such as in a plane. The second major issue is the touchscreen which is much too sensitive. Even if you get close to it, the curser jumps and you lose your place. Finally, about every third day it gets a mind of its own and is uncontrollable. It need to scanned with an antivirus and rebooted. I hate it, and will try to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did not know what to expect... was Very Surprised I wanted an extremely portable laptop for my travels that could do everything I would need... Photo-Editing - Emails - Browsing about all I was expecting... but tested out some video editing (Lite versions of software) and heavy photo editing software and this little guy preformed like a champ... it's not a decked out Gaming machine or Heavy Video Editing machine... but it handles itself with everything I do... so I don't have to carry two separate laptops anymore... this little guy does it all and it's also a tablet for on the plane I don't have the keyboard or mouse... all around 5 stars ... great piece of work from Lenovo...!!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Incredible Device! I bought this device to be used in a Classroom. As a teacher, I instruct in a classroom that is fully 1:1. Traditional laptops are too heavy or awkward to use while walking around the classroom, so I was looking for something unique. This device met all the criteria and needs of what I was looking for. - The Screen: A high resolution screen, with pen support - Makes grading super easy. - The Performance: An incredibly powerful chip packed into a small form factor. - The SSD: An incredibly fast bootup time, makes loading instructional tools quick and easy. - The Detachable: Being able to take the tablet around the classroom without the keyboard is a life saver! Not having to lug around a bulky keyboard is so great! - The actual keyboard: When I'm back at my desk, I often have emails, curriculum, etc to work on. I am surprised to say that this keyboard is also phenomenal. - The ports: I am absolutely astonished that they were able to include not only two USB ports, but they're also Thunderbolt. USB-C/Thunderbolt is the future, and having a port that can be adapted to nearly any other is so handy. For example, being able to run an HDMI adapter to my projector has been incredibly useful! - The Thermals / Performance: I am amazed at how incredibly quiet the device is. For the power that is packed in these devices and the size of this, I am amazed that I still have never had any problems. - The Battery: The battery is the only area that I would say is "Average." However, I am not rating it down, because Lenovo has provided some great tools. The Vantage App has some great ways to get the most out of your battery. In addition, power saver mode, and changing some settings - can really boost the battery. With that said, even though I call the battery life "average." It is still perfectly fine. Being able to charge this via its ports from a portable adapter, makes it even easier to stay always charged. I try to analyze my products and weigh the pros and cons. But I honestly cannot think of anything that I dislike about this product. Lenovo has really made some fantastic decisions. Their Lenovo Vantage App is actually incredibly useful, there are timely updates, everything just works great together. If you're in the market for a device, this is the one for you. It has all of the best features, with no compromise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Recently bought the X1 Tablet and I’m happy I did. Has an amazing design is very functional. The classic thinkpad looks combined with a powerful I7 gen 8 was exactly what I was looking for. The only 2 things I would improve would be the pen holder, maybe a magnet would be better, and the battery life could also be a little better, but an amazing product nonetheless [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great construction! Came as advertised, but I wasn't expecting the level of quality. The keyboard has been beefed up such that the computer looks/feels more like a conventional laptop (still much thinner). One drawback is a lack of conventional USBs, only USB-C so you'll need adapters. These also serve as the video outputs. Even so, its a pretty cool machine. Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Nice Package, but Runs Hot I recently purchased the top-of-the-line model of this device. I love the portability and the aesthetics of the device, the keyboard is absolutely amazing and the screen is wonderful. I also really like the stylus. That said, the device runs very hot regardless of what load I'm putting on it, and (perhaps related) the battery life is VERY poor. I barely get four hours on normal settings, half brightness. Definitely not a device to carry around without a cord, which detracts from its portability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good combination of everything Bought it as I have been seeking a solid Surface form factor product with full Thunderbolt support. This actually turns out to be the only choice for the moment and it lives up to my expectation. The thermal control has room for further improvement though. After upgraded to 1803 I noticed occasional freezes that requires to close the lid (keyboard cover) and reopen to resolve. Seems related to software rather than hardware, but is worth investigating. Besides, battery life is rather mediocre. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing tablet I have used Thinkpad products for many years, and have few negatives to speak of. This 3rd Gen tablet is amazing. The i5 processor is amazingly fast, the screen size is great for note taking, the keyboard/cover is solid. It has taken a little time to break in the red trackpoint(not as easy to use as with my X220) but still good. The touchpad is very smooth and responsive. Love how sensitive it is. My only negative is the difficulty of using it my lap. But then again, it is a tablet. This tablet gives me the freedom to be completely digital with my work. I have not truly tested the battery life yet. I do a lot of note taking using onenote. The stylus is very responsive. I would have liked to of had the same stylus that came with my X220 tablet. Primarily the digital eraser. I know I am not using it to its fullest. There is more to explore. You cant go wrong with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of Both Worlds This tablet works really well for my needs. I am a teacher and use numerous applications on the laptop to interact with my students. Being able to quickly detach to keyboard and have students interact with this technology has really enhanced their learning experiences. I also have to type numerous extended documents. