Rated 5 out of 5 by prodyutpaul from IBM System X servers are the most robust servers. I am using it as a rack server by changing the cover and adding the pannel to rack mountable

Rated 4 out of 5 by CFonseca from Solid server. I purchased a single-CPU model about a year ago to use as an ESXi host for part of my development environment. Being an IBM guy, I knew exactly what to expect coming out of the box. The server was packaged safely and built well. I felt that the front panel looked a bit cheap looking compared to the M3. I was also surprised to see that the server did not come with a CD/DVD drive, which slowed things down when it came time to installing ESXi.Aside from that, the server seems to perform well. I'm running 5 VMs on the machine right now and the only bottleneck I've experienced was because I ran out of disk (my own fault!). The server performs well, and the cost is quite low compared to competitors. I did not see much improvement over my similarly-spec'd M3 model, however, but with near-similar costs, there's really no reason not to pick the M4 over the M3.Great server overall, and I would absolutely recommend it to someone with a low budget who is looking for a solid performer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mxtj from it was quite a beast in those days and it worked perfectly for my previous company until we decommissioned it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Coliver from Just put one of these into production late last year. It is a beast. We have Hyper-V Server 2012 hosting ~12 VMs right now and this rig isn't even sweating. I had one issue when installed the RAM but other then that it has been running very well since we installed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by timvan007 from Could not be happier with this model. We purchased 3 x3650 servers to serve as ESX 5.1 hosts. I consolidated roughly 40 physical servers that were 8+ years old onto these, and utilization across all three is still low. I have had one minor issue with a DIMM, which reseating RAM took care of. Other than that, no hardware issues or complaints.
