Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exact replacement for Dell memory in XPS 870 I installed two of these in a Dell XPS 8700 desktop, replacing original 2GB DIMMs and moving two 4GB DIMMs to different slots, taking the total memory capacity to 24GB. The memory passed Dell SupportAssist diagnostics. It was all done in one step, unlike the experience of some online posters using different memory brands who reported having to install one DIMM at a time, with a power-up boot required after each.

I thought, increasing memory would help, in many areas. Going from 8GB to 32GB, I assumed I would see some performance increase, but I did not. Don't know what to say. In the past, every computer I have upgraded, I did notice a change, especially when taking a big jump.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Chip The RAM module worked fine. However, I own a HP Pavilion 550-110 and it says it upgradeable to 16gb of ram. IT IS NOT. I first bought just one of these Crucial chips and it was compatible with the RAM chip included with the machine,(Samsung)so I ordered another Crucial RAM chip and though well if it wasn't compatible with the Samsung chip than two crucial chips should work. Wrong the motherboard didn't except them both together. I guess I bought a dud of the computer

The computer started suffering BOD's and I new I needed to replace the old sticks and get my computer back to normal. After getting the memory from Crucial and getting it back into the machine. I haven't had any issues of BODs anymore.

Using the websites scan tool and paying attention to your individual details ensures you get what you expect. I've used Crucial for a few of my upgrades and I've never been disappointed. I just wish there was an integrated RAM recycling program so I could send my old sticks to them for proper disposal/reuse.

Then stayed on the phone with me for 20 minutes , troubleshooting my computer. The one with the BROKEN MEMORY socket ....(DARN !!). The support tech was PATIENT, KNOWLEDGABLE and RESPECTFUL throughout. A real asset.

Before the swap, there were a few bad bits in RAM, this fixed that. It runs smoother now. I also replaced the CMOS battery.

Would be even better a millimeter or two less, but this worked "as expected". Not my first order, each has been similarly "as expected". I like a history without disappointments.

I have tried various memories in many computers during the decades that I have been involved with ICT, both privately and professionally. I can say that without exception, if I use the Crucial analysis tool, I will be presented with a number of options, any of which I can be 100% sure will never cause a compatibility issue on the motherboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only to replace an old memory stick. My computer came with 8GB of memory but you can add another 8GB. Using the Crucial scanner, I bought another 8GB. The new and old memory do not work together, however the new memory does work if installed without the old memory.