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall happy experience I can say, at this point I am happy with my purchase. I find myself detaching the keyboard quite often and using in just tablet mode. The kick stand is good enough to hold it in position when I'm drawing on it (noon). The screen is bright. When I do use the keyboard, the keys feel good to use. I'm ok with usb-c everything as I'm going that way anyway, but the one thing I wish could be a little better is if the power port was a little bit lower. Other than that... So far a really good experience. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressive 2 in 1- best of the best I received my x1 tablet (gen 3) a few weeks ago. So far I have nothing but praise for it. It's very compact and light so it's perfect as a machine you can bring with you everywhere- work, home, on the go, ect. I love that they bumped the processors up with the gen 3. Mine has the 8th gen i7-8650U processor, 16gb ram and 512ssd. It's lightening fast for my needs. I was also shopping the microsoft surface pro, surfacebook 2, google pixelbook and a few other things but I kept coming back to the x1. I would recommend waiting for a sale price. I wanted to get a x1 as soon as gen 3's were released but I knew they would eventually run a sale or lower the price which they did. I got mine for an excellent price. Also recommend student discount. I have a T42 that I purchased in 2004 that's been under my bed for 4 yrs and hasn't been touched. I was in a jam at home and needed a word processor so I found the old boy and he fired up and worked. I trust thinkpads, they are extremely well and I wanted something that would last. Hopefully the x1 keeps impressing me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great I bought the MS competitor but returned and ordered this one. I got the base model with the IR camera. The screen is comparable to the competition but is larger. I would have preferred the finger print reader to be on the keyboard instead of the screen and I could do without the branding on the screen and keyboard and back of the unit (Enough Advertising)? The disk performance is good. Windows 10 has issues that MS is still working on after all this time to make tablet devices work. The nub on the keyboard I don't care for. The trackpad is average size but I prefer the Mac trackpad. Nothing comes close to that. Battery life is average. Definitely not 10 hours. The competitor seems to have the edge here with a last gen CPU. Seems Lenovo put a too small battery in here. The unit is serviceable! which means I can replace the battery myself if it ever wears out or swap the SSD if I ever want to. RAM is not upgradeable, however. The pen is good enough, but the holder is useless. It falls out and if you use a bag it will catch on the sides. Prefer a magnetic pen like the competition has. The cameras are a catch 22. It seems Lenovo puts in LOW END cameras if you order the base model. Only the $2000 plus version has a 2MP front. Mine is 720p. Really not acceptable. The competition is 5MP. Rear is 8MP but who uses the rear camera on a tablet this size? Video conferencing on this will be poor. The keyboard is solid, but still has the same amount of flex as the type cover on competing products. I do like the color better. Black is cool. The Thinkpad surface is a fingerprint magnet if you have oily hands. Fortunately I don't so it does not effect me that much and the light smudges wipe off. The screen resolution is great, but MS continues to be brain dead with HIDPI products. Remote Desktop is unusable even when scaled. Things are either too tiny or when scaled blurry. \ I feel these are overpriced. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love at First Sight This thing came with everything a developer could ask for and also still be a tablet. It is sooooo sweeeeet! It's light. So far, I love the way this product has been designed and the performance is excellent. I'm still tuning settings to keep the tablet cool when I'm using it as a tablet. I wanted indexing on, because I have a large collection of software books in PDF form so it's running hot for now. Once the indexing is done, it should be cool as usual. The keyboard! Dude/Dudette! That keyboard beats regular keyboards. How the heck did they do that with a tablet keyboard? Did I mention that I love this tablet? :) The only thing I would've liked to get as options but they were not available at the time, and I knew I could live without them if necessary: WWAN and IR Camera for Windows Hello. This is my personal computer, and not the one the company I work for provides anyway...which is a 32GB RAM/1TB OPAL 2 HD P52s. And let me tell you, they must've shipped this the moment I clicked my order button. The darn thing came to me in 2 days with their standard shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tablets have come a long way. Works w razer core I bought a surface pro I7 initially, but returned it when I learned about this device. For a little more money you have an 8th gen 4 core i7 (surface has 7th gen 2 core). You get the keyboard and pen (although the surface pen is 3x better, the x1 keyboard is better than the surface) included. You also get thunderbolt 3. So I previously had a I7-7700k desktop with a gtx 1080ti to play games on my Alienware 34 monitor. If you do any kind of gaming once you go past 60hz screens you never want to go back. But I wanted a single device I could take with me during the day and plug back in when I got home. The only options were ultrabooks except maybe the asus transformer. This generation bumped the CPU from an anemic 4.5W power cpu last generation to an appropriate 15W cpu (desktop cpus are usually 90w for comparison). This computer is almost as fast as my desktop which had 32gb memory. The only thing is the cpu is less powered and there is some thermal throttling as expected, but I do not notice it in any modern games. I have overwatch at 165fps on max settings. I changed my monitor to an acer predator 271hu since Ultrawide is not ideal for first person shooters. I initially bought an gigabyte aorus gaming box with a mini 1080 and it worked fine except the USB ports on the gaming box didn’t work consistently with my peripherals (a known issue on all egpus). The Razer Core v2 is the only one at the time of this writing with 2 tb3 controllers to fix the usb issues. I put an evga gtx 1080ti ftw3 in it and use Corsair peripherals and a steelseries headset. All work great once razer synapse 2 is installed and drivers updated. Of note since you do not have regular usb A ports u need an adapter. I would try to get a wireless mouse that has Bluetooth option. (I use a Corsair dark core since it can be Bluetooth or plugged in or 2.4 ghz for gaming) Also, the distance between the tb3 ports is wider than a MacBook Pro so all of the amazon adapters for mbp with 2 male plugs will not fit. Overall I love this device. