Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mouse vs LaptopI was very happy to receive this mouse, installation and pairing could not have been any easier, but after about a week my laptop started crashing. I would get that "blue screen of death" almost as soon as I started using the mouse. I didn't realize it was the mouse for a few more weeks, but then noticed that if I didn't turn on the mouse, no more blue screen. I haven't used the mouse now for well into two months and my laptop has not crashed one time. Too bad, it's a spiffy mouse!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for those who want Bluetooth mouseDue to the limited number of USB ports on my ultra-compact Envy Specter 14 (yes, compact size does impose some limitations!), I really wanted to find a mouse that would connect without requiring use of a USB port plug-in receiver (or a corded mouse). So I found this mouse among HP's offerings and thought it might be just what I needed. There was one (only one) prior review of this mouse, and the reviewer indicated he/she could not achieve connectivity with this mouse. But I decided to take a small chance and order it anyway.Well, with my Envy Specter, the connectivity took less than 60 seconds. Absolutely no problems at all.If my experience might be helpful to others, I simply went to the (Add) "Devices and Printers" option from the Control Panel, indicated I wanted to add a mouse ... the computer found the Bluetooth mouse instantly, I clicked on "connect", and I was up and running in, as I said, less than 60 seconds.Obviously I cannot guarantee that a different computer would connect as quickly as mine did, but on the basis of my experience, this mouse does exactly what I wanted it to do (and I had no set-up difficulties at all). One comment (neither positive nor negative) is that the mouse is ergonomically shaped in a very basic traditional shape -- equally suitable for right-hand or left-hand operation. Personally, I prefer a slightly larger mouse that's ergonomically designed for right-hand use. This is obviously just a personal preference matter, so a prospective buyer of this mouse should consider his/her own preferences as to the shape/size of the mouse.Overall, I'm delighted with this purchase and it keeps my USB ports free for other uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth tryingRight out of the box I thought I had an inexpensive replacement for my Logitech V470. It was paired to my Dell laptop quickly and worked flawlessly for a few weeks. Had to reinstall Windows to my laptop and the mouse could not pair wth my laptop. The connecting cursur just kept spinning. The device was discovered fast but never connects. I renstalled my Bluetooth software and same failure. HP support decided mouse isn't the issue, laptop has problems with Bluettoth software. I brought the mouse back to the store & got a full refund. Got another Logitech V470 used from eBay for same low cost and it worked perfectly right out of the box first time wthout any changes to my laptop. Huh, guess the HP mouse died...less than a month of use. My Logitech has worked for nearly 3 years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My mouse does not workI've paired my mouse and my bluetooth is enabled but the mouse will not work. It continues to show offline. I replaced the batteries and it still doesn't work. I will be returning the mouse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic BT MouseEverything worked straight out of the box with Windows 8 Pro using a Intel 6235 BT/WiFi combo adapter in my notebook. Driver installation was fairly easy by adding the BT device. No noticeable lag but I am not using this for competitive gaming. The power switch was turned off and on several times to check connectivity without any problems or alerts. The online documentation could be better on how change the batteries. Documentation for other similar style mice clearly showed the magnetic top cover removal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loses connectionTwo mice (original buy and free replacement) have had trouble staying connected. Typically freeze after a minute or two of use and connot be revived without a new device connection. Same result on two PCs: 2-year old HP Touchsmart 600 upgraded to Windows 8, and brand new Samsung Ative Smart PC with windows 8 preinstalled. Second replacement on the way... fingers crossed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only one problemPurchased as a replacement for my wife's hp touch pc the only problem is that the mouse seems to lose the bluetooth connection with the pc when the pc goes to sleep adn doesn't reestablish it automatically.
