Investigations and views, represented in graphical or tabular format, configure database information historically or in real time. Investigations and views can easily be turned into a report with a simple mouse click; reports can be scheduled, saved in several formats or sent via e-mail. The Foglight Cartridge for DB2 bases investigations and views on underlying collected metrics. Foglight also stores additional metrics in the historical repository for easy access by the database administrator. In addition, Foglight Cartridge for DB2 offers notifications that send alerts to DBAs regarding changes in state conditions. The notifications are rules set up to warn database administrators of impending performance-related problems.