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best windows tablet on the market I have been using this tablet for a month and I'd like to say that it exceeded my expectation. Pros: Great build quality, great screen, great keyboard, great writing experience, user-replaceable hard drive and battery (needs to open the back cover), good performance as a thin tablet, LTE option, fast fingerprint reader. Cons: Wide screen bezel, bad sound quality, relatively small battery. Battery life is OK after undervolting but should be better. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great device with average quality I bought this device a month ago. It's a great device, very powerful. Display, keyboard, and touchpad are awesome. Unfortunately, my device has 2 major issues: 1. Fingerprint scanner does not work. Device manager shows that it works correctly, Windows Hello sees the scanner, but I can not add a finger. There is no reaction on my swiping, absolutely. I've tried a lot of receipts from the Internet with no luck (different versions of the driver, BIOS settings, Windows 10 builds (1709, 1803, 1809)). 2. Windows 10 does not a microphone from headsets when I connect them over 3.5mm jack. It was a big surprise for me. I need a microphone in my work, I speak a lot over Google Hangouts =\

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, portable, solid performer! This is a fantastic device! It's not the most powerful version but it runs modeling software just fine. The only real downside is that you can't really set a screen angle, especially if not on an even surface. If you're using this device for mainly desk work it might make sense to go for the thinkpad yoga or something along those lines just because it is slightly less awkward. However, if you want something you can regularly use as a tablet and is very comfortable to draw on, this is your computer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Step aside Microsoft Surface Pro I've had every MS Surface device since they launched....This is better, WAY better. Love the Surface form factor and the fact that it's a design reference device for a host of reasons including portability, ability to write/sign contracts with a stylus, kickstand with unlimited viewing angles, thin light package to name a few. The X1 Tablet at about the same price, or a hair more expensive is better for these reasons: 1. While Microsoft Surface keyboards are better now, they still cannot hold a candle to the X1 Thinkpad keyboard. If you seriously need to type, take notes and data input is crucial there is no better keyboard than the Thinkpad BAR NONE! It's comforting to know I can work as efficiently on this device as my desktop, no more carrying a Logitech BT Keyboard just to use my MS Surface. 2. Size...13 inches of screen makes a difference. The Surface is just a tad small. This is easier to see, easier to work on, easier to explain while you review docs with clients and easier to sign on. 3. LTE Modem. I turn it on, it grabs my T-Mobile LTE connection and its as if I'm sitting at my desk most of the time....no more hunting for wifi networks, always on, always connected, always in business....I'll never go back to wifi only. 4. The Thinkpad X1 Tablet is simply more elegant and classier than the Surface. There's a higher level of professionalism this all black device offers, it's noticeably better. What I like about the form factor: 1. Stylus. I'm a real estate professional and I need to write contracts and have them signed. The ability to save contracts, disclosures, reports, inspections and other documents as a pdf, then have them signed by clients on the fly when I'm with them in person is HUGE! No more back to the office, no rescheduling a follow up appointment, no more printing, just create, save as a pdf and sign right on the screen. From there I can email a signed contract to the client so it's waiting for them digitally, archiving the doc/s in my transaction management platform. 2. I can create educational videos and loop them for display at open houses. 3. I can use the tablet with specialized software to offer key data, reports, inspections, disclosures etc when prospective buyers sign in on this device at an open house. It's a huge time saver and it elevates my level of professionalism in the eyes of visitors. CONS: 1. Battery life has been averaging between 4.5 to 6 hours, no where near the 11-14 hours my Surface Pro offers. 2. An entry level Surface which is powerful enough to get the job done is about $200 less. Microsoft and Costco have sales making the Surface a bit more expensive. The larger screen, elevated professional presence and ThinkPad Keyboard are worth the extra investment. Couple these benefits with the LTE modem and this beast is a workhorse. ***Note to Lenovo, a few extra pounds is an acceptable tradeoff for better battery life. Please improve the battery life, this battery is not acceptable*** [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mixed feelings It runs super fast, but the battery life isn’t quite as advertised. I reduced screen brightness and turned off Bluetooth, etc., but it still eats power quicker than expected. The touch pad is awful. I have Thinkpad laptop too, and that isn’t half the pain in the rear this thing is. I’ve tried adjusting all the sensitivity settings and such, but it’s darn near impossible to use. I gave up trying The other morning because it was so frustrating. The pen that comes with it for the touchscreen has to be carried separately. It comes with a clip attach it externally to the computer, but it’s just asking to fall off. On the plus side, it is fast, and very light. Overall, I’m disappointed. I wouldn’t go for this model again. