Scanning bulky books or 3D objects is no problem, as the Perfection V370 Photo's lid has an extendable hinge than can open up to 180 degrees. Rated 5 out of 5 byrgb from Does the a good jobThis scanner works very well. I had to contact customer service to be able to scan to the .pdf format. The software guide is lacking in clarity on how to perform the above. Support was very accommodating and I have scanned old photos, documents and slides. I would like to scan old black & white negatives but haven't been able to do so.

Rated 5 out of 5 byLinD from Works wellI am happy with the performance of this scanner for regular 35 mm negatives. However, I purchased an adapter for the APS film and it does not work at all. It was sold on Amazon as compatible with this particular scanner. The scanner works great with pictures and regular negatives. I am happy with the purchase.

But very unhappy that two important pieces the document mat and the film holder are very fragile plastic.The actual scanning seems to be very accurate in color and sharpness. The ABBYY fine reader worked well and I like its use as a icon in MS Word.

I went to connect and hookup my scanner, I had to move my whole office around because the connections for the cables to plug in are on the front right side of the scanner. It is not a space saver either because the door opens to the right, which I first thought was cool, but now I need a bigger desk to scan from.

Sometimes I have to turn the business card 4 times to get the whole thing. The settings are very complicated to have to adjust every time and the attachments are useless for me. It has to scan 2 times instead on once so it scans and shows a preview then scans again to get the image again. Not speedy but it gets the job done. Definitely worth the price.

If I copy directly to printer, the scanner disconnects the printer from the computer until I reconfigure it. This is a nuisance and I had to call tech support for the printer!
