Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern Feature set, but lacking in performaceI've been using the device for about a month, and it has everything that I was looking for in a modern tablet for features, you will be hard pressed to find another device that has USB-C, a sim card slot, and a fingerprint reader. With all these, there are some shortfalls that make the device sometimes unbearable to use. Fresh out of the box the device was slow (not enough RAM for a product that came out so recently), sometimes I'd have to wait seconds for applications to open, that opened in a blink of an eye on other devices. Another downfall is the storage, 16GB is not enough for a device if you plan on using it for media consumption. Yes you can expand the storage with micro SD cards, however unless an application specifically supports the usage of the sd card (many do not), it will continue to fill up the built in 16GB (32GB wouldn't been plenty)Pros: Fingerprint ReaderScreenUSB - C ConnectivityLTECons:Storage SpaceRAM [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take it ANYWHERE!I was looking for a high-quality but reasonably priced 8 inch tablet to keep in my messenger bag(the bag that goes with me everywhere I go) and this one checks those boxes, and more. With its snappy Qualcomm® Snapdragon MSM8953 Processor the 2GB of RAM are more than enough to speed thru all your tablet-based items without issue and at an acceptably quick pace. I know there are folks out there that are a little perturbed we can't get the European model that actually has 4GB of RAM; while that would be ideal it is hardly necessary or a deal breaker. Lenovo has given us a reasonably priced, high quality tablet that will do pretty much whatever it is asked. I stream Netflix, watch movies on Amazon Prime, do a fair bit of online shopping, etc, all without any problems. I really can't say enough about how good a choice this tablet is for a utilitarian, versatile, and reliable, take with you device. I take mine everywhere with me. I got the LTE 4G enabled version so I was able to get a SIM for it from my cellular provider and now I have unlimited data as well. I wholeheartedly recommend this as a top choice in the price range. Is it an IPad? Nope, but it doesn't cost $700 either. Get one, you won't be disappointed! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This tablet is almost useless with 16GB memoryI've had this tablet for six months now. I can't install anywhere close to all the apps I need on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Okay...if you only want a 16gb tabletBought this being a Lenovo fan. You cant beat the features for the price. I had it for less then three days before returning it. If you want a 16gb tablet with no accessory support this is it. The lenovo assistant and kids pack couldn't be found anywhere to purchase. The case is out of stock. I bought a microsd hoping to have a 128gb tablet. The tablet constantly corrupted it (search online its an issue with every tab 4). Also the screen scrolls a lot slower than anything touch screen Ive ever had. The display is okay but Id consider it less quality than my ipad1 I was planning on replacing. It would have issues operating with only a few apps open at a time before it started lagging and slowly functioning. If it wasnt for the lack of accessories and the sd card corruption issues I would have kept it. But ill just go elsewhere for something more reliable even if it costs double the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SD card causes too many problemsI bought this to read pdfs from work, Zinio for Libraries, and PressReader. Unfortunately, my tablet seems to lose the micro SD card card and my apps crash as a result. Looking on the internet, it would seem that I'm not the only one with this problem. I really cannot recommend the Tab 4 8 Plus and strongly suggest potential buyers to look at another tablet/manufacturer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Next improvement would be the followingSmall size tablet (7 or 8 inch) one are like a big size phone. And so, Android tablets are almost no future whatsoever, unless if only OEM would understand that nowadays Android users ( especially Android tablet users) only wanted a clean version of the Android OS for smooth performance, and great on battery life. Hence Android One is the only way to go ( especially when these tablets are suppose to be a budget friendly device), which it is good for both the users and the OEM ( users gets OS updates, and OEM doesn't need to waste time and effort to create useless app and other stuff as well as heavily modified the OS to a point where most buyer would came to hated it!). Take a look at the specs not this tablet, the CPU isn't bad. It is like the snapdragon 600 series, but too bad the RAM and storage are a bit cheapskate! As I mentioned it before on another tablet's review, if other Chinese phone OEM can put a pretty decent phone with snapdragon 6XX series CPU and 4GB of RAM as well as 64GB of storage with the Android One version of the OS, and only priced around $200 USD ( the xiaomi mi A1). How can you expect people to not feel a bit disappointed in nowadays Android tablets? While iPad isn't so much than Android like it is way ahead it, and also pretty expansive, but it does have one thing that they did it right, which is clean and smooth. So, if Android One is close to that and a much better choice, for clean and smooth performance. Then it is only make sense that people would wanted the same thing for the their Android tablet. The way that I look at this tablet, is that it only make me wish that my xiaomi mi A1 is a 7" or 8" device or maybe it is a tablet to begin with. So, hopefully in the future, Lenovo can put out something that, or upgrade this one into something similar to that with the similar price tag. Then I am sure people would prefer Lenovo's tablets than those other brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing specs on US versionPoor performance in stripped down model made for US market. If some people want to buy this model that's fine but we should also be given the option to buy the 4GB RAM and 64GB version available to other countries. I would call this model a Tab 4 8 MINUS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Supprisingly good.I bought this a few weeks ago and was replacing an old 8 inch tablet (Atom processor, zzzlow). Was worried about entry level RAM and storage, but I only use the tablet for reading news at night and it works surprisingly well, as in fast and agile (8 cores help). I'm glad that this unit doesn't have the glass back, makes it harder to hold and add weight. Could maybe have been a bit cheaper to reflect the specs, but like the overall package and would buy it again. Btw, I checked pretty much every other 8 inch tablets out there (as of Sep 2017), this is by far have the best mix, for me at least.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lenovo tab 4 8 plusGreat tablet in terms of size and sleak. I liked the cellular option which is why I selected the Lenovo brand. However, it appears to be slower than other brands. The 2gb data is too small. But its a great tablet overall especially for a student like me and I have downloaded all my books on the tab plus and enjoying it. I would recomend it to anyone. Though lenovo can do better its a great tablet.