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Machine Keeps Soft Crashing When it works, it works. Note taking, low load programs, and Autocad Moblie work pretty well. What doesn't work is the consistent crashing. Its done this three times now. What occurs is this: I turn on the machine, it logins in, the toolbar is missing, the start menu doesn't work, and the computer doesn't recognize my inputs. The next thing that happens is that I try to turn it off and it doesn't work. I hold the off button for about 10 seconds if not more, still doesn't turn off. I use the emergency off button underneath the kick-stand via a male Dupont Wire Jumper, and it shuts off. I then proceed to turn it on again it logs-in, but takes longer this time. And guess what. It still has the toolbar missing and start menu/ windows stops working. After about three hours I'll turn it on again and functions as normal. Also Microsoft Word doesn't recognize text docs at first and still says it isn't the default even though I've set it as the default word processor and text document viewer. The same goes for Powerpoint, but not Excel. All of this of course occurs during lecture and lab. So, I still have to lug around a paper notebook just in case this machine dies on me, defeating it's intended purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Laptop, Misleading Product Features There is no optional WWAN. The WWAN slot is not populated on the motherboard so it won't be possible to upgrade later, either. If you're considering spending 2300+ for the top model and expected to be able to exercise the option for WWAN, reconsider. Otherwise, it is honestly a pretty good laptop/tablet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PC Ran into problem when keyboard is detached! I had used X1 tablet 1st generation, and recently changed to the 3rd generation. At first glance, it seems great compared to the previous version (large screen and keyboard, etc). I however noted that when I detach the keyboard, the PC sometimes ran into problem showing a blue screen!! This is really a shame given that this is the latest version and mine is the top model. I also found that although the batter life is obviously longer than the 1st gen, it lasts about 4 hours under web surfing. The system error which occurs when keyboard is detached must be fixed soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well thought out device. This is a really great example of the modern hybrid tablet concept. Excellent integration and overall design. I'd first like to say that the sylus is everything I hoped for. I haven't installed photoshop yet, but in general productivity activities its just outstanding. The stylus itself is a nice weight and gives an impression of decent quality. The software and integration has clearly come a long ways in the last few years. The keyboard is good as a keyboard but does a great job of getting out of the way when not needed. It detaches and reattaches well, makes a good cover when closed, folds out of the way and deactivates seamlessly. Layout is OK with some awkward placements such as Home/End being hard to find and too removed from PgUp/Dn. Also keyboard is heartbreakingly missing the context key (menu key or application key), instead replaced by an ill placed PrintScreen key. Major complaint is that the keyboard is so thin and light that it flexes noticeably during any normal use. You can accidently click the mouse buttons by just pressing on the back side of the keyboard. The screen is nice, but not exceptional. Touch input is spot on. The case/body is designed well and stays cool and quiet. Feels very solid in the hands. The kickstand is secure and well built. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Good Alternative to the Surface I maxed out the specs (except the hard drive), and it runs like a champ. It's super fast and efficient even when I run multiple programs at once. I love Wacom digitizers, so that was a big selling point for me, and this tablet has not disapointed. The screen size is great- portable but not too tiny. My only gripe is the battery life. On a good day it get six hours at most. Luckily it charges pretty fast (about 2 hours to charge from a single digest percentage to 100). If you don't have the money for an overpriced surface or want a larger screen, this is a great solution. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Computer with a Fatal Screen Coating Flaw The X1 Tablet 3rd Generation is an absolutely brilliant device! Excellent specifications, great performance, amazing price…all wrapped up in a screen that will be damaged by the tablet’s own TrackPoint hardware. Some coating—or the screen glass itself!—will be abraded and damaged by the TrackPoint keys when the keyboard is closed against the screen. This will leave permanent scuffs on the otherwise brilliant display. (Note: This damage is caused by the keyboard made by, and provided by, Lenovo!) See all the instances of this flaw, and read the experiences of X1 Tablet 3rd Gen users, at Lenovo’s own user forum: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Tablets/X1-Tablet-3rd-Gen-Screen-scratching/m-p/4331893#M34941 If you’re interested in the X1, watch the forum thread referenced above for updates on the screen scuffing issue and Lenovo’s response (or, as the case has been so far, non-response). I’m a long-time devoted Lenovo customer. Their inaction and reluctance to address this issue has made me a devoted Dell customer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from still quirky.. i was disappointed with the Helix (1st gen) some 5 years ago, so had a Dell XPS 13 inbetween, but really wanted to go back to a pen-operated, hybrid. While the device is very neat, it is still rather quirky to use: 2 USB 3 Thunderbolt hubs later, i decided to go with a Lenovo one, but even this one connects rather clumsily - all the way to completely hanging the system (only salvaged by a hard reset using the pinhole at the back). If you are used to the nifty, responsive screen rotation/ accessory extension of an iPad you must be disappointed. As well very finicky when it comes to charging (even if the lenovo hub front TB source provides 60W, the X1 Tablet rejects it - and have to instead plug at the rear with a very short TB cable).. battery time disappointing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, Durable and Light I recently purchased the ThinkPad X1 tablet 3rd Gen and not only did it come in 3 days delivery time but when I opened it I was excited to find out how light it was, durable and similar to all the other thinkpads I have purchased. The device is very light yet very durable. It is powerful with the i7 processor 8th generation and has excellent storage capacity. I highly recommend this product if it is still available!