The Security Modules incorporate technology specifically designed to accelerate Intrusion Prevention performance. Some of the IDP functions that are accelerated via the Security Module include pattern-matching acceleration algorithms, enabling the Juniper Networks ISG Series to perform high performance parallel signature matching, and perform line breaking, which is essential for high-speed processing of text based protocol streams like HTTP, SMTP and POP3.
