Rated 1 out of 5 by from Total piece of junk! I have had this piece of junk for just over 5 months now. About a month after I purchased it the low gear gave out in it. I should have returned it then it has struggled doing basic drilling tasks to the point of smoking and getting very hot. Finally today it gave up completely!! I have other Dewalt cordless power tools and I have not had any problem with them, in fact I'm impressed with the torque and power they deliver. I'm not sure what is wrong with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great and powerful drill. I love this thing. I purchased it years ago to replace an older "other brand" tool. It's my go to drill. Even though it isn't the upper tier Dewalt drill, I have used it to successfully drive multiple 6" self drilling lag screws through metal sheeting and solid wood to draw two warped support beams back together. Has enough torque to twist my wrist some when the screws go snug. Basically it has been a great and versatile tool. The only downside is the included batteries, which don't have a very big charge and don't exactly hold a charge well. I use the 1.3A batteries with the Dewalt DCL040 Work Light. A much better purpose for them. The charger works like it should. The only suggestions are buy the bigger batteries and good bits.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Compact light weight. Upgraded from an 18V Dewalt to get more versatility and power. Kind of disappointed. When I'm drilling and let off the trigger, the brake causes the drill to fall out no matter how tight I tighten the chuck. Otherwise pleased with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High Quality Tools I have many DeWalt tools and power tools, I expect this DCD771 1/2" 20V drill to be a quality addition to my Hot Rod Shop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool I have only had this drill/driver for a couple of weeks but it is a beast for a smaller sized drill. Very powerful. From drilling holes to setting screws/bolts, this drill works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and powerful Very powerful for its size and weight, which is critical for me since I work in a lot of tight spaces where a corded drill isn't an option. 1/2" chuck is nice, and it's had no problem drilling metal with a big twist bit.