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hybrid device. Can be perfect :) I got this souped up X1 Tablet about a month ago along with a used T460s. I love that the X1 tablet has for the most part retained that amazing keyboard and provides a great typing experience. It's even lappable for the most part if you are careful. It's a joy to use for reading papers and taking notes. The only disappointments are that the power key is not always easy to press and the battery life could be better. Rated 5 out of 5 by from great work machine with minor caveats I've been using it for about a month. It is perfect for the use pattern I envisioned of being a (admittedly very large) tablet to read papers while I'm on the train, and then converting into a laptop for work while I'm at home or the office. The keyboard, despite being detachable and quite light, is very solid to type on. The weight is less than my previous laptop, let alone the laptop+tablet combination I used to carry that this replaces. The overall look and feel is very professional and high quality. This is my first Windows machine in years, and I am glad to say that it mostly stays out of the way. The default configuration is not always what I want but it is mostly able to be configured. I've never had a trackpad on a Windows laptop that I love, and this one is still not as good as trackpads on Macs, but it's usable. Caveat 1: The headphone jack doesn't function properly for a headset with microphone. After a minute or so on a call, the party on the other end will complain about my audio becoming garbled and then disappearing. Through some googling I found many others with this issue, with no resolution, so I have to switch to a bluetooth headset for phone calls. Not as convenient or high quality as my other headset but it will work. Caveat 2: Even more minor, unlike a standard laptop where the hinge folds through a wide range, the kickstand has limitations that come into effect during video calls. The screen can't swing up as close to 90 degrees as I'd prefer, so instead of my face being centered by the front camera, the image I send ends up being my face at the bottom of the image with lots of wall above my head. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing portable machine and performance! I've been using for a little more than a week and summarized below PROS: - Great performance, it's really fast (i7vPro, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD)! - Extremely quiet fan and doesn't get hot! Never saw something like in any computer while doing heavy work or playing Age of Empires III (high set.) / Civ6 (low set.) (just the upper right edge gets warm where the processor is located). GREAT job! - Versatile, easy to carry and take notes (just like a notebook)! - The keyboard is just GREAT! - Lenovo Vantage software to update drivers and other configurations is easy and GREAT! CONS: - As reported by other people, the only problem I found is the battery :( (around 3h normal use like 10 tabs in Chrome + 10 apps working simultaneously). I consider buying an external powerbank to charge it on the go during busy days (I do carry the 65W USB-C wth charger me).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible power I bought the i7 16gig ram model and it is a very powerful computer in a compact size. I am mostly using it for music production within Reaper DAW. I can run 128 channels with effects at 48k/24-bit without going past 10% CPU usage. The only negative is the odd 3000x2000 display resolution that then has 250% zoom as the native resolution. Many older apps don't seem to be able to handle this visually. I can't seem to find a good compromise as lower resolutions that actually use the entire screen. It isn't a big deal and probably not Lenovo's fault, but I wished they had made the default video driver not be so large and then turn around and zoom it in. It will thermal throttle at extreme CPU usage. It is only under ridiculous loads for a tablet computer. I have one VST plugin in my DAW that constantly causes it and I am quite sure it is because it is poorly developed and the solution is on their end, not Lenovo's. I have had all cores at 80-90% for over 2 minutes before it dropped from 4ghz down to 1ghz. That is pretty impressive thermal control for such a small device. If it has fans, I can't hear them. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing tablet/laptop I bought this tablet/laptop as a secondary laptop for myself in college. I have a huge desktop laptop that I use most of the time but getting it to and from school was just becoming too much of a pain in my back literally. I can't even begin to describe how much I love the ThinkPad X1. The ease of being able to take my notes right on the screen with the included pen and then being able to type my notes on the keyboard makes this a much better deal than the Microsoft Surface which is what I was looking at as well. The durability of the Lenovo and the fact that everything was included was a huge selling feature for me. I was also able to qualify for the financing right online rather than going into a physical store which as a busy mom and college student was essential to me. Best purchase I have made all year! Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the real thing - nothing else compares What a dynamite surprise this unit has been. Talk about solid.. you have to feel it in your hands to appreciate it.. I mean, solid! No surprise it meets military specs. And then there's the speed and robustness - I've had 15 separate windows open at once and didn't even realize it.. it didn't even flinch. Its almost like it anticipates your next keystroke. I've owned, built and bought a lot of machines over the years.. nothing I've ever had compares to this ThinkPad. Pen/Stylus - awesome. Display - awesome. Tablet mode - awesome. Speed - extra awesome! Size - just right. Get one ... you cant go wrong. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect tablet I bought this to help me do my wireless surveys, which can be quite compute intensive. I was using a dual-core i7 6500U Miix 510 tablet with 8GB RAM. The X1's quad-core i7 and 16GB of RAM slay the Miix's performance. Another major win over the Miix 510 is the keyboard. It's much nicer (more travel, full size shift key, better construction) and the trackpoint makes a huge difference when working on the go. Bluetooth, for when I choose to use a mouse, works much better on the X1 as well. The X1 tablet's display is gorgeous, the device looks amazing, and the performance is exceptional. If I didn't have a TP25 on my desk, I wouldn't think twice about making the X1 tablet my daily driver. It's already a tough call. The only potential downside is the location of the thunderbolt 3 ports. Perfect while on the go, they may create a bit of an eyesore if docking this machine and using external monitor, etc... Imagine a cable attached to the top left of your laptop display as your docking/monitor cable. That's the only odd thing I can describe about the tablet. Not at all a deal breaker for me. