Perfect for Ultrawides but problem with Samsung G9
The build quality is great. They use high quality metals throughout, instead of just being cheap cast iron of other stands. There are set screws to lock in the arm, from you pulling it out of the sockets. They payed attention to detail, such as the bottom one rotates 180 degrees ( so it doesn't hit the wall when you push it back ). The top still rotates 360. Only reason why I gave it 4 stars but not 5 is because it will not hold up samsung's Odyssey G9 monitor. Monitors that have 1000R curve, have their CG too far forward for the tilt spring, and it will sag or drop down on the highest tension setting. However, the G9 monitor is really the only 49 inch ultra wide that causes this issue that I know of.
If you have any other super ultrawide that you want to use a monitor arm with, I would get this one
If you have the g9, Ergotron is being rumored to make a replacement tilt mechanism for the G9. The rated load of the arm is between 20 to 40lbs, and the g9 is 30lbs. It's really only a CG problem that causes it not to work atm. I am going to guess they will be coming out with the replacement part in like 2 months from now. It's 9/19/2020 as of writing this, so if your in the future reading this, go check if they made the new part for it.

Solid monitor arm
Overall this thing has been working really well. Holding an LG CX 48" that I'm using as a PC monitor. It's super sturdy and I didn't have to max crank the tension in order for it to stay where I'd like it. There is a bit of wobble while typing, but that was 100% expected when putting a monitor of this size on an arm instead of on the wall like I'd honestly prefer. I could also likely change the position of the arm, but it's harder to get it in my preferred position that way.

Best arm out there
Ergotron HX Single white arm.. This is one of the highest quality and perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing arm available out there on the market and to be frank, it looks like a monitor arm belonging to some high-tech laboratory inside the space station of a science fiction movie. Only to say, that is a fantasy that is brought to reality. It comes with all of the tools needed for installation with the packaging being thoughtful and well insulated with foam wrapping. If you survived CoVID-19 and are currently WFH, just reward yourself (for not dying & other things) with this arm because you deserve it and don't fret the $300+ price tag as it will be a nere afterthought once you install this arm on your desk.

Best arm out there
This arm is beefy and wonderful. I have a monitor on it that is under the weight limit and it works just fine. Everything is very stiff and whobble has been reduced even more from my two leg standing desk. No regrets.

Solid arm and looks great on the desk
I currently use two Pro Display XDR’s which are heavy and expensive hardware so the arm has to be rock solid. The ergotron HX is a great choice!

Not quite as smooth/tight at second pivot joint. Wobbles ever so slightly when moving, can’t seem to adjust that. If you fix with a screw the joint that allows you to rotate the display between landscape and portrait modes the display is slightly but noticeably tilted as a result of the loose middle joint mentioned above. Easy fix is to not lock that joint with the screw to allow that joint to rotate so you can level the monitor yourself. The tilt is more noticeable on ultrawide monitors.

Ergotron HX Single Monitor Arm
I had a 49" Samsung monitor I wanted to get off my desk and this was the only arm that fit my needs. I really can not think of anything negative with my purchase except I thought the price was a bit steep. The arm itself seems very well made and took about 20 minutes to setup. I am very happy with my purchase.

The perfect arm but...
(Opinion) It should've come with the Heavy duty pivot mount along with the standard mount.
Outside of that, it's a really good monitor arm, everything feels premium and heavy duty especially the desk clamp. The Odyssey G9 definitely requires the Heavy duty mount or else it will tilt down slightly.

Four Of Them!
I love these HX mounts so much I actually have four of them. I have four 32" displays that I divide up between work and play. The HXs keep the displays off the desktop, giving me a lot of valuable desk surface space back for other things. And they're vastly more flexible, movable, and adjustable than most OEM monitor stands are. And they're sturdy as heck, able to keep a heavy 32" display right where I want it at all times.
The first three I purchased were the moment the HXs became available on the market which was a few years ago. They only came in one color at the time: white. The one I just purchased is silver/stainless steel colored, and it's... a bit gaudy. That's my fault for choosing it, and if I were to do it again, I'd just get another white one.

Beast of a monitor arm! It's holding up my 49" Samsung ultrawide monitor (33lbs? with no trouble. I seriously didn't want to send the money for it, but it perfectly makes my office desk set up cleaner and roomier. It reminds me of the arms you see at the dentist office. Easy to make adjustments and built to last.

Great For Samsung Odyssey 49"er
I have the Samsung Odyssey G9 49" and no arm I had our that was on the market when I purchased it couldn't handle the weight. The stand that comes with it takes up to much space on my desk. I found this and looked at the reviews. The arm is extremely strong and works excellently. It raises the monitor high enough for me to clear an open laptop on on my desk. Faulty tension screw
This is a great monitor arm except the tool they sent doesn't fit the tension screw. We got a replacement but they couldn't just send a different tension screw. The same problem the tool doesn't fit in the that tension screw. Definitely a factory fluke. Too bad fir the money you pay but other than that great quality

Great stand
Works great! Feels high quality and easy to set up. I bought two. I was worried about it not working with my 16/17 lbs monitors because the minimum rating was 20 lbs but it works totally fine.