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice desktop replacement I purchased this device within the last week. The first device died within 30 minutes of powering up. Newegg Business replaced with another device. So far so good. Highly recommend a burn in period to make sure there are no initial issues. Run some benchmark tests to verify nothing overheats or breaks down before putting personal data on it. Also, load up the Lenovo system software and let it run all the system updates. Other than the initial failure I really like the device. The keyboard is marvelous. Screen size is good and the picture quality is superb. Audio could be better but it is acceptable. Pen holder is....well, it ok. We will see how that goes although the pen itself seems to work as advertised. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and portable! Pros: Excellent keyboard Powerful specs in small lightweight design Durable quality build Great screen Snappy touch screen and pen interface Con: Battery life. This is the only thing holding it back from 5 stars. I average around 5 hours and I could accept that if I knew that going in but the website states 9.5 hours that could vary significantly depending on usage. I do not run any power user programs, just Microsoft office suite and Adobe for construction reviews and presentations. I expected more battery life for those standard offline activities. Overall: If you are never more than 5 hours away from outlets you can't go wrong with this portable beast. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good features but could use a few adjustments I just received my ThinkPad Gen X 1 and I do like it what I don't enjoy about it is that it has no compatibility with Androids when it comes to apps and the shipping is very slow I had to wait a month after I ordered it to get it. I also don't like the view that is on the tablet as it has icons on the screen that you cannot get rid of, I think that should be an optional feature. The battery life is alright but I definitely don't get the 10 hours that the reviews say you get. But in general it is very useful for what I'm using it for and is a really good product. Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Ultimate Tablet I'm very pleased with my ThinkPad X1 Gen 3. I got the top-end SKU and its basically the ultimate tablet. It can be a simple browsing device with only screen touch input. It can be a veri competent ultra-light notebook (really like the detachable thinkpad keyboard), or it can be connected via USBC or Thunderbolt 3 to do very heavy duty work. That flexibility makes it enormously useful. I have had it just over a month and its gotten me out of a few jams since it is a well-featured Win10 Pro machine that is the size of an iPad. One last important thing: this tablet is highly repairable! It can be field serviced and the storage can be swapped to another unit if there is a failure. None of that can be said of other similar tablet systems. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A worthy upgrade from the Surface Pro 3 I'm on call all the time, so there's always a computer in my bag. Portability is key. The SP3 fit the bill, but 3 1/2 years of wear-and-tear took their toll. The X1 already wins for its included keyboard and pen. The keyboard is more robust than the SP3 and the processor's four generations newer. I appreciate the extra screen size and the slight increase in weight isn't noticeable. USB-C is a little daunting until you start replacing peripherals and the lightning ports are extra fancy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the keyboard, hate the form factor First, I ordered this tablet mainly because I wanted a Thinkpad with a small compact keyboard like my old Yoga 260. Lenovo no longer has a small compact Thinkpad! I was happy with the specs but I cannot use the tablet form factor. The screen and keyboard snap together magnetically, and once you get them in place it's comfortable and convenient - but don't try to carry it around in the open position because the screen will just all out of your hands. You need two hands to carry it open. You can't push it on the desk because it doesn't slide easily like a laptop. It would be good if you could use the keyboard via a bluetooth connection but since you can't, it's no advantage over a 2-in-one convertible. In fact, unless you need the tablet form and do not need the convenience of a laptop, it's kind of a pain. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade and much more versatility. Much faster than old laptop but mousepad lags sometimes causing errors trying to navigate. Can't complain too much though because the keyboard is removable so the lag is kind of expected. It was shipped really quick so there was no delay between replacing old laptop with the X1. Having 16GB of RAM makes every program run much better and allows some to run that couldn't at all on my old laptop. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, pretty good. I've had my X1 for about 2 weeks and it is exactly what I expected as far as packaging, appearance, style, etc. The keyboard is great, the stylus is functional and fun to use, the screen is phenomenal, the battery life is very good, and it doesn't come loaded with a bunch of useless apps. Performance has been very fast and my internet has never worked so flawlessly! However, I've had to hard restart the machine 3 times in two weeks and that is with relatively low usage (I work on a PC all day and I'm in midst of home renovations so I'm working on the house most nights and weekends.) I haven't installed much software; iTunes, Firefox, Symantec antivirus, Abode reader, etc. I'm not sure what the issue is and hopeful that it will go away or I'll be contacting Lenovo service for help. I knew this when ordering so no fault to Lenovo but I wish there was a USB type A connection for when traveling; i.e. not lugging around the docking station. G1 holder(s) were much more secure. 2) Almost everything requires a dongle. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Falls way short again. I have used for two days and very dissapointed. The keyboard is not as good as the first and second gen X1 tablet. It seems like less travel and sticky. The display is certainly better but the lack of a USB port is a problem. The battery life is way off. They claim 10 hours and the most I am getting is 3. The full Core I processor provides plenty of power but drains the battery. The Pro Pen did not come with my system like it lists on the Lenovo website. They will have to send every customer the right pen as they must not be manufactured yet. Everyone will need to complain in order to guarantee that Lenovo follows through. I was burned on the first two X1 Tablets by Lenovo and will decide in the next day if this one is worth the $2300 I paid for it. The keyboard has stopped working several times and I had to remove and reconnect it. This is the problem that the first two tablets had and one of the reasons why Lenovo scrapped them. They are worth less than paper weights.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Multimedia will be so much smoother next semester! I bought this model because I need the weight reduction while still being able to have the computing power and speed my classes require. With the keyboard and tablet it still weighs less than 3 lbs, compared to my previous laptop with lesser graphic, memory, and processing at 14 lbs. The pen that comes with this tablet completely frees up my need to carry a corded mouse around with me. I had to carry a corded mouse because the Bluetooth mouse isn't responsive enough and is so delayed it resulted in the destruction of some of my projects, and then having to redo the entire thing. While the pen is bluetoothed to the tablet it is as responsive as the touchscreen and allows all the versatility of a mouse; pulling down menu bars, etc. Because I went for the maximum allowable specs because of my grad school project needs it was a little more expensive, but it also performs better than my desktop I bought about a year ago from Lenovo. Carrying so much less weight in my backpack will give me the space and weight for the library worth of books involved in my classes and dissertation. I also love that the keyboard clicks into place for immediate use instead of depending on more Bluetooth power, response, and drain on the battery. If I ever have to replace this, I will definitely be back for this device. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thinkpad x1 tablet ticks all my boxes I'm a business user who gets into meeting and move around the city frequently. But, for me having a power of a PC is a must since I occasionally code and needs interaction you normally can't do in a tablet. Before i had my x1 tablet, i bring around 2 devices: tablet and laptop. Soon it becomes annoying that you have to bring 2 devices at anywhere you go. I pick X1 tablet because it gives you complete set of 2-in-1 laptop, the nice thinkpad keyboard, and a very precise and responsive pen--all in one package--no hassle. Altogether with thinkpad-grade strength, color-accurate screen and a extremely fast SSD, thinkpad x1 tablet completes my journey of finding the perfect 2-in-1 laptop. Heard some news about screen scratching but for me it's easily solved by applying a good screen protector

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good but little heavy Fast, very well built, slim but a little heavy. Like it very much. A small issue is it needs big space at the desktop like a 15 in laptop. The stylus holder is good but the pen easily slids from it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality, good value, reliable Have had the computer for nearly 2 months. It's been solid and reliable, just what I would expect from the ThinkPad line. Great keyboard, great screen resolution, and overall a feel of quality and a good value. Only issues are: 1) battery life could be better, only lasts about 4-5 hours, though it rapidly charges, and 2) finger prints are not easily wiped off of the case. I've tried using a damp cloth with soap and rubbed with a good amount of effort but smudges remain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop replacement, pros outweigh few cons Great, durable but lightweight, laptop replacement. The processor and memory are fast, the display clear and bright, and the keyboard is responsive. The battery life is lacking, and the lack of ports is an annoyance, but the pros far outweigh the cons. I'm very happy with the purchase so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect surface pro replacement. So far I am loving this device. Its the perfect replacement for my surface pro 3. I considered the surface pro 6 or 7 before purchasing this device. However, the value proposition for this device was so much greater. I'm glad I made the switch. My only complaint is the placement of the function button which I am constantly accidently hitting instead on the control button. But I think this can be reprogrammed. Also, the battery life is sub par. Overall, amazing device, just keep a charger handy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Except for the defective pen, the X1 is great Purchased this to replace an aging Heilx 2-1 that was 6 years old. Except for the fact that the pen doesn't work properly, it's been a big improvement over my previous Thinkpad. Unfortunately, the pen (I use the pen with One Note quite often) leaves a leading artifact every time it's lifted from the screen. To make matters worse, there is no calibration function for the pen like the Helix! I'd expect Lenovo to either sell pens that work properly or have a calibration method so customers adjust the pens as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real alternative to the Surface Pro line Tablet pcs are one of my favorite things to work on, but I can't get over the lack of power many of them have. When the Surface pro line came out I was instantly hooked, but distressed to learn the computers barely last two years. With no repair options available and the prospect of spending a thousand dollars to replace a computer that is otherwise perfectly functional, I started to look for quality alternatives. Enter the Thinkpad x1 tablet. This computer is the first real competitor with the surface and fixes the biggest problem with the pro line: Reparability. No more will you have to throw away a perfectly good tablet because the battery has stopped properly functioning. Never again will firmware bricking mean your computer can never function off the power supply. Yes you can have your cake and eat it too. This computer has almost all of the same features that I loved in the Pro line with a few added benefits such as: Battery longevity management baked in which has the computer managed optimal charging levels to maintain a longer living battery! Excellent display resolution (blowing the HP Elite x2 out of the water An excellent detachable keyboard, like the surface only a little more firm for typing on the go. Cheaper than equivalently spec's on the surface pro. With all of these advantages, it's a shame I hadn't moved over sooner. I loved the Surface Pro line, but hated wasting an otherwise good tablet due to lack of repairs and bad batteries, but thanks to competition, Lenovo has your back. The Thinkpad 1x tablet is a real winner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly fast This acts just like any newer laptop but it is also a tablet. I am impressed with how fast it starts up and processes information. The only reason it is not getting 5 stars is that it took 4 weeks to come in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little Police / Fire MDT replacement option. Great replacement option for Police/Fire MDT's. Very fast, Light, Responsive and user friendly with all the right options. Mobile charging, WIFI and Cellular card availability. Compared to Getac or Panasonics at 3-4 times the cost. This little unit gets the job done and does so without taking up huge amounts of room in a vehicle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thinkpad X1 tablet 3rd gen Fantastic product. Using thinkpad products since 2011. Bought this product solely for the convenience it brings along with the specs under the hood. Not into gaming hence the graphics card serves the objective. Well built, robust product. Design may appear old school but doesn't makes it less effective a product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent product ruined by awful battery Overall okay product. The flexibility of the product is unparalleled but it falls short on battery life and little issues. I can barely use it for 3 hours without it running dry, and that's barely enough for class.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good battery; iPad Pro replacement; more features Bought about a month ago. A laptop disguised as a tablet. Better battery life than my laptop especially on stand-by. And with the USB-C charging, it is fast. The keyboard is better than the Surface Pro (I have owned one in the past). The 3rd Gen kickstand is an improvement as well. Plus, I added a 512 GB Micro SD Card; plenty of storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good product as expected. This is not my first thinkpad. I still use an Imac, but I needed a mobile full windows device for work and personal research. Overall I m satisfied with the quality and build, frankly I havent used the pen enough to be sold on it s value over my finger or a rubber tipped stylus. The trackpad seems to be a little glitchy as the page jumps back to an opposite position whether lower or higher when scrolling. Im not sure the origin of that issue but it s only a slight distraction from usability. The keyboard, as with many thinkpads, is excellent. That to me is a big selling point with large tablets and keyboard options. Having thunderbolt capability and two usb c connections is also a big reason I bought this over a surface pro or similar device. I still have need to evaluate its ability to handle certain light usage of programs e.g. Autocad, Photoshop express, while projecting but I think it ll serve it s purpose for presentation and mobile invoicing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I needed and Nothing I didn’t This machine does a great job of being a business/ work oriented laptop and tablet. The ability to detach the keyboard, lay the tablet on the conference table, and review pdf files as if they were printed is very nice. The transition from a laptop at the desk to a tablet on the warehouse floor feels seamless. The build quality makes the unit feel solid and comfortable. Keyboard feels excellent. The touchscreen is smooth and responsive. The display, however, is what allows this level of functionality and versatility and they nailed it. The 3000x2000 resolution makes this 13” screen feel much bigger than the 13.3” 1080 resolution I have been working with. It is a combination of being able to see clearly after zooming out, and the 2 to 1 aspect ratio gives you a longer screen top to bottom. Excel, Word, and web browsers feel like your working with a 14” laptop. When folded up this is like carrying a clipboard. Extremely portable. The keyboard will connect in reverse, which folds the keys to the back of the tablet. In this form the keys arent active, and the machine goes to tablet mode. This bit of info i did not know until I purchased the machine and was very happy to see. The battery drains fast, but the charge is quick. I was considering carrying a 14” laptop and an ipad pro. I chose with some hesitation to buy this 2 in 1 instead. After working with this machine I’m confident that was the right decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design, superlight tablet laptop Bought this two weeks ago and very happy with it. Love the tablet form factor. Only thing I'm worried about is that I've read that the screen scratches easily, even from the included keyboard, so I'll have to get a screen protector.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thin and Speedy. Love the Keyboard! I'm very happy with this tablet. It's super thin and the keyboard is amazing. Running Windows 10 Pro and the system is quite snappy. Battery life is decent but isn't great. Not sure how much more battery you could cram in this thin frame though. I feel that it's certainly adequate. The ability to charge via USB-C is huge though. If you get a good battery pack with power delivery capabilities, you can add a lot on to the battery life that way. Would definitely buy again. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best 2-in-1 (surface style) out there, hands down Best 2-in-1 ever! This is truly my everything computer. I use it as my main PC when docked in my office, I take it with me and use it in the field with clients and for sales calls, and I even use it for public speaking and for presentations. I use it for all my saas needs as well as for using the full Adobe Creative Suite. I've experienced no lag, no latency and no Bluetooth glitching. If I give it one "con" it's that the unit can get hot. I believe the default for the CPU is slightly overclocked. I'm considering resetting the CPU to normal clocking speed to try to cool it down some. Or since it's in use on my desk most of the time, I may just purchase a set of 3.2in external USB fans and place them behind the ThinkPad X1 Tablet when on my desk. Other than that, its the best 2-in-1 out there.
